Clear for all to see now
Yes, but Watanuki was good, as main character.
San, Belldandy, Revy and Korbo aren't the protagonists of their anime. I presume that this chart is simply a troll, though of course it could well be that its creator was simply an idiot.
I mean that they didn't have a lot of personality beyond of what was required for the story
But I see I'm probably alone in this. I don't want an argument right now so I'll retract my statement.
I can think of a few good exceptions.
That's a better way to say it, and I'm pretty sure some people would agree that their complexity as characters is quite low (if almost minimal if you only watch a couple of episodes of the adaptation) if you see them outside their own story, but that kinda misses the point entirely to consider a good MC, I suppose it's the perfect way to judge a good character, though.
If you read the thread you may have noticed quite a few others pointing it out. Are you trying to play an ad hominem here? Prove that my taste in anime and MCs is shit and therefore my opinion can be disregarded?
I'm talking about Shinji.
They need to pander to the otakus who buy the stuff after all.
So, they gotta model the MC according to them...
You're probably a yuri moefag who think he won some victory. You're too stupid to realize that there's nothing intrinsic about any of this. Male characters are written worse in anime because your Japanese equivalents are threatened by men.

Not sure if I can agree with this. Surely Kamina was well liked by nips too, right?
