>Anime is dead
>Anime is dying
Why do people believe something so dumb?
I blame the moe shit and ridiculous deadlines that mangaka have to meet thereby forcing them to dump out content that isn't very well made.
Well, I can't say is dying, the industry seems healthy to me. However content has been stagnant forever, a good, original series pops every now and then, but is mostly just fodder for the obsessive market.
Can't complain though, I have contributed jack shit to the industry by pirating like a mad cunt and shitposting about shows I don't like on the internet.
There's also the SJW issue that may endanger artistic freedombut is very unlikely to happen any time soon, so no worries.
They're cartoons, no one else will take them seriously except for the fans and filthy rich corporate old men.
Anime is catered to its fans, nothing else.
Nobody wants to do anything remotely good these days except for
Kill yourselves, seriously.
>god anime is so trash, how can anyone watch that?
>proceeds to pay for Guardians of the Galaxy and TBBT and further contribute to the death of cinema and television in the west
Everyone gets mad at the stuff that doesn't pander to them. I've heard fucking /v/ of all places say they're too smart to watch anime. I've seen people who sit on Facebook 24/7 say that anime is a waste of time. Everyone is a hypocrite. Including us. Just do and support what you enjoy. That easy. There are some legit anime oldfags that feel that anime have developed for the worse. I guess they're the only ones with with actual capacity to make such a judgement. Not the average fuck.
>Waiting for Yakuza Ishin to be released in the west.
Can you please tell me what exactly? I honestly cannot bring myself to like anything airing right now. And everything I've liked before feels retroactively bad to me now.
People make the mistake of putting together decades of decent anime, and then compare that to a single season and then go on to make angry online rants. These are good times indeed.
>Anime has never been this varied
It also has never been this bad.
The otaku population can only shrink, since none of them are having children. And it's getting smaller all the time. The main problem is that as the Japanese otaku scene dies out, the internal otaku economy drives prices higher and those core otaku will pay more and more.
Because you keep making these threads instead of watching anime you dumb faggot. The board wouldn't exist if I would make a thread everytime someone says some stupid shit. So hang yourself OP.
Which is why fucking anime studios need to have better western monetization scheme. They're losing a fuck-ton by not providing something that's just as easy as piracy, but higher in quality. I guess it's very hard for conservative Japan to pull something like that though.
>The otaku population can only shrink, since none of them are having children
I have heard this a few times and it gets more and more retarded. Being an otaku isn't hereditary, it makes no difference whether they have kids or not.
Well there are some cute shows like Kancolle and Koufuku Graffiti which I enjoy a lot, Death Parade is really cool and interesting (was kind looking for it since Anime Mirai). Yatterman looks interesting, I have yet to catch up with it. Rolling Girls is a lotta fun, although I dropped it because I felt like it was going nowhere. There's also the previous season leftovers, Parasyte is fucking great and Aldnoah Zero seems good enough, I don't watch it though, is simply not my cup of tea. So on and so forth, everyone seems to be enjoying themselves lately.
The only thing declining faster than the quality of anime is the quality of anime fans.
It's gotten to the point that people think crap like Steins;Gate and Fate Zero are significant entries in the medium, lol. Bunch of aspies with shit taste in anime.
It means that if they have no friends to bring into the otaku scene, and normies have no interest in getting involved, and the otaku don't have kids or a girlfriend to get buying anime shit, then they remain the only people pouring money into that industry, and there's probably like 100,000 or less of the "hardcore otaku" left in Japan.
you know how to make me smile.
>and the otaku don't have kids or a girlfriend to get buying anime shit
Why would they do that? Dating someone doesn't mean you suddenly start having the same hobbies as them. Otakus dating or having kids is absolutely irrelevant, it won't have any kind of impact on the size of the otaku population.
Furthermore, anime for normalfags and kids stop being made because they don't watch it on TV, it's the content producers following the consumers, not the other way around as some seem to imply.
I forgot to mention Tokyo Ghoul, which is your typical edgy show that a lot of people enjoy, I didn't like it at all, but can't really talk shit about it, because it has enough quality and popularity to be considered a success.
Why is it called Under The Dog anyway
my uncle who was a genuine NEET ( a cool NEET tho, had tons of burned games and a chest of anime shit )
he used to watch inuyasha and then i got into YGO around the same time and it only expanded from there
I dunno. Lat time I heard of it they were announcing they were leaving the production company that lauched their KS campaign.
they seem to have kept most of the people actually making the anime, but still.
I'm saying the anime scene isn't growing. So unless there is some kind of injection of new people to the scene, most of the really hardcore nerds will just die from poor health or age and nobody will replace them within the otaku economy, until it's like a couple thousand sweaty nerds in Akiha funding the whole industry
Do you know what scene is growing? The gaming scene. And its growth is directly responsible to its decline in quality. Anime fans should consider themselves lucky that anime isn't a normalfag hobby. Lest you end up jaded and retarded like /v/.
We're at the point where you can hardly play any video games. Years ago I said that I want video games to be popular and now I wish that they were not. It's sad when you think about it because now I'd rather be called a fucking nerd for playing games instead of being accepted. I don't want to associate myself with /v/ at all though.
