Do you think The Disappearance of Yuki Nagato will do well enough to justify them greenlighting a third season of Haruhi?
Yuki-chan honestly isn't very good and I don't think Haruhi is still popular enough that a mediocre spin-off that barely has anything in common with the original series will do that well/
there are other, more important factors to go into a potential season 3, which prevent it from being made. I think the hope that Yuki-chan could possibly lead to a season 3 is very naive. At this point, my greatest hope is that Yuki-chan will get an english dub with all of the same VAs, that'd be just wonderful.
I wouldn't mind it at all if they did the books on tape either.
I remember saying that they're going to gauge Haruhi fans by how much attention this gets and then season 3.But then again I don't think some anons will rise from their catacombs for a spin off, as most Haruhi fans have died of old age.
>>Do you think The Disappearance of Yuki Nagato will do well enough to justify them greenlighting a third season of Haruhi?
Probably not. The only way it could is if the author decided to return to writing the light novel series at around the same time that the Disappearance of Yuki anime started airing.
If their were a sudden resurgent interest in the light novels and if the Yuki anime does well, maybe they'd want to greenlight a season 3 for Haruhi or at least another movie.
I understand all of the legal and economic reasons why there will not be a season 3, but with such an immensely successful franchise as Haruhi, you would think they would try to find some ways around those reasons. I just seems to me that they're not even trying.
Here in America huge cash-cow franchises don't just sit on the shelf collecting dust. If there are legal set backs then they'll find a way around them, they'll re-negotiate contracts, reach compromises, buy copyrights, whatever it takes. If there are economic short comings then they'll rearrange their finances, find sponsors, acquire investors, ADVERTISE, it really doesn't matter where the money comes from as long as they know they'll make that money back.
Say what you will about 'murican industrial movie-making, at least our entertainment industry knows how to get shit done.
At this rate, we're more likely to get a westernized live action adaptation before a season 3.
I want to be in a abusive relationship with a Yuki
> english dub with all of the same VAs
I want this too. Haruhi is what turned me onto anime after I stumbled across it years ago while looking for porn or something. Fell in love with her straight away, but being in middle school I thought subs were weird and subsequently all my memories are all with the dubbed version.
Tell that to the Deadpool movie. The head jews at fox want it to be PG 13 like the wolverine movies so that they can try and reel in big dolla. Apparently there's been some big struggle with it.
I made this thread and was SHOCKED by the results.
Your comment might have made sense if endless 8 occurred after the movie. Which it didn't.
That's not even an issue when discussing "why there isn't a season 3", you incredibly silly person.
Hard to tell.
It certainly won't be as big of a thing of when season 2 aired.
Anyone have the image of /a/ the day before episode 1 and the day afterwards?
last episode of S2 aired at the end of 2009 and the movie came out early 2010. Even if BD sales flopped, they weren't going to stop the release of the movie, which was probably fully produced before the final set of BDs came out.
It's all about the forehead.
Your sacrifice won't go unremembered on this anime inspired image board.
the english dub was fucking great shut the fuck up faggot
