Contentious Romanization Edition
She's just misunderstood, the Homura of our generation.
I honestly expected a bigger shitstorm from this episode but maybe it'll happen with the next, that or people have just gotten used to these things (not that I disagree with her but I figured more people would lose their shit, guess the people watching this knew what they were in for).
TAISHA KILLED GIN AND TURNED SONOKO INTO A LOG.
Please end the suffering based Tougou.
Yuuki Yuuna is the Best.
If Karin is desperately shouting the tenants there are only 3 possibilities I can fathom:
>Yuuna is not present
>Yuuna is incapacitated/dead
>Yuuna's gone into all hope is lost mode
I can't say which I'd prefer it to be
It's Karin. Clean your ears.
ONE A SCALE OF 1-10
HOW SUFFERING IS YUKI YUNA
I NEED A REASON TO PICK THIS UP
You have to understand that this show has a not so large following. There are no big names that makes people flock to the show besides being from the writer of AgK, which people already hate.
I'd say an 8 if you go in with the knowledge that it will become suffering. 15 if you started when episode one aired and were tricked with
>Slice of Life, School
No idea yet.
It can still end well.
Yuuna already solo the baddest vertex alone with a single mankai when Sonoko 21mankais cant do shit.
She might Shinjuu-sama reincarnate herself.
>implying that's not exactly what Sonoko wanted and Tougou has been played like a damn fiddle
Sonoko needed Tougou to start this shit so it gets bad enough that the Taisha will give her back her terminal. Then she will join up with Washii~ and destroy Shinju.
>First time seeing togo go down into sniping position
>her ass is pointed straight at the camera
This shouldn't be arousing, but holy jesus.
Where has the cute girl who was lured in by the idea of defending her nation gone to?
Too many. She was pretty confident about her ability to instantly cook them.
More reason that she won't team up with Tougou. Between the two of them and infinite Vertex the rest of the club would have no chance of winning at all.
>Tougou has been played like a damn fiddle
Isn't it in both of their interests? Even if Sonoko explicitly said that she wanted Tougou to destroy the world to end the suffering, wouldn't she still do it?
Yuuna will make a contract with Shinju-sama so that she can keep being a Hero even after her body is gone.
>yeah Tougou I'll definitely join Team Vertex and help make all of our sacrifices totally meaningless
Don't be stupid.
''To each of us falls a task, and all Shinju-sama requires of us Heroes is that we stand the line, and we die fighting.
It is what we do best.
We die standing.''
There's absolutely no way this show that gets marketed as a SoL but has these sad OP and ED, as well as a battle OST reminiscent of Madoka and is written by Takahiro, will ever turn out to be full suffering. Absolutely no way. Nope, none at all.
Well fuck having hope. At this point I just want to see where this train will take me.
Calculating as fuck
Here's the other one from that page on its own.
another depressing apocalyptic emotionally brutal show
>any hint of problem
BILLIONS OF MILLIONS
If they don't talk about her next episode they've fucked up bad. She's basically the answer to both Karin and Tougou.
>Karin don't fucking sacrifice yourself, think about the people who care about you
>Tougou don't fucking murder everyone you'll render all of the sacrifices everyone made meaningless

>That in the past, what tormented

>And that the reason was because it was
already doomedin the first place
Are you suggesting that this show does not contain high doses of suffering?
Is being an unwitting human sacrifice, a little girl doomed to an endless life of constant battle against monstrous extra-dimensional horrors sent by the gods themselves to cleanse the Earth of human existence, losing function in your body slowly as you fight, until your body is nothing but a useless lump of meat in which your mind is trapped forever simply a "hint of a problem the cast has to overcome"?
>At one point her feet even get nailed to the ground by spikes.
She'll come down from the skies, say those things, everyone will cry and then a random vertex murders her again.
I do hope Karin does something she needs screentime, though I feel like the effect from her first visit and that insanely cute introduction episode with her is starting to fade since she was away for so long while the other dealt with their problems.
I love these.
Suck it up! You want to be a hero, don't you?
According to documents on the

That phrase is kind of funny. I like it.

I feel them close by.

Gin confirmed for not quite dead?
Honestly? The whole "slowly losing your body" thing didn't seem so bad to me. But the whole "the entire rest of the universe is literally biting at your doorstep by the quintillions and they all trying to kill you" pushed the despair meter over the top for me. Show went up a point for me with this episode.
It would be some real bullshit if she weren't dead. Sumi and Sonoko found her body themselves, and held her cold dead hands before her funeral. Her death has a lot of significance in the story, they won't undo it.
Marathoning this to catch up seems like a bad idea.
>holy shit what the fuck is that
I was thinking something more along the lines of they were provoked or tormented or challenged in the first place.
Kinda of like the story about the tower of babel.
When I became a hero, I knew.
That in the past, what tormented humanity was not virus but god themselves
And that the reason was because it was humanity fucked up in the first place.
It's kind of like the story about the tower of babel, I thought.
Jesus fucking christ I want to adopt Gin so badly.
Did Sonoko mankai'd 20 times in that one fight where Sumi was knocked out and drove the vertex away for 2 full years
Did Sonoko had to mankai'd away constant wave of vertex attack the entire time in the past 2 years, alone?
Damn if she had to fight alone for the past 2 years t'd be sad as hell so that's probably what she did, because suffering
>Episode 11: Passion
Holy fucking shit, if Tougou and Yuuna don't kiss or say 大好き at least once I'm flying to Japan and hitting somebody.
Do it before S3 hits anon.
Shit's fun, hotblooded and pretty gay.
Also S2 is the most retarded and amazing thing I've watched.
I've been around cripples my entire life, so I may be more used to it than some others. It's unfortunate, but not really terrifying to me. The scene when Togo stepped out the force field terrified me.
>Ahh, there's nothing as fascinating as the truth to us
>Ahh, but there might be nothing as cruel to us as the truth is either
I like how the OP and ED keeps become more and more relevant.
Not telling them the truth was what lead to the situation they're in now. It would be better to find people who can deal with it rather than giving emotional little girls the power to destroy you when they inevitably find out.
I wonder why they took away Sonoko's phone. Was it because they were afraid she will go renegade?
And yet, she was able to summon Tougou and Yuuna without it. Holy shit.
>According to documents on the ?? period ?? years ago,
I have a feeling 300 years might be a big fat lie. Explains how they could resist the Vertex for "so long" without proper technology too.
Karin's fairy is Yoshiteru. Upon Ashikaga Yoshiteru's death, he wrote "Take my reputation and soar above the clouds".
And Karin takes Gin's "reputation", so maybe Yoshiteru is Gin.
Yuuna said she'd still fight, the other would probably still do it too, but I understand they didn't want to take any risks with.
Which remembers me of the first episode and how Togo reacted, I wonder if in the end she feels betrayed and wants revenge rather than just want to destroy the world for the sake of it.
It might be like- based on how independent you want to be. I figure just being as disabled as the group is now isn't life-ending, but seeing Sonako bedridden and their future is quite scary.
Because she knows the truth and has nothing to so, so if she was given a chance, she might go wreck the barrier.
Some evidence for this is when she got a chance, she planned it so they would go wreck the barrier.
Getting exp fills the gauge, for example, when Yuuna hit Fuu and her gauge increased.
Either it was much less then 300 years, or it has been more and Shinju has been destroyed over and over again, like in Matrix.
In that sense what Tougou is doing is a natural course of events. All of this has happened before, all of this will happen again.
What were you doing when Togo died?
they are inside two barriers.
This, they probably just took those 298 years to take the Earth until on that area was left, still, they should have thought of a plan faster, that or Shinju couldn't keep the barrier around such a large area, which barely matters because Vertex get past anyway.
>You're my hero
I never asked for this.
>touching people defines your sexuality
Welp, two boys are touching Karin at once. Confirmed slut.
Tougou did nothing wrong. Shinju-sama's system is unsustainable anyway, the Vertex are infinite and the heroes can only keep up fighting for so long before they become crippled. Humanity only has a small amount of land and people left. It would be better to either tear the barrier down and end it all or tear the barrier down and gamble it all on a last-ditch effort to kill every last Vertex while they still have the chance. Either way, they have to do something.
Does Tougou have the conviction to watch her waifu mankai trying to stop her without being swayed?
Since Sonoko gave Sumi her ribbon right before the final battle, I was half expecting Togo to give it back to her this episode.
No, more like a constant cycle of death and rebirth.
Like what Reapers did in Mass Effect, or the cycle from Battlestar Galactica.
The "universe"(understood as Shinju) is getting killed by vertex every few hundred years or so, and then it gets reborn a new. Each "timeline" is slightly different, but the beginning and end are always the same.
The survivors from each "universe" create the Taisha in the new one, and keep the cycle going.
The greatest hero who
stoodagainst all enemies with no fear.
Her meter is full. She's definitely going to fight. Mankai is certain.

>The last thing Sumi said to Sonoko before the battle was "I'll put in on when the battle is over. Make sure you compliment me if it looks good Sonocchi"
>mfw watching ep8 and Sonoko politely compliments Tougou on how the ribbon looks good on her
It's for these little things that I love this show.
Have something not vague then, King of sarcasm.
Note that Yuna didn't mean it in the way Karin thought she mean it.
Will Yuuna be able to say the same thing to Tougou?
What the flying fuck
I regret not sticking with the livewatch thread today
I regret coming home so late and watching it just now
I wish I had been here with you faggots when Togo stepped through the barrier
Link me the previous threads please, thanks
same guy here. I don't know why but i feel like i missed something really big.
I just rushed the 10 episodes yesterday/today.
I don't remember this gin anywhere.
actually the whole togo-san missing memories felt so left field too. was this explained before too?
is there a LN/manga/game to this show that has had some stuff cut out? cus that's the only thing i can think of.
This just keeps getting better and better.
And Karin didn't think it meant you think she thought it meant. Karin get's embossed at everything. Fuck off, shipper scum.
Plus even then it wouldn't be proof of her sexuality. It's normal to get embossed when someone says "they like you". You see it happen in harem romcoms that have pretty boys/traps all the time. It doesn't prove the MC's are gay.
I love Karin, but shipper scum are toxic.
I could see that if it gets a second cour. Their universe is destroyed and recreated, but thanks to whatever happens in the finale or Gin's spirit or something, the heroes get reborn remembering the last cycle.
Yes, there is a prequel manga and LN called Washio Sumi was Yuusha de Aru. some kind anon has translated it all recently
Actually, he kept translating it chapter-by chapter every 1-2 episodes so you can imagine all the speculah and shitstorms that have been going on because of that(Is Tougou Sumi? Why is she on a wheelchair now? Where is Sonoko? etc.)
Anyway, you missed A LOT.
All the stars in the sky are our enemies.
Funny because that's close to what appears in Madoka, and central focus of most of Urobuchi's works, the idea that people are always trying to fight utilitarianism, always searching for a better way when the current one should be the best one. You shouldn't fight against it, you should embrace it and maybe things will actually get better but you can't help look for a better way, which only brings about your doom.
It'd be ideal if the heroes just fought for the good of humanity but they can't help think that's wrong, just like how Madoka can't accept sacrificing girls, although in Yuyuyu there's a lot less options.
What shipper shit are you talking about? Karin is gay, but she doesn't fit with anyone else in the show, she's only a gay hero like everyone else that reacts gay to what she thinks are gay actions, but she doesn't have any pair, she's alone and will always be.
Judging on ED, they won't remember.
Or, maybe it will be like Madoka's ending when only one character will retain her memories
(for example, Tougou. Imagine her meeting Yuuna for the "first time" ;_:)
>I regret not sticking with the livewatch thread today
Because fighting Vertex used to be messy business and she was always out in front. Crybaby heroes these days don't know how good they have it.
I want to do lewd things to Tougou.
She's gay because she's a tsundere that blushed to a "I like you" from other girl, it's not rocket science.
That anon isn't completely wrong and there's still 2 episodes when it can turn into that, but it's unlikely.
It keeps getting worst, before this episode it was pretty bad but at least it was like "they'll live" now they're just fucked, there's no future, this was actually a lot sadder than the previous one, just in a different way.
Always with the hard choices, Washii~
Have you never watched anything with any kind of tension before? From a narrative perspective, this episode makes it almost inevitable that something is going to change, because the only other option is playing the current conflict completely straight all the way to the finale.
I did say she was straight, I was being sarcastic saying that sexuality is defined by the people you touch. Please be smart.
>She's gay because she's a tsundere that blushed
Can you read? Like, at all?
>You see it happen in harem romcoms that have pretty boys/traps all the time. It doesn't prove the (male) MC's are gay.
I bet you don't even watch anything other yuri bait shows, so this concept is completely lost on you.
Halfway through chapter 3 of the LN. At a rate of one chapter every two months it's going to be a while.
Also while it looks pretty nice sometimes it has a lot of really blatant copy-pasting in it that looks terrible.
And then what? I'm all for homosexual eye contact and blushing between Yuna and Togo after the punch, but what are they going to do about the millions of space sperms gunning straight for the tree?
They can pull a reset ending from nowhere, specially because Tougou just caused the apocalypse, I wouldn't trust Takahiro. If reset ending, Sonoko won't be a cripple. Which means Sonoko ends with Tougou and Yuuna with the last girl. I don't like it, but that can happen.
Why couldn't the Taisha get heroine with ranged attack power to just poke her head outside the barrier and thin down the number of vertex/virus with long-range bombardment? Tougou COULD use her hero power outside the barrier just now
Why did Shinju-sama drop the barrier and letting in vertex despite knowing that the barrier is in fact holding and vertices are constantly regenerating?
Why must Shinju-sama take the girls' sense and body function as sacrifice after every mankai instead of going "you saved my ass there, we're cool, keep working hard girls!" on them?
Does Shinju-sama just want to molest whatever the girls have sacrificed to him/her/it?
Is Shinju-sama really the villain all along?
I actually didn't find the episode that strong for the reasons you said, I even felt it was a bit too fast and when I saw the outside it was very much like "I bet it's literally nothing... or that, sure, why not", but it sank in afterwards.
I think the episode did it's job though, even I feel like giving up after that, the whole "there's no hope left" came across well.
What the hell are you doing wasting your life watching harems and why are you misusing the term bait? The term bait is only used if they end with boyfriends, any other case is development.
>all characterization and development is worthless because everything has been reset and all interpersonal relationships have been nulled
I guess, but that would still leave no reason for Yuuna and Karin to get together. Unless they ass pull dozens of "reasons" from nowhere.
>Why couldn't the Taisha get heroine with ranged attack power to just poke her head outside the barrier and thin down the number of vertex/virus with long-range bombardment?
Oh man, you wish. They seem to be infinite.
They could be the only ones who remember though, I guess it being the whole group would have nowhere near the same effect but if you don't want to lose your characters just pick your poison. (It's not like they dissapear, all their development and backgrounds is still there, nothing really changes so I'm fine with only one of them remembering if it gets a reset)
blood for the blood god!
space sperms for the space sperm throne!
More of the vertex arrived and she was the only one left to fight I suppose.
You know what bugs me is the fact that their parents all presumably know but can't do anything about it. That's assuming they even care (which if not or they care that they'll survive in the end, holy shit). Like goddamn, let's assume that the girls survive in the end. How would you live with your parents knowing that?
It all reminds me of something out of a Lovecraft story.
We get what's going on. Pro-humanity gods vs anti-humanity gods, keeping the remnants of mankind in their own safe little bubble.
But we don't know why these things happen, why one faction decides humanity needs to be cleansed, why one faction decides to protect humanity but demands almost arbitrary sacrifice, the reasoning is just so utterly alien.
So that's a "yes". You are an ignorant newfag who only watches yuri bait shows. You should know how wrong you are now.
>blushing is proof of romantic attraction
Yeah, about that. No.
>The term bait is only used if they end with boyfriends
Wrong, that's called bait-and-switch.
I honestly wouldnt be surprised if this were true, since she's suppose to be like a guard dog anyway.
What if she did kill a few Yusha recruits while the Taisha were testing the new terminals?
Their parents view them fighting for Shinju-sama as a great honor, and all of the benefits they're receiving from Taisha probably help. They also don't have a choice, they can't stop Shinju-sama from abducting their children to fight monsters, so they might as well roll with it.
>Now I can save everyone
Even though they went to great pains to lay out her thinking- taking an entire episode- I still don't see how she would turn against her God and country and Yuuna and put all those little kids they played with at risk, just to end Sonoko and her own's suffering. And to make the decision so quickly.
Going to see Sonoko again, yes that makes sense. Going to see what Sonoko was talking about for herself, yes I see that too. But then to instantly decide to destroy Shinju itself? No. To think about it? Yes. To act on it now? No.
The in character response would have been to have gone and found the other girls, brought them to the barrier and shown them what was on the other side. Then hashed out what the response was to be, which may have resulted in another fight amongst themselves, but in the end would have resulted in them all acting together in one direction or another.
Togo doing this on her own is a stretch. I wish they had not done this.
>all these reasons that have literally nothing to do with romantic attraction
What will it take for you shippers to understand that two characters knowing each other is not proof they will eventually get together.
>Wouldn't take much to make it more than just like
Oh, that's nice of you. You're calling them all cheap and that their feelings for each other aren't that strong in the first place.
Truest love story ever! Until they change their mind and love someone else a few minutes later, then it's Truest love story ever! with someone else.
>Oh well they offloaded their suffering dosage, now it will be tense build up to the generic finale, what a nice show.
>What the flying fuck
What can you do?
You either die and perish with the rest of the humanity or you end up sacrificing a girl to save everyone. They also become godlike object of worship
Easy choice to make.
At this point, I doubt Sonoko really gives a flying fuck about anyone besides her Wasshi.
Her dream is probably to watch Shinju-sama burn to the ground while Togo's holding her hand.
That's why I said that I assume they care. It'd still be super awkward for you if that happened to you even if you were able to finally destroy all the vertex.
Is there a reason why the Taisha said there are 12 vertex? Did they assume the girls would burn themselves out fully by that number?
I also feel like the ending of this is going to get rushed. Anyone else feel that way?
To keep fighting while
offeringmy body to the Shinju-sama
Is apparently such a wonderful deed...
At least that's what my parents said as they cried.
Wasshi... no, it's
Togo-san now, isn't it?
I'm glad you didn't get it as bad as I did.
Hero Diary 298.10.11
No, yuri that is never confirmed by explicit romantic expression is called yuri bait. Please, go away, newfag. You've already admitted you're ignorant and have only watched a small number of shows.
You should always believe in your dark haired lesbian.
She has a plan, just you wait.
What I meant was why did they pick 12 instead of, say, 20? Did they just expect one to attack a month? Or did they make up (maybe it was in an earlier episode) something about them matching with astrological signs or something?
The fairies didn't stop her from letting the vertex in. They also didn't stop her from attacking Shinju, even though they would know right away what she's doing. So there's either a deeper plan or something going on with the fairies, because you'd think they'd stop her giving this would keep her from being a Hero.
I agree, it was just too fast, I don't even really care about her talking to anyone else, just think about it some more, see what's at risk, I find Togo to be very impulsive, from trying to kill herself to this, she does what's on her mind and that's why she's dangerous alone, heck, if someone told her the truth and told her to destroy the world I doubt she'd have made the decision this fast, since it wasn't her idea she'd probably think about it more.
This also dates all the way back to the LN. Tougou only looks smart and collected because the rest of the hero club is full of dumb genkis. She's actually totally prone to making bad decisions when she's emotional.
>Itsuki bustin' out her warez version of Pro Tools
What type of music does she make? Wubz?
I forgot her character bio said that she had an interest in music production software.
Says the guy who only watches a small number of shows and is ignorant about common tropes.
Says the guy who didn't know what a tsundere was.
Says the guy who gets madder and madder the more he's proven wrong.
By your logic yuri such as AoiHana or SonoHana are on the same level all subtext shows. Yuri is not just yuri, yuri bait is when there is no confirmation.
We need more characters like this.
I just caught up
What in the literal fuck am I watching?
What if the yuushas don't manage to die even after Tougou destroys the world? They're just stuck in literal hell forever.
You have 0 proof of your assumption.
There's no case in existence in which a tsundere blush without it being romantic.
I want you to kill yourself because I just realized who you are, I'm not mad, I'm just sad you're still alive.
And yes, I think they're exact same level. Now stop fucking posting, and stop ban evading, you got banned on monday and I doubt your ban is gone yet.
They made Sonoko captain because she is the smart and calm one.
Togo is literally useless and wilt under pressure.
Just watch Sonoko and Yuuna saving the day. You heard it here first.
>I haven't watched YahariOre
>I haven't watched Nyaruko
>I haven't watched Koichoco
This list could go on for hours. All have cases that explicitly disprove you.
>And yes, I think they're exact same level
It's a good thing what you think doesn't matter at all. Because there is an objective difference between yuri with confirmation and "yuri" without it.
>everyone who makes me look stupid is ban evading
Grow up and learn to accept you're wrong.
Well pack it in I guess
Guess you better get off the ride while you can, because this the last chance.
>ignoring your waifu's phone call to continue chatting with your old girlfriend
Daily reminder that Sonoko does not view Wasshi in a romantic way.
I doubt the thing about body parts is true. I think it's a coincidence.
As to whether Sonoko will be last boss...shit I don't know. Depends on how the events will play out now. I think it will be more of a Sonoko+Tougou vs Everyone thing.
Sonoko might have a zoo and there are billions of millions of Vertex on their side, but Yuna is said to have greatest potential of all and if she's backed up by Shinju and the rest of crew it might actually be pretty balanced.
Also, as much as I'm certain that Karin will fight on Yuna's side, what is Fuu going to do?
Wow, and here I thought there was only one girl this season who knew how to save people. Tougou's got a friend.
Well, that wasn't me, and you have no proof or reason to think it was, other than both people proved you wrong about everything you think.
But it's good to see you're toxic where ever you go.
>you have to examples of blushing not be romantic!
>here are a handful of examples
How do live like this?
Why do people keep saying this? I doubt Tougou will turn against anyone "this is the only way to save you!" would make the whole thing kinda retarded, not gonna lie.
She's completely crazy, but in a good way. This seems to be the season for insane characters that wish to destroy everyone and everything.
9 was good, my heart was beating really fast when Karin and Fu started fighting and Yuuna got in between, was pretty intense.
10 did it's job but didn't pull of the atmosphere that well.
>all of my blind assumptions are true
>I pretend everyone else only thinks in assumptions as well
Here's a tip. What I said about tsundere wasn't an assumption. And I gave you examples that proved you wrong.
Also, you've already admitted to being new. There's no going back.
9 was confirmation of everything we guessed with tons of emotion. 10 was shit hitting the fan way harder than expected with a more stunted emotions/deer-in-the-headlights type thing. There were really only 3 minutes of shit going down this episode, whereas over half of last episode started from Fuu alone in her house until the end.
As long as the main thing is them fighting amongst themselves, Yuuna will mankai right away though.
I imagine Tougou plan isn't really to destroy the world but to destroy Shinju, which is kinda the same but might have some other effects.
How did Egg-kun save her from overdose?
Jesus fucking Christ stop replying to me already with your assumptions. Protip: you have never proved anyone wrong in your previous discussions, you won't now, and you never will, so shut the hell up already.
