When I remember the old /a/ and what we have today... wow. moot leaving made me think about this.
This is now a casualized board, with shit like Hero Academia and SAO around the corner and weeaboo-wannabe fags watching crap they don't understand just because Urobuchi wrote it or the japs say it's good, like kancolle.
To tell you the truth, I don't even know where to go now: MAL is worse, reddit is shit, etc.
But it's not 4chan's fault, I blame the industry for casualizing anime trying to get a higher revenue, and that kind of killed the community we had until 5-6 years ago.
Yeah the anime industry sure has casualized anime in recent years.
Well, shitpost in those threads if it makes you feel better. Some things are better off receiving the naruto-treatment than being ignored.
He probably means CR and shit like that.
You're the causal, faggot.
Might I remind you that the anime people talked about on old /a/ was the casual anime of the day. Hell, some of it aired on western tv, like all the toonami crap.
I'm sure that 10 years on nostalgiafaggots will claim SAO was good.
Yeah, in recent years we've had a massive influx of antisocial autistis like OP who jumped aboard after 2010 and pretend they're some kind of anime specialists, who actually hate anime and spend all their time complaining about the people who do. I fully understand why moot decidided to abandon ship.
I actually havent seen either of the two you mentioned
bebop seems to be universally highly rated though and ghost in the shell was just perfect
seeing kancolle threads suggest it's very bad and hero academia... well, I don't know
How about pre-2005 /v/?
The /a/ i loved and admired have been long gone, OP you are not alone in your sorrow, even when most of the site only jokes arround I'm enough man to admit that Moot's retirement has made me questioning alot of things that i've been choosing to ignore to feel myself on my safe zone, one of them is what this site has become, what the industry has become.
I'm not sure if i love it like i used to or i just do what i do out of customs keeping my status quo, I'm sad about Moot leving but at the same time I'm glad for him and i truly wishi¿ him the best, I don't know if i'll be staying here long enough too.
You are the same cancer who kill /v/.
Cancer who think he must shitpost all day every day because someone dare to love something he doesn't like.
Following pseudo-elitistic attitude in order to fit in, to the point you actually think this is all for real.
Funny thing, because back then peopl hade e same weaboo plebeian tier tastes that you hate.
Guess what, this is not what /a/ was about, it was about having stupid fun, with chinese cartoons.
Eh I didn't like Bebop much either, some episodes felt like a chore. But it's not really comparable to something like Kancolle that's just ridiculous shit made solely for people who like the game, they're on different levels.
Instead of just complaining, why not I don't know, make thread of things that interests you? People do still talk about classic stuff from time to time and nobody's forcing you to swallow their shit taste.
Also, reminder that the objective quality of the discussion on /a/ and of the anime industry hasn't changed. It's just that we have grown up over time without even realizing it.
