Post requests, etc.
Since the topic came up, would the anon mind posting Lupin III raws?
If you take their BLAME! for example, the very first dialogue line is already mistranslated. Not that dialogue really matters in in, but you get the idea. And they even went as far as editing characterss age in GTO, for fuck's sake. I really wonder what are these above average-good translations they did people were talking about.
About Lupin, I'm the italianfag, I already have a couple of volumes, I could take some pictures to compare the quality of the translation between mine and TP release, just to decide if it's worth to consider using the italian release.
But I don't get something: are raws available and you guys just want to scan TP or only the latter is available?
TP is partially available, some are expensive and the rest haven't been scanned. Haven't looked into raws, but I imagine they're available. Lupin's been reprinted like 5 times, though, so I'm not sure which raws to grab.
Scanning Golgo 13 (Viz), but they're going to be dark because I use a black piece of paper to prevent bleeding. Can anyone upload a decent leveling batch script that I can run the pages through?
Wouldn't it be preferable to directly translate the raws then? It's not a long series, if I remember correctly.
I don't think it's the case but I can't assure you it's a good translation either since I don't know japanese.
400 DPI (600 seems like overkill since these don't need redrawing or anything).
I don't know anything about editing aside from the eyedroppers that set whites and blacks.
If this looks good to you, then use this Photoshop action.
For scanlating 14 volumes is long, man. Translating, proofreading, cleaning, redrawing and typesetting takes time, and more than one would think.
I've already sent e-mail to admin, but I'm going to post this here as well:
Please delete this folder, for some reason all my uploads result in blank files.
Don't forget to manually go over each scan, though. Some garbage appear here and there, and leveling won't fix that.
And do you have anything else you could scan? Viz's Excel Saga by any chance? I asked about it in last thread, but no one replied.
I hate that two months or so ago I deleted a ton of manga I had saved to make more space because I was just hoarding it. There's also a bunch of stuff on my phone with an app called Comic Glass but to get all of them off quickly I'd have to install Itunes on my computer.
Redrawing isn't necessary and my personal opinion is that it's stupid too, a lot of publishers and some releases aren't redrawn either, Mamoru Nagano, as a lot of authors, didn't want his sfx redrawn in the Italian edition of FSS.
I don't even like cleaning, when the raws are from tankobon, or if the "cleaning" is like the one most Prison School scans got.
No sure if this has been answered before.
This project is just an intermediary before 'the next one' in a few months time right, being populated by what scraps people have? Or will those who grabbed the dump place it here slowly, whilst the website is build?
Is there a full torrent of the full MT backup? I don't want to do anything that large scale enough that might burden this guys server by trying to take everything down.
Swan, Glass Mask, Rose of Versailles, A Cruel God Reigns, 3 Gatsu no Lion (+raws), Equus, LHC, What Did You Eat Yesterday, Piano No Mori, Black Jack, a lot of manga raws for older manga (Ryoko Yamagishi, Kaze to Ki no Uta, Swan, How to Make a Delicious Man, some Tezuka)
Phone has 30 volumes of Yowamushi Pedal, Tamashii no Futago, Kinderbook, Witches, Inugami Expert, Cesare, Shoukoku no Altair, Ping Pong, Alexandros, Carmen, Winter Gymnasium, FLAT, Window of Orpheus, Claudine!, The Rocket Man, Chronicles of the Clueless Age
It's probably all stuff that wouldn't be hard to find online again with some looking but it was a few gigabytes worth.
Yeah, it's the omnibus reprint. Each volume is about 800+ pages.
Yeah, that's the paper. Not sure you'll be able to find all 27 volumes, though. 8th volume is rare, as I remember. I had a little project with anon who had all volumes, but then he just stopped responding.
I'm not talking about redrawing sound effects, redrawing them is pretty stupid (though, acceptable in some cases). I'm talking about signs and other shit you see, like stuff on screens and in books, but not SFX for sure. And that blurred the fuck out "cleaning" you've seen in Prison School is abomination, that faggot was too lazy and just abused Topaz filters. Unfortunately, there are people who do their cleaning only that way.
No, I just have really bad Korean raws of it. CMX published 15 out of 21 volumes and Shoujo Manga Manic used their translation on raws of the Japanese digital omnibus release, it looks good but they only put one volume out so far.
You are a god among men thankyou
Supposedly DMG/DMP is going to try publishing all of his stuff digitally, might as well be patient and rip it all if they ever get that far. They're a pretty shitty publisher though.
Well, I'm always happy to give it a shot. THe only problem is I can't read japanese. I can understand most of it but as far as writing is I'm basically a brain dead toddler. Proof reading and cleaning I can do however.
yeah, I've got the spirit to do it but I don't know how
That might be more convenient than uploading the whole thing.
I'll do it as soon as a get home.
Shame about mangatraders
It was a while since i had donated, but i wasn't using it much, either.
Does anyone have Fairy Tail Volume 40? I have from 1-42 but no volume 40. If I can it I'll upload the complete series with specials. (I tried a torrent from piratebay and it was dead.)
Yeah, I was pretty desperate to find it, and after wading through fuck knows how many old pages with dead links I still haven't found it. I might just have to download the chapters separately and make my own vol 40.
Anyone want some trap manga oneshots?
No problem anon.
And thanks again for doing it.
I'm uploading some Hareluya II BOY if you don't mind.
Server-anon said in the last thread he doesn't want to host loli in the open from a EU server. The content is still there though, he might give you access if you write him a mail.
Can't he just password protect it and post the pass here or something similar?
I mean, it's not technically "out in the open" in that case since then you wouldn't be able to open it unless you were looking for it.
Please, for anyone uploading manga, update the spreadsheet. I've been working on it for hours, and it's nowhere near complete, so if you guys do your part, I'll be really grateful:
If it gets posted here, it'll eventually be spread by retarded crossboarders. What we need is someone who can host in a country that isn't a nazi shithole like Europe. Then the admins can set up an arrangement to redirect or mirror things.
It takes less than one minute, and you can even do it while it's uploading. I'm not telling you to do it for what it's already uploaded, but for your new uploads, it shouldn't be that hard.
It goes from v11 to v16. I guess this is because is some kind of sequel to Devilman, or something, and was released with those numbers, but since I'm not familiar with the series, I left it like that, so someone that knew what was it about could confirm it.
Uh... Ok, I'm blind. My bad. I somehow mistook the l for a 1
>Hikaru no Go
I didn't write that one. Are there two bonus stories at the end? If so, I guess those are the extras that entry is talking about, and then it can be set to complete.
To the friend that is currently working on the spreadsheet:
I appreciate the effort, but please don't randomly edit shit. I just fixed Sakura no Ichiban and you changed it back for some reason.
Yes, but it's very unlikely unless it's exposed to the elements. If something dies while turned off, chances are it broke when it was running and the damage just didn't cause immediate failure. Temperature changes can set it off, like the inverse of how putting a drive in the freezer can sometimes squeeze another hour out of it.
Not sure. While updating the spreadsheet on the complete folder, I found a few things that weren't completely scanlated, but were complete in Japan. I'm sure there's plenty of them in the ongoing folder too. Personally, I would recommend putting them in the ongoing one, but I guess it's up to the uploader until we hear from the admin.
Why would you put it in complete?
Generally if you're looking for completed translated manga, you should be expecting that. Status in Japan doesn't mean shit if it isn't translated.
>because it may continue someday
Yeah, sure, someone will pick it up after 10 years. I just have to wait ten more.
Best solution is to put it into !complete and rename folder to name_of_the_manga [vNN-NN], or rename !completed into !finished.
>Yeah, sure, someone will pick it up after 10 years.
I told anonymous last night that I would up Hokuto no Ken today after sleep but it seems somebody else already did it. I feel kind of empty now.
Would anybody like Alisa of the Silver Hair or Dororon Enbi-chan? Those appear to be the only things not upped yet that I currently posses.
I knew I should of downloaded shit yesterday.
fuckcakes and shit
Well, I neeed to go, so I'll leave the spreadsheet for the moment. I've reached Eyaminokami on ongoing, and Completed should be completed (unless someone uploaded something in the last few hours and didn't update it). If someone wants to keep working on it while I'm away, I wont get mad or anything, you know? Even something as simple as double-checking the info and filling the few blanks (specially in chapter numbers) would be helpful.
Anyway, see you later, guys.
No, but until someone uploads them again, we need some other options, and you know, it's good to have our eggs in different baskets.
>Huge torrent soon
When? They said the torrent would be ready in July.
Yes it is.
>july was 15 years ago
Sad panda folder is not empty. Its permissions were changed so you can't access it.
That page uses content you have already uploaded, though you are not able to upload anymore (for now, I think).
I am not admin BTW.
I got temp banned yesterday because the mod is a fuckwit, so I'll try asking again today.
My Monster Collection is missing one page from one volume. Seems to be that way in the original since Batoto is also missing it.
What should I do in that case?
Beet the Vandel Buster v06
Watashi ni xx Shinasai! (not c57)
Konjiki no Gash
School Ningyo // school mermaid (ch1-3, MU marks it as complete though...)
Witch Craft Works
Ive tested all files using 7zip, the only corrupt file requested was:
Watashi ni xx Shinasai! v15 c57
These are the MT files when the site went down, nothing more. Ive only checked if they are corrupted or not. The files have been renamed using a script made by sakisan.
well I need to sleep and work. I'll be back in ~15 hours to upload more stuff.
(I've also added bleach and jojo to the pending list.)
Im only dumped the batchrenamed MT files, I have no idea if they are the best version around or anything.
you are probably right, well its 2.7 GB... I'll guess I'll cancel that upload. Most is on bakabt anyway.
Anyone have all the volumes of Amanchu and latest chapters to upload?
I have 3 volumes, but my upload speed is fucking shit 50KB/s max.
I've downloaded a few of the single volumes, I can upload them to the raws maybe tommorrow
Kuro vol 1in oneshots seems to be incomplete, so Im gonna upload mine which is. Also gonna put it in ongoing, since it is in fact an ongoing web comic.
i love separate folders for chapters in archive, because my comic viewer handles that well and lets me switch between folders quickly.
oh and I should note. my kuro volume is smaller in file size because I always throw my mangas through ImageOptim (mac app, uses a handful of *nix tools for exporting images for web use).
Also I always take the cover scan and rename it to be at the end of volume. Just noting in case someone wonders where that went.
Requesting again, I put up a .txt but am gon try here again.
How's this size/quality, I think this is the best I can do
Is there any where I can check the chapters per volume of Wagatsuma san? I've check the Japanese wiki and only got the volume. Mangafox does have the Chapters per volume but I don't trust them that much
As if you really need a reason to do things nowadays.
CR has only 6 volumes, the current volume is 11. I'll just download the raws then which is up to volume 10. I'm gonna add the cover scans from the raw so how should I add them? An added x chapter in the back?
If you want the rest:
It's lewd as fuck though.
I just find it strange to see the amount of people who would question perfectly good intentions, like this FTP setup, and would prefer to leave things in the hands of others over taking action themselves. Especially since the reason we're in this situation in the first place is because somewhere along the line, somebody fucked up in their decision making.
I messed up the spread, page 6.
Replace it with this, I'm fixing the archive now
Yes. And the person who responded to them gave a reasonable answer. I am simply of the opinion that you don't need an specific reason to do something like this. Collaborative archives are tools. And tools always have a use, even when not immediately apparent.
Anyone ripping from mangabox?
Can I request the following?
Kunoichi Joshikousei Otonashi-San / High School Ninja Girl, Otonashi-San
Seitokai Sousenkyo / Student Council ? Total Takeover!
Sailor Fuku, Tokidoki Apron / Schoolgirl Landlord Honoka - same Author as Pastel
Rakunou Milk! / Milk On The Farm - Same author as B Gata H Kei
Akoya Tsutaya / The Chronicle Of Akoya
Ana Satsujin / Peephole
Amazon has images with better res than Viz itself. The first volumes of Nisekoi for instance were 1150px I think and a lot less artifacting. Kobo as well. Viz does actually have the best images for joining apparently, but they serve it with such terrible res and artifacts.
Unless you've got an actual Kindle, it's pretty annoying I believe. I messed around with patching an android app so that I could do it. Kobo's not so bad. There's an app called obok and you just need to install their desktop reader.
Quick question about the naming scheme, if each volume has multiple extra chapters, say 5 extras, which woulb be correct?
>Name of Manga - c001-005 x1-5 (v01) [Unknown].zip
>Name of Manga - c001-005 x1-x5 (v01) [Unknown].zip
Just a personal preference.
I make a copy, crop it, and name it 000.jpg. But the original is kept in the back because I'm a weird sperg who likes to see it after reading the entire volume.
im sorry its too late.
Done with Hareluya, this is next.
I want to upload Living Game, but every volume contains chapter 1-12.
Can I just upload them without chapters in the title or do you seriously want me to call them
>Living Game - c001x5-c012x5 (v05) [Groupname].rar
Also, why do we have "short manga" and "one shots"? That's a bit confusing.
Putting up request for Kaoru's works, namely Emma, Shirley oneshot/series and Anything and Something oneshot. Thanks in advance.
I feel like we should either append author names to the folders (does FileZilla have a search function?), or just have mangaka folders with their works inside. Might make it easier to look for stuff, especially if a manga might either be in romaji, or an English name.
my Manga HDD died on me,
so anyone have nagasarete airantou volume batch to upload?
How much of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei did it have TL'd?
Yes and I have it in my hard drive but I don't want to put each and every file in a zip file and then rename them. If someone has a python script to automate it then I could upload it.
I keep saying this, and no one listens, but I'll keep saying it.
Please, if you upload something, add it to the spreadsheet. Even something as simple as adding the tittle and if the upload is up to date or you're missing something would save 90% of the work for anyone updating it, so please, it's not that much.
Yeah, that was it. You need to understand that I'm editing a lot of things, and I'm trying to be as fast as possible. If there's something I'm not sure about, I'll put it as incomplete so someone that knows more than me about it can check it a correct it if it's wrong.
Ok, I was away for a few months and What the fuck happened to Mangatraders?
Can someone give me a short overview?
1) What happened to MT in general?
2) What happened to their files and is there a way to get them all?
3) Is Madokami the new MT and how does it work?
Of course, I am willing to contribute myself. I have 3 TB animu and mango here and I am sure a lot of the lesser known stuff like Taniguchi just waits to be uploaded. Thanks in advance for explaining.
What do you mean? The spreadsheet is editable. To add a line, just click on Insert and row above or below (it's better if you place it in the right place, but don't worry if you don't, just click Data and the first option once you're finished). Everything else should be pretty obvious (links to mangaupdates, status of the upload, status of the manga in Japan, etc).
Ok, thanks. I looked through a few archive links as well and there seems to be this #MTArchival thing on IRC. Apparently they have all the files.. why don't they share them? A lot of the lesser known stuff will be missing now because let's face it: MT was ideal for that and we lost many series with it that many anons just didn't bother saving.
Also, can you guys be careful? There's people deleting links in the spreadsheet, changing names, and some other shit. I want to think you do it by mistake (clicking on a letter while on a field would rewrite it), but you can click ctrl+z and restore it instead of making me check what the hell did you just delete.
Could you remove Space Adventure Cobra from Complete? I accidentally copied it into there.
maybe "Bulk renamer" program might help some of the renaming the process here. As the name imply it could rename a lots of file in a single go.
I use that program to sort my H-manga. mostly used to remove event tag like (c89), adding circle name, proper chaptering format for normal manga, and give tags for content knowledge (ntr, oldyoung, beast)
also if your files are scattered, this program might help. "Everything", It's a local search engine that works way faster than default windows search engine. due to it's internal database, it could search trough terabytes of data scattered in several HDD in few seconds.
didn't know much how these works but considering they may need to find different server for 2 terrabytes of data, which is questionable in legality might add some difficulties in setting up new mangatraders.
or if that isn't that difficult then this,>>110275597
the scanlation haven't finished yet.
only first 4 volume scanlated i think. patlabor is 22 volumes so it's still ongoing despite the scanlator is gone now.
last update (974d ago)
Why does this even need discussion? People who don't know what "ongoing" means are just retarded. Just look at MangaUpdates, for christ's sake.
>Status in Country of Origin
>10 Volumes (Complete)
"hurr that must mean it's completely scanlated"
That much is obvious, but I don't give a fuck if a manga is completed but not fully scanlated. When i want to read a completed manga, I want to read the whole thing, most people here don't read moon.
Because it can mean different things in different contexts. If you're looking for completed translated mango, then status in Japan doesn't mean shit if it isn't completely translated.
>Probably retarded question, but can old HDD die while not being in use?
It's been covered on other forum discussions before about hard drive hardware. The failure modes vary based upon internal or external drive type, what you are doing with the power supply, etc. Some external drives had cheap chinese switching power supplies that failed to work properly if running off an uninterruptible power supply's stepped sine output. Thus, the drive was fine until the cheap chinese power supply that came with that external drive wrecked it on that occasion the UPS kicked it.
Dead scanlations might be revived.
Why make things so complicated? You go to the complete folder, you know that you can pick up anything without knowing moon, easy.
Don't start that, retard.
so, so far it went this way
>Complete folder : already finished in country of origin regardless the scanlation.
->[Incomplete] label: already finished in country of origin but not in scanlation
>Ongoing folder : still ongoing in country of origin and may still on going in scanlation.
10 votes, so little but
Completed should be...
1.Series completed in Japan, and completely scanlated, 8 votes (80%)
2.Series completed in Japan, regardless of scanlation status2 votes (20%)
10 total votes
Looks like you need to [Complete] your english lessons.
Since I can't access the sadpanda folder, it is worth it to upload Doujins? I have them ordered by Author and my Folder names are pretty accurate.
And then people will complain that they can't quickly browse series that are completely scanlated, like a few posts above yours. There's always a retard bitching about something.
I think people who'll look for a manga will instinctively look for a completed manga in Japan in the completed folder regardless if the scanlation is completed or not.
It's not hard to understand.
If you read Japanese, sure, but I don't see why you would do that if you're looking for translations.
If I want to read a full series, why would I pick a manga completed in japan but not in English?
There's no way of knowing that any of those ongoing scanlations are ever going to get a new release anyway, all scanlations are dead until another chapter comes out. Unless you want to make some time frame parameters.
If you wanted to read a full series, why would you pick up something that has an incomplete tag on it?
If you want to pick something up that's getting new publications and will therefore have active discussion and no spoiled ending, why would you want something that ended long ago?
