>OPM is going to be the new Attack on Titan for normies
>tfw everything you love is ruined because of facebook and tumblr
why even live?
To be entirely honest I saw tumblr give more a shit about OPM than… a lot of places. Pretty much nobody I know offline is familiar with it, and on a fair deal of forums I frequent it's either just myself or me plus a handful of others who know about it.
This isn't to say it's not going to get worse (especially not with that PV), but tumblr has known about OPM for a long while. And, if it's any consolation, they probably aren't going to be a major source of rabid fans anyways since Pri-Pri and Slicing Shemale are /painful/.
Madhouse are kind of uneven these days, but they usually do a better job with Manga adaptions compared to LN adaptions.
You're not fooling anyone.
Ignore it, that guy is still going on about their B-teams or occasional inconsistent work even though they are still one of the best alternatives and this is probably getting their A staff
AoT anime was objectively worse compared to the manga and it panders to normies alot.
OPM is more lighthearted and comedic compared to edgy AoT.
I foresee there would be no retarded fanbase and no animeonlyfags for OPM.
If you guys actually want to know what's gonna be the new SNK, it's Seraph of the End.
It's pretty much edgy SNK 2.0
Stop being such an over dramatic idiot. If something like popularity can ruin your enjoyment of things then you should just stop trying to enjoy yourself.
Or better yet.
Grow the fuck up and stop whining.
>tfw no decent OPM threads in a while
>even before the anime threads were mostly 500 posts about dem titties and 10 posts actual discussion
Maybe when One finally decides to update, as his art scares off the riffraff.
Feel free to misinterpret this as being elitist.
>This series is going to have 2 layers of hipsters
>Stupid anime only fags, the manga is way better *tips fedora*
>Stupid Murata only fags, it's only good because of ONE *tips double fedora*
I don't get why people are saying it's "going to become" that kind of series when it already pretty much is like that. Do you seriously think OPM is some kind of hipster manga only /a/ knows about? Because it's not, it's even quite popular over /co/ for obvious reasons.
Yeah but they're just generalized hipsters who make themselves feel superior to anyone who enjoys anime or manga in general.
They aren't being hipsters about OPM specifically, they're genre hipsters who already exist.
>shitty cell ripoff
>author has the work ethic of an earthworm
>something you like is ruined by people who talk about it by normies
Why not ignore them?
>by people who talk about it by normies
What the fuck did you just write
Thats not the point, the point is that you are not going to be able to discuss it on /a/.
The threads are going to filled with retards from reddit and tumblr and you wont be able to even use reaction images of the show because autists will have panic atacks by association.
For reference, jojo used to be one of the best fanbases on /a/.
Even SNK wasnt that bad before the anime came
Thats like telling someone who is fan of some kind of sport to just keep rewatching the same games where their team won instead of watching the new games.
we already can't discuss it on /a/ because people keep shitposting about how normies will ruin thread and then proceed to devote 6-7 threads at a time on this.
no anon, you are the cancer.
Between the normies, madhouse shitting all over the source and butthurt mangafags the threads are going to be a full-blown circus. Truly the new Akame ga kill but more dumb and not as edgy.
I thought Terra Formers anime adaptation was going to be "The next SnK" for the western anime fandom
you can see how wrong I was
I post saitama on every power level thread i see just because powerleve autists get upset
thats cause some of the worst censoring in history happened anon.
if it wasn't for that, odds are it would have; now instead most people laugh at the 4kids tier series and just go back to watching Johj go full pimp.
People who gives more shit about what their peers think about a show, than they do about the show themselves, is exactly why /a/ is shit board full of degenerates.
People like the OP and those in the thread agreeing with him are the reason why you people are living talking pieces of shits.
No, even if the fanbase became SAO-tier cancer, i'd still be reading OPM because its an extremely fun manga.
meta doesnt affect my enjoyment of a series because im not an autistic shitposter but i'd still like the be able to discuss it.
I don't give a fuck what normies think or do, my problem with SNK was the awful art on the first chapters, and the not so good art on the later chapters
I'm not that exigent, but the art in the first 2 chapters just made me drop it, nobody can draw that bad without being on propose
Not just /a/, it's a symptom of 4chan in general. The nature of the website is inherently underground (at least relative to other social platforms), so maintaining that feint of cultured intellect by subsisting opinions opposing that of the mass is ingrained in the paradigm of it's users.
Take a look at /v/, or /mu/. It's everywhere.
>I was surprised that Akame ga Kill was even popular.
The fanbase had better times.
/a/ is pretty normie though. See how most discussed shows are something like A/Z, while the true hipster shows like Fafner which then again is super popular over Japan get ignored.
Thats because this board is slowly turning into /v/.
well not so slowly anymore but still.
I would say it's a symptom of internet in general, but youtube comments and 4chan are by far the WORST.
It's funny how so many people make smug remarks about reddits and tumblr, and yes they are fucking terrible, but 4chan is even far worse.
The threads have long since gone to shit anyway. It's all just the same old "Is Boros stronger than Garou" and wild specualtions mixed in with drawfags forcing their shit. The worst normies can do is bring in their own kind of shit to mix with the current shit and make it yet shittier.
>and now reddit is a fine place to talk without cancer
this is what /v/ actually believes
Go down far enough and you can just say it's a symptom of the human condition. Any bumfuck idiot will always want to be seen as his neighbor's better. But yes, the internet does give greater leeway, and 4chan multiplies that by magnitudes.
>No no, that's different. This show is GOOD
I come here to keep up to date on things, the rare occasion something cool is brought up and the faggotry dies down, and to keep tabs on /pol/ so I know when they're really going to snap and take to the streets armed.
Like /v/. I've been to /r/gaming out of curiosity, the opinions they share there is next to 1:1 to /v/. Rabid corporate hate, Nintendo defense fever, I will never buy a Ubisoft game etc.
I just don't want threads to be shitty, bottom line. Look at SnK and JoJo threads and honestly tell me they're redeemable. Sure most threads on /a/ are shit, but what few good discussions that could be had are fucked up by retards.
Maybe like, 4 years ago. It's just a thing to say now. I remember when people where throwing shitfits over shortening to mfw, but truth is, once enough time passes, nobody cares.
The ONLY reason why "some" threads are not retarded is because the subject matter for those threads don't attract the majority, or it's late at night.
They are exception to the pattern, and not something you can even hope to expect for the board.
This place is a stinking pile of shit, and nothing is going to change that. Just like youtube.
Then there don't need to be goddamn threads. Make threads when something happens. I don't know what's so hard to understand about that. If there's nothing to discuss, then why make a thread for it? Does having a constant OPM thread get your dick hard or something?
too bad its no use complaining about it
>I love berserk!
>Me too, Lost children is my favorite manga arc
>Lol what there is a manga adaptation?
Griffith is so bishie, squee!
You clearly dont understad.
People are complaining that they are not going to be able to discuss the manga anymore, not that they are not going to be able to read the manga.
Being a doomsayer honestly solves nothing. Good threads happen occasionally, so it's possible for there to be good threads. Thus the good threads have to be encouraged and the bad threads discouraged. Even if we can't increase the quantity of good threads, we can increase the concentration of them. What's the point in saying everything is shit and giving up?
>the point is that you are not going to be able to discuss it on /a/
Let's be serious here. Why the hell would you wanna discuss anything on /a/? Most if not all "discussion" chalks up to
>Wow, this episode was great
>Hell yeah. It was awesome, the characters were so good
>Indeed, everyone was well designed
>Wow, this show is the shittest of the shitfest
>Such bad writing, who eats this crap?
>I am dropping this show, because it sucks and does not do things right.
>Did you see how the plot was about X and Y? That's so bad.
Rinse and repeat for the daily threads.
I mean yeah it's like this everywhere on 4chan but I'm just sayain.
>tfw everything you love is ruined because of facebook and tumblr
Literally the opinion of a 12 year old desperate for his own super special snowflake clique to fit into.
>t-thing is bad now cause people i don't like, like it
I don't care, I just want to see this scene. My dick would be so hard.
>I don't care if the fanbase becomes shit!
You're on an anime discussion board, of course you're suppose to care, you faggot.
It becomes a circlejerking fanbase, fans making threads just because they don't see a thread around to establish their territory, constantly bumping them with image dumps, they get senile and repetitively discuss the exact same topic every single day, and start typing like they just walked in from /v/mal/reddit/ etc.
...Which is pretty much what the fanbase has been this whole time. The most they would get from this are some extra fujoshis.
How rude. Un-Go does have a fanbase.
There's probably like only ten of us, but still.
My nigga. Un-Go's ED is so fantastic
hue, I wish LAMA would do more OP/EDs
>yfw the eps where shit went down and the ED faded in early
I remember when I wanted to learn piano just to play the song.
never did cause I'm a lazy fuck
The problem is that nobody ever puts any actual effort into their posts, probably because people are more likely to respond to inflammatoryimage.jpg.
The subject of "Is the show good or not?" is fine. But when the posts are just using vague words like "bad writing" or "it's fun" or "this is a healing anime", that's when things really go down the shit sundae disposal factory.
OPM threads are already shit, face it.
>Constant attentionwhoring drawfags
>The same few discussions over and over
>Arguing about Murata VS. ONE
I don't know whose fault it is or if it even is anyone's, but they're already shit.
4chan will harvest every soul who visited here and bring us to peace. Leaving only the impure ones to rot.
Or the complete opposite.
It's not going to happen, bring more attention to OPM and OPM will become more popular.
Shut the fuck up, LNs are fucking disgusting, they are literally only made to replace every last bit of social interaction an autist like you could have.
LNs will never touch manga.
OPM will be very popular because reddit and friends love madhouse, but it won't be even close to titans or FZ. It's simply too goofy and not MATURE, DARK and BRUTAL enough for euphoric "intellectuals".
>Thus the good threads have to be encouraged and the bad threads discouraged. Even if we can't increase the quantity of good threads, we can increase the concentration of them.
And how do you plan to do that? You're naive, this site and board are what they are. Nothing is going to change that.
Why did you have to remind me that exist.
are you guys completely mentally handicapped? what do these two shows even have in common apart from your HURR DURR LIKED BY MAL BOOGEYMAN
No, /sci/ is the worst about it. It's a bunch of pseudo intellectuals who think they're smart just because they have science in their board title. All the threads read like bullshit a middle-schooler might ask his science teacher to sound smart and the people responding are always going off bullshit popscience they read on the internet without bothering with the boring parts of why things actually work.
Elitism seems to be synonyms with anime in general. I don't know why.
The mods constantly pander to the userbase here tho. They've just given up on places like /tv/.
