Who is this. Can someone explain that to me?
is supposed to be 10 year old kiss shot?
Yeah, I agree. My guess is we'll end with Kizu and then hopefully get Zaregoto from Shaft.
the next monogatari is probably going to be koyomi, yet nothing's been announced yet.
i'm assuming, since there's 12 short stories in koyomi, they'll make a story for each episode, to make a 12 episode season
"linking story" or something like that. It was announced after zokuowari and people speculate that it's same universe but not about RRRG and co. - maybe the exorcists in college.
Either Kizu, Koyomi, or they'll skip Koyomi for now and go to Owari.
They could be bitches about it and
have his death as a flashback at the beginning of Mayoi Hell.
I sincerely hope they don't because the rest of koyomi is pretty entertaining: you get to see things like bake senjougahara again. It's the adaptation that's hard - most of the short stories aren't interesting enough to take up a whole episode.
>Kizu trailer is going to turn 4 years old this year
I agree. The problem is that they don't advance the story at all
except at the endand it might kill the hype for future seasons.
I'd also like Owari to be a 2cour. It really deserves to be well-adapted.
well, not only that but bake was 2 novels (volume 1 and 2) and it was 15 episodes
nise was also 2 novels and it was 11 episodes
so owari is 3 novels, so i'm sure that can fit 24-26 episodes. and if it falls short they can include zoku
Yep. I remember an old thread about the number of pages per episode in each adaptation. Karen Bee was really slow, at like 46 pages/ep, and kabuki was lightning fast at like 85 pages/ep.
In contrast, bake had a constant rate of about 55 pages/ep and I think that was the right pace. The 3 owari books are about 350 pages each, so 350*3/55=19 episodes. Zoku is 288 pages, so if they take their time it's perfect for a 2cour.
sounds awesome. so i'll keep in mind, we'll probably have a 12 episode cour for koyomi, one episode for each short story, and then a 2cour for owari and zoku owari, and then probably kizu
sound about right?
That sounds ideal to me. I hope they go with it.
I'm still worried about koyomi - it's 448 pages, so if it's a 12 episode season, then it'll drag along at about 37 pages/ep. I don't have a problem with a slower approach personally, but I can't say the same about everyone.
I am sure that unless the BD sales for Monogatari start to drop below 5,000 they will get their act together and adapt the thing. I am sure that everything in that teaser has been scrapped since then sadly, it has been 4 years.
Maybe they are making minor changes to keep up with the current style of Monogatari. From rewatching, the earlier arcs are lower budget and have more dramatic cuts and sound effects. I actually prefer the more subdued style in second season and hana/tsuki.
but if you read kizu, kizu is different than any other part of monogatari, mainly because there is much more action and fighting than talking.
i feel like it would be useless to adapt it to any other previously used style of monogatari, i feel like they'd have to make it it's own kizu-monogatari style
Kind of like what people thought were being done with the Evangelion BDs? I can see that happening. SHAFT has 2 flops(Or at least terrible shows) for every decent one, and I am sure that they are just saving it for the last moment in case they need cash.
That's why I want to see Kizu adapted. Considering the quality of Bake's fight scenes, Kizu would be a pretty sweet ride.
did you SEE the flashbacks to kizu in monogatari, and the kizu trailer? it's going to be AMAZING
i'm just crossing my fingers and hoping it comes to theatres here, since madoka and eva did. i really want to see it with all my close friends and family
If I was a little less lazy, I'd make webms like I made gifs.
Good point. Something completely different (but in a subtle way) would be really good. When I read the novel I got the impression that the fighting still won't take up a majority of the screentime though - the amount of dialogue / internal dialogue is actually still very high.
>I really want to see it with all my close friends and family
Have fun trying to explain to your family why there's a 10 second panty shot right near the start, the shed scene, the GC scene near the end etc.
Man, bring the kids. I'm sure they'll love to see how Kiss-shot recalls information.
me and my sister are really close, and she watches ecchi all the time for some reason
yeah, i know the shed scene will be a bit awkward, but it's worth watching the rest of the movie with them anyways
>me and my sister are really close, and she watches ecchi all the time for some reason
It's up to you, man. If I were you I'd go by myself but I'm not you and I'm not here to influence your opinion.
So go hard, bro. When Kizu comes out, enjoy it to the fullest.
Make sure if there's any free shit, to get as much as you can.
when i went to go see madoka rebellion with all my friends, they didn't hand out any free stuff sadly, because i'm in canada and not los angeles, but there was a qt kyoko cosplayer (pic related)
Honestly, many of the ecchi scenes in Monogatari are all just as funny, or funnier, than they are sexy. Araragi's monologue about her underwear, and the conversation about how he gets a full set at the end, are hilarious.
well, either there wasn't any, sadly, or i missed it completely. it also only aired 2 times here, a week apart, and i went to the second one. when i was in line for consessions there was this fat otaku guy with madoka and homura figures, and he was seeing it for his second time. i have no idea why he brought figures to a movie though. was he going to play with them in his seat?
Fight scenes in Kizu:
>Araragi plays baseball
>Araragi does long jump
>Araragi turns into a vegetable
>Immortals standing still hitting eachother slower than they can regenerate
Kizu has nice dialogue but the fights are complete ass, just like pretty much everything written by Nisio.
He obviously wanted to ruin Madoka's life even more by making her relive the events that fucked her Godhood up.
I'm not sure why you would bring your figures, that just seems like you're asking for them to get broken or damaged.
I would assume Shaft will make it more action packed cause they can since its anime and not a novel.
>Kizu has nice dialogue but the fights are complete ass, just like pretty much everything written by Nisio.
If the dialogues are nice then how can they be ass?
You don't think Episode throwing crosses, Araragi trying to dodge them, and Episode teleporting as mist has potential to be exciting?
With Dramaturgie there are easy ways to spice up the pre-baseball part of the fight. How long do you expect the baseball part to take? I'd say max 2 or 3 minutes.
I agree, Guillotinecutter and Final Boss aren't really fights - they're Nisio-style dialogue fights.
Nisio can't write fights for shit, but he doesn't have to - I think they can be easily made interesting.
They'd better include loli bat digging into her brain and her eyes going all twitchy.
Seeing as they show the dismembered corpse
of guillotinecutterin the bake preview, I think they'll embrace the edgier scenes.
That's what I mean by SHAFT needing to go anime-original with the fight scenes. Nisio fights are way too specific to be good in anime form if they're 100% faithful,
didn't Episode throw the cross only like 3 times total?
Something like Araragi vs Kissshot could easily be amazing if they actually do stuff.
Yeah, I guess I agree. They shouldn't follow his narration exactly. A lot of the fights in Katanagatari were less interesting than they could have been because they were un-choreographed, and had people's arms disappear into slashing frenzies.
So will the next Monogatari series be called Owarimonogatari or Monogatari S3? If they called it Owarimonogatari they'd have to release Zokuowarimonogatari as a separate entity, but if they called it S3 it would feel unfitting considering 90% of s3 is Owarimonogatari.
Will Koyomimonogatari really get fully adapted? They could just throw Koyomi Dead before Mayoi Hell and there'd be no problem. I don't think any of the other stories need to be animated.
They said they're animating everything.
And I'd like to see some neat stuff from koyomimonogatari like the story with kanbarus bathtub or the flowers on the roof of the school.
I don't think you understand the concept of "Wide appeal"
Just because something is unfathomably popular within the community doesn't mean people are going to know what it is outside of it.
Monogatari is popular but within the confines of the anime niche.
Wait really? Then what story did I read? All I can remember is Kanbaru wears some Goth Loli outfit but I thought that was Ko-...
I'm going to feel like a right dick but I get the feeling Koyomi Water is going to be the Kanbaru bathtub story.
They'll animate everything else, and then say that a very special announcement will follow the year after that. But it won't, and we'll wait as the year, then another, and another drift by. And then finally shaft will make their announcement. And the announcement will be about a Kizu
