So when's batoto going to update the 4koma?
It's already been stated that the anime is going to have 40 characters.
Sister ships getting their own episode, i.e. Akatsukis and Kongous. Also you do realize shipgirls don't sortie on their own right? You don't sortie the same fleet everywhere, you gotta change things a bit.
I will post this every day until you love it
Nothing beats a fleet carrier.
Pray tell whatever you are talking about. Never happened. Akagi is immortal.
>So each will have 3 minutes of screentime?
Conveniently many groups of girls have only one voice actress between them, so unlike other anime this show doesn't need to worry about salary budget blowouts. VAs get paid by the days worked, not the number of roles they have in the show.
Why is everyone so obsessed with Kongou? She's pretty shit (for 1940s).
Yes he did
I wish she'd show up more in Hisahiko's manga
Make way for Kriegsmarine master race.
Kuso teitoku pls go
Battleships in the IJN with the best service record are Haruna and Kongou, and besides the Kongou and Haruna were massively upgraded and retrofitted multiple times to rival other contemporary battleships at the time in the 40s.
Nay, Kongou class was the real deal in 1910s, but cheap-ass nips kept them around for some reason.
They're fricking battlecruisers, not battleships. That upgrade didn't change that.
It's kinda like renaming Pershing into heavy tank.
Still shit armor belt, though.
The only reason they did have a good service record was because IJN was afraid to use their _actual_ battleships.
They were fast battleships, only the Kongou and Haruna actually were upgraded into those by the time WWII broke out in the Far East.
When Hiei tried to face an actual battleship, she got demolished but she still did some significant damage. Their equivalent to light battleships if that was an actual warship class, Haruna and Kongou could actually out-run their own carriers meaning they could keep pace and protect them.
Unlike Hiei or Kirishima.
Not really. Kongou and Haruna took out like an entire airfield and destroyed around 40-60 Marine/Army fighters at Henderson.
Anyway, battleships are a big waste of moneys. It ain't gonna do shit against a carrier group.
Sure, they got big guns and look good but there's a reason why by the end of the pacific war USN mostly used them for covering marine landings.
That only became apparent in the Pacific War, there was little actual carrier/naval air power used in naval actions in the Atlantic on the European front.
And the battleships are still necessary to protect and screen carriers, just like destroyers are needed to transport troops and anti-submarine roles or cruisers with anti-air missions.
And like the other anon mentioned, the single most successful shelling and naval attack on land or shore was by the Kongou and Haruna shelling the fuck out of Henderson airfield. Which allowed several IJN destroyers to safely disembark thousands of IJA troops, and the whole success behind the Tokyo Express.
> took out like an entire airfield
> significant damage
No one is doubting their ability to blow shit up.
It is exactly the survivability of fast battleships that made them pretty useless as capital ships by the time of the war.
Other roles - as you said they performed pretty well.
>tfw the most majestic CL has shit stats
Neither the Hiei or the Kirishima were fast battleships or even got upgraded the same way or as extensively as the Kongou and Haruna.
The capability of the former two vs the latter is pretty stark. And that's not how survivability is defined. The Kongou and Yamato still did tremendous damage scattering and taking out USN cruisers and destroyers, the battleship just lost the premiere role as the top class of warship with the advent of naval air power from carriers.
On an unrelated note,
why did commies even need this UPOS?
I don't know that feel. I know the feel of the most majestic CL having the best stats, though. It's quite nice.
So why do most sources refer to them as "fast battleships" after the upgrades?
You do realize Hiei and Kirishima never got the same upgrades the Kongou and Haruna did in the real world, right?
And Haruna was first and then Kongou, despite in the game she got her Kai Ni upgrade.
Hmm, you are right. Just checked the max stats.
I need to level her, then. She truly is the most majestic CL.
Artistic license? Its easier to give the same benefits those two did to the other two sisters so its more balanced for players.
They aren't the only ships the game devs have taken certain liberties with.
I love Inazuma so fucking much.
So fucking much.
And all of the Akatsuki class as well!
My imouto looks like Akatsuki
Okay, they didn't receive the _same_ upgrades (touche), but they all were reclassified as fast battleships. As far as the internet tells me.
Care to provide some sort of source that proves otherwise? Like, I am legitimately interested.
First destroyer you got? Isn't there some sort of syndrome where animals get attached to the first living thing they see after birth?
Look, this anon agrees with me.
That's not particularly impressive considering they were battlecruisers originally and unlike true battleships, with their upgraded boilers could be classified as FBBs.
But the two that actually were remodeled and properly updated were the Haruna and Kongou.
Take a moment to appreciate all the hard work the CVs have done for your fleet.
>But the two that actually were remodeled and properly updated were the Haruna and Kongou.
That wasn't even the point from the beginning, the point was that despite not actually getting the same remodeling as Kongou and Haruna, Hiei and Kirishima were still reclassified as FBBs after being remodeled.
We're talking about 30-yo ships here. Isn't that obvious that they're not going to be on par with the real battleships?
Yet still, Kirishima, 1931:
> Her superstructure was rebuilt, and she received extensive upgrades to armour, propulsion, and waterline bulges.
Not just the boilers.
Also, can we stop this pointless "argument"? I am not even sure what we are trying to prove anymore.
She's 8 years old
Reminder that US battleships were literally the best in the world from mid WW2 onwards.
Pagodafags need not apply.
Did Bismarck have torpedoes IRL? I don't think so.
Triptiz did, though.
What the hell are you on about? Fusou sucked.
I'll give them that. Still a waste, though. See >>118085316
>Fuso would even get within range before being straddled and stack-fucked by Iowa.
"What are you gonna do, use your radar guided guns to sink me from beyond my effective range?" -quote from sunken IJN ship
I don't want to argue, I just want to know what your source is for this impression you have that the Kongous were not all upgraded. Really, I'm not asking to be a smart-ass, I would like to know.
Hiei never faced a battleship, either. A battleship is practically the only thing that didn't get a shot at Hiei during her final hours. Maybe you're thinking of Kirishima, which is a pretty basic error to make for someone who sounds like an authority.
>Shamelessly feeding on poor Kirishima/Hiei-fags.
We ask you to disclose you sources or go away.
Just keep posting cute ship girls, it isn't that bad.
No, you get to invade us so we get to invade you.
Now look at these apple pie loving all-American girls docking symmetrically.
It's easy being brave when you got a battery of 40.6 cm guns.
Gotta give it to near-suicidal torpedo/dive bomber pilots, torpedo boats, submariners, destroyer crews.
At least post them as ship-girls.
C'mon anon, we contribute to this quality thread with KanColle-related image dumps.
I like Kirishima, maybe because she gives the megane yakuza kind of vibe.
I wholeheartedly agree. Same guy, not the same guy, whoever you are - just stop badmouthing the much-beloved Kirishima-nee-san. We get it. They weren't that good IRL.
Back to posting kanmusu pls?
As much as it pains me to post USN ships, I gotta give it to 'muricans.
