Let's be real for a thread, did Type Moon lose it's charm? What do they even do now besides milk and take their old characters and sexualize them?
I'm alive to see Hoenn remakes but I'm pretty sure I won't live to see Tsukihime remake, much less part 2 and 3 to Mahoyo. And let's not even touch upon the translating. I'd happily make fun of secondaries too, but I also envy them. They will never know the pain and suffering of the primaries.
>did Type Moon lose it's charm?
I'm not sure about that, but Fate definitely has. By now, I'm pretty fucking sick of that godforsaken franchise and wish both T-M and /a/ could move on.
Say what you will about early Nasu's technical writing skills, but all I want is more material in the tradition of Tsukihime, KnK and DDD.
Fate Zero is the best type moon property because it doesn't decide to get brought down by anime character tropes which other type moon works have (tsundere, brother complex borderlining on incest, loli, harem-esque settings, etc...).
I agree with >>116913637 Fate has definitely lost it's charm. They should take a break and come up with something better instead of so much half-baked content.
Isnt a new Fate Extra game is in work right now? And there's still FSF and HF anime to go. As long as it's making money, they're not going to stop milking Fate anytime soon.
Also Fate/Grand Order. You're right, they show no signs of stopping- it's just way too profitable.
>character tropes which other type moon works have (tsundere, brother complex borderlining on incest, loli, harem-esque settings, etc...).
It's kind of interesting to note that the frequency of those character tropes increased roughly linearly with H content and with the need to sell material (the very early stuff like KnK and DDD had one or none of the tropes you mentioned and no H content, but by the time we get to F/SN both are in full force). Money is the root of T-M's issues.
Nobody really bothers translating Type Moon properties anymore. There's the two guys translating Apocrypha but that's about it. Imagine if that guy never compiled that HA patch, who knows where it'd be at now.
Mahoyo taking from an announcement of imminent release in 2008 and taking until 2012 to release was already a sign of TM just being complatent with how they milked Fate. The remake better be out by next year for Tsukihime.
I guess this a good place to ask instead of making my own thread.
I'm currently playing through F/S:N for the first time and I'm at the choice where you
revoke your command spell. My question is, are there any worthwhile bad ends to watch and are all the tiger dojos worth watching? Also going for Rin first.
Pretty sure they straight up admitted in an interview that all the Fate stuff at this point is just blatant secondary-pandering to generate the cash they need to develop the niche stuff all the primaries want (but won't sell as well).
But that plan went off the rails when Nasu bought a PS4 and WiiU instead.
Would you still read it, if it's not translated from original Japanese but from another language? i.e. Japanese > Chinese/French/etc > English
Like the epilogue to the Tsukihime manga. That one was translated from French.
Look up a flowchart. Getting all the tiger stamps earns you a bonus scene, it's good for completionists and overall a good extra imo. Might as well gun for them, you have plenty of save slots anyway.
Sorry to disappoint (I actually am not but props for trying) but no Rin 4 u until you plow through Saber route first.
You can't go for Rin first unless you're specifically using the UBW Realta Nua game or have a completed save file.
Also yes, bad ends are relevant to the story, characterization, and lore.
Well then what the fuck does all these points get me? And I am following the flowchart included with the
Can I overwrite the save once I get through the tiger dojo?
It just seems like the 'give up' bad end just seems like a shitty one.
Getting points avoids a bad end lock. If you don't get enough points you get auto-locked into a bad end for Fate route iirc, but you have to REALLY be trying to ignore Saber for that to happen. UBW I think it has to do with getting the good or true end. Can't remember, it's been too long.
How have you been saving? It's usually suggested to save at every decision point (as a new one or over your current one, whichever). Once you get the bad end the stamp is gained and the data is saved, you get sent back to the menu after at which point you can reload the decision and pick up from where you left off.
The "give up" bad end at the start gets you killed actually, if memory serves.
Fuck, I haven't been saving before every choice because it seemed like they were just for getting gurl points. But that was early into the game so I shouldn't have a problem just doing a new game when I go for those girls right?
Up to you, you can just keep going at this point since you need to go through Fate anyway (to unlock UBW), and it's still early enough that the choices don't really make significant impact/lead to a direct bad end. Giving up your command spells and quitting at the Church should be the first point, so you haven't missed out on much.
Besides, there's the option to quick skip any text/section you've already read (gonna happen in UBW - the start is very similar to Fate), and I think that should already be kicking in if you save right now and start a new game. Feel free to check your settings and test.
I actually like the story in Melty blood, mostly due to the fact that there are so many people just hanging around that town that they could tell endless stories with the set-up they have.
I think Type-Moon is more or less happy to whore most of their works to the highest bidder regardless of quality. The actual factor here is Aniplex. They can afford to get rights, and they can also afford to front really ambitious adaptations. Going from Garden of Sinners to Fate/Zero was no coincidence, and I'll be surprised if Aniplex doesn't have another major Type-Moon project lined up for Ufotable in the near future...
So I'm at the point where you choose whether to
team up with Rin or not.and it shows that I can get the solo tag but that it leads into UBW. Can I not do that choice until I clear Fate? What does the Solo tag do specifically?
I can't really tell you what will happen, but I can guarantee you that you have to do Fate to unlock UBW, and then Heaven's Feel.
I think you get a bad end in UBW if you don't complete Fate first.
Even he speaks of it like it's some far off dream. Mahoyo 1 took 5 years, he's supposedly going to go back to DDD after Mahoyo 2 +3, Fate/Extra CCC, and the Tsukihime remake is done. George Martin might finish ASOIAF before that happens.
Alright. So I can still go into UBW but I won't be able to get good ends without completing Fate?
I'm assuming each arc has to do with the different girls. UBW for Rin, HF for Ilya, and Fate for Saber?
Its crazy that I can shift from one arc into another by just a choice instead of starting at the start of the arc. All these choices nigga.
Nasu is too busy playing Souls games to write more than an average of three words per day. I'm not on my desktop so I don't have it right now, but there's a great interview where nasu says that if there were two of him, he wouldn't get twice as much writing done but would play twice as many games. He also once said that his origin is "games".
Uh, I'm trying to say that you'll get the fastest bad end ever if you try to go into UBW without fate. But yeah, Fate is Saber's route, but it also gives pretty much a lot of the base information you need. UBW is for
Heaven's Feel is for Sakura.
>Get to choice.
>Remember to save after I make a choice
Why do people want more of Tsukihime? Do you want them to ruin it and milk it like Fate? I'd rather not have the remake at all if it means it's going to go down the same path as Fate.
I didn't say "more Tsukihime", although I wouldn't mind getting that sequel as long as, like you said, it wouldn't end up going to the dairy farm like Fate. I want more things similar to Tsukihime in tone and style, since I really loved the early works because of those factors, things Fate departed from in a lot of ways.
Fate become too popular. Why make expand the universe when you can just make more spin-off and alternative universe shit?
The problem is that the franchise is expanding in width and not in length. After HA the universe has basically stopped and now all new material is recycling characters and plots.
Part of the problem is that now Type-Moon has had some success and released some relatively professionally done content, it's extremely unlikely that we'll get the sort of unrefined, unpolished and not optimized for maximum sales content that we did in the old days and that a lot of us love. Saying "well, you made Tsukihime on two dollars, hot pockets and energy drinks, spit another one out" won't get anywhere. They have an image to maintain.
Eh, I feel you should still get her some defense here and there just to be safe, at least to rank C but if you're feeling braver than I, glass canon run using her is doable from what I've read in various places.
>these parts look great
>the rest look like this
Deen needs to learn how to allocate a budget
Oh boy. Thanks anon.
Might take a break to play some VC.
>Dat day 5 with Fuji-nee and Sakura and Rin.
I kek'd heartily. I like all the VA's.
Shirou's kinda grates from time to time though.
>but some of the designs are just... yeesh.
Fuck this design just grew on me
