I find I consistently forget the names of things I have watched, so I will have the image of it in my mind but not be able to name it, adding it to MAL or something like that really helps when that comes up. It gets hard to remember everything you have seen when it is spread out over 10 or so years and nearing the thousands.
i want to believe that most of them don't even bother with lists
What's good about it is that it has an offline list. So if you used MAL and your internet fucked up, you can't access your list. But with Taiga, you can. It has some cool other features as well.
mainly for statistics, but also to have something ready if some
IRL friendsask for recommendations.
One of them actually went down the good path after I showed him Sora no Otoshimono, K-On! and Yuru Yuri.
no, but he dropped Naruto, Fairy Tail and One Piece after seeing how good anime can look in 720p with the right players installed and actual animation budget behind a show.
I recommended Gintama for longer series if he needs his fix of being a huge faggot.
>hating on Gintama
enjoying your first week so far?
I used Notepad for the longest time until recently, when I realized there were a bunch of OVAs and specials that I missed, so I tried out MAL to keep a better grasp on things.
Is there any way to make my profile private? I disabled everything I could but I didn't see an option to hide my profile anywhere.
>all these frustrated newfags who think that people have anime lists so that they can show it to others and have a bigger e-penis.
You will then be a 30 year old and someone will ask you "hey, have you seen X show?" and you will vaguely remember it. Trust me.
>when I realized there were a bunch of OVAs and specials that I missed
It gives you a list of everything related to the series you watched that you missed in the "recommendations" tab.
Is it just me being retarded or does the recommendations tab suck ass?
I can't manage to get it to display shows relevant to what I watched. It spouts random shows.
I have a similar problem on a smaller scale. I only really got into anime about a year and a half ago, and I have about 50 series downloaded that I haven't seen yet, but never get around to watching. If I see an interesting anime I haven't downloaded, I get and watch it immediately, leaving my current backlog to rot.
If you are autistic enough to read game/book forums/chans and go through hundreds of games/books, then listing them isn't a bad idea. The utility gained is pretty high considering it takes 5 seconds to add a series to your list.
I've been working on a script that sorts PTW list by genres and global score. It's a page scraper so it would take about 17 minutes to do 500 entries
>list what you've watched?
Why would I do that? I know what I have watched, there is no need to write it down. I have a text file with a list of anime I want to watch in the future though.
Especially for things like anime with foreign titles. I can't full title of something like Watamote or Oriemo, or even some shorter names like SYD get spelled wrong without checking. If I ever want to see what something I've watched is called, I have a simple list that can tell me tons of information about everything I've seen.
Same here. the only time I list more than 1 of a show's listing is if they are full seasons but deserve different ratings. I don't need 4 Seitokai Yakuindomo copies on my list, clicking on 1 will let you see the other 3.
Why would it? Just edit the secondary titles of the anime in Taiga with the name of the folder and Taiga will detect the folder and you can open them through it, and as long as you don't have retarded names for the shows it should be fine too.
I can't ignore them as long as they exist on that page. It worries me because my tastes are constantly changing whenever /a/ redpills me on a series, and the ratings can never truly reflect me at all
It can be troublesome to remember the titles of anime if you binge through a series in short order so there is that as well. If your watching from week to week it isn't much of a problem.
MAL because it has some custom tags. I take em from anidb and Mangaupdates and also link separate titles of the one franchise together. It's very convenient for marking up something I want to watch or read in the future.
How the fuck do you faggots seriously need to keep track of what you watched? If you can't remember if you've seen something or not just glance at a summary.
Or just look through your library, because we all know to not stream and never delete anime, right?
I only save like 15% of seasonnal shit.
It would take to much place on my HDs otherwise and I don't feel the need to rewatch all the shows I've watched, so nothing of value is lost
i use a couple of notepad so that i can write down my thoughts and ratings without having to worry about what others think of me. it is also superior in the way that you can remake your top 100 \ top 10 easier than with MAL
