Ok, shitty translator here:
Wow I can't seriously believe the show catched already on fire, what amazes me are the retards that think there's anything deep behind the plot. I just wrote this shit for shits and giggles. Anyway here's your previews. I hope you guys will enjoy your yuri show and don't hurt your heads too much in finding meanings behind this shit.
Ginko and Ruru want to get to Kureha so they come close her house. Ginko tries approaching he, but gets stopped by gun-carrying Mitsuko. Yurikawa Konomi gets jealous of how Mitsuko cares about Kureha. When her wicked heart (Konomi's likely) flares up, Kureha gets summononed by another mysterous phonecall. Facing the bearks Kureha loses consciousness. Mitsuko gets close to her unnoticed. What is her goal when she's so obsessed with Kureha?
Bears are making japen to american?
I don't think Kureha's room having green and pink means anything other than she is yuri. The other contrasting colours though, maybe.
we've already discussed the pink triangles and green accents
Are you implying ruru is not super interesting?
Kureha needs some development to let us care her more though.
Sumika got eaten and Kureha got "eaten".
But I can't shale the feeling that there's not that much of a difference. It kinda ruins the symbolism if something stands for two different things.
Sumika is gone. Nowhere to be seen. Invisible? And Ginko won't forgive those who destroy love. That had me thinking Sumika may have been somewhat less than sincere about the relationship, and Kureha is still around because her love was true.
The connection between getting eaten and lesbian sex being less than subtle, could it be that Sumika, who was just fooling around in Class S, and once the bears showed her the real deal she quickly buggered off to the safety of normality (in this case heterosexuality first and foremost), she became just another face in the crowd, invisible, gone.
Kureha on the other hand is serious about it all, so she wasn't scared off, she's still around and visible.
>bland as fuck protagonist
Isn't that a common trope in general?
I was thinking something like that. They probably did the same lily eating thing to Sumika, but she rejected them because her love was not true (she backed down from love?) so they physically attacked her.
This is all guesswork though.
Forgot to translate the title. I would maybe go with:
>Even if my taste changes, I won't allow it
If we break it down, it's このみ meant like 好み, which means "prefference, taste, choice" - basically what you like. It's read "konomi", which is also the name of one of the girls.
Then the verb is 尽きる - "tsukiru", which is "run out, get used up, get exhaused" etc. So I interepreted "preferences running out" as one's taste changing.
And lastly 許さない - "yurusanai", which means like "I won't allow it, I won't forgive you, I won't approve of it" etc.
So in the end it's kinda hazy.
>It kinda ruins the symbolism if something stands for two different things.
I don't think so. They are kinda like vampires. They can kill you or seduce you and turn into one of them.
Pink and Green means Samba.
Why Japanese is so dame unstable, there is no way to translate their different meanings.
Somehow i think that title could mean "Even the like run out i still won't forgive you" for bears actually eat all kureha's suki for megane, even so she still want to revenge or some shit.
このみ has also another relevant reading: この身. This turns the title in "Even if this body perishes, I won't allow it/forgive it".
I'd dare say this would be the "normal" way to read it.
I don't think that really fits. When a vampire bites a victim it can be symbolic of sex, or it could symbolise something else, or there could be nothign intended beyond a predator having a meal. Whether this kills the prey, or turns it, or leaves it enthralled doesn't need to change the symbolism of the act itself.
So with the bears, regardless of whether the victim merely wakes up in the nurse's office afterwards or is gone with just some bloodstains to show for it, I feel that the whole "getting eaten" thing probably only means one, single thing, instead of Sumika getting eaten, and Kureha getting "eaten".
Symbols loose potency when they refer to many different things, if your vampires are there to tell a story about sexual predation then you don't want some bites to be date rape in disguise while some are just plain old bites. And if you want to tell a story through symbolism, then strong symbols will probably make for greater impact.
Therefore I suspect Ikuhara doesn't have some girls eaten and others "eaten", but rather everyone who gets eaten gets the same treatment, the difference in outcome is down to how they react to it. Those who are actually down with the dykes remain, while those who were just playing around disappear, become normal.
Sounds almost like Ginko; not true enough to your love that you stay a dyke after a good licking? Unforgivable!
But it's probably something else. Ginko seems like an unlikely perspective for the title to be written from, a bit early to get an ep focused on her.
She not up and running about. The child broiler wasn't terribly gentle about turning people invisible either. Though I'm not quite sure invisibility is the same thing here, so while I feel relative confident in what is symbolised (those who aren't true to their love go back to the safety of standard hetrosexuality) I'm not so certain about what it is that happens to people within the narrative. Having Sumika gone entirely already feels a bit drastic, and getting a friendly relationship going between Kureha and the bears could be rather tricky if they actually did rip her to bloody shreds. Thus I'd keep the door open for something a bit less severe.

Well, it IS a cash in, different from Yuri Kuma.
Wait till CG and Kancolle sale numbers come in and you will see how much Ikuhara fucked up by not pushing this anime back for one season.
From Ikuni's twitter:
>I received a mail from my family that they're in the middle of watching Yuri Kuma Arashi and I'm shaking.
>They sent a picture of them making the V sign, with the TV in the background showing the title. Shaking.
Ainda gosta de subir e descer um morro cheio de trio eletrico e gente num calor infernal
That OP bretty dope.
Mitsuko really the best girl
Can't wait until Kureha will become broken mess who will rely on Mitsuko
Ginko can go fuck herself
>Mitsuko gets close to her unnoticed. What is her goal when she's so obsessed with Kureha?
Wow, and title for the third episode is the "invisible storm"
If Kureha had given herself up to the bears, her love would have been approved. It wasn't approved, so Kureha failed. Sumika being eaten is a punishment for Kureha giving up on love.
Does anyone else think that Sumika being eaten by the bears is also a consequence of the invisible storm? The invisible storm takes away everything Kureha holds dear, and then will erode at her until there is nothing left.
That's true, but the fact that her love wasn't approved makes me think that she failed the test. Or maybe the "love" being referred to is the love between the bears and her, since that was approved. In that case there was never any intention of giving back Sumika.
I think the "love" being referred to in "I won't forgive those who destroy love" is between Kureha and the bears. I think that's the true love of the series. In that case Sumika didn't necessarily do anything wrong, she just came in between the bears and their delicious mail
When the siblings are together in penguindrum I don't really see it as a sign of tension or any bad omens at all.
When they are together you can see all the specters of the rainbow in the room, it may be chaotic, but it still looks like a message of happiness, as if everything was just right in that moment. Even the cushions they are on kind of represent the differences in their personality.
The room in YuriKuma, differently, do send some signs of disturbance. The contrast between the pink, the green, and the orange (that gets even more emphasized for some reason, maybe the choice of colors) just doesn't feel right.
To tell the truth, I didn't notice this while watching. Over-analyzing stuff with /a/ sure is fun.
>The room in YuriKuma, differently, do send some signs of disturbance.
I think it's because they wanted to show how lonely and desperate Kureha is
She was very clingly towards Sumika too
Yeah, I think we will get some nice back-story on her.
If Ginko did eat her mother it would generate some good stuff. I don't think Ginko is her mother since that would require some kind of reincarnation and I don't think it fits in this show.
Why does the class prez grasp Sumika's hand here? It clearly disturbs Kureha.
Is she being really sincere and is oblivious to the indecency of such an act? Surely it's a calculated move. She repeatedly talks about becoming part of Sumika and Kureha's friendship circle. Is she trying to break apart their more intimate relationship? Is that for their own good, or does she have other motives?
Anyway it's clear that the invisible storm was affecting Sumika first, and Sumika ran away on her own to prevent it from affecting Kureha.
the Queen ate Kureha mom but specially left the daughter for her own daughter to eat later, and now the queen fucks her husband sister, the husband is away or dead killed by Queen or the sister.
If that is true and not just Morishima add-on but real deal from ikuhara storyscript I will be quite happy.
That scene animated in some flashback montage told both from how Kureha remembers it in human way and how Ginko imagines it from bear perspective should be a classy fuckout.
I think that's the reason Sumika got eaten by the bears.
She was NTR'ing Kureha with class prez and the bears even said "I will not forgive those who destroy love" or something like that.
That's plausible considering the bears threw the brick after that happened.
But then class prez held Kureha's hand too. Is that also a betrayal between Kureha-bear love? Class prez fucks everything up.
>Why does the class prez grasp Sumika's hand here?
She knew, what it was Sumika who really did it, with her own hans
>Anyway it's clear that the invisible storm was affecting Sumika first
It's not, we never saw it, maybe they had others targets, with Sumika become close to someone, and bully this person after that
And when Kureha become new victim, Mitsuko decided to intervene
About, Sumika running away to "protect Kureha", it's a good theory, but we saw how lonely Kureha was outside of school, and Sumika didn't even call.
Judging by description of the second episode, bears and class rep don't have any problems with home visits, so it's just Sumika being a bitch
>Ep.2 Even if the taste is gone I won't let you go / "I won't forgive you even if this body should be lost/burn out".(episode name written fully in hiragana and has beaver-chan name in it)
>Ep.3 Invisible storm
>Ep.4 I can't accept a kiss / I won't accept your love
>Ep.5 I want to monopolize you / I want a monopoly on you
>Ep.6 Daughter of Moon and Daughter of Forest
The reason I say so is because Mitsuko says
"As I thought, you've been swept up in it too, Tsubaki." Then she apologizes for not doing anything about it sooner and asks Sumika to forgive her. Those actions only make sense if Sumika were being affected, and then Kureha with the lilies.
Maybe Sumika is betraying Kureha, but it doesn't explain why she runs away to the rooftop right after the teacher recommends that they stay together, or why she came earlier than the others to fix the lilies. Unless she has some deeper agenda that we don't know about yet.
>or why she came earlier than the others to fix the lilies
She wanted to ruin them even more
>why she runs away to the rooftop right after the teacher recommends that they stay together
Because she needed time, to ask her friends to "deal with garden"
Maybe she pretended to be a victim, and class rep knew it. But still apologized to become closer to the Kureha
Whoa, has no-one picked up on this? I was wondering about what exactly was going on in that last scene and I think that Sumika really did become invisible. She should be visible in the second picture.
We should be seeing the bears on Sumika, but what we get are shots of Sumika without the bears, and then a shot of the bears without Sumika.
Although the class rep says "The bears are eating a person!", so maybe she can still see Sumika?
The placement of all the objects match up, so I don't want to think it was just an error.
The second scene is shown really shortly after the first, and I don't know what happened to her clothes. This is possible though.
Yeah... There seems to be dirt on the ground in the second pic and none in the first. On the other hand the pens are in the exact same position, so I don't think they were supposed to be moved.
Every character with yuri in name is in actual yuri relation with another yuri girl(tomboy and blonde teacher also are a pair), only Kureha and Sumika relation was class S fake from the start which needed to be destroyed for true love.
The base of the wall shows that the ground is flat, so nothing should be hidden from view.
I'm thinking maybe they did eat her up, in which case there's no way Sumika's coming back. But if Mitsuko saw what we have seen, then she shouldn't be able to know that "Bears are eating a person!".
Anyone for some colour analysis? We get this change at the end of the ep.
Orange = honey, sex
Reds = Judgmens, hospital scene, camellia = Kureha, Ginko, Sumika being eaten
Pink = Our first view of the wall -> divide between humans and bears
Blue = Kureha, and her shooting gallery > violence against bears
Green = Lulu, nature (and thus bears), trees. Green/pink = the school and the nice places where Kureha/Sumika are together, but also Kureha's room where she feels heavily isolated.
>only Kureha and Sumika relation was class S fake from the start which needed to be destroyed for true love.
I don't like "class S" theory, Sumika was killed because she was a bitch with fake love, not because some "not real yuri" bullshit
Think about it, "cool" judge bear represent this shoujo ai shit.
Hope class rep panties will be better, than bear ones
>Ikuhara has allegedly alienated himself from the anime industry so badly only the boldest or most desperate of production companies still want to work with him
Is this true? Ikuni...
What studio do you want to make Ikuni's works? I think Brains Base did an incredible job with Penguindrum.
Ginko looks really happy in the op
It's looks like only Sumika and beaver chan don't love her
I wonder, how teacher treat Kureha, knowing her story with Kureha's mother
> The first lily I ate filled me up with happiness
> I want to eat that girl, but maybe she's not for me
> I want to eat this girl, but maybe she's not for me
> Let the judgment fall down upon all our heads
Could the judgment be the invisible storm? Or just the judgmens? In that case maybe the second and third lines refer to whether the yuri is "approved" by the judgmens or not. Or maybe the fact that Kureha is a delicious mail and the other girls aren't.
I don't think it really matters which studio Ikuhara works with, the show is going to look like an Ikuhara show, he'll bring in his buddies from the Utena and Penguindrum days to be episode directors anyway.
You know, that's what I think YKA is missing.
Just add some kind of secret underground levels under the school and bam, creepy elevators.
You can make a double callback to the Shining and the Black rose arc of Utena with that.
Ginko Yurishiro - transfer student of Arashigaoka Academy, who is rumored to be a woman-eating bear.
Lulu Yurigasaki - another student who transferred in alongside Ginko.
Mitsuko Yurizono - the class president of Kureha and Sumika's class.
Konomi Yurikawa - Kureha's classmate.
Yurika Hakonaka - a teacher at Arashigaoka Academy.
So these all are female bears disguised as humans who love to eat healthy human girls?
Looks like sensei and class rep are up to something.
I hope that halfway through we get a character who starts talking about how bears aren't actually supposed to just randomly eat people, and how most wild animal attacks are caused by animals feeling threatened or going after human supplies, not humans themselves.
And then everyone ignores said character whenever he/she is on screen.
She pouring it, to make Kureha sticky, and lick it from her latter
Well, according to the preview, she will tell them fuck off from Kureha in the next episode, with a gun
For show purposes it seems they are kill, though in the show it probably means they strayed from the Yuri path
I wonder if this show is going to present Lesbians as just a phase you grow out of or as something legitimate
>she will tell them fuck off from Kureha in the next episode, with a gun
Nah, that's Class Rep.
I'd pay good money to see yandere class rep fuck Kureha in front of Ginko. Tomboy is OK too, though it's not as fun since she looks like a tarashi.
Okay guys, I've come up with the most simple solution to what this show is about. I don't have all of the details yet, so bear with me...
The class president and her best friend in an all girl school want to get it on but the bears from another dimension want to keep heterosexuality alive so they're eating all girls to eat the soul of lesbianism but two bear girls also want to get it on so there is confrontation within the society of bears.
...in a nutshell, girls want to fuck, yuri is wrong.
No Yuri is good, Yuri is love, Yuri is pure
It is due to their Purity they do no disappear
Eating is akin to fucking. Most bears will eat anything and forcefully so. I.E. Rape. This ruins the Yuri.
Yuri bears however will eat any human that ruins the purity, meaning they will only eat straight people
In the end the anime will probably just ponder if it's okay to stand out or not and if such a thing as Lesbianism is anything more than a phase
So then why did they eat Class President's lesbian lover? Even if she didn't prove her love to Sumiko, she was still a lesbian so she would've been safe.
>She was still a lesbian
The court did say entrust your body to the bears and your love would be approved. So could it be that she dirtied the love by cheating or maybe she just couldn't bring herself to let the bears eat her honey so they ate everything else
Then tell us the truth
Yuri isn't right or wrong, it's just different.
It makes you stand out too much and that makes you a target for the bears.
I don't think it has anything to do with bears wanting to keep heterosexuality alive or purity vs rape (even if the bear's passion is more of the aggressive kind)
What is she plotting?
I don't think she's going to reveal to anyone that Ginko and Lulu are bears (except maybe to the teacher?) and use that knowledge to trick some other girl into getting eaten by them.
Not necessarily in the next episode, but soon.
Class Prez is the villain. She wants to fuck Kureha and will manipulate and blackmail other girls to do this.
>Yurikawa Konomi gets jealous of how Mitsuko cares about Kureha
And in the PV Mitsuko is licking Konomi's neck. Konomi is probably in love with her and she will use her to get into Kureha's pants.
I get that you can pretty much speculate anything right now.
But somehow it doesn't seem to fit.
Bears eat humans, they don't fuck around, the show clearly demonstrated that.
The key to infiltration is not being suspicious
Ginko and Lulu infiltrated the school and already at a student on the first day, which the Student Prez discovered
Meanwhile, no one suspects Student Prez, even though she was playing that NTR game with Sumika
Student Prez has some sort of agenda, the question is what
>I mean seriously the second half was shit
How could it have been shit if it was the part with Sanetoshi in it?
The twist is going to be they will revolutionize the world thus changing the fate of all lesbians while disappearing
then at the end we will get
>Yuri? is that some kind of anime?
because in the new world everyone is gay and only the straights stand out
His flashbacks are what gave me a taste for NTR
It was excellent but at some point it felt a bit excessive, especially when either you know what will be in the flashback right before it happens, or it reveals a bunch of crucial pieces of information that change the whole game for the fourth time in a row.
I'm more of Kozue guy myself
This. The length of Ringo's arc is unforgivable.
One of my favorite episodes is in the first half, though.
I like them because of that, you know that they must has some important information in them.
When you hear that little flashback sound, you know shit is getting real.
>Family loves each other
>coming to love and accept another
>Finality of life
>LOL we're not family, Himari come fuck your brother
>Oh yeah the whole stalking thing... I'm good now
>Oh yeah our parents were terrorist, we weren't wanted, and saved each others life by a series of randumb events
>Oh by the way I'll do anything to save Himari even kill my brother
>Oh and the whole thing here is that bad shit will happen due to us not taking punishment for our parents crimes.
>Oh yeah NOTHING IN THE FIRST 13 EPISODES MATTERED ASIDE FROM CHARACTER INTRODUCTION
It felt like such bullshit. Went from being light hearted coming of age type to grim, brooding, and inconsequential and that fucking ending where they just suddenly made mechanics up regarding the drum and the diary.
>Ringo suddenly bursts into flames
>"It's okay Shu~"
>"No it's not okay... MAGICAL MAGIC TRANSFER OF SPELL CONSEQUENCES I DIDN'T FUCKING USE"
Also whatever happened with the diary that Himari was given?
Is Nobuyuki Takeuchi confirmed for YuriKuma?
If he doesn't direct an episode I'm rioting.
He is sexy, shabadadu
>Oh yeah our parents were terrorist, we weren't wanted, and saved each others life by a series of randumb events
There are people who didn't fucking see that coming? (95), and all that?
The reason the first season is worse is because it doesn't do anything to flesh out the truly interesting themes of terrorism and child abandonment that are introduced in the second half, and because it meanders so much in the beginning, it makes parts of the second half rushed.
The ending is also an incredible swell to a beautiful thematic climax that brings all of the themes and references together.
I feel like the first half just isn't Ikuhara enough, and the second half fixed that. You seem like you just don't like how it relies so much on allegory, so you might be more interested in more conventional anime.
that was acceptable as it was expanding on themes already present. If Utena turned into a sail boat pulled a 180 and said, "Fuck it I love school" I'd have some complaints
>First half is bad because it didn't elaborate on things introduced in season 2
The allegories are fine. My only problem is that theme, characters, and even the plot direction are completely different. And all the build up from the first half is just thrown out. It could have been an entirely different anime and due to that it is unforgivable.
It just seemed like the first half was going nowhere. There was a significant tonal shift, yes, but I think it would have been better if it happened sooner, and then there wouldn't have been so many pacing issues in the second half and characters like Mario could have been more fleshed out.
I still think the series is a near-masterpiece, though, because it is so thematically interesting.
Themes for first half seemed to be love, loss, and acceptance, fate
nothing about punishment, and responsibility
Or if the characters were the characters from the first half
>nothing about punishment, and responsibility
Really? Episode 12 alone contradicts that.
And even without that episode 9 has a shit ton of foreshadowing about the events of the second half.
Yes but punishment by fate has no reason it's a cause of the sickness and serves the theme for Fate
>Oh yeah our parents were terrorist and that's why we must die
adds the theme of punishment as now there is an origin of the punishment and isn't just living life
I forgot to mention I haven't watched that yet. Presceening things before they air isnt me.
>Princess Precure seems interesting because it's inspired by Utena
Toei realizes their mistake, I didnt know that. Might watch this series then. Heard the OVA for that series wasnt good but who know? I'm pretty sure the director is new too.
>A long time ago, Haruno Haruka met up with a strange boy named Kanata. He gave her a strange key and promised that she will never give up her own dreams. A few years later, Haruka, now at the age of 13, attends the Noble Academy
I'm all for a light-hearted Utena, but it would be nice if we got an Utena-esque twist. Please, Toei, save this genre.
Do the bears ACTUALLY kill and eat people? I thought the whole thing was supposed to be light-hearted and silly, where bears 'eating' people was more or less 'molesting/eating out'.
The deal /a/ has with yurifags is that we'll leave you alone if you leave us alone.
The second you start coming to our threads again, complaining that a male MC isn't a girl, expect your own threads to have guests.
So that makes Akio the most innocent?
That just sounds like you're an asspained shitposter, though. The calling card of your kind is claiming to speak for the board.
>half of MAL dropped this show thanks to the anon and his horrible confusing subs
>male MC in series whose only catch are the girls
It isn't just yurifags.
No, no, no, it's a reaction on the part of /a/ to shitposters. No yurifag has ever been hated in a vacuum.
Just stick to yurishit generals and don't come to threads about normal anime, claiming that every female character who has a scene together are in love or crying that the female character you liked got stolen by a "dirty boy".
>There is something weird about these subs
>Nah, that is just Ikuhara - Subs are legit
>Just stick to yurishit generals and don't come to threads about normal anime, claiming that every female character who has a scene together are in love or crying that the female character you liked got stolen by a "dirty boy".
I'm pretty sure those are usually what we call "trolls". Don't respond to them and they will leave due to boredom.
Fuck, I guess I'm dropping this, then. I don't like dark bullshit in my yuri. Same reason I never got into Cross Ange.
When's the next Yuyushiki or Sakura Trick kind of yuri show?
