This is an original anime to advertise for a shitty housing district in Japan? Is this common fucking practice because who are they trying to impress here? Oh yes, we want our otaku scum of the earth an hated by Japan to be lured here by a show about young girls. Are they trying to get rape numbers up, because I guess they need a population boost anyway is feasibly possible.
There are already like 3-4 anime using Saitama as the back drop.
You don't see any crime rate going up.
On the other hand, Sasebo is still the place with all the horrifying crime happening.
Hanasaku Iroha was also an advertisement for some small town too. Or was that something else?
Anyways, I don't care. I'll probably try it just for the fact that it's advertising a specific region of Japan.
Reminds me of Sora no otoshimono
>we want our otaku scum
Stupid. Otaku are the best residents.
They never leave the house, so you can massively skimp on infrastructure like roads, public transport, shopping districts, parks, entertainment and recreation, etc. Just pack'em in high density housing and provide fibre/cable (which'll be cost effective because of the near 100% subscriber rate) and they'll quietly, happily dwell while returning you a massive profit.
- Water actually still looks like water
- Minimal garbage around
- Vegetation is actually still capable of growing
- Not a single glue sniffing hobo in sight.
Shit son, compared to the waterways round where I live, this place might well be a goddamn paradise.
Kamogawa was Rinne no Lagrange. And it never works when you're that obvious about it. Otaku tourism can happen when it's a good show that just happens to take place in a real location, but if you're explicitly aiming for tourism when you write the show, people wont give a shit.
I bet it would be pretty if there were some sun out. You guys are too hard on it.
They don't need!
the perfect number of population to a country of size of Japan is around 80 million
They will have better salaries and better like condition if mean they can pay more taxas and lower public resoures
I should go be an English teacher in a shithole town in Japan.
I bet small town life there is more fun than it is here, because they don't have heroin and meth dragging the town down into ruin.
I like the artstyle, the girls are cute and Locodol was enjoyable, so i will give it a watch, it could be fun.
>Seyuu: Asami Seto
>Seyuu: Miyu Kubota
Look at that, nothing can't be fixed with photoshop.
What was that anime which 'advertised' some town and had a cute camera and cute girls in it and shit? I think it was some sort of healing anime, and some anon took pictures of the place too and they had posters of the show.
Surprised they did that outside of Tokyo.
I remember before Locodol actually aired there were plans for many regions in Japan to promote their area with anime
always wondered where all those shows went to, guess they are starting to pump them out
Seyuu: Yo Taichi
Pretty much my expectations for it, god i can't believe i might get disappointed by a fucking moonland city propaganda.
God that one was awful, thankfully the were no more subs for it so i stopped watching it.
There are a lot of shows that have advertised towns and tourism spots. Hanasaku Iroha may be the one you're talking about.
I'm with OP.
Why the fuck would you advertise something through a medium that in Japan is only watched by unemployed otaku trash and hated by the general population?
Normal Japanese people look down on both anime and the Otaku scum.
It worked once so now everyone wants a piece of it.
>Normal Japanese people look down on both anime and the Otaku scum.
Are you a normal Japanese person? How do you know?
The kids who used to grow up with anime are starting to become or already are adults now.
They are catering to the right people
>Seyuu: Keiko Watanabe
This one is a complete new seyuu, outside of a small part on a idolmaster side stuff.
Shittier shows were subbed, and that is what the sub community should do, sub shows without subs, even if they are awful.
Moonland people are not as smart as you think.
Pink batgirl a best, PLOT drills a okay
>The kids who used to grow up with anime are starting to become or already are adults now.
Most Japanese people stop watching anime by the time they start High-school, since it's seen as something really immature and embarassing that only kids and failed adults watch.
Most of the Jap society hates anime and wishes that it never became part of their culture.
>From gunpla/toys/manga to LNs/places/games
Well yeah there's that but anime mascots are also being used for totally irrelevant demographics such as a housing district like the OP and also Windows and shit like that.
>Fucking stupid, how does this actually reach anyone?
It reaches the filthy otaku, that's all that is needed.
Anime is actually extremely niche in Japan, you're expected to grow out of it when you hit 14/15 years of age.
Only weirdos and genuine autists continue to watch it past that age.
Again. How do you know without having been to every place in Japan personally? Was there a national "Do you like anime?" poll?
What you say is what the rest of the world percieves from other Japanese media and those aren't accurate depictions of reality
Seyuu: Nao Tamura
Well, that's it, predictions for best girl? Hopefully a sub group decides to sub this out of boredom.
Which is funny, since a lot of people would not give a fuck about glorious nihon if not for animu.
Hey, maybe it's working, Locodol got 9th or so place of favorite anime of the year in a japanese poll posted here.
>Every one going for boobs girl because boobs
I guess since we don't know much about them it makes sense.
Japs wouldn't say that they hate anime to your face anyway, since they're discouraged from expressing how they really feel, especially in front of a filthy gaijin.
Since mainstream Japanese media usually trashes anime and disgusting otakus, it is safe to assume that this is what the majority of the population feels like.
>Which is funny, since a lot of people would not give a fuck about glorious nihon if not for animu.
Does niohon really want those type of people interested in it?
Disgusting and unadjusted weeaboos?
Normal westerners might, but normal Japs aren't allowed to watch anime.
Your social life, any dating prospects and career would basically be over in Japan if anyone found out that you're a grown-ass man who still watches cartoons aimed at children and perverted permavirgins. Men would lose all respect towards you and women would simply be disgusted.
Sad but true anon, Japan is nothing like your anime.
Well, i know 20 or so weeaboos who went to Japan and came back with tons of animu/mango/vidya shit while i have yet to know a single person who went their for the "culture", so at least the tourism industry likes us.
Old men ruling the world.
Is Japan really such a depressing shithole full of empty husks of people leading shitty lives like /a/ makes it out to be?
Is this why they make their anime so bright and cheerful all the time? To forget about the shitty place they have to live in?
It can work as long as it's a good show first and foremost, that just happens to take place in a real life location.
But if you're too obvious about the "<City> is awesome, please visit", it won't work. Again, Rinne no Lagrange is one of the worst offenders in that regard, where having to whore out Kamogawa fucked the show over when the show couldn't leave the place.
Lemme ask you one thang, "Why do white sheltered fat teenagers listen to gangsta rap and act all edgey online?"
The opposite is sort of true. check out the music of Glasgow, Scotland.
Sora no Method had a pretty awesome location.
Shame the show wasn't good.
>anon going through self realization
Want something made by old people for old people? Go to /lit/, everywhere else is in the same intellectual level.
But it's not. It's for basement losers who want an escape. There's a reason it airs so late.
Only shit like Log Horizon and Gundam air early enough to be for both audiences.
