Anime, July, madhouse.
>enjoyed the manga so far
Well, I guess if you're enjoying one of the shittiest manga adaptions of a novel that I have ever seen, it won't take too much for the anime to impress you
From Anime Japan thread:
Original: Maruyama Kugane ("overload" / KADOKAWA Enterbrain published)
Original Character Design: so-bin
Director: Naoyuki Itō
Series configuration and Screenplay: Yukie Sugawara
Character design and chief animation director: Yoshimatsu Takahiro
Animation Production: Madhouse
Production: overlord Production Committee
Satoshi Hino as Momonga
Emiri Katō as Aura Bella Fiore
Kenta Miyake as Cocytus
Manami Numakura as Narberal Gamma
Masayuki Katou as Demiurge
Shigeru Chiba as Sebas Tian
Sumire Uesaka as Shalltear Bloodfallen
Yumi Hara as Albedo
Yumi Uchiyama as Mare Bello Fiore
I don't even understand how this didn't fall under their radar. AFAIK, Overlord doesn't even rank in LN charts. Why this? Regardless, I'm keeping my expectations low so I'm not TOO disappointed
Well script writer being minor staff in sao/sao2/mahouka, now major staff here.
Chief animation direction guy being responsible for HxH 2011 same role and work on the HxH movies and wayy back to Slayers era.
I guess I'll just keep my expectations to minimum and hope the director at least reads the source material unlike what happened with the three-way clusterfuck at Onii-sama.
>yet another MMO adaptation with weak source material
For what purpose.
Madhouse can't do LN adaptions well.
Only No Game No Life worked because the author, himself, became part of the staff and postponed the novels and actually worked inside the studio.
And this. WIll be amusing,
And Horse Pussy/Titta, so I think she can pull of both of Shalltears humanoid and monster styles off.
If the anime will even cover vol 3.
I'd just put all-in on the chief animation director, the VA's that have been part of the novel audio dramas and animators itself at Madhouse and hope the adaptation at least surpasses the manga atrocity.
No idea what you're on about, it's pretty spot on except for the eyes.
Fuck me, I guess it was her hair color then?
I don't really know, maybe I just realized that she looks like Featherine.
Isn't madhouse getting too much adaptations?
Usually it should be a "good" thing but if they have to produce too much shows probably the overall performance will drop
"Personally speaking, I like Gifting. But going by the page views and donations, it is not popular with others. Maybe the manga version would do better. Majority wins, will put this on hiatus."
I guess you missed todays post about it.
>Another story setting of MC being trapped in MMORPG world
what are you talking about ? who doesn't like The Gluttony and the gang
They barely have characterizations in the WN.
The premise is interesting, but the writing is tedious and boring. It would be a way better novel if it dropped the journal format.
The slime reincarnation webnovel has a similar premise, and because it's not in a journal format it's a much more enjoyable read. You can feel the tension in the story and the characters are more lively.
That said, I do follow the Re:Monster webnovel. I'm hyped for the upcoming holy war/crusade. The poor countries don't know what they're facing against.
