Let me just get the best one out of the way real quick.
Me too, I'm kind of glad Kubo decided what he was actually trying to write. Early Bleach had something of an identity crisis and trying to be too many things at once wouldn't have been sustainable.
Greatest OP of the 2000's. Prove me wrong.
I wasn't a big fan of the show but I loved Eureka's OPs
And don't forget all those characters that seemingly just disappeared as soon as their plots were over, almost never to be seen or even mentioned again. It's almost like some of them never even existed at all.
No it didn't! Tatsuki had the Childhood friend! Even if she wasn't going to win the Ichigobowl, nor did I want it, doesn't mean she wasn't a bad-ass who should have stuck around.
Of course Even Orihime and Sado became useless until the next power up.

Am I autistic for liking J-rock?
Maybe you should try watching more than 10 anime before posting on /a/.
Thanks, I need good action anime, my whole backlog is moe and drama
Maybe you should kill yourself instead of having an awful opinion on anime openings.
I didn't say that SnK's OPs were bad, I said that you haven't seen enough anime to know that they're merely above average and not favorite-worthy by any standard.
I'll say it again: watch more anime before posting on /a/, you fucking faggot.
>merely above average
> favorite-worthy by any standard
Having a taste this fucking awful, wouldn't be /a/ without it.
It's weird to think about how much has changed. At that point, hollows were the only known antagonist, with the soul society soon following. Now it's all about Luchador Nazi Archers who can imagine your bones into cookies, while turning an army into zombies.
no need for crying
Oh, wonderful. Now you're calling people novices when your own powerlevel is so low that you hold SnK's OPs on some kind of pedestal. It's especially funny because its first OP wasn't even the best of the season.
Wait hold the fuck on
I was looking for the bleach wiki to look up what the hell happened since I last watched, and I found these
What the fuck is this, it reminds me of the sonic fanon wiki
Also sorry for off-topic
I understand Naru yeah. Motoko is fine and all, but still it was really obvious she had no chance.
Isn't this also the only harem anime where the "oneesan" wins? Onegai Teacher doesn't count.
Haven't seen all of Bleach yet, but so far the first 3 OP's were the best. Am I wrong?
Actually so glad they didn't change the song for S2
Re-watching this atm, goddamn I just can't skip this opening.
>nobody posted TWGoK
>nobody posted YnS
>nobody posted Jibuun WOOO
You disappoint me, /a/. All of you.
christ that show was so good! It hurts!
Not an OP and don't care for the vocals but anything that starts with that basic japanese guitar riff and cameras going really going fast through tunnels always gets the OVA in my head going.
I enjoy the singers voice more then anything.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hz4RiURBhQE (although SWG's ED is better than its OP)
Best of this year:
Shuffle! of course. Now that I think about it, it really is the only one. I might be missing some but in a pure harem show I'm about 90% sure only Shuffle! had an oneesan win.
I need another oneesan win goddammit.
All of the '99 openings are amazing, though. Departure kind of grew on me, but
are OPs I will never forget.
Yeah it was. Few episodes in and I was thinking that it is quite impossible for her not to win.
Final arc was dumb yes but in the anime it still scared the shit out of me because it was the first time I saw a yandere.
The PPD OPs
I prefer the second OP's music, but visually they were all amazing.
God bless shitty youtube quality.
ef- a tale of memories
ef- a tale of melodies
Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok
>tfw you will never listen to Asterisk for the first time ever again
fuck that shit
god damn I remember having a background of Senbonzakura Kageyoshi on my computer for ages
Man, Tatami Galaxy speaks more and more to me with every year that passes. It's got a simple messages, which I suppose is why it doesn't get much discussion, but I really feel it doesn't come recommended often enough.
I'll add these as well:
King of Bandits Jing
Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne
ok it was quite cartoon-ish and humorous. It had a lot of characters popping in and out, a lot of action in a lot of different scenes that ending up with the woman desperately trying to cover up herself. Hmm
>NO DAN DAN KOKORO HIKARETEKU
EASILY THE BEST THING DRAGON BALL GT GAVE US, ALSO EASILY A GOD TIER OPENING
makes me tear up for some reason
Some of my fav
Hey /m/ how are you doing?
One of the few OPs where visuals and the song fit extremely well with the theme of the story. Everything an good OP should be.
Retro OPs and EDs are the best.
>Bleach will never be about spooky mysteries, outcast/punk japanese teenagers, and fashion centering around customers of a tiny laundromat in a tokyo suburb
>It will never be the successor to YYH
>it had to be about mexicans and swords
>Hyouka OP1 (ChouCho - Yasashisa no Riyuu)
second one had a greater video, but the song wasn't as good
>Noucome OP (Afilia Saga - S.M.L.)
>Rail Wars! OP (Chihara Minori - Mukai Kaze ni Utare nagara)
>Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou OP (fhana - Itsuka no, Ikutsuka no Kimi to no Sekai)
>Monogatari 2nd season OP3 (Hanazawa Kana - Mousou Express)
>Kokoro Connect OP2 (Masaki Imai - Kimi Rhythm)
Sorry, but couldn't find the TV edit anywhere
>Lucky Star OP (Aya Hirano, Emiri Katou & Kaori Fukuhara - Motteke! Sailor Fuku)
Sue me, it's catchy as fuck
>Mikakunin de Shinkoukei OP (Mikakuning! - Tomadoi Recipe)
>Uchouten Kazoku OP (milktub - Uchouten Jinsei)
>Kakumeiki Valvrave OP2 (Mizuki Nana x T.M.Revolution - Kakumei Dualism)
>Bleach OP12 (Miwa - Change)
>Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova OP (nano feat. MY FIRST STORY - SAVIOR OF SONG)
>Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-kun OP (Ooishi Masayoshi - Kimi ja Nakya Dame Mitai)
>Arakawa Under the Bridge OP 2 (Miyuki Sawashiro - Title nante Jibun de Kangaenasaina)
>Guilty Crown OP1 (Egoist - My Dearest)
Otherwise annoying voice, but really great in this song imo
>Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai OP (Tomodachi Tsukuritai - Zannenkei Rinjinbu)
>Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W OP (Ushiro kara Haiyori-tai G - Koi wa Chaos no Shimobenari)
>Digimon Adventure S1 OP (Wada Kouji - Butter-fly)
>Amnesia OP (Yanagi Nagi - Zoetrope)
God fucking damnit I love Nagi's songs
Lilium is elder god tier opening, shame it was reused so often.
Umineko OP is pretty top tier. Sounds like shit is about to go down hard.
>come and save me
The nostalgia hits hard.
Cmon, can't beat this
>Not even posting the actual OP
Are you even trying?
When the Soul Society and afterlife itself stopped being some ambiguous thing and instead became something with an explanation for everything.
The series should've never left the world of the living. They could've condensed the stuff with Aizen down to a few volumes/cours at most and made the story more contained. Don't introduce too many characters, concepts, or storylines. Keep it simple. Don't explore too deep into every single working. Don't do too much world building.
Bleach just had too much of everything and that's what went wrong.
Because the ambiguity of the afterlife was a good thing when it came to Bleach. Instead every little detail was explained to us and kinda removed the "magic" of the series.
Sometimes you've gotta know when to stop and leave the rest up to the imagination of the readers/viewers when building a world. The idea of Soul Reapers was nice, and even introducing ranks would've been fine, but maybe instead of throwing us into the Soul Society you could've had Aizen and maybe a couple other Captains come down to the world of the living and let the plot unfold down here.
All the Blood+ OP's are great. The OP 3 is my favorite.
I wish nagai sideburns and 80s anime character fros would be in style again
Can't believe the threads gone on this long without anybody posting these.
Its hard to find old op on youtube
Air gear is one of those animes where its like, oh right i watched that. Why did it get canceled anyways? it was bretty good somehow
Some more mostly older stuff because old OPs and EDs are awesome.
all of my yes
EZ WIN https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgTfWdwnCbE
>One of the best openings
>The full song is completely different
I can't wait until the next episode. It's better with the lyrics though.
Please, don't make me get back into Monogatari stuff
Kubo's main problem is that he makes good characters, but he makes way too many so they never get enough pagetime and character development.
Now he's completely lost it with these nobody quincies no one will remember.
Openings are gud though.
>what am I doing with my life?
Thanks for reminding me they also did this.
>Worst girl gets best OP
Shoujo S was best Bleach OP
>not YOU ARE SHOCK
no no no no no
>[YouTube] Samurai X (Rurouni Kenshin) Opening 1 (embed)
1/2 was better, much better
>[YouTube] Gantz opening 1 HD (embed)
Alright, I won't pick through the whole thread...
Gurren Lagaan was one of the few robot shows I actually got into.
People here like to be contrarian and hate on it, but a bit of hot bloodedness every once in a while isn't a bad thing.
If they would just create spin off series for these other characters to do things in then it would be justifiable. They should have been on point with that and spun off a soul society series focused on one of the captains (probably Hitsugaya's or Ukitake's in my opinion) since before the Arrancar arc. It wouldn't be hard in the slightest for Kubo to create a expanded universe for Bleach.
The OP is excellent (I like all the Uverworld OPs I've heard, Ao Exorcist and Bleach had good ones by them too, and I know I'm forgetting another notable one) but I really don't care for the Blood series.
RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY!
It sucks and based Shaft gave us 24 better OPs a year earlier.
Some parts of that OP were good, but it never felt like top tier material to me. The visuals were decent though.
147 episodes in and I'm still not tired of it.
^Kaiki best girl OP
All of the Kuroko OPs
And the obvious ^
Also STAR DUST CRUSADERS
ORE NO NEDAN WO DARE GA KIMETA
Although I prefer the English dubbed opening.
God I miss this shit.
That feeling when I never get to experience the feeling of watching Champloo the first time again.
More of an ED but whatever, still glorious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhFHlsEeuVw
The first season of Magi was so damn good, I wish it kept the arabian nights adventure setting and didn't turn into Harry Potter, the first opening is definitely god-tier.
I'll just post some really good ones from shows I've watched this year.
(Space Brothers Opening 1)
(Gintama Ending 8)
(Gash Bell Ending 4)
Boy do I agree. At some point it lost that mystica Arabian setting that I really enjoyed and went into "muh factions". I still enjoy it but I wish they fleshed out the former part a little longer, I felt that the transition could have been better.
Nice to see someone with a similar opinion since a lot of people I know disagree wholeheartedly.
The beginning had so much mystery and fun, The Hogwarts arc, specially near the end, felt like One Piece Impel Down just way earlier then it should of been, so many characters appeared that we're supposed to care about but we know almost nothing about them so it had no real impact, oh, this is a king from that country, that's cool, who the hell is he? and this all happened in an arc that didn't have nearly as much charm as the beginning did.
Alibaba training at the arena could of been the coolest thing ever but they skip his time there completely and next time we see him, he's powered up.
Still trying to stay optimistic, I just hope no arc is as bad as the wizard one was.
on the off chance it didn't get posted, here's my favorite
I wouldn't say Hogwarts was bad. I think it was disappointing compared to what we've seen before.
Concerning characters, at the beginning, introducing new characters seemed meaningful; for example, I thought Cassim was a good villain throughout his arc and they never really had to add more than that, other than reintroducing characters (Judar) or revealing ones that had been unknown before (weapons guy).
Hogwarts arc went kind of bloated and decided to drop two of the four remaining Magis on us when they could have taken time to introduce them one by one. On top of that we had so many "villains" that it seemed a bit disorganized. And then we had about 7 new Kou empire people that didn't do much or were bland.
Let's hope from this point on the current cast list is just built upon, which will be hard to do meaningfully since there are so many of them to cover.
I think I'm just butthurt because a lot of the things I wanted to happen, didn't, and a lot of the things that did happen, felt like an info dump, however, the main villain of Magnostadt was pretty great.

Yeah, this is the biggest problem I had with it, too many damn character were introduced at once, some of these characters could of had entire arcs to themselves but they were all just shoved into one place and I didn't really care about any of them.
It feels like there's so much to cover now that they've introduced so many characters at once but the main cast is so powerful it looks like it's going to be like OP/Bleach/Naruto and everyone will just cycle through power-ups from time to time.
Haven't seen any of these series yet
>Cromartie High School
I can't help but feel that I'm the only person that really liked this show and opening.
It's probably in my top three favorite anime. Just hit so many strings.
I know most people prefer OP1, but this will always be my favorite opening for the series. Then again all of them are damn good.
And then there's this, which I have to say is a special case where the TV size version is actually really leaps and bounds inferior to the full version when it's the opposite in many cases today.
is this nigga serious ?
