I wouldn't care either if it was shit from the beginning, but it actually looked good before.
Is she "ara ara~" christmas cake ?
I'd buy figure of her if she got one.
Meryll is a badmouthed maid that acts as Swallow's weapon caddie.
It would be funny when this happens to her.
Because he had the drill and the machinegun added. He can add those when he wants.
There are also those newer ones.
I think her design is more based in the second Lou outfit.
She looked nicer in the original. The new one looks like an annoying tsundere but maybe it's just the face of character promo pic.
Ibuki art changed a lot when his character developed.
Because Meryll looks a bit like Alice and Swallow's curse is a giant nod to Mahoyo.
He needs all of those swords because he got a curse that breaks everything after one use.
Looks like that even a table RPG campaign with anime models slapped on top of it manages to outclass Devil's Legacy in the credibility department.
It is still there, it is mentioned in his entry. Maybe they will have it manifesting once he actually uses something and not all the time. There is a black spot in the left arm, actually.
Just the concept sees amazing. Some fantasy clusterfuck between some of the biggest and most disparate writers in the industry vying for creative control over a flow-of-consciousness narrative.
>Urobuchi says having big breasts is enough reason to kill a character.
>His character gets turned into a grill with big boobs.
They're dropping tweests before the show even begins. Holy shit.
I wonder if Lou is still going to be a martial artist here.
He is not talking about Swallow, he is talking about Urlica.
>Urobuchi's character was a man.
So they improved it?
Anyway I still don't understand what this whole project is. What game were they all playing and how in the fuck can they turn it into anime? And why THEM?
>A Second Strike is Needless
It was a TRPG session tailored by one of the Lodoss guys for them.
I suppose that everything that is not the "Male" in the character sheet still applies.
I try not to get my hopes up. They are rare nowadays especially good ones, that are a main character.
They never released the rules, they released the character sheets and a world guide.
The gender change itself isn't a problem, but the blatant downgrade to the character design is. It's really the only character where the anime design is just so blatantly inferior to the original.
I wouldn't be surprised. Almost everything he writes focuses on a relationship between a male and female protagonist and the dynamic between them.
I can't even think of something he's done that wasn't driven by that kind of relationship, so it's no surprise he'd want to insert a female character into the party if he was involved with this.
Location designs look good.
If the simplified designs mean better animation, I'm sold.
They are going to call her a slut for having a zombie army.
Dragons are CG. I knew it would be the case.
Yes, it is a sword husbando now. It seems they also changed the design a bit, looking at the OP picture.
No, this is its own universe. It is just that it got some nods as Urobuchi and Nasu were involved playing as two of the five main characters.
Maybe they wanted to get a 3 males and 3 females ratio in the party.
They not changing Meryll means that they think she is perfect?
That's stupid, his character may be edge, but that red cloak was definitely a nice looking cloak and losing it is stupid. Also her design is way too different from the original, not even same hair color
Nasu clearly does.
>Comment from Kinoko Nasu & Shima Drill:
>Nasu: Look at these wonderful maids here......Every single one of them makes me picture being called trash.....
>Shima: It sure is nice being looked at reprovingly with those narrowed eyes...
>Nasu: Which Meryll do you like second-best? It's B for me. (bottom-left)
>Nasu: Indeed, pretty, freckled, and sharp-tongued makes for a nice combination.
>Shima: Not to mention that unassailable skirt!
>Nasu: You know, if Meryll looked at me with that face in the bottom-right, I can confidently say that I'll stick to all my deadlines.
It seems they directly used as a basis his second form, were he had gray hair.
Because these names don't really work in anime
>About the curse of pulverization (truth):
>The curse that destroys any tool in a single use.
>The more intricate, the more elaborate something is, the more easily it breaks.
>Swallow has borne this curse since birth. Although the curse is known to occasionally manifest in those born to the Cratsvalley, Swallow's curse surpassed all previous incidents in its destructiveness.
>In truth, it is the curse not of pulverization but of "consumption."
>The tools do not break but are "used up."
>Because of this, with one use the tool expends all of its capacity to perform. It breaks afterwards not because it could not stand the power, but rather because it had "fulfilled its purpose."
>The Black Dragon calls this "the embodiment of humanity's nature."
>The consumerist society, the enterprise of humans, who depend on mana and yet use up resources and consume the world: the curse was the crystallization of this concept.
>Dragons are eternal, while humans are cyclical.
Would there be any effect on humanity's way of life from Swallow's rejection of this "curse"? Is the matter Swallow's problem alone? Or, being a concept, does it encapsulate the entire species? This puzzle is what the Black Dragon proclaimed "interesting."
>A skill acquired through his Life Path.
>A Dragon Art unique to Swallow, used to save Meryll's life. Dragonizing himself through the power of the Black Dragon, he binds his life to another's. Also manifests his powers as a Dark Dragon Knight in Meryll.
>Though this seems at first glance to be simply sharing the use of one life, in actuality, Swallow's death would not lead to Meryll's.
>A skill acquired through his Life Path. The standard mana attack used by the Dark Dragon Knights.
>An orthodox Dragon Art, but Swallow's curse amplifies this so as to inflict devastating damage. So pretty much a black Excalibur.
This is so Nasu that I love it.
Glad to see more High Fantasy being made after Bahamut.
Sanda said in twitter they wanted to spin some things a bit. It doesn't seem they changed the core story, just some little bits (and they asked the players before).
If this is a plot by Sanda to make Saber clone survive I will be mad.
I think Sanda explains why they had to turn Lou into a girl and other changes in pic related. Something about Chaos dragon being more like Three kingdoms or some shit. Anyone can translate?
Basically that he wants the original and the anime to be like the "Records of the Three Kingdoms" and the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms".
Same story with some changes here and there.
I actually don't mind Lou's genderbent, even if I liked how he was before.
The worse part is that her design is a bit plain, even if with the sword box behind looks better.
Yeah, I would like to see a Shimadoriru rendition of Lou Zhenhua.
He did a quick picture of redesigned Eiha.
If I remember correctly, Lou manages to go through the entire campaign without letting the other players see his blade even when fighting, that is until the last battle. Who knows how they're going to deal with that.
At one point, the part split in a fellowship of the ring fashion, more given that all of them represented a country and these had clashing interests.
Lou basically went rogue and began its own evergrowing zombie army.
>Urobuchi went full edgelord and betrayed the party, then tried to kill one of the others.
Why am I laughing so hard?
Urobutcher creating an edgy motherfucker and then playing them the way he directs his works... I can already picture the squinty eye rolls around the table.
"I rike to Rorr fo Initiative prease."
"Urobuchi-san we resuting in safe purace"
"I rike to Rorr fo Initiative prease!"
He tried to not be so obvious, but nobody trusted him and Nasu even called him homicidal demon from the start. The problem was that even so they avoided metagame, so while Nasu was afraid of Lou, Swallow was happily oblivious.
>since when have you been under the impression that I did not kill you in your sleep?
>You have been doing my bidding all along.
They could've done a complete redesign and I would've stayed happy as long as she was brown.
Guess you got to make them sales huh.
