Is Hidamari even good? Most SOL 4koma shows are boring as fuck.
First season was mostly mundane, sometimes artsy talking and Shaft things going on in the background. Which was cool for some episodes, but overall
Everything after that gets much better, after it finds a groove. Great comedy and relaxation wise. There was some pretty good heartfelt moments too.
It really depends on the episode. First episodes of S1 are boring as fuck, but it gets really good after 4 or 5 episodes. S2 alternates between 10/10 and 6/10 episodes, S3 is good in its entirety.
I'm not surprised, I didn't like the first season either, but it's far better from the second season.
Actually it's my favorite SOL.
I wonder why so many people like S3.
I found it really dull since the new blond girl is quite dull.
The geek is pretty cool.
S2 was by far my favorite season. It was really good.
You won't like it. Stick to your video gaymes and shounenshit.
I usually like SoL no matter how slow they are, but I could barely even finish the first season of Hidamari. It was just so boring, everything felt cliché, there were no characters I found interesting/likable and the artstyle was ugly. This is just my opinion though, I know a lot of people love it.
Hidamari Sketch is a gateway anime of the moest kind. It's a cute series, an open canvas of story and characterization that isn't very fast paced by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its slowness by adding in excessive Brutus faggotry and WIDENESS. The normal anon can see this as the miracle it is, and may enjoy it, drink to it or feel relaxed watching it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain shaft.
However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shinbo of its core make it a breeding ground for lewd, perverted underageb& Noris who engage in every kind of lewdness both online and in the real world. The superdeformed characters all trying their hardest to look wide, the stacks, peculiar, colorful Yoshinoya cosplays, the whole living alone and everything about the Hidamari apartments fuels their escapist fantasies, while the lily-party character backgrounds, emphasis on Ume-sensei, and overall happiness of the series make it fit just right with the alcoholic drives of your average anon and his sense of unadulterated love towards his waifu. Exactly the kind of school that makes little kiddies and underageb& students pass the entrance exams right the fuck up.
Hidamari is basically THE series to attract the nicest anime fanbase known to /a/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to watch the fuck out of this show and everyone who is in it, and ensure that new Hidamari threads encourage the widefriends to show their faces here.
Nazuna admittedly isn't very interesting on her own, but the way she kinda inhabits the same role as Yuno does/did (scared, insecure, helpless) leads to some great development in Yuno, and is one of the big reasons I find the later seasons better.
I want Yuno to pee in my mouth.
Nazuna's insecurity is much more worse compared to Yuno's though. I guess that helps Yuno to act as a, well, senpai to her, but I'm not really sure if Yuno ever was as helpless as Nazuna was/is.
Nazuna is a literally worthless human being. She's a walking argument against conventional notions of femininity. The fact that the japs like her is simply depraved.
Last time I checked, Yuno didn't have a penis.
Yeah not saying they are on the same level, but Yuno definitely sees some of herself in Nazuna and that makes the whole senpai rolemodel thing she does that much more interesting.
It's the best 4koma adaptation in my opinion.
Most other good SoL anime seem to be from full manga.
Now that Hiro and Sae have graduated and Miyako is irresponsible 99% of the time Yuno must become the new Hiro.
Widethreads are dead because the series is done. After awhile, everything gets discussed. You even get the same shitposts in every thread now because there isn't else to shitpost about.
Always need to keep your mind wide open.
Not nearly enough enough material for a new season yet (the next schoolyear since Sae and Hiro's graduation has barely started). I see no reason to believe they won't adapt the rest once there is enough content to go with.
It's possible that they'll animate a full season that ends with Yuno graduating, but I don't expect anything before that. They already skipped a whole volume so it's not about having enough material or not.
Personally I think we'll only get a short Yuno & Miyako Graduation OVA.
There might be if the don't bother with chronological order and use some stuff they missed from the other seasons. But still, Ume needs to get off her lazy ass and do some work.
I feel like she's been more productive lately, and it was pretty obvious we wouldn't get a new chapter in January when she had to do extra work for the volume. I hope we'll get another chapter this month.
It is the undeniable proof of the existence of a benevolent allmighty god.
The first two seasons of Hidamari are some of the best 4koma adaptations ever made and are quintessential school-life SoLs.
Their slow and meticulous pacing, non-chronological storytelling that emphasizes the day-to-day feeling, and experimental actually-Shinbo direction make them even better than the manga they're based on.
The later seasons are good too, but they're more similar to other conventional school comedy SoLs and much more closely adapt the manga because of different staff.
>Benevolent almighty God
>Giving us Nazuna and allowing her to exist
These are pretty much in contradiction to each other
Man, this is one of the best websites I've ever seen. These days everyone just downloads a Bootstrap template. This site even manages to use those JS animation things tastefully. I'm very very impressed.
She's not the best but she's good in her way.
The fact that she exists and we don't get to see her bullied and beaten up is disgusting.
Can't get bullied if I never leave the house and pretty much no one knows I exist.
Hidamari is God-tier SoL
S2 >> S3 > S4 >>>>> S1.
I recommend starting with a few episodes of S2 if you're not sure you want to watch the whole thing.
Also, don't skip any of the specials or the OVA
