I upgraded A/Z for you /a/
Aren't they biting off more than they can chew with Slaine now leading a third faction with only 3 episodes left? Before I thought he was just going to become Emperor and reform Vers but he doesn't plan to do that at all.
Maybe Slaine will rally his loyalists against the current Vers monarch and ally himself with earth in exchange for a country of his choice where he can settle.
Qich, what's the gayest country he could choose?
His plan is more or less the following: Unify the Knights under his command, use them to conquer Earth, and assimilate the Vers Empire. (Which will probably collapse from being abandoned by it's own military, the Emperor's timely death, and general unrest)
He wants to create a new superpower with both Earth's resources and Aldnoah's technology, and distribute Aldnoah privileges so that it doesn't turn into another shitty feudalism. Doc Troyard's research may well end up coming into play for the last part.
I could see him have the lower classes rise up against the nobles, would be very easy for them to take over the castles and overthrow them. Slaine is like a hero to them, if he's turned on he might use they might revolt. Who knows, that might be something Slaine has been having Harklight working on.
Pretty much the entire war will be decided by how Deucalion's next attack goes.
If Slaine comes out of it on top they could easily just timeskip straight to his utopia because they're the only opposition he really has at this point.
I doubt that's what he wants to do because the counts would never go for that.
And even if they did, would he really want to give any power to those mongoloids?
His plan needs a way to get rid of Vers too.
It's not that simple. Not everyone on Vers is a backstaber like he is. And there are people who respect their counts.
Crutheo's son's crew seems fond of him. And like he, I bet there are plenty of others.
Might depend on the make up the the staff, if they're all poor third class people then I can see them turning if it means they can have a better life for themselves and their loved ones. From how Harklight talked while he may be living comfortably his parents are still low class and poor back on Mars.
The Counts give no fucks as long as they don't have their Aldnoah access taken away. Slaine as far as they know controls Aldnoah through Asseylum, and they don't particularly like the Emperor either. (Or have any allegiances for that matter, they're basically feudal warlords with Aldnoah as a leash.) Slaine is more of a leader to them than the royal family ever was, even Inaho admitted after the marriage that Asseylum's influence was basically gone. (Assimilated by Slaine)
Vers is in the war specifically because it's on the verge of collapse already. The Emperor directed the unrest of Vers' people against the earth and abated them with promises of Earth's bountiful resources. When it gets out that Slaine basically plans to keep Earth for himself, Vers will fall apart. (Especially if the Emperor dies or is assassinated) They're not going to just pull a new military out of their ass if Slaine takes the knights and bails.
It'll be curious to see what happens if that is the case, if the Deucalion is going to attack the Imperial Palace then Slaine is probably going to use it as an opportunity to off the Emperor and assimilate his power as well.
If they're being sent to Mars then the mission might be to wipe out Aldnoah for good, basically they're being sent on a one way trip with no way to make it back home. It's easy to see why Darzana was so annoyed.
Speaking of the marriage, doesn't Slaine being married to Asseylum basically make him the crown prince?
If/When the Emperor dies, all of Vers will fall under his control, including the Orbital Knights. (Whether they want to or not.)
>only 3 episodes left
I wouldn't be surprised if they milk this cow for all it's got, and we get another season. I don't think any rumors have gone out like that, but it still wouldn't surprise me if it happened.
I don't think they know enough about Aldnoah for that to be the case.
Unless Aldnoah turns out to be some eldritch bullshit that will ultimately kill humanity it will, in all likelihood, be a power held by the winning faction.
The UFE are bound to know enough about it, the UN (which became the UFE) were the ones that sent the people to Mars. Then there's whatever Dr. Troyard was doing which might have been tied to the UFE as well. Vers is small, attacking it on Mars wouldn't be terribly difficult I imagine.
I'm amazed that nobody has questioned on Vers side why the Deucalion is still running when Hime is in a coma.
Dr Troyard never returned to Earth and Slaine doesn't seem too fond of Earth either, it's very unlikely that he was just an Earth spy all along considering how highly regarded he was by the Orbital Knights.
Either way if they are meant to attack Aldnoah, it will fail because the final conflict will inevitably be centered on Slaine.
I think because not everyone knows that "near death" can make the aldnoah drive go offline. It's probably one of many aldnoah-specific details that are not made public.
I also imagine it to be like when people get a brown-out in power at their homes. Sometimes it's enough to turn your computer off, and sometimes it stays running (but you should really be running a UPS on there).
Slaine was pretty butthurt about the princess mentioning Inaho. He probably suspects they had a thing going, like how Lemons suspected him and Asseylum due to him having access.
They are just rushing everything into the last 3 instead of spacing it well over the course of the show. Maybe an OVA or movie.
The satellite belt would consist of the debris from the moon getting destroyed. I'm assuming what remains of the moon is further out than that.
Sounds like a space battle
>Sending a single ship to defeat the entirety of planet Mars
Now that's some eye bullshit.
Moon is within the satellite belt, you can see that it's within the same orbit as the debris.
It's not, whenever you see the moon there are asteroids all around it. Remember in the A/Z world the moon is much closer to Earth than in real life.
What would they think if they all knew it was a training model?
Slaine wouldn't be hated for being evil and would survive at the end and chances of understanding end would be much higher if he was a girl.
Inaho would also be seen as moe instead of autistic.
The UFE are not being painted in a good light at all right now, it's probably intentional. Maybe they are planning on having the Deucalion join Slaine's third faction down the line? Though if they did I'd suspect a sequel is in the works.
Actually, I'm thinking that Deucalion will attack moonbase, get severely damaged, but saved by Vers Imperial forces under Asseylum's orders through Crutheo Jr.
>People think they're going to Mars
What use is a catapult when none of their mechas fly? They run along the ground, so launching one out of a catapult is basically turning it into an allah akbar.
Would they really need to do all of this for a catapult?
FACT: Slaine and Inaho are going to meet face to face again
FACT: Slaine is at the moon base
FACT: Asshime is likely going to be reunited with the Deucalion crew at some stage
FACT: She's currently locked up in Slaine's castle, which is at the moon base
FACT: Even when she gets busted out, she won't be returning to Mars
FACT: The assault will be on the moon.
She's really getting tired of the UFE leaders, isn't she?
Aldnoah seems like the kind of thing you can just steal if you have someone like the princess at your disposal. Vers probably thinks a bunch of men on earth gave their STD to hime while she gave them Aldnoah at the same time.
He should have kept it to masturbate over it more instead.
She has a lot of responsibility as princess of Vers, and Grandpa is on his death bed. Crouton Jr is right there, able to commute her back as well. She may stay to establish resources through diplomatic means.
>view her as an Aldnoah battery
People are really hung up on this as if Slaine isn't doing just that (and then some with the propaganda machine). The worst the UFE has actually done is run some tests on her blood to learn more about Aldnoah.
Plus, I don't see any reason she would even have to go to the UFE in any official capacity anyway so long as the Deucalion and her crew exist. She could pretty easily disguise herself as she did before.
I don't bother trying to make many- this show relies far too heavily on random asspulls to bother with that. As you can see, I'm don't exactly go in with much conviction either.
Asseylum has been the face of the war, even if she exposed everything they wouldn't trust her. The UFE distrust anything relating to Aldnoah and want to wipe out Vers, I don't see them allying with them.
Have you forgotten vers attacked earth, even before this war? And the UFE fucking hates vers. All of the orbital knights of vers are independent. Slaine has some united. The UFE can't ally with vers. That would make vers split up again and we don't have time for that.
He already fails at being Athrun. Athrun was a very loyal person to his ideals, no matter whose side he was on, he actually still had honor, Slaine is closer to Lelouch.
Also, Inaho is an antithesis to what Kira is. Inaho is a pessimist, Kira is an idealist. Kira tries to minimalize damage by accuracy, Inaho just carpet bombed the replicator
Even Inaho thinks she wouldn't be able to do anything. She'd have some loyalists but most of the Knights want a real leader, she is no leader.
>That would make vers split up again and we don't have time for that.
The three counts sent to spearhead Slaine's mission to take control of Earth once and for all being annihilated simultaneously might put a damper on Slaine's dream of a "unified front". I could easily see an opposing front forming if word gets out that he just imprisoned the princess and her sister that he had been parading around as their princess.
It isn't too hard to see a situation where the Martians negotiate an end to hostilities in exchange for the Deucalion's help in taking down the Terran that tried to play them.
They were not sent to take control of earth, they were sent to secure an area and take out military, which they accomplished. The only ones who would care are the loyalists, but all the knights are not going to want to ally with earth and the UFE has a strong distaste for martians and are comically terrible people. They have no interest in negotiations.
I, too, think Crouton's son is going to bring his sweet memories of abuse back. It's Slaine's only turn on, anyway.
Inaho already paid him back for that.
Pash has something Slaine related? Ono interview:
I know animedia has the Inaho, Slaine and Clancain and Rayet and Inko poster while Animedia Delux has Slaine, Harklight and Crouton. Pash has something Slaine related, what does Newtype has?
When he was talking to Books after Books returned to his castle.
Don't make such hasty accusations, Slaine has the entirety of Vers behind him currently, wait for the right moment, etc.
poor guy still waiting on hime to be useful in this story.
Barry. He has techniques.
Why couldn't they have Saazbaum's ghost instead?
Fujos have shit taste. Sauce is the best man.
Fujos are shallow and want beautiful blond people together.
Not sure what Harklight is doing in that picture, though.
How do people get this impression when he came straight from mars to meet Slaine. I'm pretty sure the "chance meeting" title is between them since Slaine didn't expect him. The sudden Cruhteo pandering right after he appeared also doesn't give me the impression he's intended for hetero.
Is there any meaning behind the light cosmos thing behind Slaine and Inaho? New guy doesn't have one. Are those death flags?
Honestly, I see death as the only fitting ending for grandpa and hime. Grandpa built an oppressive system while hime's ignorance and naivety will more likely maintain that system. It's a bit hilarious how hime wants to build a bridge between Mars and Earth when she didn't even bother to look at the problems in her own backyard. How can I take this character seriously as a well-intentioned idealist when she's an epic fail as a political figure in Vers? Maybe she's clueless or she doesn't give two shits since she's comfy. Who knows. She's oldVers who is most likely going to maintain the status quo. The Slaineheads could be more idiotic in their idealism, but at least they are attempting to build something new to shake off Grandpa's rotten work.
No one listens and should listen to hime because she hasn't stepped up. Lemons has shown more potential than hime as potential leader (scheming/cunning bitch).
However, this is aldnoah, so hime is probably going to survive and be a key figure in the new era of peace. Jesus, the succeeding era is just as fucked enough for another aldnoah story.
Saazbaum is father of the year
Weird request -- does anyone have the Vers logo/flag vector that anon made during the fall?
Inaho dies, Hime uses Sleipnir as a basis for an Aldnoah Kat, and kills Slaine while piloting it?
The theme of Aldnoah as a whole is that the royal family have been nothing but borderline-useless figureheads for the entire series. To Earth she's just a tool, to the Knights those actually loyal are a small minority, the rest just appeal to them because divine Aldnoah powers while being largely independent.
Asseylum's entire family is basically the equivalent to the Imperial Family in Japanese Feudal/Chinese Han dynasty; They never accomplished anything noteworthy on their own and for the most part were just a status symbol for the largest prevailing faction to wave around for influence. This is reflected in Slaine being seen as the de-facto leader of Vers and the Knights after marrying Asseylum, despite her technically being the one who controls Aldnoah.
I wish Orga (and the other two, for that matter) stuck around longer, they seemed like bros.
Hopefully them losing doesn't fuck over Slaine's climb to power. I can't imagine there's that many actual knights left to begin with.
The only one that was a leader was Gilzeria, he's someone the Knights respected. Slaine has taken on a role similar to him in that he leads while fighting beside them. These guys don't respect someone who sits on a throne and orders them around while not getting their hands dirty too.
I like how, throughout the entire series, no one seems to care about how many billions of people the Knights slaughtered by blowing up the moon and crash-landing their castles on earth
Slaine sweeps mass-murder under the rug with "human history is warfare" what a crock of shit
Well, it's certainly hard for the audience to care when they haven't shown us any of the suffering of the average person. It's all just the Deucalion. They've barely shown us anything of Vers' suffering either. It's getting on my nerves, what kind of war story is this?
Don't even start on Orga's power, it's easily the biggest frodo in the entire series unless he had some kind of honor policy preventing him from using it in the most overpowered ways.
