my friend says One Punch Man's art is simple and unskillful and that he could do it himself. How much of a fag is he?
Murata's art does have this simplicity to it, but there's a lot underneath it. He shows of a great understanding of anatomy, he plays with perspective, there's a good amount of diversity in his character designs, and a lot of other stuff, which makes him one of my favorite artists.
Queen had my heart from the start, but FemLR sweet baby jebus
One can only hope our drawfriend comes back and has her and femGenos.
it certainly is simple, however it is far from unskillful and he certainly can't do it himself.
And that is talking about JUST the artstyle, the rest is plain amazing.
>How much of a fag is he?
He makes Genos look straight
It's disgusting how he just uses grey or black to fill in everything. The motherfucker literally has no proficiency at using screentone. He has an over-reliance on digital effects, too. The manga is filled with blurs and transparencies.
Absolutely disgusting. He lacks the ability to tastefully use varied techniques.
>BLUR BLUR BLUR
>BLUR BLUR BLUR BLUR
Fucking get real
The amount of "Art Attempts" intrigues me, mostly because they all fail to meet the expectations of REAL art.
>Quote from a REAL artist
"I'm a college art major and I'll tell you why it is not art. I'm not being bias because I like anime and just got back from comicon. Anime is for the most part the same thing over and over. They eyes, hair, and the bodies always look the same in almost every anime. There is noting that sets apart one artists style from the other. If you were to compare one persons anime drawing and look at anothers you would notice that the eyes are gonna be drawn the same and look like every other anime. In art you have 100s of styles and are free to do what you want. But in anime you are confined by the normal standard anime style ( big eyes, crazy hair etc.) Anime is a very very very hard style to do anything new or ground breaking in. If you were to break the mold and do something new it won't look like anime anymore. Think of how many styles you can draw a person in, hundreds from abstract to impressionism to surrealism. Now think of how many styles you can draw an anime person in and still keep that anime style? You have very few styles. I think iits art but, I think it's a lower form of art and honestlly not as talented. Anime art is very black and white nothing new once you seen one style you have seen them all. Hope this helps."

why are they so delicious?
The person who made this may be idealizing occidental people a bit too much.
> that nose
Oh fuck, it explains everything.
I really was about to ask "what chapter is this from?", then I read your post and filename.
> browsing pixiv
> mfw artist of pic related is the author of Tsugumomo
My life was a lie all along.
Mr. Art Major here relies on a flawed argument. He's basically saying, "A lot of anime have big eyes, crazy hair, etc., and if you break from that mold, it's no longer anime!" The faggot created his own definition of what anime is ("confined by the normal standard anime style"), cries that you can only make limited variations that fit the definition, then excludes those that do not fit his definition because "it won't look like anime anymore!" Using his definition, Ping Pong isn't anime, which is wrong.
The fact is, anime is just Japanese animation. Ping Pong is anime, Lucky Star is anime, Sword Art Online is anime. It's not an art style with a predefined set of traits, it's an industry. What he calls "anime art style" is merely one style that has become popular among the Japanese. If anything, he should blame the Japanese market for the popularity of a particular style.
If he wants to criticize the style, it must be done on its own merit, not because it is "for the most part the same thing over and over." That's just barking up the wrong tree.
No he's not, Anime is shit because it gives people bad habits in the concept of real anatomy
if you like anime, you're probably one of these faggots who draws this shit.
>Sex with Saitama
>Consecutive normal thrusts
I don't even a S rank hero can survive that, she'll constantly orgasm to death
I agree with you, I'm an artist myself and a professor at the university of harvard.
We teach our students how to make REAL ART by avoiding the essence of anime and manga.
Their tendencies are to ruin the skills of younger students and distorting their concept of real human
anatomy and facial design, These students are the bad apple of the entire class as they rely on
templates such as the giant head mold and the exaggerated eyes.
Oh, so we move now to the proliferation of bad habits from the lack of variation? Don't try to move the goal post.
Bad habits can only be blamed on lack of interest or effort to learn the fundamentals and lack of guidance. How many more kids create shit drawing without anime's influence? Just as much, if not more.
Again, criticize the style for its own merits, not because of the consequences its market creates.
What if he's just average at sex, while King is a boss thanks to his king engine who makes his dick a vibrator.
What does Mr. Art think about Takehiko Inoue's art.
I'm a french artist student, and I can say teachers are quite the dick about anything manga related for no reason. I usually get the remark "manga looking" when I have a style that is far from what we can usually see, besides being in the top students of my nude drawings class. It's getting pretty annoying when I still get that when asked to make a comic as a project, when I was literally the only one making diversified and detailed panels with perspective.
Just saying tough, I'm shit in many others lessons, art isn't only about drawings.
Great artisan such as yourself realize the beauty of realism and how anime tries to ruin that concept by bringing cancer to the perception of good art.
Here is an image proving how bad anime is.
On your left, a shit-tier doll made by the "BEST" Eastern doll maker
On your right, a doll made by some randomly selected Westerner, he was volunteered to make this doll and he rarely had any skills.
Now tell me, there is something wrong here, Why do Eastern folks suck ass at making art? Because they truly aren't, creative people.
Murata isn't even going 100% digital, he's still doing his pages traditionnally, then he adds tones and effects numerically.
Hell, his color pages are done with markers, he's quite a terrible example to be butthurt about digital.
Try out new stylizations? Make the most variations possibles in your current style.
It become pretty bland when a well known artist makes the same face for every archetype for his characters.
Also yes, old hags are so narrow-minded, they are likely to appreciate you to put the good old national heritage of comics in your works.
This >>120636284 is actually a real concern for those trying to teach the fundamentals, IMO. Many students do try to stylize without mastering the fundamentals first, which can be frustrating for the teacher. If he knows that you've already mastered the fundamentals, I don't really see why he should be butthurt. It's probably a bias ingrained in the cocksuckers of "real" or "high" art.
This thread makes me feel so glad I didn't go to art school.
However it doesn't make me feel any better about being a NEET.
Hell yeah it is. My art goals aren't all that lofty, my friend went to art school with the goal of animating his own cartoon. I'd be happy with just a webcomic like OPM and I know as long as I keep drawing I won't be shit.
-The chin is -2 below the tolerable line of the female body
-the neck is too geometric to even be considered organic.
-again with the bad habit of using the head mold which makes his head huge.
-eyes are extremely small and nose, mouth has no depth into them.
-there is no need to for shadowing when you can't even shadow your own face and give realism to said expression.
that was a typo on my part
The problem is that you think that anime has anything to do with art.
anime is not art, so regardless of what you say on behalf of "artstyle" is a laughable statement.
King is the best girl what are you talking about?
Yeah well, that's just like, your opinion, man.
Marvelous...! This is without a doubt pure, genuine art!
Must be why both Araki and Taniguchi got an exhibit in the museum of the Louvres, adding that Akira was choosed for the great price of Angouleme in 2014.
Yeah, I know you're just baiting, but it's too tempting.
Have you even heard of exaggeration?
It pushes one character's traits to the extreme to accentuate the impression we have to the said character.
In this case, King seems like fearsome and reckless, even when his face says the contrary.
>There are still people saying that anime is not art
How I pity those who try to argue with such fools
I literally don't see anything wrong with his colours. If anything, his technical skills with anatomy and digital painting are the only reason I really like his stuff. other than that his style is just pretty stock standard anime.
But french museums deeply loathe ecchi.
If Kaori had her breasts explode from pressure in the process of getting killed, they wouldn't have called Akira a great manga/anime.
They would have called Akira a mysogenous piece of garbage that represents a disgusting country that idealizes the evil sexualization of female teenagers.
You know, I'd pay attention to random guys on the net, but I've learned that talk is cheap and opinions are a dime a dozen.
I'd rather learn and study successful artists like Murata who've won awards and are wealthy, rather than, say random guy on the web with his fancy college degree education.
I'm sorry, there's no hate, but you're an amateur, and he's a professional, and only an idiot pays attention to untested amateurs and ignores the proven, tested and recognized skill of a professional that makes his living of his talent.
You'd realize the guy who is criticizing the art is probably someone who is studying an art major and because he assisted some classes he can spill some shit out of his mouth .
anyone scrolling through don't bother with this thread it got derailed by some autistic college art student who thinks he's the next Picasso or some shit
just don't even bother with this thread
>never mind that it is LITTERAL pedophilia
Yes, even martial arts.
the problem is that these alternative "arts" actually takes effort in doing them.
Anime does not.
The only thing considered an artform on anime is perhaps the environment, but thats silly because they borrow the concept of other art techniques to do this, blending someone else's art technique in your bowl of shit is not considered art, its considered a half breed.
It's fucking disgusting, yes.
But the paneling is solid, at least.
> but her personality is really shitty.
Look at this Murata only faggot.
It's a new doujin from Pixiv, author just posted a few pages, censored.
Not into this pairing, but it doesn't look that bad.
That HAS to be either the cover to a different doujin, or ironically bad, since the art in the censored page that was posted is way better.
Might be a more drastic eversal of the saitama/Fubuki one though, that one had an amazing cover but just mostly okay art.
Saitama is blushing too much, doesn't really fit his doodle face.
oh... erhm, hmmm...
never mind, hype back on track
Will Blizzard's kokoro be dokidoki for Saitama after this
It's true that the artstyle can be a bit jarring at times. There are parts where it's pretty obvious that he just shooped some shit in and slapped filters over everything.
The meteor really looks out of place in this shot, for instance.
I think he had assistants do that? When the chapter came out, it was mentioned that they just took pictures of real life places.
However, that's not really something you can really criticize in regards to his art style. It's an expedient method for getting unimportant stuff out of the way, anyway. I didn't really like its use in the meteor chapter, though, but it's fine here
The point still stands, the artstyles simply don't match. There's a lack of consistency in some of the other scenes too. It'd look much better if he drew everything by hand, but he's taking long enough as is. Don't get me wrong though, Murata's a good artist.
His action scenes are great, it's just that he tends to slack off with the "unimportant" pages.
Yeah, I was going for the low-hanging fruit. Kinda surprised that it's almost been 2 years though.
Are these guys ever gonna come back, or did One forget about them?
