Ok, I can understand the appeal of tsunderes when they're done right, but why the fuck to people still obsess over tsunderes? They are arguably the most overused character archetype in anime/manga/etc.
The only good tsunderes I can think of are Asuka from EVA, Rin from F/sn, and Emi Yusa from Hataraku Maou-sama.
Tsunderes these days are annoying as fuck and succeed in doing nothing but piss you off with their predictable nature. And the worst part is that tsunderes keep getting more and more unlikable to to point that they come off like violent, ill-tempered maniacs.
tl;dr: I fucking hate tsunderes and you have shit taste if you think they're great.
OP here. I forgot that Kurisu from Steins;Gate was technically a tsundere too, but she was actually done right too so she's an example of a good tsundere.
They're overused because people obsess over them. People like the expected.
Plus you know, probably 90% of watchers hope the girls around them that act like they hate them are secretly in love.
>implying it doesn't mean that you've been indoctrinated into the tsundere cult
Tsunderes are like Scientologists. They're all trying to brainwash you into thinking that they're great.
“Fantasy is escapist, and that is its glory. If a soldier is imprisioned by the enemy, don't we consider it his duty to escape?. . .If we value the freedom of mind and soul, if we're partisans of liberty, then it's our plain duty to escape, and to take as many people with us as we can!”
Did you really just quote Tolkien in defense of tsunderes?
Considering that Anno specifically created Asuka and Rei to mock the archetypes
and failed spectacularly, I'm certain there were tsunderes before.
Besides, to be a tsundere, you need dere.
Asuka had no dere. She was just an aggressive bitch with heavy emotional issues trying to compensate for her abandonment and inferiority complex.
The post you quoted was implying that it's not just "otaku" that are "retarded" but rather that the characteristics in question were far more widespread.
Seriously, have you seen any RomComs lately?
>to mock the archetypes
I thought he liked them.
>tl;dr: Stop liking what I don't like
No. Now enjoy this picture of Shana.
>The only good tsunderes I can think of are Asuka from EVA
>being a faggot
I bet you fap to turbogay JoJo doujins.
But Senjougahara is a kuudere rather than a tsundere.
According to Wikipedia:
"Comiket organizer Koichi Ichikawa has described Lum Invader of Urusei Yatsura as being both the source of moe and the first tsundere; figurine sculptor Bome has also cited Lum as an inspiration for his designs."
There's a reason why I said "ironic": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_mtIYV0iqo
I don't have the webm, but here's a picture
Not to make any trouble but I liked BB way more than Rin.
I actually liked Minami. Her sheer amount of failures made her an entertaining character.
Senjougahara is just a smug, obnoxious bitch who thinks she can make death threats or abuse people and get away with it. There's absolutely nothing appealing or special in her character. She is mediocre at best.
Im sorry but only Kuuderes can prevail
tfw can't pick best girl between Yukinon or Yuigahama.
>Crab will never give you a cute death threat
Male tsunderes will always be superior in every single aspect.
