Less than 24 hours left until Tomino's wild ride and the age of onee-san starts. Are you hype yet, /a/?
>Less than 24 hours left
Wait what? I thought it was next week
Has anyone earmarked it for subs yet?
>That's about as far as Tomino could push it
Well, the backstory is UC canonically ending with mass starvation and cannibalism. That's the most Tomino thing Tomino could possibly write.
Do you just hide in a cave with a generator and just browse 4chan all day?
>Tomino says he was especially disheartened by the handling of the 2011 earthquake and subsequent nuclear crisis in Fukushima Prefecture, saying that both influenced the creation of G-Reco by clearly showing him that adults aren’t able to clean up the messes they cause.
>Specifically, Tomino, who is directing the series, was quoted as saying, “Preexisting fans of Gundam won’t be able to understand it…I’m not making this for you, so please show it to your children and grandchildren, instead.”
Reminder that Tomino is senile.
>“Preexisting fans of Gundam won’t be able to understand it…I’m not making this for you, so please show it to your children and grandchildren, instead.”
>Implying I can't compartmentalize
Well fuck you too Tomino
>Tomino said the show is intended for "teens"
>yet he has a credit in writing every single episode when only previously he wrote sometimes less than half (Zeta/Turn A being the shows he had the most creative involvement when it came to writing)
>it's airing at a 2AM timeslot
I am sure this is what it was like when Gen said Madoka is a healing anime.
I have unquestionable proof on this map that this thread will end in shitposting.
But look how happy he is when he's being so cruel.
>That's like saying preexisting Gundam fans can't comprehend Layzner or Dragonar.
No it's not.
It's like saying "This is for an audience/has a tone that isn't what hardcore Gundam UC fags are used to. Deal with it"
I think it's obvious what he means when he says this isn't for UC fags.
Victory Gundam wasn't made for UC fags, Turn A Gundam wasn't made for UC fags.
This is going to be something so different than the typical Gundam formula is what I think he's getting at, this isn't some continuation of something in the tone of Unicorn or Zeta. It's gonna be another Turn A in that regard.
Which I am excited for.
It's fucking excellent. It's pretty much the definitive edition of the One Year War.
I'm pretty new to the Gundam franchise (watched Wing, Seed & Destiny and associated movies, and original), and I'm glad they're making it so far away that continuity won't matter.
I don't even know if I'll enjoy this, but I want to watch it.
>only watched Wing, Seed, & Destiny
>getting RAW Tomino
Get the fuck out of here and educate yourself.
>two worst entries in the franchise
All 8th MS has going for it is the fight sequences, the rest is shit
I've haven't seen quality bait in a while, and that isn't about to start now.
It's Gundam, Bandai is probably holding out for untold sums that no one would want to pay. I bet FUNi wants Wing so they can sell to plebs but they won't let them license it alone without perhaps some package deal.
Such a strong bait that turned shakti white.
>Bandai was releasing Turn A over in the states
>Bandai America went under before it could come out
Why don't ?
In victory black women were sexy as fuck and black man classy and good looking.
That series could've been called Gundam blacks for the amount of black people involved.
Turn A Gundam.
Protag is black, and from the moon.
He's also one of the best Gundam protagonists.
>tfw I like Stardust Memory due to sexy ass animation, music, and fight sequences
>know it's love story is kind of shit but I like the finale twist
>it's always considered the worst due to the fucking love story
Kills me how much they got it right in Gundam X.
Let's post the original too just in case.
Actually, the compilation movies are pretty well done, the major plot points are all there and it looks better than the original series
But the beach episode is still obligatory
Off the top of my head.
Mobile Suit Gundam (79') >= 08th MS Team > 0080 > Stardust Memory > Zeta Gundam > ZZ Gundam > Char's Counter Attack > Unicorn > F91 > Crossbone Gundam > Victory Gundam
Then Turn A.
S' cool, not really gundam but more of "what if gundam was a super robot show"
G-Reco - Really unlikely to become something akin to G Gundam
GBF Try - Pretty much G Gundam but with gunplas instead of giant robots, so i'd recommend that
Hmmm, I suppose I agree. I think was beng a bit of a nostalgiafag there. Not a UC nostalgia fag but more of part of history of anime kind.
I really loved seeing 0079 as a case study into the art styles and animation techniques of the time, stuff like why pick explosions really fascinated me. If you're just watching it for the story then the movies are much better option.
You mean Moonrace. There aren't any black people with naturally white hair and blue eyes.
Of course, it's a moronic point to try to compare fake races to real ones. All we need to know about Loran is that he's delicious, delicious brown.
Just remember: It's not gay when he's a girl. Especially when his name's Kamille.
Yeah, but are they going to be able to recreate the emotional tension and weight of those fights?
Also the last two episodes were 10/10 for damn sure.
>LITERALLY calling him Ramba with no ambiguity to it
>What is the last thing we know happens in UC?
Nigga do you not know that magna and G-SAVIOUR are things? Hell, G-SAVIOR takes place a hundred damn years after victory.
Do you remember which series the scene of a Zaku getting lit up by Type 61s sitting on an overpass is from? I don't even have an image to reverse search and I can't think of anything.
it also had the best gundam designs
>No, I mean literally, what are the last recorded things to happen that we know of without getting Turn A involved?
>I didn't ask what SERIES. What are the last known actions of any living person or thing in UC?
Someone asked Tomino recently. Something along the line of "How did UC era end?"
To which Tomino said "don't ask me, ask Regild Century historians".
It is pretty clear Tomino is deliberately not focusing on how UC ended, because it isn't the fault of the FINAL generation of UC citizens that their era ended so badly. It was the combined fuckups of everyone in UC that repeated WW2 and Space Nazis every generation for centuries until everyone died. You can't blame the last few UC soldiers for the mess previous generations left behind.
Overrated more like it.
It's got one of the worst fanbases who think it's the best super robot show in existence and wish other Gundam shows were like it.
I wish that they would remake F91 again just so we could have that brutal colony combat in HD.
UC but not zeon, Animation was top notch, Cool grunt designs on both sides and brutal combat to go with it, seriously the entire opening combat scene is a highlight of the franchise and what F91 could have been.
