In the beginning of episode 10, we are shown future Shirou's era where apparently there is mass genocide and humanity has regressed back to the Middle or Dark Ages, were we shown also how Archer died with the scenes of the noose and the spears being shoved in front of a king. I guess Rin could have figured out also that it was Shirou in the dream.
How the fuck does that happen in the span of like 20 years? That's bullshit. Civilization does not regress that fast. You can't just go back to the middle ages when most people alive still were alive and remember how things were.
Hey guys there is this item called the Holy Grail, it can grant any wish but it's infested by pure evil. On another note it's no way no one used this item to destroy the world.
Secondaries please stop.
I always thought that Archer design is wrong. If he wore plate carrier vest, BDUs, combat boots, and other modern gear it would make more sense. It would implies that his adversaries use modern weapons from the future or something. No idea where the hell the blades come from. No idea who the hell will still use melee weapons in the future.
I guess the author just want to make a mysterious cool guy cliche without bothering to fill in the blanks.
To be honest kissanime is sort of nice site to steam from. It doesn't have shitty ads and quality is 1080p. I think that sort of nullifies most of the arguments against streaming, to be honest.
Pic related is from when Extra's Archer was alive. Note that there are guns and signs of modern civilization.
And also maybe Shinji in the background.
You know, I'd appreciated this character design more than mediaval faggotry.
Also in general it would be nice to see "modern legendary heroes", like people from war and how they'd fight instead of all fantasy/ancient history cast
I think pretty much all of them. While Fate's something I probably would watch again wasting my HDD space on hoarding shitty seasonals isn't in my best interests. I'm never going to watch/talk about half the shit I'm watching right now ever again once the season is over.
What makes me chuckle though is tons of people who complain about streaming are retards, rips these days just come of online streams anyways. No one actually has hookups in japan recording the episode on a DVR for the 'true quality'. That's way to much fucking work.
Back in 2010ish though there was a chart going around comparing streaming/downloading and calling streamers faggots. Does anyone have it? I want to compare it to now.
I've seen the chart too, but it's clearly biased and cannot be taken seriously.
Downloading has certain merits, but as we are discussing 1080p streaming quality most of the merits are lost. Only reasonable arguments for downloading then are in case of a slow internet connection or if you want to watch the show without internet connection.
Considering the quality we can access now by streaming, I nowadays find the downloading faggotry sort of comedic form of elitism. Also people watch shit from example netflix all the time, but then streaming from unofficial site is cancer? I never got this.
Unless they don't know the full story there's no reason to.
From like, a pure outsider's viewpoint, Archer is the "cool badass stoic character", while Shirou is the typical know nothing protagonist, but of course there's a little more to it.
Is this the famous ________ the ________ is ________ about?
That's just Shirou being an idiot. He gets his shit together in the other routes
Uh, they take pains to show that he's actually so mentally traumatized from literally everyone he ever knew dying horribly in an inferno that he'd sooner die than watch someone suffer again
Fate, UBW and most of HF are an analysis of his mental problems and how he overcomes them (or doesn't).
That's what we here on 4chan sometimes call..."bait"...
>Uh, they take pains to show that he's actually so mentally traumatized from literally everyone he ever knew dying horribly in an inferno that he'd sooner die than watch someone suffer again
My god if I had a nickel for everytime somebody brings this up when people criticize Shirou's stupidity.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think those were Shirou's memories before dying, but his memories as Heroic Spirit.
Guardians are summoned counteless times, so they can't remember or access every single "cleaning" memory, so maybe those were just random memories.
I know that EXTRA's Archer got a nuclear tan. In terms of F/SN, I have no idea.
Anonymous, you can be a cruel sumbitch cause someone killed your dog and thus you lost faith in the world. But in the end you're still just cruel. As Shirou is still whiny little bitch, regardless of the reasons and mental issues leading up to such.
But he technically already traveled to the past in Fate. So going further in the past is possible, but with the power of Gaia as counter guardian.
>Archer's entire plot boils down to him throwing a tantrum.
You're assuming these people know what the fuck they're talking about.
It's the same morons who think Kiritsugu was SO COOOOOL even though his whole character was basically an extended explanation of why the Mind of Steal choice is extremely fucking wrong and his whole life was a string of bad choices and extremist pragmatism.
They see Archer's "too cool for school" denouement and just stop paying attention, even if his whole quest amounts to a doomed plot that he has so little faith on, he drops it as soon as he gets close to achieving it just to play an ideological game of chicken with his past self to see who has the sturdier backbone, and then loses that too.
Well, it's sort of true. It's in one of the dialogue trees in Fate/Extra. If you talk to him about his last act of heroism, he tells you he stopped a nuclear reactor from becoming critical. The tan is from thaumaturgy.
>One's an experienced, badass man and the other is a whiny faggot boy.
Funny, the culmination of Archer's character arc is him whining like a giant baby at Shirou, and Shirou telling him to shove it because he doesn't care even after absorbing all his experiences about the exact things he was whining about.
The entire thing is Archer being a giant whiny bitch and refusing to admit that his younger self is not impressed by his whimpers.
