Trigger will debut trailers for Ninja Slayer and Little Witch Academia 2 in April 21. This is it, /a/. Did the LWA 2 Kickstarter paid off? The moment of truth is now.
>I have to wait an entire month just for Ninja Slayer
Jesus Christ, I want it now. And it's not even airing until next year. I'll only have nico streams until then
THIS IS BULLSHIT
Who is that skeleton in the center?
>I fucked up. I meant March 21.
Happiness recovered. Sadness buried in the darkest corners of my mind.
See, trigger doesn't make good anime, but somehow they manage to generate hype from nothing. Just looking at this image gets me excited and wanting to watch whatever shit they make.
I spy Andou and Tomoyo from Inou battle I guess they really did like that piece of shit show.
Original character, has not been in anything, I assume she's a mascott.
Who are these two semen demons and two robots?
You didn't watch Inou Battle?
There really isn't all that much there to make seeing a character into spying them. There's only twenty characters total, most of them from KLK.
>The dangers of love potions.
Imaishi's Animator Expo short debuts tonight.
>Ninja Slayer from Animation
This sustains me.
Are you being facetious?
The girl upside down and the gun robot are Trigger's mascot characters.
Trigger won't be creating any more originals. Ever. The massive backlash from KLK has shown them the fans do not want it, so they will focus their time and energy on Light Novel adaptations.
We will never see artistic freedom from Imaishi, Sushio, Yoshinari, Amemiya, Hori or Ootsuka ever again.
>Only 13k average
>With all that money invested in it
Do you have any idea how sunk Trigger is? Face it, we're not getting any more originals.
They already fired Mai Yoneyama because they simply can't afford to pay her.
>The massive backlash from KLK.
What on earth are you talking about.
>One of the most successful series of the year.
>Not in the black by a huge margin.
Much less popular series advertise just as much, if not more. Besides, VA casts bleed money faster than anything, and KLK had a few A-list names but not a ton.
Are you stupid? KlK fucking beat almost every expectation for a studio's first original series even if it was Imaishi.
Including the popularity in the West, KlK was a massive financial success and now TRIGGER has opened the door to get funding for better originals.
It had no currently "IN" big name VAs; Koshimizu or Hiyama are popular and definitely A-list but they aren't idol VAs so they aren't as expensive as someone like Nana or Hanazawa.
You do realize that people get fired/asked to leave for more than one reason, yes?
I don't even know the whole story, but KLK did fine and nobody was fired for any lack of success attributed to it.
>It had no currently "IN" big name VAs
They had her killed in the Trigger basement to get back all the money they paid her, and eat her flesh for sustenance. Hard times at Trigger since their massive financial failure.
At least now they can survive as an LN adaptation studio. Pity Imaishi is stepping down out of shame next year...
As far as I'm reading around the net TRIGGER has been doing it pretty well lately and KLK is considered a breakthrough hit for the company.
KLK haters making up shit as always.
It'll happen again with NS because its going to be pretty entry-level and the obnoxious crossboarders who like it are going to be cancerous as usual.
Still not going to stop me from having fun, though.
Just stop already.
NS looks pretty fun, in fact Spring in general could possibly be the best season for anime in 5 years or more depending on how some of the new shows do.
Regardless I will enjoy the fun
>Trigger getting money
Wow I thought I heard something stupid. There's a reason why young animators are starving in Japan, and why Trigger begged for some extra dosh during LWA 2 Kickstarter to actually pay their employees properly for once. Most of the dosh made from anime goes straight into the pockets of the distributor. In this case that's Aniplex. Trigger only scrapes past with what Aniplex pays up front. Poor fellas.
I give up, man. I said Trigger fired, killed, and ate Mai Yoneyama, and some people still don't know the the first "no-more-originals" post was sarcasm.
I've been beaten. You win, /a/.
>>zero announcements at the last WonFes
Are you a total idiot?
this guy gets it... trigger make worthless schlock but damn if they don't market it masterfully
under the dog has pulled the same cheap trick by crowdfunding under the guise of "keeping anime alive" which drummed up massive hype for what will surely be trash as well
LIES are TRUTH
SUCCESS is FAILURE
SATISFACTION is DISAPPOINTMENT
Three shows can have a trend, even if isn't very statistically significant. Don't get me wrong, I love everything Trigger's done, but I wouldn't call what they've done good. At this point, with such a new studio, Trigger's become pretty much a default "will watch" for whatever season they're in, like nonsequel, nonfree kyoani.
>The massive backlash from KLK has shown them the fans do not want it,
It had its bunch of critics, but it was a moderate sucess at most, so stop exaggerating. And I say this as someone who ended up disappointed with KLK in various aspects.
>So they will focus their time and energy on Light Novel adaptations.
This is correct. You can't expect budget to magically fall from the sky.
>They already fired Mai Yoneyama
Yes but Inou battle had Cookie and Mirei
Also. WHAT? I never knew I needed this until now.
LWA is gold already based on nothing but character designs. The writing could be as terrible as KlKs and it would still be gold. If we're talking animation quality it's anyone's guess. Ninja Slayers preview thing looked pretty good. Haven't seen anything for LWA2 though.
Well, this is the first time I'm hearing about this.
About Trigger's (possible) involvement, I have no idea, though after reading the brief description of the plot, it can led to speculate there's a chance is going to have a different type of animation besides the usual Pixar 3D.
Maybe? Some Trigger dudes and Pixar dudes have hung out on occasion to have epic sketch-offs
For one, almost all of Trigger staff are westaboos and shown they like Marvel and Disney stuff, among others.
>Pixar outsourcing stuff to Trigger
Source? They might as well just retweeting this because they love Pixar, that's all.
>Guts will get his own anime
>Another Getter Robo-like show
They might as well just make an actual Getter Robo one, then.
Also, if you are expecting a mecha show from them expecting them to give it a TTGL treatment, remember that would imply a considerable amout of budget needed for it.
So maybe it's not the time yet.
When did Gamagori turn into a fighting robot?
>axe cop always the centerpiece
I see Inferno Cop, not the /co/shit in pic related.
You're an idiot.
Power Plant No. 33.
It was really fucking good, even with the somewhat shoddy CG. Most of it was probably thanks to Yoshiura, but still.
Particularly when you compare it with the shitty full CG Evangelion short that followed it, since despite having a fraction of the CG budget it still managed to convey the sense of scale and movement of the giant robot and monster so much better.
Because they made the greatest anime of all time. A true masterpiece, 10/10.
>Nakashima: We also followed what overseas fans were saying and so we had machines and translation staff so we could do immediately translation of what they were writing. We followed a number of sites, including 4chan.
Kill la Kill wasn't masterful but it was consistently enjoyable. So was Inou Battle. I expect I'll enjoy this as well.
>b-but it wasn't sophisticated high art
No, but it doesn't have to be.
and there were generals for months.
it was also recieved rather well all around, with a vocal minority shittalking it in its last few episodes.
all in all, you "massive backlash" did not happen
>13K is bad despite that only a single digit percentage of all anime released yearly break 10K
I didn't expect it to be high art but it being consistently enjoyable is an outright lie several episodes were absolute filler shit. It had animation ranging from decent to eye cancer kill la kill is the opposite of consistent.
The burden of proof is on you to explain why it is high art.
Otherwise, you could just hand me a bar of soap for example and say "what makes you think that isn't high art?" It doesn't work that way around.
Kill la Kill's animation was consistently high quality the whole way through. No major changes had to be made for the BD
Well you deliberately attacked it in your underhanded defense of it. Not reasoned attacks either. Just baseless slander as if you're the authority on good.
No you'd miss valuable characterization. Kill la Kill plays with its message in every episode. It's poetry. You don't skip to the end of a poem because he's describing grass, and you don't skip KLK because it's not moving fast enough for you.
Every fucking thread.
You haters are just so sad. Especially you, figure guy. I've seen you on /toy/ and the buyfag threads countless times bitching and "always laughing" about KlK figures, stop being such a baby.
Shit was fun as hell.
KLK kinda wizzed out halfway through, what kept it consistently entertaining were the voice actors and the HYPE.
They kinda stopped caring about any decent message they could push or lead into, which is what TTGL at least did when it hit this problem.
In KLK though they had a fantastic cast that just fucking exploded in personality, and it kept the show alive.
