Who are your favorite anime directors, /a/?
Mine are Yuasa, Ikuni and Oshii. In no particular order.
The rest are talentless hacks.
Under the Dogwill save anime.
Imaishi and Yuasa
His storyboarding and planning are incredible, and the staff he puts together is the best in the industry. You might say storyboarding isn't the responsibility of a director, but everything is done under his guidance, so when you see something like pic related, you know it's been done to his style/liking.
This is a makeshift splitscreen between a woman and her living clothing. Tell me that isn't raw, and I'll spot a liar.
You probably haven't even seen Oshii's work or UY or Gosenzosama Banbanzai or Ikuhara's work on shows like Goldfish Warning and Maple Town or Yuasa's work on Shin-chan yet you call them your favourites, quite laughable.
Because I follow the staff of anime?
I agree that Imaishi is good, but KlK is a shit fest, plagued by retarded plot in the later half of first cour and second cour. Also subjected to no budget, eye killing, cancerous animation.
Bald man of shit writing, doing that new Gendumb anime.
Shitbo, the stealth marketer.
Imaishi, the guy who ruined Kanada style animation for everyone.
Takemoto, I guess Hyouka was half decent.
Yamada, the inventor of modern moeshit.
Junichi Sato, a director who directs nothing.
Watanabe, he practically makes shitty Holywood movies.
Makoto Mariwaki, his dame dame shit is ironically enjoyable at least.
With Ikuni and Yuasa, that makes ten. Happy, faggot?
Do you honestly think I could have written the descriptions if I wasn't already familiar with their work? I went as far as writing those just so faggots like you wouldn't accuse me of googling. But I guess /a/ is just too irredeemably stupid.
Plus, I must admit I had some trouble remembering their gooky names.
Ikuni makes true art. He might have been influenced by Dezaki, but only stylistically. Dezaki made corny shit for masses, I just can't accept something like Space Cobra as having artistic merit. Shitbo is just a Dezaki copycat with some otaku flavor, I don't see why I should appreciate his work
Hosoda is a worse Miyazaki, while Sato's anime are just painfully boring and trite.
Get over here.
>I'm not talking about his Sailor Moon.
But his Sailor Moon was wonderful.
So you have never seen Ikuhara's work on shows like Maple Town or Goldfish Warning then? Or for that matter Oshii's work or UY or Gosenzosama Banbanzai? You don't even know who these directors are.
Do you really think I should spend my valuable time to watch some kiddy shit just because Ikuni did some episode directing here and there? I watched his true masterpieces.
I don't care about Oshii enough to watch 200 episodes of UY, which is one of the first prime examples of otaku pandering garbage in the history of anime. I don't care about fapping to Lum's ass and Oshii being its director is not enough to make me care. I should get around to watching Gosenzosama Banbanzai though.
I never said I was familiar with every single work these director did, which quite frankly I'm sure the vast majority is not noteworthy. I don't see why you think watching a director's entire body of work is necessary to regard them as good or bad.
She's part of Yuasa's crew, so she's bound to have a breakout eventually. Her work on Kaiba was great, and her Space Dandy was so amazing I honestly thought it was Yuasa himself.
I don't see how you can say a director is your favourite if you haven't even bothered to watch their stuff and are forming your opinion on a less than half understanding of their work.
>otaku pandering garbage in the history of anime.
You sure know how to press my buttons.
