Will it have a happy, or a sad ending?
Also, Death Parade predictions thread
Reminder that this episode will be filled with suffering.
CV: Asami Seto
A highly skilled competitive ice skater who had a bright future ahead of her.
When her career was cut short by an unexpected injury, her relationships with her good friends and her family suffered as a result.
Is Nona's goal a overhaul of the judgement system?
Wonder what actions Oculus will take in response.
Remember, no happy endings.
Bittersweet. Bets on it ending as Onna says goodbye to Decim from the lift before the door closes.
It'll end with Decim smiling to Onna as the elevator door closes.
But who will be the one riding the elevator?
Bullshit. People would complain about lack of plot.
>an unexpected injury
What if the chavvot tale is literal and her unexpected injury was hearing loss? Fucks up her career cause she can't coordinate with music or something.
Upon enter quindecim she can hear and knows something is afoot.
>it actually makes sense
THE TIME TO PANIC HAS COME
I dunno I've seen worse.
Maybe she gets paralyzed instead, can't communicate, relationships suffer as the only thing she can do is
SMILE. Some kind of injury that is apparent to her is missing in quindecim and causes her to realize she deader than a doornail.
Ginti's special: Everyone's getting the void
>[HorribleSubs] Death Parade - 11 [720p].mkv
>He got voided
>Sacrifice yourself to bring back your loved ones soul
>Get sent to the void
I think Ginti sends everyone to the void regardless of their true character. No way Decim would have made the same decision.
How does such amazing acting, animation, music and what not get stuck with this shitty, shitty story.
Jesus, what a shame. Billards OVA was so good, too.
Death Note? Madhouse confirmed for bros!
She gets reincarnated, she sees her mom happy end yay!!
That's how every single show ends.
Also Chiyuki has a nice ass.
I don't know about the overarching story that much, followed the three episode rule with this show.
But the episodic stories are pretty lame. Amnesia is one of the laziest plot devices there is, and this show uses it every episode. The original OVA used it well - it focused on the shock of it all, and none of the characters really forgot anything besides their death, and the immediate events surrounding it. That's sensible, believable, not very contrived.
But forgetting events months ago because they've vaguely connected? That's just bad writing. There has got to be a better way to create this drama without resorting to "magic amnesia lol".
That, combined with the ridiculously exaggerated expressions, kinda makes the show feel silly and a little bit pretentious.
That said, I love the loli. She does things to my dick.
I laughed at how Light-like he looked, but since both anime are by Madhouse, he might've actually been Light.
Best Chiyuki. That skating scene was amazing.
It was an anime mirai project, that counts as OVA. OVA is a very wide category, not just direct-to-DVD things, but also ONAs and one-shots and such.
Billards had a story, a very simple and powerful one. It knew when to be subtle, to be expressionist. When whatshisface broke down it felt so much more human than when moot did in Parade. There was a slowly rising tension, rather than just a outburst out of nowhere, turning the character into an amputating ape.
FUCK THE POLICE
Well, she was a bitch and was going to sacrifice the other guy soul to get her fukboi back.
That's why shes going to the void.
About him i have no fucking idea why he went with her. He did nothing wrong.
"Hurr you was with my sister, she was shit and you left her. SHE KILLED HERSELF BECAUSE OF YOU, YOU MONSTER"
>Well, she was a bitch and was going to sacrifice the other guy soul to get her fukboi back.
Except the part where she didn't. Fuck her for even considering it right?
Her first thought was to sacrifice herself for him she was pretty fucking selfless.
How do you defend the idol's shit but then condemn Mayu for having a sliver of a thought about pushing a button that she didn't push to begin with.
Nona is fucked. Also, it looks like if they get voided at the same time they stay together forever in the void, or that's what I understood from that scene in the elevator and I think the same is going to happen to Decim and Chiyuki. Ginti did nothing wrong.
That doesn't even make sense
Also what was that whole part about or will that get explained in the next episode?
>He's somehow in the void
>You need to choose who goes to the void
>You both get sent to the void anyways
Was he testing her to see if she would willingly send some person she didn't know into the void instead of the pop singer who was an asshole?
It was plain as day she chose to be selfless in the end.
How is he not? What the fuck did she do wrong?
The poor girl slipped and fell, never did anyone any harm, sacrificed herself constantly for a man who she proclaimed got her through really tough times.
When she finally met him it was like a dream. Ginti fucking tortured her and pretty much forced her hand to push the button and she still didn't do it. Then she got voided. For fucking what? Even as a neutral arbiter the guy is a fucking asshole of the highest caliber. She legitimately did nothing wrong but hover her hand over a bullshit button through coercion and Ginti being an absolute shithead. Fuck him.
I am really confused about this episode
Why hanada soul was away and they to retrieve it?
Why HE HAD to send someone to the void?
Who is other person in the pic and why he even a pic of him?
Why he ask her to decide? He repeated many times that their cause is to pass judgement nothing more nothing less, asking a "lowly" human to do the judgement for you is so dumb
Why he send both to void?
And finally why there people who like that retard?
As someone above said, she was going to sacrifice someone for her own selfish desires. She's not special, she gets the same judgement as everyone else. He did nothing wrong and did his job. Just because you liked her doesn't mean he's an asshole or did anything wrong.
I'm going to cry like a bitch if something happens to Decim. He never lived, so he can never be reincarnated or voided, but worse. His bad end means that he can only be wiped from existence completely.
Dude's a cunt of the highest degree, and a sore loser.
He basically voided best girl because she was a good, selfless person, and that irritated him.
I'm hoping the final episode will have a nice twist.
You guys are mistaken about Ginti. He was pissed off because he didn't want to void Mayu, but, because she wanted to live only for Harada, she didn't leave him with a choice.
He used the button as an excuse to justify his hard decision to void her, but even then, being the good person she is, it didn't work out.
Harada was a womanizer and a generally bad guy. He was getting voided no matter what. Ginti couldn't get Harada reincarnated with Mayu, Mayu insisted on always being with Harada, and so Ginti made the hardest choice: Void them both so they can suffer together.
Ginti...had a hard life ;_;7
Him being an asshole wasn't a mistake and she still resisted all of the temptations he put in front of her.
I didn't like the character near as much as some people in these threads did, but she didn't push the button.
If you put a button in front of someone and said "You could have your deepest desire granted right now, but this random asshole has to die." They'd think about it. She asked what he did. He said it didn't matter and then she decided against it.
She passed that fucking test and he's just a sore loser.
No she chose to get voided with him instead.
Did she push it? No.
He couldn't though cause Ginti had already previously voided Harada for whatever reason. His soul was already in the void. The whole thing about getting his soul back was likely a lie and only used as a means to judge Mayu further.
>Where are we going
>The place where harada soul is
>He is going to wake up, right?
How the fuck can you all be saying that she didn't push the button?
Her attitude was like "Ok, i did it, where is his soul?
Have we been watching the same show?
inb4 "those masks prove nothing!"
>He gets to play chess
>Against an old man who's actually a chess master
It would actually be a cool plot twist if the masks don't mean anything, and that, by going through the arbitration process, you are already in hell, and also that the arbiters are those who have already been judged and voided.
Nah, that would be weak shit, I'm just sipping your peepee.
I honestly think that Harada went to reincarnation? I think he told her Harada went into the void in order to bring up the fact that it's a bad place. Then he would be able to bring up the scenario of getting a random stranger to replace Harada in the void so that Harada could return to her, It was a test of character, I think that was his way of judging her. She probably chose to not involve the stranger by dragging him to the void for Harada and volunteered to join Harada instead, So Ginti decided that she was selfless and almost sent her to be reincarnated. Look at where they were in the elevator when he said they were going to where Harada was. It was reincarnation but because of what Mayu answered to his qn, he switched it to void last minute out of spite. So they both got voided. At least that's how I interpreted it.
>Harada was already voided, the body was just a puppet
>Because he's Ginti and sending someone to reincarnation seems wrong
>To test her
>He only sent 1, Harada was only a puppet. He only woke up because he was already in the void. The puppet, reached the soul, not the other way around.
>Because I do
Is this Decim looking at her memories or is he making her relive them?
Ginti told her that a soul needed to be cast into the void in order to wake up Harada. That's why he tried to get her to send that guy down to the void in order to get Harada's soul back. The next time we see them, Mayu is in an elevator with Harada heading to the void. It's pretty clear she didn't press it.
Are you completely and utterly retarded? And before you start your bullshit, getting a response does not mean you are successfully baiting or trolling. In this case you're just a fucking moron
Harada didn't go to reincarnation. He was already in the void. That's why his soul reappeared in his doll as Mayu was falling down in void. Mayu could have chosen a life without Harada and then she would have been reincarnated but Harada's soul wouldn't have re-entered the doll.
At least for faggots spending their friday evening drinking and watching chinese cartoons
>ending is silent sans the piano melody from the skating scene
>elevator descends into the unknown with Onna and Decim
Well these scenes were pointless, why did they keep her around? Just to pad out a future episode?
>That entire Ice skating scene
>That scene of Mayu getting voided
Bittersweet ending incoming. Don't even try to lie to yourself, we are all gonna be crying bitch tears next week
>sends idiots on the daily
>only friend is a cat
>the sight of Decim sends him to a raging fit cause he is also an idiot
>idiot elevator dude keeps busting his balls
>gets bitched around by Nona
seems like a hard life to me
That ice skating was magical.
Foreshadowed even before the show started.
For fucks sake man, you put the space AFTER the dot.
Haven't you guys noticed the best thing that Mad House could ever make?
Yes, this is fucking Yagami Light.
"There's no heaven neither hell. After death is void."
I still don't understand why Harada was voided? Sure he almost kicked her down but he redeemed himself didn't he? Any true evil person wouldn't have cared about whatever happened to Mayu after she falls but he wasn't like that nor was he faking the entire scene. It was all genuine. And I also don't understand why they had that Cross Heart Attack performance at the end of their judgement ep? That made me think that all was good but apparently, no. Ginti voided Harada for some reason I can't understand. Ginti a shit.
She's gonna take his place.
It's the same as the couple in the first episode, the good person got voided and the bad one got reincarnated, with no ceremony or explanation. I think that might be why they're trying to fix the system, because it's broken. Life can be unfair, but death being unfair as well is just cosmic levels of cruelty.
LINE FUCKING CROSSED
I don't think that was the point. The point was that Mayu was proud of her life even if she dedicated it to a faggot, and was just happy being that way no matter how other people may have tried to tell her otherwise
People trying to hard to find an explanation for arbiter's choices, but it's been pretty clear since episode 2 that arbiters are just dudes without any "higher understanding". It's like a bunch of autists and kids playing judges in super complex situations.
What kind of ending do you predict?
A. Decim is reincarnated as a human, while Onna become an arbiter in Quindecim.
B. Decim and Onna are reincarnated together.
C. Decim and Onna are dropped into void.
D. Onna uses power of love to defeat Oculus and become god in his place.
She lies to spare her husband's feelings, who has been baselessly jealous, and she gets the void while he gets another go. I think they purposely started the show with this one to show us the system is imperfect. Because of this one and other, Decim has started to question his own judgements. Ginti is realizing he's a shit as well, even if he's a little late to the party.
I might sound pretty retarded now but why the fuck did Onna suicide again?
She had friends,family,boyfriend.
She says that the fact that she couldn't skate anymore didn't bother her a lot, but the fact that she started to consider everyone to be her stranger, even her family? That no one actually understood her pain?
And what makes you think that?
She was considering it, yes. But no one said is doing it.
And yet, she was acting like "Ok, i did it, now you make your part of the deal, where is his soul?"
I have made a short list of people who should be voided for being idiots. Please, help in reporting them.
Mine and other's prediction was right.
Ginti's decision to void them together is actually very smart. If Mayu had been reincarnated without Harada, her new life would have been meaningless to her. However, his plot of sending Mayu to the void with Harada's body is a very merciful one. The void only leaves you with your feelings, but if you're feeling love, you'd be happy instead. She's stuck in the void now with Harada forever, but with good feelings instead.
>If Mayu had been reincarnated without Harada, her new life would have been meaningless to her
You don't remember shit when you're reincarnated.
She would probably have found someone new to obcess over since she has the soul of a fangirl.
>but with good feelings instead.
Did you not watch the episode or are you just retarded?
Ginti explained the void, it's only filled with negative feelings.
He's Decim's foil. Two sides of human emotions.
Decim tries to be understanding and sees hope in humans.
Ginti is stubborn and set in his ways.
The thing with this anime is that people are arguing over Decim and Ginti voiding people but don't realize why the show keeps showing Ginti.
You're supposed to get upset with Ginti because he's been implanted with human emotions as well. It's not padding. It's just showing you two sides of a coin. The anime doesn't want you to pick a side, but it's showing you every facet of an issue.
Ginti didn't void Mayu out of anything more than spite. It was an emotion fueled emotion. Ginti never pulled the 'darkness' out of Mayu; she pulled the darkness out of him and we (as the viewer) get to see that in his final decision.
Madhouse was very deliberate with how they portrayed both Ginti and Decim. They're supposed to be polar opposites because while everyone's rooting for Decim because he's special and has human emotions, so does Ginti, and people are upset with his decisions.
He was probably only saying it to further try to judge her.
Everything he said and did was a lie this episode only in order to judge her. The show is still rather straightforward. The tablet was a shout out to Light because it's Madhouse. Harada was already voided it was just a puppet they explained this stuff like 4 episodes ago.
He told the girl about how terrible it was I imagine just before putting the button in front of her because she thought it would save him from the void.
Ginti was bullshitting this entire time just to draw the 'darkness' out of her. he was going to void her if she pushed the button, but he got upset and voided her anyway.
Emotion fueled decision* I mean
It's very weird they did it like this. The Japanese, more so than the west, would be acutely aware that in Buddhism, being reincarnated is the bad end. Not being reincarnated would be "haven" since that happens once you reach enlightenment.
The void is full of the emotions you bring there. People are stuck there with their own shit. It's not a place that produces its own negativity. That's why it makes sense for her to be happy there.
If reincarnation was a total reset, then judgements would be pointless at all. You could just take one of the killers of the previous arc, reset them, and reincarnate them. In order for judgements to mean anything the nature of the souls would have to persist in new incarnations.
Was doing what arbiters do, trying to bring out and darkness. We didn't see it but either she pressed the button and he voided her or it she didn't press it and he sent her because she wanted to be with him.
>then judgements would be pointless
Are you serious? Judgements are to determine who deserves to be reincarnated. That's the point of having them play the game.
Do you just ignore the show and make up bullshit to your liking?
So that's where he went.
My point about the judgement being pointless is about what happens after being reincarnated. The other anons were saying that Mayu wouldn't suffer in her new life after reincarnation because she would forget about Harada. I said that her feelings for her would persist, and it would create a sort of living hell for her since she admits she only lives for him. It would be worse for her to reincarnate than to go to the void at this point. I am debating that the judgements are necessary because of this. That the souls do have a memory of sorts that maintains their nature. You need to judge killers and fangirls. If they didn't remember anything, that's how it would be pointless.
>I said that her feelings for her would persist, and it would create a sort of living hell for her since she admits she only lives for him
So what was her life before her last one? Any regrets? Lost loves? Reincarnation is full reset, she will again start with clean slate as she did before Harada who's her current life connection, get over it
Just because souls maintain their nature through reincarnation doesn't mean the person will retain specific memories of their previous lives.
For example if Mayu has the soul of a fangirl she'll be a fangirl in her next life as well. But she wouldn't remember Harada or that she was a fan of him in a previous life.
Is he bringing her back to the real world next ep?
What is happening?
A psychiatrist once told me that apathy is a symptom of depression and other mental diseases like schizophrenia.
Basically you feel like everything in the universe is related to you and you can't feel emotions for other people.
Lets say... you are wasting your life because of depression and some loved one cries and begs you to stop and you can't feel a thing about that person or what she wants.
The arbiter can only send Light's soul to the shinigami realm by pushing the button
Asides from Death Note/Death Parade being by the same studio both Harada and Light are voiced by Mamoru so kinda funny seeing Mayu have to decide the fate between two Mamoru-voiced characters. Neat reference.
> Apathy can be defined as an absence or suppression of emotion, feeling, concern or passion.
>For example, people who are depressed and have major depressive disorder or dysthymic disorder often feel numb to events occurring around them, and do not derive pleasure from experiences that they once found enjoyable.
Dat skating though.
YFW you realize Madhouse set this up years ago. The ED of Deathnote part 2 is Light in a elevator. Light confirmed for being in Death Parade. C'mon, it even has Death in it. Coincidence? I don't think so.
I don't know if she's got a chance or not, considering how scared she is of him, I, but I want Nona to at least try to kick occulus' ass next week.
On another note, Maximum The Hormone are fucking good.
>instead of Maximum the Hormone Madhouse are using Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Actually, Heaven and Hell don't exist in Death Note universe either, that rule was just to throw note users off. Death is equal to everyone. Anime may have skipped that part though.
NONA A Bitch giving Ginti all the shit emotion . she is the one to blame.
Also Ginti shows a lot of emotion.
But what about Quim or whatever was the name of the person who was before Decim? I wonder if it'll be explained how she got emotions and managed to quit being an arbiter.
