I don't have an anime backlog anymore so I will post my VN backlog instead.
Different reasons for different people but my school blocks torrenting so whenever I go home I download a bunch of shows to keep me busy. XDCC doesn't usually have a lot of older shows.
The 1996 OVAs.
I wish Utena was 26 episodes, I feel like it was really dragged out with how each duelist fought Utena 2/3 times, and the reason why they fought her was the same for everyone.
First with the letters, then with Souji Mikage, and lastly with Akio
The filler was alright, but could've done with less
>and the reason why they fought her was the same for everyone.
They might have had the same instigators, but each character has unique motivations to duel.
Also, the duels serve to characterize and develop the cast, they are hardly filler.
I don't have them downloaded because I have small HDD so I just keep torrents...
Dunno. Description sounds like it can turn out to be either pretty funny or extremely generic and unremarkable.
After I am done with LWR maybe I will, anon.
I was thinking about reading Jin next, but i'll let you decide.
Medaka box Abnormal
Same instigators, that's what I meant to say.
It was a little boring because you knew that everyone was gonna fight her again and they were gonna play the same, or very similar, sequence leading up to the duel. And you knew Utena would be forced into a corner, then she'd get the powerup and win.
I liked some of the filler, don't get me wrong, but some of it, mainly the ones with Tsuwabuki, were bland and didn't really add anything.
The ending of the show was pretty good, I liked that.
It's been out for years and I just never really checked it out, yet everywhere I go I see someone with it in their backlog.
I just want to know if it's worth the time downloading.
I didn't really get that much character development out of them.
How many fights does Utena have to go through to grow as a character? I think they could've done a better job with just half the duels and not focusing as much on other characters.
>I didn't really get that much character development out of them.
>How many fights does Utena have to go through to grow as a character?
You really are daft, huh?
I have, but I don't think it was as thoughtful or as well-written as people claim it to be
It was enjoyable, nonetheless, but I think they dragged things out for 39 episodes in what they could have done in 26
I'm sorry that you didn't understand the show, or catch the purpose of the duels, but just because you didn't see it doesn't mean it isn't there. You should at least consider giving it a rewatch with a different mindset.
>All of this good shit on your backlog
Kaiji and Durarara! are both solid choices.(Especially since Durarara! is getting continuations through the year.) If you don't feel like watching those for whatever reason then at least watch Spice and Wolf or Jormungand.
If I were to rate them on how good they are, then:
3.Spice and Wolf
This is all relative and all 4 are all great fun and pretty damn good anime.
Since I don't keep a record of what I watch by the way of episode, time and date I just jump from one series to another. This does not even take into account the amount of series that I have yet to gather and convert.
>other people at least started some shows and stopped halfway and thus have a backlog
>don't even want to start new shows anymore
Should I just change hobbies to something else? I envy you guys still wanting to watch anime.
>What about the movie? I was planning on watching that soon.
Even in all its wackiness, I find the movie a lot more straightforward than the TV series.
I suggest you rewatch the TV series before watching the movie, to catch the subtleties and hints that you missed in your first watch. As for characters, Anthy in particular is interesting to observe on a rewatch.
>Or why everyone had to fight her 3 different times?
The answers to your questions lie within the show.
Not really, I kind of just stumble upon anime and if I get a certain feeling from it after watching an episode then I marathon the whole thing. It's kind of like an anime sixth sense where I feel drawn to a certain anime and I just start watching it, if I'm not feeling it then I don't watch it at all. Don't force yourself to watch stuff if you don't want to, the anime will come to you.
literaly just started a list last night.
Spice and wolf
>[In Progress] Revolutionary Girl Utena.
>Still hasn't watched Utena.
Are you hetero or something?
>It's impossible that muh Utena has any flaws whatsoever
Are you able to enjoy shows that are bad, simply because of how hilariously bad they are (yet they take themselves SO seriously)?
If not, then drop Mahouka.
Read the VN first. You'll thank me later.
>hasn't watched Haruhi
What the fuck are you doing here? It's great.
Nichijou and Code Geass are both shows that everyone has watched, so you should probably get those out of the way soon.
My backlog has about 50 shows long, so I skimmed it down to harem/romance only
The World God Only Knows
High School DxD
Monogatari: second season
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo
Watch some Sayounara Zetsubou-Sensei now and then, it's not really meant for binge watching.
Midori no Hibi and Dokuro-chan are both a must watch if you're 15 years old.
Go for K-On!
Votom is pretty fucking great, but Utena is one of my favorites of all time. Go with either of those and you won't be disappointed.
Unless you can't stand Shoujo, then Utena might be hard for you.
This is all shit I've started and didn't finish for one reason or another. Tell me what I should just drop cause I have tons of shit I haven't even started yet.
Take Deadman Wonderland out, it's really not worth it. And Fate/Stay Night if that's the DEEN version.
I'm going through LoGH right not, it's just as good as people say it is. But if you want something shorter, go for Darker than Black.
Disregard the three that are in progress.
Shinsekai Yori is my pick, best show in that list imo.
Is this bait
Tatami Galaxy or Jinrui
Mushishi, but watch it at night when it's nice and cozy
Tengen because it's basically a required watch at some point
Bakemonogatari, also make sure you listen to the albums before you go into Mekaku
SZS, no comment on the last season though
Lain, then Utena, both top favorites of mine.
I loved Kill MeBaby and Seki-kun. Give those a shot!
As for me:
Pani poni dash
I can't understand what my husband is saying
Psycho Pass 2
Saki Zenkoku hen
Yama no Susume 2
Rose of Versailles
Or I could just rewatch Texhnolyze.
