How do I know which sub to download?
You go with the one with the most seeders and be content with the fact that you don't know anywhere near enough Moon in order to discern the differences and quality of each individual sub.
Bakedfish makes sense in the very specific case that an anime is only being subbed by Funimation with no fansubs. Because if it's going to be hardsubbed and look like ass, it may as well be hardsubbed and look like ass at half the file size.
By downloading whatever one has the most seeds and ignoring /a/'s obsession with sub accuracy for a language they they don't even know or speak.
>rub a dub dub, thanks for the grub
gets me every time
Always pick Commie.
I'll humour you OP, basically, HS is the most reliable because it's just a script that grabs CR/Funi streams. Regular sub groups are a gamble, sometimes they can be good, but sometimes they fall behind on projects, so if you're keen on watching as soon as possible, HS is the only consistent option.
If you're looking for archiving purposes, the key is to get BD rips with nicely styled subs and balanced filesize:quality ratio. The group that released it usually isn't as important, but I don't grab bloated flac audio releases, myself.
Only download HS if there is nobody else subbing the show, anybody is better. (although most of the time all they do is change HS script around so it doesn't sound)
Coalgirls are normally the first to put out BDs, until somebody else comes along that knows how to compress.
DeadFish take HorribleSubs and set it so that the video isn't complete shit, that's pretty much all they do.
Download whatever Underwater puts out, hail Daiz.
I hear them in my head when I read them!
Don't you feel stupid now?
>For archiving and storage
Whichever gets the blue in nyaa (UTW, FFF, Underwater etc)
Commie is a hit or miss. Recently they are more of a miss.
Also don't download 1080 versions of HS.
Stay away from 1080 and FLAC if you have poor man's space and bandwidth
Use BD versions for old and finished series, and be sure to seed them.
>Also don't download 1080 versions of HS.
Completely wrong. 1080p HS files typically look superior to 720p HS files upscaled to 1080p with Jinc. In fact, in some cases the 1080p HS files will have the highest picture quality available of any source until BDs are released.
Bigger is always better.
Because fuck you I want to sing along
Those were great.
>By the nyaa cartel?
Pretty sure the cartel isn't real.
>The same one which has multiple commie members as moderators?
I'm also sure the TL for Commie's Twintails didn't review his own release.
By the time you realize there was a cartel your subs will be completely monitored by the Commie Committee for Compliant Fansubs
They are re-encodes of other releases meant to be played on toasters and devices that don't support mkv files. Nothing inherently wrong with them but you should expect lower quality and you don't get to choose which subs to watch.
