To say this is better than Z is an understatement.
It's how Viz released it. Anyway, everyone knows there DB ends and Z begins, even if they know the technical details, so it's a good way of distinguishing the period before that timeskip and after that timeskip, without having to specify "The time period before the time skip after Goku beat Piccolo Junior at the Martial arts tournament and the time after Goku leaves to go get married with ChiChi."
There's no need to bring up the fact that you know it was only Dragonball in the original run of the manga everytime someone mentions Z, unless someone is explicitly saying otherwise.
The 194th chapter of Dragon Ball came out on October 10, 1988.
The 195th chapter of Dragon Ball, which was when it was retitled Dragon Ball Z, was released on October 17th, 1988.
The 153rd and last episode of Dragon Ball aired on April 19, 1989.
The first episode of Dragon Ball Z aired on April 26th, 1989
There were no breaks between the two.
>people sperging out over OP saying "Z"
just take it as "pre and post-timeskip" or something
Toriyama was a great cartoonist before he decided to stop caring about putting effort into his art (he admitted it himself)
Was there really no separation between the two? As an incredibly casual observer, Z seems where they really went from fun adventure series to serious constant power level battles where everyone could fly and destroy planets.
Never read dragon ball though
What made Dragonball stand out so much?
I mean, I loved it as a kid, but it's still popular and I don't know why.
Mind you, I can almost say the same about Evangelion, no clue why it's popular
Is there an actual remake of Dragon Ball in HD Bluray and not some 540p shit? Pic related is what I would like it too look like. I don't really care if it is or isn't cell shading or not but at least 720p.
Why not read it? There's HD versions now and they're beautiful.
Why did Bulma become so unattractive once she grew up? She was hot as fuck when she was younger while she went through that one look where she had a side ponytail. Chi-Chi did the exact opposite and then neither of them look fuckable in Z.
Don't worry I got you covered
I remember reading that part when I was a kid, good times.
I can tell you that there's HD scans up to the android saga last time I read it, if you can't find them you're really retarded.
Can you believe I was searching for the exact same page and you posted it. I'll have to post this one instead.
I don't this Toriyama could beat this guy in the lewd department.
>Turn on TV
>Dragon Ball Z
>It's one of the Goku vs Frieza episode
>Frieza blows up the ground around Goku, Lava errupts and Goku "RUNS" away from the lava, later he hangs from a cliff and calls for help because the lava is hot
>few minutes later he just flies up
>She generally plays the role of comedic relief along with Shu and has a dirty sense of humor. Like the rest of the Pilaf Gang, Mai displays the ability to comedically survive almost anything.
>Mai seems to have a very conservative view of romance and thinks that holding hands is very rebellious and says that pretending to be someone's girlfriend is something that she would draw the line at even as a service to helping Pilaf.
How does the latter fit in with "has a dirty sense of humor"? Man, I really don't remember anything from watching Dragonball.
How did the moon come back between when Master Roshi destroyed it and when Piccolo destroyed it?
Why doesn't Krillin have a nose and why is it addressed as cannon when he fights the smelly guy?
Why does Goku grow his tail spontaneously in OP's pic? And he uses it as a helicopter's blades, like what the fuck?
Did Ox-King really not think about the dangerous flames on, you know, FIRE MOUNTAIN?
well from your second question it's obvious that you've seen DB, so i don't get how you can't answer the first question on your own, it's specifically said how the moon is back.
>How did the moon come back between when Master Roshi destroyed it and when Piccolo destroyed it?
Kami restored it.
>Why doesn't Krillin have a nose and why is it addressed as cannon when he fights the smelly guy?
Because it was simply a joke
>Why does Goku grow his tail spontaneously in OP's pic? And he uses it as a helicopter's blades, like what the fuck?
My memory is a bit fuzzy with this one but I'm pretty sure the moon restored his tail
>Did Ox-King really not think about the dangerous flames on, you know, FIRE MOUNTAIN?
lel you watched the dub its actually called Mt. Fry Pan and the reason why its on fire is Ox King had a wizard put fire around the mountain so that nobody could steal his treasure.
But the fire got out of hand
>My memory is a bit fuzzy with this one but I'm pretty sure the moon restored his tail
Goku kept growing back his tail untl Kami used ki to separate it, since it apparently doesn't come back if you do that.
Though that doesnt explain Vegeta
going a bit off topic here but doesnt anyone else feel like kicking toriyama in the nuts after doing to goku the same shit he did to gohan? The whole "no longer needs to go super saiyan" thing?
I'm kinda surprised ChiChi wasn't as strong as the guys.
I mean Ox King trained under Roshi with Gohan, and he was probably as famous as Gohan too. You'd think he'd put his daughter through some consistent training, or maybe he didn't trust Roshi to train her?
the whole transformation phase and glowing aura was 1/3 of the fun in DBZ .Its like stating they were going to get serious in a fight, now he gets up and punches the guy with no buildup.
Holy shit my heart
So damn cute.
>How does the latter fit in with "has a dirty sense of humor"?
there's a world of difference between making jokes and actually doing things
She made it to the finals of one of the Budokai's so she's pretty strong. She's probably not as strong as Krillin, Yamcha, Tenshinhan etc because she doesn't spend her entire day training.
>It's how Viz released it.
So you guys watched a show which directly references old events and characters all the time and never properly introduces the characters?
