So Yammamoto is the oldest and strongest shinigami with the oldest and strongest zanpaktou?
What does that make this guy?
The father of names and apparent stronger being than Yama.
>So Yammamoto is the oldest and strongest shinigami with the oldest and strongest zanpaktou?
Nothing ever said that, the most he ever said is that no one has been born stronger than him in a thousand years.
Old Monk is the original Shinigami that named everything in that world. Yamamoto is the guardian of the Soul Society, strongest in the normal heaven realm. Monk is the strongest in super heaven who's older.
In Bleach aging is strange, some people just seem to stop aging while others do it fast. Depends on reiatsu apparently.
Yama never claimed to be the oldest or strongest, just that in the last thousand years no one has been born stronger.
>What does that make this guy?
My guess is that he's also part of the original 13 (Juha knew his name, so he must have been involved in the Quincy purge) but like all of his fellow Royal Gaurds, they get a reiatsu power up when they got promoted.
Yamamoto is not the oldest and strongest shingami ever. He never was.
Anyway, Bach will win the fight to keep the Last Boss status, for now
before Aizen does some keikaku and Soul King turns out to be the last boss.
>yoruichi has a sister
For what purpose kubo? Why introduce her now?
I thought they got promoted because they contributed something big to soul society (think of Nobel Prize winners).
Yama did nothing except burn down and caused havoc during his early days so he was never selected, even though he was probably the strongest pre-powerup shinigami.
I really don't think he's more powerful than Old Yama, both Aizen and Yhwach both had to take precautions when It came to Yama's Zanpaktou.
The Monk was fighting Yhwach blow for blow until now, he's got him on the ropes, but if Yama was allowed to go free with his powers he could easily destroy Yhwach without effort.
It has been stated multiple times that Yama's Zanpaktou is indeed the oldest and most powerful.
And I fail to see how Monk is going to be older than him, most of the Royal Guard have been already been hinted at being past captains, they'd have worked under Yama at some point, just because Yama is retaining his seat as Seireitei's figure head doesn't mean he's inferior to the royal guard at all.
Look at the fucking cover page It literally says "Color page for the climax of the final arc!"
Yhwach is clearly going to trash this monk guy, give or take a few chapters.
It's her brother.
That makes sense.
He never claimed to be the strongest ever, he was just the guy that formed a team to wrangle the chaos back into shape and no one born in a thousand years has been born stronger than him in that world who could think about taking his job.
Kenpachi was born about a thousand years ago in that world from what I recall, so he might have been the one counted as "Not since the last thousand years".
He's not a thousand years old, there were people over a thousand that could be stronger than him easily. People in his own generation. Unohana was from his generation as well apparently, yet she's aged incredibly well for her time.
He's never called himself the best ever, but no one in the recent years could challenge him at least. We don't even know how old he is at this point exactly.
Posting new Rukia chrimstmas 2014 outfit based on the manga that was shown today because people love it.
>Look at the fucking cover page It literally says "Color page for the climax of the final arc!"
That's to build hype, you know? There's still around 1 year left of Bleach, its impossible for the climax to happen right now.
>All these anons doubting Yamamoto's strength
Before this whole Monk business none of you would question Yamamoto's superiority, but because you can see Monk giving Yhwach a little trouble you're all too quick to jump to the conclusion that Yama is inferior.
It takes all 5 of the Royal Guard assembled to outmatch the entirety of the Gotei 13's military power, one Royal Guard alone isn't on Yama's scale, only Monk comes close.
Yama's bankai is as hot as the sun, without precaution he could've eliminated Yhwach easily, extended use would destroy soul society.
Don't tell me "Thats not the most powerful Zanpaktou"
Then may as well post this too, in case that tripfag comes back to translate the rest.
Translation by Royal. He'll probably translate the rest later.
Seems that Morita and Orikasa are at it again.
They're hoping that the anime will continue.
Orikasa: "I want to yell 'Bankai!' (laughs) When Rukia finally got a Bankai in the manga, Nii-sama (Kuchiki Byakuya)'s VA Okiayu Ryuutarou texted me 'Congratulations'. So I definitely want to shout 'Bankai' in the anime."
I miss these guys.
He was given the title to name all things by the Soul King, it doesn't mean he's been around forever.
Before him there might have been another assigned to naming things, the soul king himself perhaps?
Then again, with all that super reietsu up there it's possible the aging process is slower for those up there for extended periods.
Goddamn, last thread was so good.
Threadly reminder that's Monk leeching away of all black from Soul Society is unintentionally removing Aizen's bindings.
I only started this thread because the mods deleted the last one, perhaps some himefagmod got angry over baseless Rukia appreciation.
You're subconscious is putting two and two together. Stop being disgusting anon you sicko.
Nah, anon. It was probably deleted because of "General". I mean, it might work in /co/ but generals are looked down over here. So keep that in mind the next time you make a thread
I didn't make the last thread, I was just partaking in it, still, why are generals hated? I mean our Bleach threads ARE pretty much generals yet Anons get autistic over the word general? I'll never understand.
Untrue. Generals are up all the time. Bleach threads are only up when it's relevant. Discussion and threads stretch as long as they have this time only when we have something relevant to discuss, like a good chapter. As it should be.
I know, I mean, take a look at the catalog: The Akame ga Kill, Yu-Gi-Oh, Jojo, SnK. All of those work as generals too.The Naruto ones get deleted because they keep makng more than one, though, but they never name them as generals
Yamamoto is the one with the most firepower (hehe), Ichibei is the one with the most broken power. In bleach there are generally two kinds of fighters, the broken as fuck power users and the powerhouses. Everyone else is fodder. These two are the extremes of those two types from the shinigami faction.
Careful anon, this might turn into a shipping thread like the last one
which I'm fine with
Thanks, haven't seen that one before. I lost my Ichiruki and Rukia folder.
Also I don't really care. There's only two things to discuss during off times. All things Rukia, and when Aizen is returning.
Last thread turned into a straight up ichiruki thread if you want to go grab some stuff, was a good thread.
Are we starting this again?
You're forgetting the fundamental rule of becoming a Royal Guard.
It's not about strength, it's about productivity.
Each Royal Guard member invented something new and amazing that aided and helped shape soul society.
All Yamamoto ever did was destroy stuff, 1000 years ago Yama's bankai almost destroyed Soul Society, he's not fit to be a royal guard.
I don't think this thread is for you.
Yamamoto has the most destructive zanpaktou, if he touches you you die.
Ichibei has a pretty broken zanpaktou, if he releases it you die.
We haven't even seen his Bankai, so i will at the very least put Ichibei on the same tier as Yamamoto.
Byakuya, Gin, Shunsui's vice captain and Soi Fon are all about the same age, 100 years oldish.
Komamura and Tousen are 100+
Mayuri, Yoruichi, Urahara, Aizen and the vizards are whothefuckknows but probably around 200 if not more years old. Mayuri is probably pretty old since he knows spider royal guard.
Shunsui, Unohana and Ukitake are all over a thousand years old.
Zaraki is probably close to a thousand but no way to know for sure, we just know he was a kid when Unohana was still a crazy bitch.
>Being the first and founding member of the Gotei 13.
>Created both the Shinigami Training Academy and Seireitei.
>Over 2000 years old.
>Just fucking look at him compared to everyone else.
I think it's safe to say, excluding the Soul King, Yama is the oldest guy around.
So the old Shinigami never use zanpakutou then. After that somehow Spirit King ordered Monk to become royal guard and that afro whatever create zanpakutou and the monk started naming things?
Yet Yama is older than both of them?
This is defeated by the simple fact that we know that even before the Gotei 13 were funded Yamamoto fought with a Zanpaktou, the Zanpaktou were created by Oetsu and named by Ichibei. So they're either older, or around the same age as Yamamoto.
Yeah, Nimaiya implied that the Spirit King made him super powerful after he defeated the 4 sternritters.
There's also the whole training the royal guard had Ichigo and his team do.
No it isn't.
Royal Guard became Royal Guard after inventing something special, not after.
Meaning Oetsu became a RG sometime after creating the Zanpaktou and Ichibei became RG sometime after coming up with names for things.
For all we know, these two could have been part of the Original Gotei 13 brought together by Yama, it fits with Ichibei's demonic tendencies and the Gotei 13 being monsters in the past.
>Royal Guard became Royal Guard after inventing something special, not after.
I meant, the RG became RG upon creating something, they didn't create something, they didn't create shit after becoming RG.
Which still means they can predate Yama, since Yama used both a Zanpaktou and had Bankai.
He couldn't have a Zanpaktou or Bankai without Oetsu and Ichibei. Which at the very least means they're around the same age.
This isn't even up to debate, Oetsu invented the Zanpaktou, Yamamoto used a Zanpaktou, Ichibei named ALL the Zanpaktous, which means he named Ryu Jin Jakka. Which means he was already the "namer" or whatever.
So maybe they're the same age, maybe Oetsu just happened to create the Zanpaktou and Yamamoto started using one, the point is, that Yamamoto cannot predate them because if he did, he wouldn't have had a Zanpaktou or a Bankai or anything in the old times.
In her delusions, if she has any hope left in the first place
I've been up for almost 24 hours.
It doesn't mean they predate him at all, I would venture to say they are around the same age still guessing that Yama is a little older, but the RG have aged slower physically due to the super reietsu in the Royal Realm.
Here is what I assume:
Yama creates the Gotei sometime between 1000-2000 years ago, Oetsu and Ichibei are among the original Gotei, and at some point between 1000-2000 years ago Ichibei and Oetsu both invented the Zanpaktou, Oetsu forging them and Ichibei naming them, of course every member of the Gotei including Yama were given one.
Because of Ichibei and Oetsu's grand achievements they were promoted to RG and their bodies aged slower in the Royal Realm as a result.
Yama created jack shit and just carried on wrecking shit and aged faster within the normal realm.
It's not that Yamamoto was scared that Kenpatchi would overthrow him if he was trained, it's just that Yamamoto didn't want another monster causing unneeded havoc, that and it would be a massive pain to train Kenpatchi because he's a stubborn fuck.
>It's not that Yamamoto was scared that Kenpatchi would overthrow him if he was trained, it's just that Yamamoto didn't want another monster causing unneeded havoc, that and it would be a massive pain to train Kenpatchi because he's a stubborn fuck.
Stop with your conjectures. If Yamamoto was like that he wouldn't keep Mayuri around.
But Rukia is going to marry Ichigo anon, you can't compete with him
though she is worth fighting for, even if you can't win
Mayuri doesn't go around starting fights and smashing buildings and fucking shit up for no reason, despite being a fucker everything he does is for the good of the soul society.
Besides, the time when Mayuri went out of his way to exterminate 2000 souls without permission Yamamoto was notably pissed.
Mayuri and Kenpatchi are both very dangerous, but a trained Kenpatchi is way more dangerous than Mayuri.
Just like he had no way to fight a vacuum in space or meteor right? Did you forget this series is about who can lolreiatsu the other person? Has it been too long for you?
Go read Aizen chapters again then shut up.
With the power of love and pure badassery
I want to throatfuck Rukia. And Soi Fon too.
A Meteor is just a huge mass, it's not as hot as the sun.
He sliced his way out of Gremmy's dimension, he didn't literally cut through a real vaccum in space, just a simulation within a closed of dimension.
Shunsui didn't know anything about Gremmy, nobody did, he didn't just go
>Oh no I can't beat Gremmy, I'll give Unohana away to train Kenpatchi to do it.
It was a precaution, everyone knew a fully trained Kenpatchi would be a major war asset, thats why he gave up Unohana.
He was probably controlling his reietsu so It didn't start immediately destroying the ground beneath him, after a while he wouldn't be able to and all of SS would be reduced to rubble.
>Even though it is explicitly stated he is as hot as the sun, if it doesn't bend to real physics then it's clearly a lie and it's not that powerful.
I didn't know the power of the sun allowed us to go through dimensions. I also like how you just make shit up with more conjecture.
So convincing. Did you learn minimalism from Kubo?
>Nothing ever said that, the most he ever said is that no one has been born stronger than him in a thousand years.
I always thought it was interesting that Yama specified a thousand years in that claim when we knew he'd been around for at least 2,000.
I never said that, but if you'd like exposision I can always use the Reietsu VS Reietsu argument.
If Yama's Reietsu is higher than Gremmy's then all of Gremmy's tricks will be rendered useless, I'm pretty sure thats how Kenpatchi was able to claw his way out of the dimension as well.
Wasn't there a Kubo quote that said something like that Yama would have gotten promoted but there was no one else suitable to replace him as CC?
After he did found the academy, and my impression is that he founded the 13 divisions too.
Even if Yamamoto could kill Gremmy with ease, the fact still stand that Yamamoto is easily killed with Juhabach and that Monk clearly can push Juhabach around.
Ywach took specific precautions to avoid fighting full power yama, and nothing that monk has done is anywhere near the level of pure power that yama had. Aizen did the same thing, no one ever beat yama at full power
Ichibei > Yamamoto.
That's how it is.
No matter how you look at it Yamamoto has no way of defending himself from Ichibei's powers. Ichibei would just take away Yamamoto's powers and he would be fucked.
>Threadly reminder that's Monk leeching away of all black from Soul Society is unintentionally removing Aizen's bindings.
Just think of all those naked shinigamis running around.
The monk was able to keep up with Yhwach and he didn't even use Shikai before.
Yama immediately went Bankai against Yhwach, and quickly lost the fight when the true Yhwach stole the bankai.
The monk is stronger than Yama, that's for sure.
Lloyd was able to copy both image and memory but not power, thats how Kenpatchi killed him easily.
Rroyd was able to copy both image and power, but not memory, he was taking up the mantle and power of Yhwach yet Yamamoto's bankai easily destroyed him, without Yhwach's memory he wasn't able to steal Yama's bankai.
The only way Yhwach was able to dispose of Yama was by stealing his bankai, as he was the only one who understood it's power.
Without taking away Yama's power Yhwach wouldn't stand a chance.
Yamamoto > Ichibei > Yama w/o power > Kenpatchi
Due to slower aging, Ichibei is probably still within his prime, Yama is already a very old man way past his prime with only one arm.
Right now, Ichibei's physical strength and speed is beyond that of Yamamoto, I will not deny that.
Still, we have yet to see Yhwach pull out the 'Light sword' that sliced Yama in two, Monk isn't rushing in stupidly like Yama did after losing his Bankai either.
I agree, like I just said, it's because Yama is old, Single-armed and way out of touch with his prime, thats why I listed powerless Yama as lower than Ichibei.
you fucking idiot
this guy is not Yamamoto tier.
Why is he doing so good?
Because his ability is literally handicapping his opponents.
Cut the name in half, there goes half your power. Use your power to hide the entire royal realm because you wrote "hidden" on it? Yeah..
He's just hax
You don't say that regular aizen was stronger than yamamoto just because his zanpakuto was hax, now do you?
How would Kubo pull off an IchiRuki ending?
Now that he's married and has children chances of us getting an actual ending with a heroine have increased exponentially, but how would it end?
I'll be upset if Bleach doesn't go until at least chapter 701 to outdo Naruto.
Kubo has children now? Also did we ever end up getting a picture of his wife?
For an Ichiruki end I would imagine that we would get a "in the future" epilogue with Ichigo living in SS, where Ichigo is a captain, and Rukia possibly his vice-captain.
Rukia is easily captain class and Ichigo is nearing god status in his own right. He's so broken that you can't even have him show up to play with mid-bosses, he just oneshots them all unless he's really careful.
The only way Kubo could pull it off, having done such a shitty job giving Rukia and Ichigo screen time together this arc, is if he tied some serious plot destiny crap into it.
Like, Rukia was special because she is immune to the hou gyoku because she's actually the soul king's daughter, and Ichigo functions as a living hou gyoku, and now that he's gotten so powerful, he must live away from everyone else to avoid warping reality, and rukia's the only one that can live with him.
But there's pretty much no way that he can go the romance route.
Especially when the last arc is called "the departure"
It's implied that Ichigo will be able to live in SS normally. It's just the real world that would suffer from having him there. Also Rukia is strong enough now to justify being with him. If she was still some shoddy VC then that would've been a definite no, but her power is actually pretty damn broken. I'd go so far as to say that with enough training she'll surpass Hitsugaya and become the polar opposite of Yama.
The destiny stuff is already laid, they've already been called "the two who share destiny", I honestly think he's just scared to have them on screen together because Rukia is dere as fuck for Ichigo now, and their relationship is already really developed.
Rukia has almost reached her apex of power, and definitely has surpassed Hitsu, though not surpassed what Hitsu will eventually reach at his own apex.
But I don't think you get what I'm talking about. I'm not saying Ichigo's going to have some sort of aizen-esque "kill everything weak that gets close" issue
I mean Ichigo will literally be subconsciously altering his surroundings.
Ichigo being *forced* to live outside of the real world is only part of the equation, the other half is having a valid reason that Rukia would *need* to be there.
Kubo hasn't bothered building up their relationship, and in fact has gone to great lengths to show how integrated into Soul Society Rukia has become, and how she doesn't rely on Ichigo anymore, or need him at all.
For an IchiRuki ending to happen, Kubo needs to pull a kubo, is all I'm saying.
>their relationship is already really developed.
maybe their platonic relationship
but Kubo's done virtually no romance development with them. That's why it would take a hell of a lot to get a true IchiRuki end, and the best we can probably expect is the "they're a team again" open ended implication
Unless this arc changes something severely. But Rukia's not even GOING to the palace.
Read between the lines anon
things like this are some of the most compelling things, but even if they weren't there they have amazing chemistry
He could make a canon movie with just them. I don't know how much money the Naruto movie made but if it ends up being a cash cow you can bet other shounon authors will try to follow.
Their relationship is platonic because Ichigo is a minor and inexperienced. He's not uninterested in girls and most certainly is partial towards Rukia, the same applies to her. They haven't had a "talk" yet and that is the main reason why their relationship hasn't gone anywhere yet.
It is a much longer stretch to pair Naruto with Hinata, or Kazuki and Tokiko, than Rukia and Ichigo. Notice that the two first pairs have children together.
Rukia and Ichigo have an infinitely better relationship in every way compared to Naruto and Hinata, Ichigo and Rukia is the reason many people love the series in the first place. "The talk" is something people have been waiting years for.
3 Ichigos, 2 byakuyas, and 2 Orihimes
but to be fair, these were specifically in reference to As Nodt talking about the fears she had experienced.
Which makes no fucking sense
because one was giving Ichigo his powers back
one was Byakuya beating Renji
and two were different shots of the same moment where Rukia promises to help Orihime get stronger.
Kubo probably wrote down "put in a few scenes with Ichigo from different arcs, Orihime from the arrancar arc, and byakuya from soul society arc" and the assistants picked random scenes and put them in.
>Read between the lines anon
We're not talking about what Kubo COULD develop
we're talking about how he's not ESTABLISHED anything yet, and so he would have to do a lot to establish it.
Reading between the lines means nothing, as nothing is established. Subtle hints isn't establishing anything.
1 major difference. There is no bleach anime anymore. I doubt they'll make a movie. I wouldn't be surprised if Kubo does shelf ALL relationship stuff into a movie, if a movie is an option though
Reminder to those people who are saying that our third-person omniscient view allowing us to see Bach's thoughts means he's going to lose:
We saw Aizen's thoughts, and they were completely contrary to what was actually going on, unless he was just upset that he accidentally left Momo facing away from Ice Shota instead of toward him.
Busou Renkin did IchiRuki as IchiRuki was going on in Bleach.
>Is this going to be Naruto all over again?
Naruto had a platonic relationship with Hinata though.
We just knew Hinata wanted otherwise.
In Bleach, the only one of the teens that have shown a clear romantic interest that is still current is Orihime towards Ichigo.
It's not like Naruto, where tons of characters showed romantic interest towards each other, and the game was guessing who will win in the end.
For Bleach, it's "Is Ichigo even gonna pick?" before it's "who is Ichigo gonna pick"
>because one was giving Ichigo his powers back
There was a risk of the transfer killing Ichigo. There is always a risk with power transfers from shinigami, I figure SS gave it a go because it had been successful in the past, but Rukia must've had her doubts still.
Posting the Ichiruki ED's from that thread earlier
Yhwach appears to have the same passive healing factor that Ichigo has.
He impaled himself with his own arrows and had veins literally bursting in his face in the latest chapters, but he recovered in no time at all. It's similar to how Ichigo closes wounds and stops bleedings with his Blut, but it looks like he's healing them rather than just stopping the bleeding so I won't chalk this up to a standard Quincy ability.
they really shouldn't have chosen a pic where she's smiling then
this fanart always struck me as odd, as it was based on one of the few color spreads that have Ichigo and Rukia no where near each other, and they cut Renji out completely, despite him being right next to Ichigo in the spread.
Most likely Rukia herself.
She's now a top tier fighter, highly respected amongst the gotei, and more.
Honestly, we've got Renji and Rukia basically begging to take over.
Shuuhei will probably get a promotion too.
4th division needs a new captain, though I'm not sure who will fill that role.
>We're talking about how he's not ESTABLISHED anything yet, and so he would have to do a lot to establish it.
Like another anon mentioned, Rukia's been dere dere as fuck towards Ichigo. Here are the times they communicated since FB arc.
>When Ichigo is fighting Ginjou, she salvinates over how awesome he is
>When SS was getting attacked and Ichigo was trapped in HM, she's the one yelling out that Ichigo will definetely come save them
>When she's hurt after round 1 of the Quincy invasion, she's all smiles for him and thanks him, then worried when she notices something's wrong
>When he's arriving back to SS from RR, she notices him first and is again all smiley about it
Ichigo is classically dense and asexual as always, but it's not a stretch for Kubo to claim Rukia has feelings for him if he wants to. She's definitely been acting different since the timeskip.
But anon, in the past Rukia and Ichigo's relationship got a massive amount of development, it's not like them getting together would be a stretch in any way. They're the Black Sun and the White Moon, and their souls have been connected since the very beginning. I do wish he would let them be on screen together more recently, but I have faith in him, he loves those two together just as much as the fans
>Rukia's been dere dere as fuck towards Ichigo.
okay, you can stop this
Saying someone is "dere dere" is not a sourcable moment where feelings are established.
To demonstrate, let me show you how each of your points could easily be interpreted differently
>When Ichigo is fighting Ginjou, she's in awe at how far soul society has changed compared to 2 years ago, all thanks to Ichigo
>When SS is attacked, everyone is relying on Ichigo to come save them. Rukia, having actually BEEN rescued by him once, is the most confident he'll arrive.
>when she sees Ichigo moping about blaming himself for her getting hurt, she does what she always does with everyone and puts on a face to make others feel better, while still paying attention to their inner feelings
>When he's arriving back from RR, literally everyone stops to notice and Rukia, who was panicked trying to hurry to the aid of Zaraki, smiles in relief upon realizing that Ichigo is landing at Zaraki's spot
See, you can just as easily interpret it differently.
This is because Rukia never says anything (or thinks in text) that gives you an establishment of the emotions you are inferring from her.
Because of that, it's ambiguous at best and certainly needs to be established to the reader if Kubo wishes to develop it, but also it needs to be established to other characters in the series (i.e. Ichigo) if you hope to call the relationship "developed"
Kenpachi is definitely a leader, don't you see how his entire division looks to him as their unattainable goal? They try to behave like him, fight like him, do everything like him. And when he fights, he makes sure his subordinates do not get caught in the cross fire.
Now you could argue that Mayuri isn't leadership material, but clearly in his lab he is
>Because of that, it's ambiguous at best and certainly needs to be established to the reader if Kubo wishes to develop it, but also it needs to be established to other characters in the series (i.e. Ichigo) if you hope to call the relationship "developed"
Everything in Bleach is ambiguous. Everything.
It's one of the main things that allows Kubo to fuck with us so much.
>A Bleach thread with over 100 posts on a non chapter release day
>Everything in Bleach is ambiguous. Everything.
>It's one of the main things that allows Kubo to fuck with us so much.
that was my whole fucking point though, when I posted this
For an IchiRuki end, Kubo needs to pull a kubo
There's no non-kubo way for an IchiRuki end at this point because he's ONLY done (at best) vague and ambiguous moments with them.
Niether Rukia nor Ichigo has commented about their love, or romantic longing for each other directly.
We get moments that COULD be interpreted that way, and Kubo MIGHT be meaning that, but we still don't have any real moments.
At least in Naruto, we got some more solid shippery hinata moments towards the end, with the hand holding and stuff, after Naruto was made aware of her feelings (though apparently, he just didn't understand love)
Could Kubo pull something off? Course, he's kubo. Do we have any signs that he's going to? No.
He might end up with Grimmjow for all we know
>he just didn't understand love
The only reason I can somewhat forgive this is being an orphan that the entire village shunned right from the start. So of course his concept is fucked up, but him not getting it after spending all that time with Jiraiya and so on is a bit much.
Kubo is subtle in the way he does things, but I've already told you multiple times that Ichigo and Rukia have the framework and strong relationship to make a romantic end work. It wouldn't feel like an asspull because we already know that they have an incredible and unique bond. Naruto and Hinata were a shitty couple that had almost no interaction throughout the series, while Ichigo and Rukia have probably the most developed in Bleach. Comparing NaruHina to IchiRuki is insulting.
>Naruto and Hinata were a shitty couple
It is not that, It is just that Hinata is like princess peach. Every time naruto meets her, She always need to be saving. Except for that war arc.
But, Compare to other girls, Hinata is best.
Because he killed Ginjo, a fellow human, he goes to hell.
I think you're slightly confused
I meet people all the time that think that greatly enjoying being with someone is love.
They don't really understand that love (in the eros sense if you will) is about that person having a special place in your heart that matches your own desires.
You want to go out. But the person you love wants to stay in. To yourself, both have equal weight, and you must decide to give up your enjoyment for theirs or not.
If they love you as well, it's really a no-lose situation. You give up sometimes, they give up sometimes, it's give and take, it's what makes it work.
But Naruto never had an emotional bond like that, partially because he always put everyone on the same level as himself. It wasn't until after his talk with his mom that he started to really consider how his own actions can make an impact for those he cares about.
Ichigo is not so differently, basically putting all people into the same category "people who need protecting"
Until he realizes that he has to view other people's interests (at least one other person I mean) on par with his own (and judging by his actions, and constant harassment by his elders, he has not) then he's not going to understand what love is.
But Ichigo doesn't have the excuse of being a deeply hated orphan boy that Naruto had. Ichigo has an extremely devoted and loving family, so he at least understands the concept of filial love.
I won't deny that she is better than some of the other girls in Naruto(which isn't an accomplishment), but her and Naruto had so little interaction and development throughout the series I can't believe anyone can actually like that pairing, not that any Naruto pairings were good. Their relationship was tacked on at the end, where Ichigo and Rukia's is a major plot point, and could actually be important down the road
Obligatory prediction reminder:
>flash forward epilogue
>grown up Ichigo mentions being married but doesn't give a name
>last color page has Ichigo standing exactly equidistant between Rukia and Orihime with both of them looking towards him happily
Reminder that Orihime wishes to be the rain which joins heaven and earth.
With Ichigo at the top, she will be the one to remind him of his earthly duties, rather than staying away like the previous Spirit King.
That's actually cool as fuck of Okiayu to do.
The first generation were kids a hundred years ago, so they're likely about double the age, 200 or so. You'd have to bump up the ages of everyone accordingly.
Anyway, for vice-captains, Hisagi was a brat that looked five when Byakuya, Soi Fon and Gin looked about 12, so he's maybe 50-70 years younger. Renji, Hinamori and Kira are around Hisagi's age but were his juniors at the academy, so slightly younger. Rukia is also Renji's age and was stated to be about 150. Rangiku started with Gin and is the same age.
There's a lot of feelings that are very obvious and established just to fuck with the characters a certain way though. You have the Aizen-Hinamori-Hitsugaya thing, Kenpachi and Unohana clearly had a hard on for each other and Gin did everything for Rangiku while she was pining for him for years.
Kubo can be pretty obvious if he wants to. Ichigo and Rukia doesn't have anything quite as blatant yet, mostly because Ichigo has a lot of people that are important to him while all of the above has only got a few relationships with other characters.
>You will never pick up Rukia with one arm and throw her to a person you fought in enemy territory.
>You will never have Rukia sleep in your closet.
>Rukia won't win the ichibowl
>There's no good doujin of Rukia.
Why does no one like best girl? I think I'll make Rukia my 1st waifu.
Man, it seems all the high tier Shinigami, at least the Royal guard can use some of their powers without releasing their swords. That's pretty scary, imagine if Aizen could do tha-
Wait a minute.
You do realise that they got together TWO years after the end of the war ?
You do realise that Hinata loved Naruto ever since they were little ?
Let's say that the day Naruto protected her they were 8~10 years old.
The manga start when they are 12 and end when they are 17.
The movie happend two years after the end of the war.
So at best, she loved him for 9 years withouth wandering off a bit.
At worst, 11 years.
With the moment they cheered for each other during the chuunin exam, naruto "vengance" for her agaisnt Neji, etc....
And more importantly, the fact that she litteraly was ready to die for him, how the fuck is that a bad pairing ?
cant kubo just let rukia and ichigo kiss once? or would that be too much and require bleach to be rated R or whatever~
inb4 rukia dies ichigo ends up with inoue last shot of the anime is them having kids and the kids seeing ghosts
I got goosebumps when i read this, this arc is so good.
As much as I like this arc, the first part of the royal guard fight was so fucking shit
>HURR WE DIED
>HURR NOW YOU'RE DEAD
I know this kind of shit was always present but man this time it was really fucking bad.Thank god the Ichibie fight is pretty damn great.
The 4 super sternritters should've stayed dead, the D and Miracle should've been the only ones to get back up. That would've been fine, more than fine actually since you would've had
M against Oetsu(sword vs sword)
D against Kirinji(death dealer vs healer)
Bach against Ichibei(beard vs mustache)
And then you would still have Ishida and Toofsy for what'sherface and spiderhands.
No, he didn't.
Yhwach was capable of stealing Yama's bankai - a feat that seems impossible to any other Quincy.
This means he's also capable of handling Yama's bankai.
He sent Royd to keep Yamamoto from slaughtering other Sternritters left and right.
>Sacrifice Unohana to power up Zaraki
>Doodooodoodoodoodooooo!! Zaraki unlocks Shikai
>Takes out 1 sternritter before running out of steam
Kinda gives you the impression that Gotei 13's powerup lessons are costly and ineffectual compared to "Taking a bath, eating some grub, fight some disgruntled swords" in the imperial palace.
Who else are getting a powerup? What will it cost? We've seen Hisagi training with Kensei to achieve bankai but he jobbed and we're obviously not gonna see it soon. It should be time for Rangiku to get one too but she's a zombie. Yachiru is likely related to Kenpachi's power-up.
Not really seeing what other obvious power-ups the Gotei 13 should be getting at the moment.
>introduce ridiculously OP character
>make him job to the main villain
>for the second time now
B R A V O
K U B O
The difference is that there was no shame in jobbing to Aizen, he was a smart motherfucker and he had been the main villain for years, not to mention that we had several chapters where he said "i made this guy just for you".
Bach just sort of came in, took his bankai and one shot him. Yama didn't even try to fight back.
>Not really seeing what other obvious power-ups the Gotei 13 should be getting at the moment.
Well you got the 2 Byakuya siblings getting powerups.
So is Renji with his full unleashed Bankai.
Of course there's also Ichigo with his dual zanpakutou.
Nice to know that taking a stroll in the Imperial palace and having lunch there makes you Sternritter slayers in a day.
Ichigo can't have a gimmicky sword because he's the main central protagonist so he has to have something that's very basic and streamlined. As for making something cooler than shooting black energy balls, the reason Ichigo hasn't appeared back in the manga is because Kubo literally can't come up with anything interesting for him to do.
I never fucking noticed this.
How did he disrupt their sense with no reiatsu? Did he trick them into playing card games or word games like:
I'll answer your questions if you guess what my favourite book is, I'll give you 10 guesses.
and they spent ages guessing while he said hot or cold.
In Naruto, it's just slighty complex, but once one gets the gist of it, its understandable.
Lets just please to not go back to compare Rukia/Sakura and Orihime/Hinata because we already established their differences.
>Threadly reminder that's Monk leeching away of all black from Soul Society is unintentionally removing Aizen's bindings.
Because Side characters are never bound by the narrative. You can kill as many side characters as you want and in return for that ability you can also make the side characters as crazy awesome as you want because they're expendable. You can remove them if they don't work out without having to rre-write much of your story.
If I was to look at this from a writer's point of view.
Ichigo has very limited story progression power outside of "saving someone" or "helping soul society".
He has literally no social skills that really have any personality. He's a incredibly boring character.
I was more excited by Zaraki than I was by Ichigo in there first fight because Ichigo was bland, and he still is bland.
It only makes sense that new characters take up more time than Ichigo because he is boring. He doesn't have any real character quirks or bad character traits.
Anon, pls. Shirou is more plot armour than man. Ichigo at least has the excuse of being a born winner.
Though this isn't the place to discuss Fate/stay night so I'll keep on topic.
I'm not saying Main Characters can't be awesome. Just that Side Characters being less important give the writer more free reign to make them awesome because you're not losing out on much if they die and if you want them to make an emotional impact. They need to be memorable which is usually achieved by being way more cooler than the protagonist.
Guys i have to tell something. Its very hard to write, but lately Kubo is somehow my favorite Mangaka... not because his art, which is actually good (- backgrounds), but because his dense story somehow makes me want to read mor of it. And i, i truly felt in love with those Kubo-Moments. Am i gay now?
Yamamoto gave up. that's why he lost to bach. he watched soul society be invaded by degenerate humans who turned his own students against him for a time. he was forced to adapt in order to keep the peace and then didn't have the heart to train or fight anymore until his underling was killed but it was too late.
yfw bleach is a metaphor for Japan if they let in Germans.
>tfw Yamamoto was Bleach's Teresa
that still bother me. I mean, why monk is able to trade with bach and not yama if he is not more powerful ? If yama was equal with monk, the bankai steal wouldnt have happened, he wouldve fought with just his shikai like monk.
Finally, can someone explain to a retard what happened with yama vs bach ? I still dont understand, unless nothing happened and he just steal the bankai = the end ? Thanks in advance
Because fights in Bleach aren't a fucking algebra equation. Someone people are just better equipped to fight against other people. Maybe A can beat B, and B can beat C, but that doesn't necessarily mean A can beat C.
>Ywach finally meets soul king after beating monk and a hundred chapters of side characters battling, reveals he's been rapidly aging ever since his return (hence beard growth) and will soon die because <reasons)
>Two begin final climactic battle as Ichigo arrives and dashes into the fray
>He delivers a devestating blow to Ywach alongside Ishida, who was preparing to betray him all along
>Aizen ends his illusion
>Monk's power sucked Aizen's black bindings off and he's been roaming free ever since
>Ichigo just killed the Soul King
>Aizen absorbs Ywach, beats down Ishida, claims the title of 'New Soul King' and prepares to fight Ichigo for dominance over Soul Society
>The last boss battle ensues
Screencap this post, calling it now
Bach was so strong that Yamamoto could not fight back with just his Shikai, so he got cut in half.
The monk on the other hand has a crazy bullshit power so it seems no matter what Bach does the Monk can just imply his way out of it.
Using his Bankai tiered him out. you can see him breathing hard. Then it got stolen, then he got cut in half.
If Bach had fought Yama from the start he'd probably lasted a bit longer, but would likely have lost without his Bankai.
Ichigo is the character I care the least about in Bleach, as you say he's incredibly boring and his character progression is the most predictable thing in this clusterfuck twisted asspulls. We all know he's going to get power ups on power ups and be the only person to be allowed to take out the significant villain. It was a lot easier to sympathize with him when he lost his powers but now I can't see how he's redeemable without Kubo making him the final villain or something insane shit.
Just made this out of a page in chapter 2, after Rukia wipes the memories of everyone in Ichigo's family.
Use it, or don't.
Seriously I wish more mcs would follow more of the style of Edward Elric.
Strong and capable, but doesn't outshine everyone so hard that new characters with ridiculous power levels have to show up to actually seem like there's a challenge
FMA was really satisfying that way, Ed never got a power up since start and all Al got was the same skill his brother had, which was relevant and moved the plot forward. Battles were even and side characters useful, and even if Ed was the one who took out the big bad you never felt that he was the strongest character in the series. There was a bunch of military officers, villains and rogues who were older and more experienced and rightfully stronger than him, and there were many times where character relied on outwitting each other and manipulating emotional weaknesses to beat their opponent rather than power creep nukes.
Bleach has a lot of genuinely interesting characters, but almost all of them are handled poorly. Too many are simply used to job against enemies to prove the powerlevels, and in the end Ichigo is the one to take them out.
Both Bleach and Naruto has pretty visible points for when things went downhill. Most people put it at the end of the SS arc and Sasuke retrival, with the arcs after those being considerably less interesting.
Why is he still aging, then?
He hasn't died, so he's not exactly a "soul" in the way Renji and Rukia are. He will continue to age like a human and die at a human-appropriate age, unless he dies before that and passes on or asks the Soul King to "kill him" (make him become a full "soul") without actually "killing him" (which would involve him losing his power and memories, etc).
I really think the latter will happen. The Soul King has that power, of course, and he'd probably feel obliged to fulfill Ichigo's wish after he saves his ass. I'm predicting that this will also make Ichigo lose his quincy powers, and perhaps his White powers, effectively nerfing him to a plain old captain-class shinigami, like his dad.
Another interpretation might be that Ichigo's soul ages alongside his human body, and that he won't age as long as he doesn't use it, but that's quite a stretch and, to me, doesn't really make a lot of sense.
Sometime ago someone posted a pic which pretty much explained how Ichigo's powers came to be, like a visual representation, if someone knows what I'm talking about could you please post? Also, would anyone care to remind me just what the story was with Ichigo's inner hollow and Aizen?
trying to explain Bleach to somebody.
The distinction is academic at best. You could say Ichigo is human not so much for having a body, but because he still has a life and ties to the real world, which other shinigami have given up. As far as cramming characters into distinct cubbyholes go, the Bleach universe is not too picky about demanding that someone be either just a human or just a shinigami.
It's not as binary as a Christian-influenced view of the afterlife would suggest, where once you cross over you've gone irrevocably on to a new plane of existence. For the everyday normal folk that may be, but for anyone with just a bit of spiritual power it's more like they've only gotten a change of address.
Part of this is all due to the Soul King's meddling.
>fix the damn site moot
>Why is he still aging, then?
Same reason Isshin aged. Biogigai age.
How do you know he aged? This doesn't look like fifteen years to me. Only his hair changed.
Why hasn't Urahara aged?
Isshin turned bara-bait, simple as that. Though the 9 years ago redesign of Isshin does make him appear younger than he did early on in the manga during the memories in the rain flashbacks.
One Piece and Bleach tend to keep their shit in one thread while Naruto posters have been posting multiple threads about NaruHina endlessly since the spoilers for the last chapter. And it usually ends up as 90% shitposting. Toss in the fact that there's at least one mod that hates Naruto and you get the perfect deletion storm.
A separate shonen board would be pretty dead since all it really needs is 5-6 threads about the Shonen series actually posted about here.
I just wish the mods/janitors would get as anal about the 40+ Fate threads up at once when a new episode airs.
I can see what you're talking about now. Some subtle face shape differences, and a few wrinkles around his eyes.
That's pretty damn convenient, if it is the case. All Ichigo has to do to be near-immortal is stay out of his natural body.
How the fuck does aging work, anyway? Hiyori is shown to be at least as old as Byakuya, Gin, Soi Fon and being older than Nanao and Hisagi, yet she looks the exactly same in the present meaning she looks considerably younger than all of them now.
Next person who sees this wants to suck my dick and finger my ass tonight.
Ichigo typically goes long stretches without making an appearance only to pop in at the climax of some event.
Kubo loved the "just in the nick of time" cliche. His absence only builds anticipation for his return. It was successful in Soul Society so Kubo seems to think that it's successful everywhere.
>I just wish the mods/janitors would get as anal about the 40+ Fate threads up at once when a new episode airs.
There was two decent threads for Naruto yesterday that got to the bump limit with not that much shitposting. It just becomes impossible once a mod or two decide they dislike seeing the threads. It's really kind of mixed signals for things when it's okay to post it in /a/, but it's constant;y deleted even if there isn't any shitposting in it yet. Can't complain about shipping due to this whole last part of the series is shipping, and you basically said it. Fate threads are an ugly amalgamation of these things.
Honestly, it'd just be nice for the threads not to be pruned within 2 minutes. The double standards for these things is pretty crazy in /a/.
False. Urahara and all the vizard are wearing gigai that mask their reiatsu. It's the reason why they managed to remain hidden for 100 years. It is unknown how they are capable of using their reiatsu despite the gigai however. I can only guess that the crippling gigai, Isshin's gigai and the masking gigai are separate models.
Aging in Soul Society is probably a reflection on how you view yourself. Hiyori on some level still believes she's a child. Shunsui actually went from a child to an adult so he must have imagined himself aging to some degree.
Considering everything else in Bleach is based off your personality and your soul it would only make sense.
Hold on just one fucking minute. I thought Getsuga was some entirely separate entity, or a part of Ichigo's shinigami powers. Isn't Isshin, too, capable of the Final Getsuga Tenshou?
Why would Yama want to be old as dirt?
I'm also pretty sure both Hinamori and Hitsugaya has stated it sucks to be a kid, so it's not really about what you want to be. Their appearance being based on their maturity rather than how they see themselves doesn't make sense either since a big deal of SS are retarded manchildren to some degree.
yeah but TBtP was full of that bullshit where Tessai, Urahara, Yoruichi, and all the Vizard didn't age, but all the little kid cameo characters like Gin, Nanao, Hisagi, etc... did and there was never any pretense of there even being an actual explanation.
So if you're delusional enough then you can be whatever? I wish there was some character that was presented as the image of old wisdom but really is a retarded manchild.
Anything having to do with "getsu" is definitely from Isshin. Even Isshin's sword is named "Engetsu".
As for the getsuga itself, I think it is an independent entity from which Ichigo and Isshin draw power. Mysterious as fuck.
Bleach's plot is like an Elder Scroll - if you attempt to define or understand it, something changes and fucks everything you thought you knew.
It's not what you consciously think of yourself as, it's a combination of things like responsibility, tragedy, experiences, etc...
Hitsugaya comes off as very insecure about his age and tries to compensate by acting like an adult but this in itself is an immature act. He hasn't fully accepted himself for what he is, he hasn't personally grown so his appearance reflects that.
Now compare that with Yama who has been ruling over Soul Society for centuries. He's felt the weight of that responsibility and the tough choices that come along with it. It's not about someone thinking "I am old" it's about them feeling the weariness that comes with someone who has experienced and had to change because of it.
And your outward impression on others isn't necessarily a reflection of how you view yourself. It's why comedians often commit suicide out of depression. They like to make light of a situation but they themselves are miserable.
You guys are overthinking this. Yama looks old because he is old. He founded the gotei 2000 years ago. 2000 years when he FOUNDED it. And he looked middle aged at that time as well. So he's probably like 4000 years old or more.
Hitsugaya is just a midget. And so is Hiyori.
The way I see aging in Bleach, it's just like superhero aging. You age normally until you reach your prime, then you age very slowly for the rest of your life so that you can be in your prime for as long as possible.
While it'd be interesting if things really are this way, I'd prefer if Kubo could just have some consistent aging so it'd be easier to place the characters.
The problem is that a good chunk of them seems to age consistently and in sync with each other (Byakuya, Gin, Rangiku, Nanao, Soi Fon) while others just seems to stop aging. Shinji is Aizen's senior, but all of the above and including Aizen look older than him in the present. Aizen in SS looks no older than when he kid Gin saw him in the forest, which would be about 150 year ago or something. No one even knows how old Yachiru is.
It doesn't give off an expression of these characters being timeless souls as Kubo not knowing how old all the characters are supposed to be compared to each other.
