Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru Zoku PV
>decent written literature, just the content is dumbed down for otaku audience
This makes no sense.
It's like pouring shit all over a good meal so pigs will like it. It stops being good at that point.
Off to a good start.
The LN is decent, and honestly, it had no competition, of course it would win awards, the other most popular LNs are so badly written that it hurts, just read mahouka or To aru majutsu. And others who are more serious aren't considered because they aren't pandering to fat neckbeards who are nationalistic.
To aru has gotten a lot better over the time though, in a writing sense. You can't even compare it to Mahouka, that one is like 13 years old kid was writing it, even To aru 10 years ago was better written.
This post gave me cancer.
>so practly all suck or what?
>i dont read Ln sry
Practice your grammar my man.
And you just mentioned the ones I said that were up there because of the pandering to fat neckbeards. Most of the LNs that are acceptable aren't popular, except for Yahari.
LNs which do not have anime/manga character design and do not pander towards otaku culture, but towards people who have never seen anime or read a manga, like a normal book.
Even more simply put, I just want to know if Light Novel is another exclusive branch of otaku culture like Visual Novels, Anime or Manga.
What are you guys reading apart from yahari?
I'm following Maria, Altina and tokyo ravens.
>LNs which do not have anime/manga character design
That stopped being a LN, the art of LNs are all similar, it's the way of japanese drawings, it's like asking marvel comics or american books to have that "american comic book" style, kind of an unfair judgement.
>but towards people who have never seen anime or read a manga, like a normal book
Most of them are like that, LNs are a different market, you don't need to watch anime or read manga to understand them.
> I just want to know if Light Novel is another exclusive branch of otaku culture like Visual Novels, Anime or Manga
Some of them are, some aren't, I would say that there is a higher variety of Light Novels than the others.
For example, I read this the other day:
And it doesn't has a single anime or manga reference, nothing, it's a simple story about a mysterious illness and two youngsters travelling around japan trying to explore it together before getting affected by it.
I would say that anime is mostly otaku. Visual novels too, since most of them have as a purpose ending with a girl.
Few VN focus on other subjects. I would say that stuff like Higurashi would be more for normalfags.
Which one is that?
>Yahari is the first big show to air
>all of animeonlyfags, shitposters and /r9k/ will rush to threads once subs are up
I fucking hate how every thread about a LN has to devolve to this shit. Of course LNs will cater to their audience. That's the point. If you want something that doesn't do that, then just read the plethora of other books available.
Reminds me of altina, but with a more hyped up MC. What I liked of altina is that the MC isn't a genius at all.
Check Altina, Tabi ni Deyou, Remembrance for a certain pilot, Zero no Maria, Sayonar Piano Sonata and Sugar Dark.
"And what fastens attention [...] like any passage betraying affection between two parties? [...] We see them exchange a glance or betray a deep emotion, and we are no longer strangers. We understand them and take the warmest interest in the development of the romance. All mankind loves a lover." —Ralph Waldo Emerson
Sadly romance is the easiest method of getting the audience to be invested in a work. I love Yahari mainly because the romance takes a backseat to the character development; but it'd be say lie to say I wasn't following it because of shipping bait. (Obligatory Iroha=Best girl btw).
8Man has always been kind of handsome looking. Characters have always described him as having a good face, but his rotten eyes ruin it.
The LN Illustrations always took a more rounded approach to the eyes.
The series became real hot shit after S1, it's almost certain they have a much bigger budget and much higher expectations so it should be fine.
