That is not how you bait Anon into posting.
>Not including the most famous vidya role
Relistened to Hakobune Kyuukeishitsu since the somewhat recent "non-anime music" thread made me post some Natsu no Arashi stuff on it.
Yasumoto's story about his arranged marriage meeting on a sight-seeing boat still made me laugh. Also, Omigawa's sudden change from his "normal" speaking voice to Jun felt extremely surreal, every single time.
He is pretty popular already, but another boom might happen because of Persona 5.
When he was around 20, his dad told him he had tickets for a sight-seeing boat. He didn't really have anything else to do and wondered if his dad had something important to talk about, so he agreed to go. After getting on the boat, his dad introduced him to some old man (apparently higher-up at his work) and his daughter and revealed that it's an omiai.
During the first few minutes, Yasumoto in turn revealed that he already had a girlfriend and had absolutely no plans to go out with someone else, which obvioulsy shocked the other party. The next few hours he was stuck on the boat, eating dinner and watching fireworks in a terrible atmosphere.

Needs more Wooser, Ibuki (CFV), and Dent (Pokemon)
There are a lot more important roles before you get to those that aren't there
[Part of the "Psycho-Pass: These kinds of merchandise would NEVER sell!" corner]
Nojima Kenji: This kind of merchandise would NEVER sell!
Seki Tomokazu: A Dominator that tells nothing but dirty jokes. I actually think that would work.
NK: Yeah, I do too.
ST: I mean, you'll be engaging in *bleep* play with Hidaka Noriko-san.
Ishida Akira: Now now.
NK: I had to bleep it.
ST: "Your Boner Coefficient is..."
IA: Ha ha, come on.
ST: This is kind of a similar story, but my car's ETC (Electronic Toll Collection) system is voiced by Hidaka-san.
ST: Yeah, when I changed cars and started the engine, Hidaka-san would go "A card has not been inserted." or stuff like "Error." and it reminded me of a Dominator, so I got kinda excited. So I told the director about that, and apparently Hidaka-san does those kinds of roles a lot.
IA: Huh, really. Like GPS systems and stuff?
ST: Yeah, like GPSes. That's the reason they asked Hidaka-san to do [the role of the Dominator].
IA: Oh, I get it!
ST: That's why, in today's gadgets, Hidaka-san's voice is like-
IA: The standard for voice assistance systems or something.
NK: So like controllers and stuff too.
ST: Yeah, yeah.
NK: "Your rice is ready."
ST: They've really put a lot of thought into that.
NK: I'll bet that if they save her voice data, they could use it for the next hundred years.
Sorry I watched FMA during my dub years, it was a dark time.
I just went back and checked the jap dub, I never would've guessed it was a female actress. Alphons sounds like a girl, but not Ed.
Is it common for females to play teenaged boys?
It's common even in western cartoons.
Old women doing young boy roles is extremely rare outside (reprising old roles) in the current industry. The only recent major one I can think of is Tanaka Mayumi as Luffy, which was a special request from the Oda (and happened over 15 years ago when she was still in her 40's).
Today the pool of seiyuu is so fucking huge that you can even find male seiyuu specialized in young boy roles.
Outta my way Japanese fucking shits.
