Why is /a/ so bad recently?
Is it because Nurutu is ending and newfags are swarming the place?
Will they eventually leave.
Please tell me they will. I can't take this much longer.
I know we had all that already now and then. But its been so much lately.
But Fate has been /a/ for years. And I was here for MOU IKKAI
The chunni fags didn't stick around, I think. And Kek le Kek died pretty fast.
>Implying it was
The fuck is bitterchan
Its not because of natardo
its because of 4ch being on the news
and ll the cleb nude shit
then nutjob retarded anons tried to make other "4ch-like" sites because of moots "dmca"
Shit like this has happened before
give it a year and 4ch will be back to normal
Why are VNshitters so utterly cancerous? Worst medium by far, designed for braindamaged otaku who have developed such a tolerance to their fanservice drug they need maximum doses of self insertion
yeah not like the hordes of faggots shitting up the board with their fate/garbage is annoying nooo it's ~~~~ the spoilers ~~~ for some terrible fucking cringeworthy otakugarbage
I agree it's pretty bad right now. Hopefully it'll change soon but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Not when /b/ is constantly doing something that gets 4chan in the news and definitely not when we have people that just keep spoonfeeding.
because you're browsing at the start of straya time and it's nearly summer there, ya cunt
Just move to infinitechan whatever, "it's the better site".
>so explain to me when this golden age of /a/ was and what made it so epiq?
All the good posters from SomethingAwful left and came here, and for a while they were a large % of the board. then they were diluted. Now there are no good communities left
No, but pretending that you have some sort of superior taste because you watched FLCL is the typical /v/ermin thing to do.
Now, there's nothing wrong with liking serious anime, but even then there's no point in decrying fanservice or whatnot. Everyone likes some braindead stuff to go with their more serious interests, I'll watch Milky Holmes some days and Takarajima on another. Hell, some fantastic fucking series have been made under the guise of "inane" fanservice.
Only 15-year old kids think they have "superior taste" because they just watch "serious" anime. Truly good taste is accepting that you need some silliness to go with the seriousness, and that true depth is in variety, NOT Ergo Proxy.
It was like this while Kill la Kill was airing.
also /a/ has been shit since 2010
who sai d anything about moe you stupid fucking worthless piece of subhuman garbage
all you can do is project and attack strawmen
you can't defend anything objectively on its own grounds
It is because a lot of things OP
All those horny teenagers in the threads.
I remember when /a/ prided itself on being better than the other big boards
Fuck off, newfriend.
VNs aren't SUPPOSED to be extremely engaging narratives, they're supposed to be comforting and romantically fulfilling, with a side of story.
People who understood and respected board culture and newfags who actually take the time to lurk to understand board culture.
No stupid bullshit like asking to be spoonfed, no stupid shit like "wow did u hear that Miku was on O'Brien..." when it hardly brings any discussion at all.
I'm not saying that there were no shit threads; there is, but it's to an acceptable level. These days, however.
>One thread proves that everything is shit all the time.
I doubt you could cherrypick harder if you tried. I get that /a/ has had problems for a while, I've been here for a while, but if you think it hasn't gotten worse recently you're blind, retarded, or both.
The days were people lurked and every body shitted on the guy that was clearly a newfag. It was also where other boards were not infested with a shit load of newfags that would come to /a/ when a new hipster anime gory anime would air.
Lurk moar has effectively disappeared and a lot of newfags thinking posting on /a/ like on some other boards is okay.
I also blame it on smartphones. I'm less inclined to believe well thought out posts comes from posters on smartphones. And no, I'm not blaming all smartphones users and there's also nothing wrong with smartphones. However when posts are beginning to read like shitty text bites, it starts to be a problem with proper discussion.
I agree it's way shittier than usual in the short term. It also coincided perfectly with the beginning of current season, which I'm finding the shittiest season since the last 2 or 3 years. I don't think that's a coincidence.
Look, if you've never played a VN, and have no interest in trying one, that's fine. No self-respecting anime fan hates on them unilaterally, only casuals do. Once you've seen enough anime, of course you'll find something you like that happens to be connected to a VN.
There's nothing in the world that's entirely, unilaterally bad, and your post shows that you really don't understand it. Are you willing to listen to listen to an argument against your point, or do you just want to shitpost against VNs?
Also, I don't think newfags from Naruto are that bad. They have a pretty decent count of either fucking off, or learning how to into /a/. Thankfully Naruto is ending, but I think SnK is probably worse, since it managed to sneak in, and will have a general for a long time.(Snkfags are new Narutofags)
What the fuck are you talking about. Naruto crossboarderfags keep making shitty threads saying if you are happy or sad it is ending every fucking day. Also newfags think naruto threads are for dubs.
I wonder where all the good posters in /a/ went. Infinitychan is too fresh with /v/ and I'm certain that's not where the good posters went.
People used to post in accordance to Global Rule 6. Do newfags nowadays even read the rules?
Also is it just me or the number of tripfags are increasing?
Anime is becoming mainstream for the first time really since 4chan was founded (blame Crunchyroll), starting with SAO and SnK bringing over faggots from /v/. It got worse with Space Dandy and the influx of /co/ which was already overrun by faggotry. /b/ recently brought a lot of attention to the site bringing even more normalfags.
With the influx of cancer, /a/ started spoonfeeding making the cycle worse. This was the last bastion of "LURK MORE" but even that seems to have stop being used.
>The medium is objectively bad
If you honestly believe that, there's no debating with you. There's nothing in the world that's completely one way or the other, and if you think so that just means you're a fanatic with no room for dissenting opinions. There's no point in debating with someone who has their mind make up.
Do you acknowledge the possibility that you may be wrong, and the medium MIGHT not be objectively bad?
>n-no true animefanman
I'm just saying, your stance is one generally connected to people without much experience in anime. If you've really seen 1k anime, and still are this hard-line against VNs, then praise be to you.
Yes, because a daily Saber thread, and several other fate threads are so much different(P.S it averages at about 3-5 depending on the day). Naruto is ending, they'll stop posting threads after the movie.
Only /v/fags and hipsterfags went to infinitychan. Newfags dont read the rules anymore because nobody tells them too. All of the shit poster on /a'/ come from other shitty boards where they lost their way a long time ago.
>I also blame it on smartphones...
That actually kinda makes sense. Bad grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Then there's improperly quoting a post too. Smartphone ironically shitpost instead of quoting the real text since it's faster. All the shitposters tend to share the common signs of texts.
Is it perhaps time to leave and let /a/ degrade even further with the loss of such obvious quality poster as you are? /a/ and imageboards in general are too turbulent, the model itself makes it extremely hard to keep it good once it has gained enough renoun so i doubt it can be salvaged.
And it occured to me, what does it even mean, good or bad?
What should /a/ be like for you to consider it good?
/a/'s been terrible for 6 years, congrats on finally noticing.
Hey, you know what never change on this board? People decrying its decay every. Single. Year.
Just go to wizardchan or something where I can guarantee you will get less normalfaggotry and about 1000 times the autism.
If you're however deluding yourself that the experience will be radically better, then whatever, man.
Not that I mind the thread too much. People crying about the shitty state of /a/ is one of the core parts of it.
I know, OP. This has been the worst year since 2007, and at least back then it was just because we were young and wanted to keep our secret club manly. The amount of normalfaggotry, rec threads, cancerous shit all around. I've seen at least 10 posts in the last DAY talking about how they just finished fucking Evangelion for the first time. I hope things eventually die down, because while this place has always been shit, it's been REALLY fucking bad in the last month or two, and the last week has been hell.
We all know that and we have seen /a/ quality go up and down. The last time it was good was in early 2013. If we dont keep up telling newfags to go fuck off we will never bring quality up.
Just slap a pair of googly eyes at the top of the board and be done with it.
I actually like it, I just forgot my reaction image.
I can kind of believe that regarding smart phones, but they are shitposters after all. Their posts might be actually of such poor quality, that you'd think they were texting on their smartphone. Shitposters are not interested in contributing to discussion and only wish to consume media like they would at some other place.
I spent almost all of my time posting from a smartphone in 2014. Are you talking about the kind of newfag retards who don't probably spell everything out? They do that at a regular computer, as well.
>caring about what other people do
The path to enlightenment lies in complete apathy, anon.
Yeah anon, I browse over a dozen boards
TRY AND STOP ME
See, what do posts like these actually say? They disagree with me, but they're not defending /a/'s current quality, nor are they point out how it might still be good. They're just shitposting and throwing a bunch of personal insults around, as well as cancerous normalshit.
As I see it, there are crossboarders or /v/ residents or whatnot who want to come to /a/, but don't quite feel at home with the lurk moar mentality or the elitism. They don't like to think of themselves as shitposting, or don't think of it as a big deal. No one thinks of themselves as the bad guys, after all.
For them, imagining that /a/ has always been shit, and making it more shit is a good thing. They feel more at home, and don't feel guilty for being outcast or being the ONLY shitposter.
There's a reason the shitposters are ALL talking about how crap /a/ has always been, or how it doesn't matter. In the end flinging shit just makes them more comfortable.
That's exaggerating. It was bad in 2007 too. Unless you've forgotten the DESU spam and other annoying crap.
Fate isn't cancer, fate has always been /a/. I don't even like it, but it certainly has a home here.
Man, I was looking through 2008-09 images of bans, and it made me sad. You used to be banned for being a shitposter, not encouraged to stay. A rec thread would get you a 3 day, and then you'd read the fucking rules and lurk. It's embarrassing that we don't have any mods anymore.
meta threads only happen when /a/ is becoming shit. When quality is low or when a huge amount of faggots come to /a/. Newfags need to read this thread and know what not to do.
Some may blame the mods, but you're right. The amount of self-moderation has diminshed to a halt.
The amount of influx of crossboarders have also increased. Thanks to KlK, SnK and not to mention fucking JoJo. Shounen-threads also have its share of posts that are in bad taste.
There is nothing wrong with that.
Behaving like you are on /b/, complaining about threads you don't like or even worse, not even being able to use the fucking catalog is the actual problem, for all I care "you could get a life" just don't blog about that shit in here, it's not relevant.
Oh no 4chan is truly dead now for the billionth fucking time since its inception. Things were so mucj better back in [the year when I firstj oined this site]!
Every fucking meta thread since forever.
4chan didnt get worse, you simply grew disillusioned with the board/sites supposed quality and can finally see that it sucks.
Shouen threads use to be hated and people would tell them to fuck off and to only make them when the manga come out. Now they have a thread everyday and even fucking fairy tale has 400+ posts from time to time. I went to an snk thread the other day and it was full of tumblrfags.
There's more to it than that
/a/'s hobbies aren't exactly normal or accepted by normals. You can be normal, and post, but in when in Rome, speak Latin, and don't be a moralfag or anything.
Plus normals tend to be more casual, and that's annoying.
I dunno how long you've been here for, but fate has been here for longer than the word "cancer."
You brought this upon yourselves. Don't go into an autism fit now. I know your kind is prone to bottling up hatred like Elliot rodgers
I'm not leaving either lol I find the rare 2-3 good series each season and just funpost in the other active series just like /jp/ does. You know them right?
No, meta threads ARE the cancer. You want /a/ to be better? Then stop whining like a little bitch you are and start actually good anime-related conversation, or at least go report some rule-breaking faggets.
Just look at the 3x3 threads and you can see what people are on /a/ nowadays.
Pretty much ANN like taste, with huge anti moe sentiment and dark/gray thematic anime where having cute girls are considered a negative trait.
This is your future /a/, you did this yourself.
>They do that at a regular computer, as well.
That's what I'm hoping because if smart phones are getting people to communicate with retarded text bites, that's really disturbing.
>Fate isn't cancer, fate has always been /a/. I don't even like it, but it certainly has a home here.
Like almost every single franchise, a thread's quality is better when there are less fans. Sure, Fate has been on /a/ for some time, but when many strangers latch on to the show and its threads, then it's understandable why some people are very annoyed.
You are so obviously new it hurts. The problem isn't anime going mainstream, it's shitty posts like yours. You don't even try to form a normal sentence. This is what >>115775910 is talking about.
>what is this?
>what show is this?
Are you retarded? Mods wont do shit to those fags anymore and you can only start good anime related conversations when a show airs. Talking about board quality is important. Mods would even read these and make a sticky about how to fix board quality. Now they dont do shit.
Just how bored are you? Are you actually having fun or is it just something you say to yourself?
I know. Though I consider One Piece to be among my favorites, I can't endure the amount of shitposting in the threads. The problem is people feel the need to constantly have at least one thread up around the clock. Constant threads and generals leads nothing else than shipping, waifu and shitposting.
I report almost every rule-breaking newshit post I see, and NOTHING happens. The mods fucking banned me a few weeks ago for posting an onahole box, but they don't ban someone saying they're still in high school. It's fucking sick.
>Just two years ago you would get ban for saying you browse other boards.
Hahahaha. I still stand by the belief that newfags ar the actual "nostalgiafags" on here.
You weren't even her 2 years ago, or you memory is very confused.
I got banned once for reporting too many posts and threads.
>implying we're going to put the name in filename like a faggot.
>I'm not gonna name an Ichigo picture, Bleach like a faggot, I might name it Ichigo MAYBE.
>Being this bad at shitposting aswell.
That's fucking disgusting.
>Lol onahole damn dude you're a real hyperNEET you would be the one to drink "DA rules!!!!" Koolaid
You type like you're 14 years old. I didn't post an actual picture, it was a censored box from a website selling it.
Im pretty sure its just a crossboarders meta shitposting.
But then again it amuses me that someone would get so butthurt and respond to those posts. I dont blame them and you could've just ignored it.
Not when retards overkill shit. 4chan cant do fun stuff like that anymore because it will only attract the worst kind of people. I rather have an elite board then a /v/ tier one.
>...because they assume people aren't stupid, or newfaggy to do that.
That's actually kind of sad. Posters make terrible posts thinking that it's okay and others misunderstand thinking it's a stupid troll. Then the terrible posts begin to outnumber quality ones.
I wonder what it's like coming to an imageboard not to have fun, but to take everything seriously and form some sort of identity that you think you and everyone else has to conform to.
And these seriousness-mongers always seem to be new and trying desperately to fit in. They see a few elitist posts and assume that everyone is that anal.
I check the bans page pretty frequently and I honestly think there's only one mod focusing on reports from /a/. Bans are always few and far between and usually for NSFW stuff, but around 4-5 AM there's a mass banning of /a/ posts, most of which were posted hours ago, and then nothing else. It sucks because the moderation here used to be at least somewhat consistent through the day.
>And these seriousness-mongers always seem to be new and trying desperately to fit in.
This. Everyone actually trying to push this agenda this hard are just people who have been here a few months to a year who are desperately trying to fit in.
The second anon I replied to obviously doesn't have fun, worrying about making sure his images never have filenames. And yes, elitism as in ignoring casual shit is obviously okay because it makes more fun by only acknowledging series that are actually worth a good discussion.
