>>122959235 >>122959303 >>122959478 >Agile like a snake, her hand rolled around Kiritsugu's neck, seizing the back of his head, blocking his movements, and his mouth― she took his soft, dried lips. >The taste and touch of a different woman from the one in his heart. Breaking off the man's homesickness, but that was too quick to be forgiven. >"... Please only focus of what's necessary for now. Don't think of what you don't need." >In a blurred voice that had traces of her usage of her tongue left, Maiya quietly commanded Kiritsugu. "..." >Without a word, Kiritsugu felt the sensation in his chest calm down. In his heart cooling off, the pain is already vanishing away in a mist. >This is the woman she is. She is the woman into whom Kiritsugu himself has raised a girl once found on a battlefield. >A supporting machine whose actions are even more akin to a machine than those of the machine called Emiya Kiritsugu. This is Hisau Maiya. An indispensable final weapon for Kiritsugu to win this battle... That is none other than that woman.
>>122959547 >Emiya Kiritsugu's assistant. Also his lover, in a certain sense of the word. >Due to growing up utterly deprived of humanity, Maiya lacks a strong sense of self, and has given her entire being to Emiya Kiritsugu. Asking her if she loves him would be the same as asking the internal organs if they love the brain – completely meaningless. >And, regardless of what others might say, for Kiritsugu sacrificing his wife to complete the Holy Grail was a betrayal of their love. However, it was a betrayal which he absolutely must not hesitate to perform. His sexual relationship with Maiya, then, was simply a rehearsal for this betrayal – a form of masochism to calm his nerves. This is already pretty much the worst reason for having an affair, but the fact that Maiya valued it makes it an endless vicious cycle. Shirou, whatever you do, never ask your old man for advice on women…
>>122956825 He did love her but he's so far off the deep end into his path of the asura by the time he meets her that it makes him look more distant.
Then ofc you get to the end and he ends up being crushed slowly into a lifeless husk by his own deluded dreams and ambitions. Loses his waifu, his assistant and his daughteru.... Leaving him with a red headed, braindamaged kid.
Ofc then he fails to get the kid help dispite noticing that his behaviour seems off....... which leads to archer and his angsty 'i traveled to the past just so i can kill myself' shit and Shirou masterbating over the sword Sabers gonna sheath in his ass.
If possible, Kiritsugu wanted to cooperate with Maiya to ensure the accuracy of the attack with a crossfire. Unfortunately, only Kiritsugu himself can fire at the moment. But it would not be a problem as it was a distance of barely three hundred meters. Kiritsugu’s skills would have taken his target’s life with just one bullet. As long as he remains unaware of the presence of the sniper, no magus can defend himself from a .300 Winchester Magnum round.
>Fate/Zero:Act 5 Part 2, -149:47:12
Kiritsugu dialed an empty number. But there was no response whatsoever from his cellphone. The modified communication loops were connecting not to an analog signal, but to the trigger of a C4 bomb. The bomb only caused a very small explosion, to the point where the sound of the explosion cannot even be heard outside the hotel. But what resounded in the night was the horrifying sound of reinforced concrete splintering and collapsing. The evacuees who had noticed something was wrong saw the sudden change in the towering building and began to shout in panic. "The hotel, the hotel is collapsing!"
The hotel, towering at a hundred and fifty some meters in height, kept its upright posture but collapsed as if being sucked into the ground. Because all the outside walls collapsed inward, not a shard of debris flew outward and only the dust created by the collapse spread towards the surrounding streets. Precision blasting-- a highly advanced blasting technique used primarily to demolish tall buildings. Due to the destruction of load bearing walls and key support structures, the building collapses downward and inward on its own weight. Using the least amount of explosives to obtain the result of total destruction. To Emiya Kiritsugu who's familiar with all blasting techniques from past to present, there's a very special appreciation for this type of art of destruction.
>>122962066 A reality marble works by having a sence of self thats strong yes but also severly twisted. Christ just look at Shirou. The guys a puppet pretending to be human when you start FS/N and sure he gets better as the VN plays out.
Kid needed a trip to a mental institution not a War over a magic monkeys paw.
>>122962466 No it was more 'I love you but i hate how the world is full of bad things alot of which are bad things ive done for good/ish reasons so im gonna sacrifice everything including you to magically lobotomize the enitre world so bad things dont happen... now lets make a cute albino loli'
>>122962611 I wouldn't say that, Shiro isn't as stupid as all the third party media tends to depict him as, but the text gives you a better idea behind the motivation behind his actions.
That being said I really like both of them, people call Kerry edgy, and I can understand where their coming from for the most part, I feel that for a character in a magical setting overall, his presence is really refreshing.
Well that and I like characters that act with prudence more often.
>>122956825 I appear to be in the minority of people who actually really like the ending, and I have no idea why. So many people say it was abrupt, or unfulfilling/unsatisfying, but I really can't figure out why. It felt completely satisfying to me and left nothing to be desired. It's one of my favourite anime endings ever, if not my favourite. I think it wrapped everything up that needed to be, and hit every emotional chord just right. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I played F/SN and understood the story to come better? I don't know. Does anyone have any reasonable answers?
>>122963173 I wonder how many people that complained about the ending was a fan of the original visual novel. The ending was a great transition from Zero to Stay Night. After all the grimdark and suffering you get from Zero and the futility of Kiritsugu's ideals, you get this pure innocent Shirou who doesn't understand much but carries on the man's dream. The scene with Saber and the light shining down upon the battlefield beautifully represented the rekindling of hope in Stay Night.
>>122963216 The contrast to the general tone of the lore is pretty large in FSN but it does well to slip back into where it belongs, Zero fits the lore slightly better in general at the cost of not fleshing out its characters nearly as well, however either way both are reasonably entertaining.
>>122963531 If this series didn't need to establish Stay Night, then it could have had a much better and satisfying ending. But instead, we have to look to Stay Night for a conclusion to the series, which is a giant step down from the fantastic Fate/Zero.
>>122963447 >cost of not fleshing out its characters nearly as well Zero focuses on a larger number of characters. Also, FSN has three routes to focus on characters they missed or skipped over in the other routes. It's unreasonable to ask Zero to give insight on every character. I think they did well with what they had.
>>122963531 Sorry for not being clear, It just does without all of the convenient things I felt happened in FSN.
Just off of the top of my head you had a stereotypical school drama and teenagers as well as a lack of actual magicians, and by extension you have a placeholder master and a servant master.
Not that those things are particularly bad, in fact I wish there was more Caster plot, but Fate/Zero makes the event fall into a more organized and expected manner first then throws a bunch of unusual shit in afterwards.
>>122962466 You can not agree with a character, but if you show that level of not understanding a character, then even this show was somehow too much for you. Go back to slice of life for now, or just adapt to understanding motivations that are more than one level.
He loved her more than anything, he knew he had to sacrifice her for the grail, she wanted it, it was his entire duty in coming into the Einzebern's house, if he couldn't fulfill even that much then it's not like he can be with her or save his daughter anyway. That was their responsibility from the start, that was the agreement of their contract that she's known about since she was born. Iri was born as nothing but a sacrifice to the grail, rather she wasn't human in the first place.
He had become such a family man in the years of raising Ilya and being with iri that he couldn't go through with it anymore. He could only harden his heart using other means in order to try to prepare himself to pull the ultimate act of betrayal later on, even though she didn't consider it betrayal at all and was the entire purpose of their contract together. Only reason he's in that house, is because he agreed to do that much.
He didn't love Maiya at all like that, that's just called a form of self-abuse to remind him that he's a terrible person, so he could pull the trigger later. Guy became too much of a puss in his off time as a family-man.
data-book >Also, to Kiritsugu, allowing his wife to sacrifice herself and complete the Grail is a betrayal towards her love, no matter what others say. However, it is necessary that he does not hesitate in this betrayal. To Kiritsugu, his sexual relationship with Maiya is a rehearsal before this betrayal, a form of self-abuse to steel his nerves while walking down this path. This is probably the sorriest excuse to have an affair, but Maiya treasured every second of it. It is essentially a negative spiral downward without an end.
>>122964439 Yeah, people forget that Iriesviel is like reverse Ilya, she married Kerry when she was like three years old. She's extremely young despite looking mature. Everything she knows about the world is due to Kerry. Their marriage itself was a bit odd.
>>122964184 It's pretty messed up to Maiya to use her like that, The girl has no sense of self either yet he never attempted to make her smile or help her gain some form of humanity. Kerry needed a big punch to the face, Even more so when he whined about how he had no choice but to rely on a miracle he didn't even understand, how pathatic is that?
