I miss the people who used to be here with me. Where did they go?
>I miss the people who used to be here with me.
No you don't. Stop deluding yourself.
The only people who left a lasting impression of themselves were the tripfags you'd rather forget about. Everybody else is anonymous and just as exchangeable as we have been exchanged for one another over the years.
Since we only have generals here it always feels like a lifeless stagnating board.
>Useless NEET trash still believe /a/ is for them
Its time to move on and find a career and build a family already you useless sack of shit or you can just kill yourself no one will miss you.
We moved on, i browse almost nothing but small imageboards now and occasionally come here to see if anyone's translated anything i might like but i'm doing that less and less.
It's slow as fuck but if you browse enough of them you can have decent speed, but i would rather have that then coming here for all the time. it's pretty painful to see
the top 3 are
It's kind of meh, bud Claude from r/a/dio owns the board and has maids that don't delete everything they don't like, but it's down right now
has a bit of a tripfag problem but otherwise good
it has 3 replacement sites, they're all bad in their own way. but they all leave their /jp/ boards alone
and a few others that i very rarely go to
There's enough people browsing on 4chan now that this isn't really applicable. This isn't a new phenomena.
For example, if I was the only person who stubbornly browsed with frames, moot would have long gotten rid of it.
>tfw you started browsing 4chan for weird porn when you were 16.
>tfw you're 26 and you're still browsing 4chan as a tripfag.
Where did it all go wrong?
Two paths exist as you age.
Remain neet and die inside, becoming a lifeless shell lurking the boards that only occasionally flashes a bleak smile at something not even funny.
Join the workforce turning into a normalfag, die inside, becoming a lifeless shell following its monotonous daily life with fake smile strapped to it's face only occasionally broken by what lies under it.
5 years here and wouldn't change it for anything.
I'm still here. This board has become a shithole because everyone's off in their own little generals. I really only go to the buyfag threads and waifu threads anymore, and I don't bother going into any others except for NGE discussions. I still like watching anime, but this place just feels so empty. And I still can't leave.
You're my only friends.
>not joining the workforce and spending all your wageslave money on statues of cute girls
I may hate myself but I would rather die than become a normalfag
>don't be surprised if it takes half a day for someone to respond to your thread
Haha, wow. I come here for the fast discussion with relatively like-minded individuals and the ability to run my mouth like a sailor with little-to-no repercussions.
I dunno what forums are like these days, but I'll never forget the time I got banned from one for like a week just for disagreeing with a mod about which FF was the best in an off-topic board.
4chan used to be fun, /q/ happened, moot decided moderating based on rebbit-style CATEGORIZATION instead of non-stupidity was easier, the creative anons left because OC became worse than AIDS, the mediocre shitposters moved in because you can troll as much as you want as long as you're not NOT ANIME, and now all is a vast wasteland of generals and unhappiness.
More or less.
No, I think it was the moment where I decided to watch anime instead of getting a new girlfriend AND becoming a tripfag.
You're absolutely right. It's basically become another shitty boring forum. I miss the days when 4chan was one huge fucking mess and you never knew what you'd find around the corner.
>Haha, wow. I come here for the fast discussion with relatively like-minded individuals and the ability to run my mouth like a sailor with little-to-no repercussions.
Well you're coming to the wrong place then, most mods hate anime now, and i've been banned for saying nigger multiple times
>Most mods hate anime
>tfw you started browsing 4chan because of lolcats back in 2008
Where does the time go?
It's possible to join the workforce, not die inside, and still post here. Maybe you should try.
I still peruse /a/ from time to time. I've been on 4chan since 05.
The problem is that I'm starting to turn into old man Simpson, and all anime is looking increasingly gentrified for the horny teenage otaku audience. I simply want more accessible anime that I can share with people, and more anime with legitimate philosophical content such as genre deconstruction.
I suppose Japan's birth rate issues will lead to another "lost decade" akin to the 90's, resulting in animators eating shoes to survive. Anno created Eva when he was hungry as shit. Takimoto created NHK when he was a crazy NEET. Great works will happen again.
Call me an idiot if all this sounds off-base. I just don't know if I'm right about anything these days with how volatile the markets are.
The only time I smile is when I post here.
I've been here since 2009.
I don't know what I'm doing with my life.
That's what happens when websites like this become popular. I mean a good portion of the 119 million posts made since this board was created were in the last year alone. There's more people, and those people all have their own interests. It's like comparing highschool to college. In highschool, you're forced together with a group of people all with different interests. Then in college, there's a much larger group of people and you end up just sticking with those similar to yourself.
Yeah, he had a nervous breakdown and decided to leave /a/ for MAL.
You're an idiot
Anime isn't for sharing with others. It's food for depressed losers who need their daily fix of escapism. There are still plenty of crazed depressed freaks out there, we just haven't seen them yet.
Sorry for the confusion, I was just talking about average forums, not imageboards.
There's no problem anon, I've been here about the same amount of time, you're just maturing. You're realizing that a lot of stuff you enjoyed was really just teenage wankbait. There's nothing wrong with that. I used to jack-off to ecchi manga in the highschool bathrooms, now I can't even get off to half those characters unless it's 10/10 artwork and caters to a fetish or two of mine.
4chan was almost impossible to navigate before extensions. You didn't have quick reply boxes, auto-refresh, unread post counts, reply notifications and backquoting. And if you didn't put noko in the name field it would send you back to page 0 after every post.
>and all anime is looking increasingly gentrified for the horny teenage otaku audience
It was worse in the 90s, but you were probably too young to notice it or maybe you enjoyed it.
As for wanting anime to be more accessible, it's more accessible than ever.
