Hey /3/, it's been a while. Haven't visited here in well over four years, so forgive me if I sound like an idiot or break some new board culture that I'm not aware of.
I've been out of the 3d scene for a while because I got a job as a programmer. Recently I learned how much people can make just by doing some 3d porn, and I kind of want to get in on the action. I've whipped up a little game and am currently modeling a few high-demand character.
I've never really done much character modeling, so I'm not well versed on the important... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>508919 Yeah, it really did need work. I've decided the model really needs to be retopologized in some major areas and have gone to work on it.
A big problem is the character is humanoid in shape, but not actually a human. They don't have any defined muscles or anything of the like, so I'm trying to get proper topology without defining muscle groups since that'd look super awkward for the character.

I'm having a lot of difficulties attempting to model organic things -- animals, humans, creatures I came up with. I have no idea how to model body types other than a skinny male twink. Please post guides, tutorials, books, ect. for organic modeling. I heard that modeling a horse really helps you improve at this sort of thing, so if anyone has a tutorial for that, please post.
>>508883 Because you're not supposed to model that stuff, you're supposed to sculpt it and then just retopo over it. Topology is too much of a limiting factor when all you're trying to do is improve your skill at producing accurate forms.
>>508850 seams are inevitable in most textures. What you want is to blend the textures on top of the seams, after creating a unwrapped map. Exporting the model to Photoshop do the trick, but you can try Zbrush to handpaint the thing if you´re desperate.
So I've used Cinema 4D since 2008 and I'm bretty good at it, but I want to move onto Blender and holy shit it's a different world.
The concepts are the same I guess but everything's in places I don't expect them to be and some things are weird from a C4D user's point of view not to mention the interface. I'm willing to change my modeling paradigm if that's what it takes. I do low-poly stuff mostly but that's irrelevant I guess.
Can any ex-C4D user share some tips on what to put emphasis on? Are there comprehensive... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Once upon a time, different DCC applications were the standard for different types of markets that used them. For instance, Lightwave was the go to program for television CG work, because of the very fast workflow, while Max was the one people used for games most often. There was crossover, of course, but the trends were definitely visible.
I'm wondering which programs dominate which parts of the market now. I ask because I am thinking about focusing my efforts these days toward getting as good as I can with one package, rather than having so-so skills with a lot... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I know very little about 3d modeling, but I also need an animation of the male genitalia, specifically the testes rising up into the body and lowering back down again, like what happens when the temperature changes. Preferably with a dick hanging there too. It doesn't have to be SUPER realistic, although it should very much resemble a penis, maybe something like what a diagram in a medical book would look like, but 3d. A cross sectional view of the scrotum would be cool... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>508776 You can do this quite easily in Blender using shape keys. I have a Makehuman figure with male genitalia and can control an erect member. I don't think it's wise for me to post it on a blue board (as I have warnings already and can't risk a ban as I can't change my IP )
I tried using USN mapping website but it just spits out these retarded ArcGrid format files which are impossible to convert to DEM unless you BUY global energy mapper.
I tried using terrain.party by downloading a heightmap, and then taking the longitude and latitude from the readme.txt file so I could paste them into google earth and hopefully get a good texture from there.
However, these coordinates are not in longitude and latitude format, in the .txt file, they come out as 112.726083,36.340923,-112.926823,36.179227, meaning when I paste them into Google... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Any pre-made furry models, ( know of Krystal. ) I work pretty much only with blender. I hated Maya and 3D max, liked Lightwave but no one uses it. So I been going with Blender.
I'm able to make 3D humanoids ok for the most part anyway... But trying to make furry characters is proving more difficult than I thought. Ironically, I am trying to make a 3D still shot series, of humans and furry, as well as alien machines interacting with each other... And not sexual either... So I don't need dicks and vags thank you...
I prefer to make everything myself, but... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
