New episode in a little over an hour, Roe2 and scrub Shenanigans will abound.
Light novel translations are continuing here for anyone who can't use the archive: https://mountainofpigeons.wordpress.com/
Currently up to part 3 of the first chapter
I don't think I've seen this posted in a depressingly long time
It's Roe2 not the scrubs at least, or so it seems
Maybe the B-team will get hit by a bus and won't make the episode shit this week.
fucking hell Serara, no wonder you're so fat, using that much mayo
Roe2 is from a species without bodies, so she is borrowing one.
Not completely unlike pic related.
that anon says it every time it comes up without having any evidence of it, might as well be a meme at this point
>Ahh, the novel based on the replays of four other LN authors, kinda like Red Dragon. The title for anyone curious is "Log Horizon TRPG Replay: Princess of Twilight and (the) Adventurers" (「ログ・ホライズンTRPG リプレイ 宵闇の姫と冒険者」) =3
>The stage is set at the Ritorabure Islands (based on the RL Bonin Islands), where four stranded Adventurers attempt to return to the mainland. On their way back they come across a mysterious Lander girl Nagi, and gets involved (or dragged into) the incident surrounding her loss of memory.
>The post at mamare.com describes the players as "(over)flowing with character", so I guess this should be quite a fun read =3
>Now to introduce the players themselves. As usual, rough translations so be warned, mistakes lurk around every corner. Moon-readers, please check and correct where necessary >_>
>Dual-blade Swashbuckler. Basically the surly but good-hearted type that brandish her swords for the sake of another and at any obstruction in the way. Also the kind that acts before she talks. An otherwise lovely young lady (if not for a certain flaw...)
>RP-ed by Ayasato Keiji, author of the B.A.D. series (Beyond Another Darkness). I read the first seven chapters of the manga adaption and it's pretty dark indeed :heh:. This is apparently the first time Mr Ayasato has played a TRPG, and the sight of him bumbling along with his player character has a healing effect it seems (.... =w=)
>Samurai. An otherwise fine young man (if not for a certain flaw...) versed in both learning and the martial arts. A fine tank, a dependable man, dandy, but then again... that wolf helm... =w=
>RP-ed by Murasaki Yukiya of the "Haken no Kouki Altina" series. Seems like the lively guy that cooks up the atmosphere =3
>Hedgehog AK ヘッジホッグＡＫ
>Summoner. The elder gentleman that leads the party. Chides the youngsters' brashness while supporting them with a variety of summons. A nice grandpa (if not for his cowardi- err, certain flaw of his o3o). The company-president-type of guy.
>RP-ed by Maruyama Kugane, who is the author of the OVERLORD series which (aha!) set in the popular VRMMORPG Yggdrassil. One fine day this worldwide game suddenly terminated its services but the players found that they were still stuck in the game and the NPCs had somehow gained sentience too. At this hour, an avid gamer and the guild he had founded came to this world, and this young man, who had now became the Undead Overlord, Momonga (which is the Japanese name for flying squirrels) and the greatest magic-user to boot, proclaimed that he shall conquer this game world! Ensue fun.
>The above introduction comes from what KadoTaiwan has written on their website. But running through wikipedia, it seems that this is more in the spirit of LogHora than SAO, especially when I think our Overlord in question might actually be a rather peaceful person. Also, the drama CD cast includes Hino Satoshi (Issac) who played the titular Overlord, as well as Hara Yumi (Marielle) and Kato Emiri (Akatsuki-cha~n).
>Ehem. Anyway, Mr Maruyama is a fan of TRPGs himself but he hasn't the chance to play any for a while due to his workload. His experience is still shown in the clever way he played though =3
>Err..... Hmmm. Okay............
>Master-san is, one who can't help loving the game, a young lady with deep sensitivity. A Kannagi who protects everyone unarmed with a Barrier. As such, she shows remarkable talent when it comes to support, providing apt protection and healing. Behold! How it moves the heart and the dignity (she displays) as she assists (her companions). Without a doubt the heroine (if not for a flaw of hers... o3o)
>I must confess, I can't help rolling my eyes as I read this with a wide grin :D
>Ehem! Anyway, Master-san is RP-ed by Mr Shibamura Yuuri whose work includes Gunparade March: Another Princess (author) and Marginal Operation (to quote /ak/ wiki "A 30 years old Japanese NEET joins a PMC in the Middle East and becomes the handler of some delicious brown loli soldiers." Rated Mature btw). He's also the creator of another TRPG, "A no Mahoujin Rule Book: Next Generation" and is described as one well-versed in games old and new. Calling upon his expertise, his game was well-played and his "beautiful roleplay is a must-see".
This part was too good.
The author is a genius.
Was there nudity in the Elder Tale game?
My fucking sides.
You had one job.
Eins is a Minami spy.
I mean we already knew but now we know Shiroe knows.
Marmalade needs to have one of these guys as a character/player in his group.
Is this nigga serious?
Nope, we murica anon.
Man the scrubs are such faggots, I would march with my skeleton summon buddies anywhere.
what the fuck?
>travelling with loveable onee-san
aliengenderbent Shiroe and the fluffiest djustable foxtits
>Best boy gets a crush
Keep up the good work, Mamare.
Roe2 a best
Does she ever manage to drop the Vampire subclass?
I'll miss her cute fangs
With instant revives in the same place as your raid, etc... there's no need for healers, so go heavy on DPS and crowd control at the expense of your sanity.
Effective, but dehumanizing.
Though I wonder what would happen if it was destroyed mid way through a revive, or even at all, they'd then have no bind point; or would the point reset to the cathedral before that
>Easting all that mayo
This is why she's so fat.
>You're now in a sub character
>learn you're incarned in both, your femal subchara and your male MC
>he's just like you but in a different body
She used like 8 tablespoons of that shit
Jesus fucking christ, I hope she doesn't do that to Nyanta's cooking. That's downright offensive.
Also what's up with her face. Damnit deen
The complaining about Nureha's hand in the beginning is pretty funny considering the spinning part is the best animated scene in either season so far.
Isn't he a Vipper who released stories on 2chan first? I don't think it can get any worse.
Also from what I recall, he said that the studio (for S1) was overjoyed that they received so many letters from western fans, they legitimately didn't expect that.
If he doesn't come then it'll be probably because he doesn't want his dick sucked by a million anons with the mod stickying his thread.
Except that plenty of people don't care and in the west it's being more and more readily acknowledged as a source of good hype and business.
It's not like there aren't creators who don't regularly come around. Sadly reddit is normalfag central and has a lot of exposure clout too. If the creator isn't in with this sort of scene they aren't too likely to visit and if they do despite unfamiliarity they won't reveal themselves.
No one informed thinks of this place as anything other than it is. It's bad reputation is down more to it's hostile interactions with industry than netcrime and hackers and legion shit (although the fappening probably brought back some of the old ideas). That rep is an old dead horse everyone has forgotten and its about time you stop beating it.
>the studio (for S1) was overjoyed that they received so many letters from western fans, they legitimately didn't expect that.
It would be easier if you consider most nipponese as xenophobic hypocrites, and their official statements as hollow half-truths.
There are multiple aliens, but can you swap to something without a physical body? Anyway, she seems to imply that she swapped to Earth during the whole moon date, but how that worked I have no idea.
You got something against mayo?
I actually like mayo in specific situations
But if I was a chef and someone drowned my cooking in it I'd be pretty annoyed. There's a level at which it stops being a condiment and starts being a suppressant.
Someone needs to re-shoop this gif.
The war isn't really a war and no Krusty won't appear, The author's pretty much written him out of the story because he didn't know what to do with him. That "He's in china" thing was a ruse and I don't know why 4chan continues to parrot something like that with no proof.
There won't be a war and Krusty is gone for good.
The real reason Mamare went for the MMO setting is because killing each other doesn't solve anything, so everything has to be resolved with POLITICS and ECONOMICS.
I want to believe anon.
It makes more sense to have him written out because it makes the flavor text of weapons and gear more significant to the story, than if he would just come back.
Let's say you are trapped in the database, will you be a professional, or are you a nobody?
Real world ability/profession: Electrical Engineer
What you would/can make or do:
>Induction motors, electric generators
>Fans, generators, lighting, lifts, escalators
I suppose I will be working with the scientist/crafter guild on big industrial projects and infrastructure. Kinda sucks that there won't be any decent semiconductor processing facilities in the near future so we can't build computers or electronics. Also, the system would negate things like telecommunications, and magic seems to be easier, greater than missiles/radar.
Probably stable income, but heavily dependent on the economy. It seems the F&B industry might be easier to gain riches.
I wasn't sure how to begin writing, but I should start with a greeting.
Hello, world. Hello, Shiroe.
At the moment that I am writing this letter, I am in central Yamato, in the town of Sapphir's Inn. (TL: This is the town the younger group saves in volume 8/S2)
After I finish writing this, this letter will be entrusted to my acquaintance Minori.
I hear and read a lot about Shiroe of Log Horizon. I have a strange sensation when I hear that name. This is because your memories are still inside of me.
Just as you <Adventurer>s were brought to the world of Theldesia from a different world, we too are from a world other than Theldesia.
My name is Roe2.
We are <Traveler>s. From your perspective, we are parallel universe mental bodies. (TL: A body made up of thoughts; emotional body = made of emotions, physical body = made of matter)
I am also your younger sister.
You probably expected this, so I cannot apologize for this year, but we <Fool>s (kanji is read as "inspectors") and <Genius> (kanji is read as "gatherers" both belong to the <Traveler> race, so I was not able to explain anything about the <Eclipse> (kanji is read as "pact"), which you call the <Catastrophe>. I can explain the <Eclipse> accurately if I describe it precisely, but this is also only our understanding of it, and is neither a clear principle nor a solution.
Still, we are slightly ahead of you, although we are simply carrying out our duty. This is because, even though I am your younger sister, I made a promise as an older sister to Minori.
About that, why am I Roe2?
Why am I your younger sister?
I will describe it to you.
We <Traveler>s, like you guys, arrived in Theldesia because of the <Eclipse>. However, our world was much farther away from Theldesia, and we did not have a physical form to begin with.
That is why, when we arrived in this world, we borrowed bodies that already existed in this world.
If what Minori said is true, you are a very keen, intellectual person.
I think you'd understand if I explained it here, but I have been in this body for a month, but there has been no "connection to the soul," as it is called in this world.
I wanted you to forgive me for taking this form without permission.
Your thoughts and memories remain strongly in this body.
Because of rebuilding my vocabulary data, I was able to explain myself to you in this way. I owe you many thanks for giving me the ability to speak in the words of this world. Repaying you was one of my motivations for writing this letter.
I would like you to read this letter with an open mind.
You might feel like ripping it up at any moment.
I get bored with MMOs really easily. I'd probably be mid level at most, assuming I didn't get unlucky and start a new character on the day of the apocalypse or something.
Ideally I'd be a magic class, because despite having a bit of engineering training I'd much rather fuck around with spells and shit. It seems a lot more fun to me to try and figure out the rules behind the magic system and invent completely new uses for it than to try to recreate the technology of the real world.
Who needs escalators or fans when you have portable controllable fairy rings and magic climate control.
I'm a NEET who's pretty good at DMC combo shit, does that mean I can perfect move canceling and stuff with Leonardo?
I just want to join Kanamis party and have her give me a qt nickname I pretend to dislike
from the first web chapter of volume 10:
no, it still cuts off there reading it, but we then get a monologue of shiroe listing all the problems other than genii etc that he/Akiba are facing
Seems like a lot of legit professions will be put out of a job in the database. Medicine would probably be useful if you can delve into DNA sequencing or poisons/drugs. As for Electrical engineering, maybe a telecommunications satellite between servers (e.g Japan, China, USA, etc) or the creation of the Internet, but that requires advanced infrastructure.
Adventurers are necessary enough, someone gotta go out and hunt monsters for food, and generate new loot/gold.
Why am I... imagining a monster girl brothel right now.
Because summoner master race
>Medicine would probably be useful if you can delve into DNA sequencing or poisons/drugs
Too bad I'm an anesthesiologist, which is literally worthless in the Database, because surgery hasn't even been invented yet.
Everything but the basic necessities is pretty expensive, and even the basics are probably increasing in price because no one wants to bother churning out level 1 meals and selling them for pennies when they could be making badass high level food that probably gives buffs and shit.
And everything near the city is pretty low level so the loot is mostly pretty shit. It actually takes quite a bit of time to travel now that it isn't a game anymore, so if you want to kill stuff for gold you either slay trash around Akibahara and probably earn relatively close to a minimum wage job, or spend a day or two going to a higher level(and riskier) area to earn more.
Also, the problem isn't really that people are poor and can't afford anything, its that they have no reason to do anything else. Even if they did go kill monsters all day for their gold, it just means they're adding money to the economy without adding value and nothing would really change because the currency would inflate to where the new baseline is people that grind trash all day instead of people who sit around and do nothing. It wouldn't fix the actual problem, which is a large portion of the population not contributing anything.
How often does Serara take the barb, /a/?
>so if you want to kill stuff for gold you either slay trash around Akibahara and probably earn relatively close to a minimum wage job
All you need to do is kill about six or seven goblins a day, I think. That will drop you enough gold to live in a decent inn for a day (food will probably vary more).
So one solid day of bashing level 20-30 trash could probably net you a week of living relatively comfortably (since the inns, and thus accommodation, won't have had price alterations thanks to the fact that they're run by Lander innkeepers - at least presumably they aren't skyrocketing in price).
A one-day or two-day work week is pretty cushy. That doesn't even get into the players who built up a fortune in items and gold over years of play.
The welfare state could be a good thing if a part of it also included training the unemployed in skills that could be used to get them into meaningful employment, rather than just a free handout.
This is TOO LEWD for my database to handle
>not making a female version of yourself to fap to
Since medicine is a non-issue for adventurers, I guess I could make gunpowder, bombs, or chemical weapons. Or if oil exists in the world, that could open up a whole new realm of possibilities.
Team up with some engineers and create a couple of RPGs
filled with sarin gas
Also, there is little to no reason for you to just dick around doing nothing in the city when all you have to do is grind in the field for a while. You're stuck in a game with a blank slate for a life you lazy NEETs. What else do you fucking want?
As a speculative fiction writer, I think I have the most freedom in improving the adventurer's quality of life.
With just the Apprentice subclass, I think I can find a method to break the very concept of class/subclass restrictions. Failing that, I'll just goad a Scribe into pulling it off.
Oops, wrong pic
OP as fuck, needs nerfing
>that creepy noise it does
>"It revives you instantly... but it kind of fucks up your soul a bit"
That part was ominous as fuck, thought the retards were trying to go home, not become hollows, why are these fucks carrying it anyway?.
