How can anyone actually think that Log Horizon is better than SAO?
Because SAO doesn't have a coherent plot, its characters are two dimensional and the opening for Log is 10x better than SAO. Also
>Implying that anyone here compared SAO to any other anime
Different people have different tastes and preferences. Since these are based on opinion, none can be right or wrong.
I enjoy Log Horizon more than SAO for my own reasons. I'm sure you like SAO more than Log Horizon for your own reasons. Some people like both equally, some don't like either.
Anime like this are truly for neckbeards it's like something they always wanted and, they did but made it even more horrible to enjoy because of their fan bases especially Sao.
SAO is all fucking filler except for maybe 3 or 4 episodes. It has a plot when it feels like having one.
You sound like a faggot. People who enjoy SAO at all should be rounded up and buried in a hole, so we never have to hear about their shit taste.
Only good part about SAO airing was that it gave an easy indicator of how autistic someone is, so now you can easily avoid associating with retards simply by asking if they like SAO.
The creators of SAO are like 10 year olds. They guess at what an MMO is, they guess what romance is, they guess what "plot" is.
They're both shit, but I've got to agree, SAO's first couple of episodes were decent, where LH dropped right after they rescued broomstick and nyan from shit-city. Dropped SAO the episode he fought his lover's guild leader since I knew where that lovey dovey horeshit was going.
The only good anime set in a video game setting.
The saddest part is once you take away the MMO aspect and come up with a less well defined setting (i.e. Accel world) Reki isn't even that terrible. (Though from SAO to AW is way more than just a change in setting.
The actual MMO parts of LH are the best for people who actually enjoy MMOs. Though the recent drop in quality along with focus on the least interesting characters in the entire series make for some very shitty episodes as of late.
I can see how Minori & co. give a chance to show Shiroe's in a mentoring role but honestly they should have just stayed in the backseat after hamelin. Everything after that just felt contrived.
I would love to see one of you LH fags try to defend the current arc.
Surely you jest. I'm not going to say it was worse than SAO but it was a real snoozefest. Not to mention that they only used the MMO setting in the most shallow way possible,it barely came across as a game, they could've replaced VRMMO with "People meeting during lucid dreams" and most of the plot would've stayed the same.
Only good thing to come out of it was the soundtrack.
Log horizon S2 is so fucking boring.
What happened to that eminent threat of being invaded by the other server with the black eared whore?
The entire season feels like a filler episode, nothing has happened.
If you're insinuating that Kawahara (SAO's author) never played MMOs, he did. He played Ragnarok Online when it was big, and kept complaining on his Weblog about the absurdly low drop rate on items such as monster cards.
You can practically smell the overcompensation as he sends a steady stream of ultra-rare loot into the laps of Kirito and his e-waifus.
SAO starts off like a good MMO, but becomes Bullshit later. They do a lot of time skips because no one wants to watch people "grinding" but that takes away the MMO essence. Its a shift in tone, and it goes even farther down the shit hole with AW because fucking fairy MMO's are the worst in the business, there's goddamn incest, and Kirito never developed as a character. He is always the "lone wolf" type even though he's surrounded by tons of sexy ladies of different stereotypes, and is always the "dark and serious guy" when he's really not.
>Implying that we don't like SAO because it's popular.
Go lurk you fucktard, we don't take a liking to your kind here.
Its a borefest if you come to it expecting stuff like SAO, which ruins your experience with a lot of anime if you assume its going to be like another in its genre. Most MMO's are a lot of people talking, fighting for a bit, and talking a lot more.
The animation is decently better in its style of the MMO, its excecution of the MMO world is much better, and immerses you, the characters feel legit. It's not perfect, but its better than SAO in a lot of ways. You watch these shows because your expecting a show about an MMO. You expected it to be something else?
It may be forced, but the romance is still better than LH. LH's best romance story is pic related's harem
But it is. LH has superior characters, music and a story that doesn't fall apart when its about economics. I wish they spend 3 seasons on making everything proper though, now they're picking various things from the LN that we probably wont ever see finished.
a rational person on 4chan
what the fuck are you doing here, get the fuck out.
original statement was basic so it got a basic response
pic deff related
So is SAO's. He has a varied amount of girl character to pic which stereotype will be his waifu. He's a chick magnet because he's "Good at video Games" That's what normal girls don't usually look for, since he could be some introvert pervert in real life. He's bland, and is set in many perverted situations with other girls, making him practically a harem MC.
>Implying that forced romance is any good.
If I wanted forced romance, I'd got to Tumblr or Fanfiction.
> Most MMO's are a lot of people talking, fighting for a bit, and talking a lot more.
Yes but those MMOs don't have people talking about society, why people are social creatures and shouldn't stay alone, why it's good to not run away from your problems and other moral stuff.
WORDS WORDS WORDS is the least of its problems, I've read plenty of books and I enjoy most of shaft's shows, hack is simply uninteresting in its base form and the characters don't feel authentic at all. Most of them feel like robots or actors reading off a script and not real human beings. I don't know if the game is any different, but the anime is just that : boring as hell. It's not like I need to see action, I would've been fine with a laid back relaxing MMO experience from some crafter classes, but spending the entire series on the hedgehog dilemma is overkill,
I obviously don't think of it as an achievement, just wanted to say that the show isn't boring because of the amount of words, but because of the meaning of those words, and that I enjoy infodumps as much as the next guy.
That is true, but .Hack is a lot more appealing and thought provoking than Whore Art Online. Reading a lot books doesn't make a difference of whether or not you enjoy an anime. And .Hack sign was not made by Studio Shaft. It was by Bee Train. So don't make an argument using a comparison to other studios without your facts straight.
>Implying that SAO isn't a bunch of characters reading their chosen dialog off a script.
The action is good, but repetitive, soundtrack is amazing, but a soundtrack shouldn't make a show watchable.
I don't think highly or lowly of either of them. I never bothered with SAO, so all the "It's bad it sucks it's shit glop" is just a meme to me and doesn't influence me to think it's bad. Likewise with LH, "it's great it's better than SAO it's all real-mmo-like" that its /v/ fanbase spouts doesn't make me think it's good either. From an outside perspective, each fanbase just gives different flavors of the same praises and criticisms (if you can even call them that) as to, respectively, why their show is good and the other is bad, so much so that it's not worth the mental effort to differentiate the two.
Can we just turn this shitty thread into a LH thread? I just saw the recent episode and I want to talk about all the foreshadowing that's been going on in this arc. I don't understand why no one likes the focus on the scrubs when all this spooky shit is going on around them.
Were we playing the same game? You had to bot 24/7 just to get enough oridecon or elunium to upgrade your shit and everybody used to aim for +7 or +8 stuff.
Also the grind to 99 was terrible.
Maybe if you were worried about maxing out for MVPing or WoE
The bulk of the game was level grinding and you could do that naked because gear only gave you moderate bonuses unless it was +5 or greater.
>Maybe if you were worried about maxing out for MVPing or WoE
Aside from hat collecting that was basically you did in that game. It was straight up level from 1 to 99 then go to WoE or hunt MvP's since fucking PvP was is shit and still is shit.
Even though I pvp a lot. Always laughed at the tryhards getting rekt and going full autist mode
LH: A story in a MMORPG-like world written by someone with actual MMORPG experience.
SAO: A story set in a MMORPG written by someone who has at best single player RPG gaming experience.
.Hack: A story set in a MMORPG written by people that barely know what a RPG is.
Also the story of LH doesn't revolve around a single fucking character.
>but .Hack is a lot more appealing and thought provoking than Whore Art Online.
I agree. Did you see me saying otherwise? Read my original post, I'm saying hack is better than SAO but still boring as fuck.
>And .Hack sign was not made by Studio Shaft. It was by Bee Train. So don't make an argument using a comparison to other studios without your facts straight.
You completely missed my point, I used Shaft as an example of studio which uses a lot of WORDSWORDS.
>Implying that SAO isn't a bunch of characters reading their chosen dialog off a script.
But I did not ever imply that, what the hell man?
