12 years later and I still don't know what the fuck happened at the end.
Depends on what you consider "boring"
It doesn't have as much action as some brainless shounen crap, but it's pretty good overal.
I want my 52 episode remake with more character interactions and Claus growing into captain v2 but better
Also more MOTHERFUCKING CHAINSAWS
>The one that can't be watched because it doesn't exist
Fixed that for you
I want to fug Lavie.
Please do not sexualize th...
Well, okay, she's pretty damn delicious.
Season 1 has a balance of mystery, political intrigue and death in the skies... while still shifting focus on small characters getting swept into a growing war / agenda..
S2 ma waifu - lingerie her durr money $$$ virgin's shelling out for cheap plot, disregard established characters.
It was pretty garbage in a lot of areas. Fam was a pretty bad character. The sky pirate stuff was a bit of a bad joke. The fights were terrible. The antagonists were retarded. Claus getting crippled out of the story without explanation.
There were plenty of things to hate about Fam.
>as much action as brainless shounen crap
Are you implying a lot of action is something bad shonen have? That would be pretty silly. And I liked LH very much, until the ending which pissed me off.
But that's wrong. Please watch the anime again, or read the background material in Last Exile Chronicle or the Aerial Log.
They weren't on Earth until Fam. Read the Aerial Log Book. The translated shit is floating around and it pretty much covers all of the exposition that they never worked into the show itself.
"Prester" was the space colony where all of S1 happened. The nations of Anatoray and Disith were on opposite sides of the hourglass shaped station. Exile took them from Prester to Earth at the end of S1, and S2 took place there.
The ending was fucking weird.
the bitch got choked
She deserved to get raped.
I'd rather have ̶Q̶u̶i̶s̶t̶i̶s̶ I mean Sophia step on mine.
Anyone remembers the prayer some soldier said right before the shootouts? Bonus points if you can put a link along with it.
>MFW we will never see Delphine with her hair down.
Wait wait wait. Its been a few years since I last saw Last Exile. There was a sequel? Claus got crippled? The whole show took place in a space ship? Lavie doesn't get a good end? This is reaching Big O levels of what the fuck.
1. Yes. Last Exile: Fam of the Silver Wing
This took the coolness of the first series and basically took a big shit on top of it.
2. Yes. We're never told why though. Though it is hinted that it might have been a vanship accident with Dio.
3. She gets a good end. She's with Claus.
Just a reminder that there are basically NO doujins with her in it. If there were any character who lends themselves to h doujins it's her.
i mean she covers multiple fucking genres
I honestly liked LE2 due to its better world building. I didn't dislike the characters and I liked the battles. I don't think it was superior to the first, but I still really enjoyed it and I think people are underrating it.
>that implied incestual abuse w/ shota dio
My dick was not ready.
What world building? Literally everything interesting about the universe came from season 1 or the expanded season 1 materials.
The only cool thing season 2 had was Russia and that was barely anything.
LE2 established nations and territories much better than LE1. It shows how ineffective LE1 was when people ITT are still didn't quite understand how the Exile worked or where everything took place. LE2 took more time to explain things. Exposition isn't necessarily a good thing, but it's still better than having to explain things through external, complementary material. In fact, you can tell that the world building is bad when it needs that stuff. LE2 didn't. And no, it didn't all come from LE1. LE1 established the guilds, why the Exile existed and that the Earth was still inhabited and well. LE2 is where they explained the state of nations on Earth.
And besides that, I'm a complete sucker for when an anime shows a map of a fantasy world and pinpoint where things are and where events take place.
Overall, though, LE1 has 2 beat in a lot of other areas, so I'm not going to deny it's the better show.
Most of those nations were completely generic or uncharacterized though. I'm not going to pretend the countries in S1 were richly detailed masterpieces or anything but at least we spent enough time with them to get an idea of who they were.
Despite it's shortcomings as a series, it's still probably one of the best examples of 'the big question'-styled narrative in recent memory.
Everything, from the plot and story, to the events of the world, to the characters themselves, and even subtle elements of the visual design and aesthetic were all fueled by the big mystery that drove the world. Little hints about the nature of the world, and the world's nature itself, permeated every scene, every moment and every action. The setting drove the narrative, while also acting as a character in it, a character that was present in almost every scene and almost always had something subtle to contribute. It's incredible because despite being rare, it's also something that's incredible hard to do. It went so far beyond traditional worldbuilding.
The racing episode, in particular, was just absolutely incredible. Something that deserves to be thought of an achievement of animation, but is sadly sold short by the general mediocrity of the show as a whole.
