Lets take a moment to remember all the good times we had over the years
Let's hope those /a/-moments will last post-moot.
I remember Accel-spammer's last stand back when.
We miss you, Accel-sama...
I'll miss that faggot. It's been good times, as terrible as it was.
Not many around who still remember the old ways.
Shit, I remember before that went up. There was a thread on /a] (or whatever it was called at the time) where they came out and said they were a sociologist studying us, and everyone was basically like "woah, that's pretty cool." Everyone was pretty chill and helpful, which seemed to really surprise them.
Good things don't last forever.
Everyone is just freaking out for no reason, nothing will change.
Just some unknown person will be in charge and nothing changing. Thus, any change will be targeted at no one.
4chan will truly be a place of anarchy with the law hiding behind the shadows as it was meant to be.
i guess that would make sense then.
Agreed. I prefer /r9k/ and talking about my feels without a bunch of angry faggots calling me a faggot for not pretending to prefer cartoon girls and a life in solitude.
Alright since were going down memory lane i need help. I've been looking for a fucking old cartoon off of youtube for the past month about
NarutoIt was some shitty flash that had like at least 5 episodes all about random Akatsuki shit and i specifically remember that annoying ass Crazy Frog song coming out around then and there were parts of that orange frog lip singing it and sasuke signing Somebody's watching me with orochimaru in the background.
Been a good 8 years now. I don't regret all of the time I have supposedly wasted here.
It's too late /a/non, this place is long gone. I miss the moe-shit era where every other show was a K-ON ripoff. Anime quality may have dipped a bit, but at least /a/ was better then.
I don't even know where to go now.
Called the MC lame for being a Chuuni, if I recall correctly.
Seacats threads were great until the RP kicked in
Another deflection of "those aren't OUR guys" yet again. It's like trying to deflect criticism of /v/ by saying "Oh it's just /b/". It doesn't work like that because /a/ has it's fair share of autists.
I hope you guys enjoyed your many SnK threads homegrown on /a/ being festered by tumblr.
Do you really think the admin will go and say 'hey everyone, I'm the new guy in charge, cya' ?
It's just too open. Especially since all the people working behind the scenes aren't really known to most people on 4chan.
Whenever something would change, people just assume moot himself did all the work or made the decision. It's just that moot is seen as *the* final word on anything which has been used to terrible effect.
>moot said X was fine
>moot said that X was not allowed
Without moot, no one will be able to use him, or the new leader assuming he/she doesn't show themselves, and boards will maintain their own culture.
Moot saying he's leaving might be an actual good change in the sense that there will be no change.
Remember when gore was a thing? what a time to be on /a/
Post that image that made you end up in this shithole.
I can't my old hardrive went and left its post of administrartion on y system and died ;_;
Anyone got the concept art with C.C.s tits?
I'll never forget you /a/...
because we can never leave
I wish that I could remember my early days here. I used to have an extreme on and off situation with 4chan due to being in an abusive situation at the time, and I kept having my computer taken away. Only after I got a new computer in my freshman year do I have a clear memory of posting on /a/ consistently.
It's still my dankest meme.
remember that time Nick Simmons traced Detergent?
Watch out for Taneli Daiz Vatanen

His ultimate goal is to kill anime.
However, you can stop him. Spread this list!
It's decent. Anime had a surprising level of fanservice (for harem/romance at the time), and the anime was fun because it gave us yandere Kaede whereas she's just complete deredere from day one in the game.
Didn't Shuffle also give us "a fat chest is a status symbol!"
Where I can find the song that was played during that shit?
>It turns out moot was the only thing keeping the influx of shit out, his constant bad ideas aside
>Normals and other cancers swarm in after hearing "that hacker site" is under new management
>The mods get pressured to ban loli and support people who don't lurk
>Normals and rec threads become the norm
>Accel makes his final stand
>Everyone starts liking Sakurafish
>That one guy finally realizes Suzaka was with Lelouch when they were kids
>Modcat and Kinomod finally personally pull the plug on /a/
>/a/nons' tears are seen leaking out of every neet's home worldwide
>And looking down on the new dystopian future he has wrought stands the one behind it all, his bald head reflecting the fires of all you love burning to the ground in hi10p
I lurked on 4chan for like 4 months before I finally posted something, and when I finally did I posted an imagebucket embed link in the text section so like 15 people posted reaction images to mock my retardation.
After that I was hooked.
It's funny because I still remember just lurking /b/ and being the newfag and underage at the time, I fell for those raid threads. Having the autist within me, I clicked the first one starting from the left which is [a/. Like finding a place to settle in, it just happened.
Pretty much I was an edgy depressed high schooler and I heard about how fucked up this "4chan" place was, and decided that it would be the perfect place to take my school shooter Charles Manson cult attitude to. Fast-forward how many years and I'm an adult too bored with life to have time to be edgy and I'm still stuck here. At least I left the edgy boards behind and can enjoy a good laugh at them
2005 I think, fuck I miss 2007-9.
>we never hyped Chiayafuru threads dammit
Not end up, but the one that made me stay
>mfw I have ridiculous amounts of work to get done but I haven't even started yet because I've spent my entire day mourning moot and nostalgiafagging on /a/
What is /a/ going to look like in one month?
I have to catch a train in six hours and I haven't gotten any sleep.
Or maybe I'm asleep right now and this is all a dream?
I came here for the anime and stayed for the discourse but this place has been dieing before now and moot leaving won't change anything but it's symbolic of the way the internet and society is changing.
Back when I first started coming here in 06 most online forums were still cesspools and I hated it but I understood why it needed to exist now that it's pretty much gone I wonder if people will ever understand how important it is to have mainstream forums where you could say or share anything without being "downvoted" or banned.
I also don't feel like I have an ideology that I can associate with. It feels like the two options nowadays are either get buttfucked by republican backed fiscal and social policies or get buttfucked by SJW ones.
I remember mods banning this and that picture of the pig with 'A To' on it.
>in another decade, people will post pics mourning moot as we mourn snacks today
If I leave I'm going to a less cancerous alterchan.
I wish accelspammer was the new admin, I really do
pretty much what happened to me too, came here for /b/ with the memes and secret club shit when I was 16
I'm 23 now. Biggest reason I'm still here is because it's the only place I've ever felt I belong, the only friends I've never had to hide who I am from
This is the end of my idea of how the internet should be. IRC is the sole remnant, I hate what we're left with.
anons, bets on how long 4chan lasts.
I'm saying 6 months to a year.
What you got anons?
Haven't you been feeling it creeping at the back of your head for the past months?
Depends on who takes over.
Could be as bad as five months.
Could last for several years.
Post in this thread if moot has replied to your post before.
I remember when he replied in a visibly short and annoyed manner when I requested better support for an outdated platform I was using. That was the only one of my many emails to him he replied to, and when I got it I felt as special and exited as the time I got a personal email response from one of my favorite musicians
Hey friends, I think I found it for you:
God I remember watching this shit on Newgrounds or something back in middle school
Great laughs were had, we were all retards, and we all came back for more.
You were truly...
A Japanese Image Board
>the glory days are long behind us
>we're all getting old
>moot is leaving forever
>the future is uncertain
an old /r9k/ thread asking about ways to fall asleep
I had seen all these may mays and wanted to find out where they were from, someone said here.
Never really an /a/ guy
/v/ from 2007to 2009
/fit/ 2013 to now
/toy/ 2014 to now
/r9k/ 2014 to now
/djt/ 14 to now
My first time I was here was when I was 15 and I was trolling people and there was this kid that was like "dude you're prefect for this site!" And I was like ok
My favorite memories were that guy that killed himself on /mlp/ and we just called him a faggot.
Scooby leaving /fit/
Lanced Jack being a shitposter.
My adventures with /acg/ being a tripfag
That whole 2013 was a rush like no other
My time trying to get into pokemon competitive
All that old stuff
The super bowls
The annual state of the union
Ill miss everybody
I'm getting a tattoo of the leaves on me emsomewhere
I don't think this shit storm should have been left out of that.
Or the marvel/AoT crossover, that was fucking hilarious.
I'm actually almost finished with my resume. Just a few more sentences ;_;
One time I posted about feeling suicidal and that post got hit by a Death Note get bingo. It was pretty funny I guess.
Although I didn't start posting until about a year later, I found out about 4chan after finding out about Chanology back in 2008 while researching scientology out of boredom. I guess that means I was one of the newfags who came here because of that exposure that all the pre-08fags say ruined the site.
>tfw all you funny pictures from 2007 and 2008 are on your dad's old laptop
>tfw it hasn't been used in 6 years
Should I try and get it working again?
I don't really have any good memories of this place. For the most part I missed out on anything particularly funny or memorable, and even when I managed to be part of something it just faded into the background where each day was filled with pointlessly posting and arguing with anons over the internet.
>tfw I'm a newfag who's only been here since 2012
It just feels weird that however many years down the line we'll be saying how much better things were when moot was here, kind of like how /b/ talks about Snacks.
I love you guys.
Maybe. It's my final year in college this year.
>Literally the last sentence
is this what /a/ has become?
Around 2012 when /b/ raided
9gag. I started browsing 4chan in general and even though it was so bad I couldn't help but keep browsing it.
I got into /a/ fairly quickly and then discovered anime, which ended up being the media I have most compatibility with. I just fucking love anime and I have to thank /a/ for it.
I have been here for a very long time, and I won't go anywhere else.
Is more pandering towards weeaboo shitlords.
Everything is extremely direct and stagnant.
Rarely anything shows up that requires its viewer to actually use their fucking brain.
I wouldn't say that it's that much worse, though.
If I wanted eye candy I would go look at porn.
I checked that place out when it was first a big deal, it's awful. It's literally full of /v/ and reddit, nothing else.
The only thing that will kill this place for me is when normalfags outnumber the weirdos and autistic freaks. That's when I'll truly be a fish out of water.
We'll never have something like this again.
oh man the amount of rage that was generate through endless 8
Does anyone remember that one comic strip with guys jumping on a girl's (I think it was Minori from Toradora?) stomach and the edit of these guys saving her?
For months cause of that shit man.
>All the names turned into Taiga and Lanced Jack.
I don't remember that ever happening. Must've been when the tripclones got to massive
>/a/ was so much better back then! R-really!
I don't believe this.
How you need to be to be called an oldfag? Back when the 'threads' were about a single image and floods were the way of trolling a board? I still remember that Dizzy flood here of all places.
Cancer is only cancer if cancer adopts it. Feelshit wasn't cancerous when it was lonely nerds talking about it. When it became something every ledditor and "nerd grill" used, it became cancer.
Lurk moar fag.
Back then there were no normal people in the internet, we could write like that and nobody would care ("pretend to be a retard"), but in 2007 face book and TBBT killed the ghetto wild west feel of the internet and made it mainstrea, we all moved to writing correctly while the "normal" people adopted that writing pattern ("being a retard").
I didn't cry before now, but seeing all the replies to his post did it.
>My favorite memories were that guy that killed himself on /mlp/ and we just called him a faggot
I haven't been on a board other than /a/ since 2009, are they really all that bad? And to think that people call /a/ mean for being elitists.
I have a few. They're all from the day when webbums were added, so the quality of some of them is a bit shit.
I've been browsing /a/ and /v/ for years, and I'm still shocked at how stupid this "rivalry" has been. I mean, /v/ is shit but the people who propagate that the most is /v/ themselves, nobody hates their own board more than /v/ does, and because of that everybody else parrots what they say, about how /v/ is the worst board, /v/ is utter shit, /v/ doesn't talk about video games, ironic shitposting, and so on.
/v/ isn't so bad as people in this board make it out to be. Sure, it has some problems, but overall. video game discussion still happens, not everybody on /v/ is retarded or shitposting (when it comes to videogames, they're still retarded when it comes to anime), and is actually better at handling tripfags than /a/ is. It's just that /v/ suffers from extreme lack of moderation. Just look at how big that board is. Reporting a poster that isn't OP? He won't get banned. Public bans don't happen there anymore. If you're shitposting and you're OP, chances are you won't get banned, and if you do it's only 30 minutes or 2 days.
Other than caps, I save entire threads but only started last year. There's a ton of untraceable shit ~2009 that I've missed.
>Sorry buddy, but that was /a/. /v/ was just as mad as you are when it happened.
I actually used to save up quite a bit of /a/ history. During my 10 years of stay. (its been that long already huh?) But many multiple hard drive reformats and shits have destroyed those data.
There was a whole series of these done for the various boards.
