ITT: Anime that let you down. They don't have to be actually bad, just below your initial expectations.
Monogatari. With the way people always hype it up as being so well-written I expected a bit more than a constant stream of shitty fanservice laced with just enough plot to convince a man with his dick in hand that it was compelling.
The ending was pretty meh, some of the arcs were poor. I did enjoy it a lot but it certainly isn't the 10/10 gold standard of grimdark anime I was told it was going to be.
This. It was doing fine until a plot wobbled on and fell flat on its face.
So much potential completely wasted.
Probably Yuri Bears, I guess Ikuhara being involved made me hype it up too much.
I was probably expecting a more wild ride than Penguindrum.
It really liked the beginning, but then it got boring with the childhood friend and Ohana became annoying. Ended up dropping it at episode 14
She is still a cute
Really? I thought the ending really salvaged some of the more sluggish parts of the show. Do you consider the ending the final scene, or the climax in the town? I can understand finding the town disappointing, but the final scene in the hospital was fucking awesome.
Anohana. It had potential, but after 4 or 5 episodes it went down the drain with all that melodrama.
>Poppo suffering the greatest trauma of them all
>seeing Menma die
>let's not even mention it, because TEEN DRAMA
>watch the first episode of Psycho-pass on keyhole with /a/
>not my cup of tea, never continue
>right after it came the first R;N ep
>why not, I don't get much chance to watch anime the moment it airs with /a/
>end up liking R;N
It wasabsolutely worth it.
