So I'm on episode 5, and it's not as bad as I thought it would be
It's over the top sometimes, but other than that, I'm actually enjoying it
Do I have shit taste?
I used to love this anime when it was one of the first thing I watched... now years and countless anime series later... I fear what I would witness should I ever go back
it reminds me of how there is only a single movie of my childhood of 5 that I have never looked up rule #34 of
It was a cool concept dealing with split personalities (pokemon down syndrome and murderhobo) but I swear if I hear one more fucking "mew" I'm going to shoot something.
Also invisible tentacles? Weird but interesting.
People don't seem to realize that this series is intentionally over-the-top, melodramatic and silly. It's a lot like Twin Peaks in that regard... the campiness is part of why it's enjoyable.
The split personalities and nyu shit is the worst part. They should have gone straight with the pretentiousness, gore and melodramatic stuff which is the stuff that made the show enjoyable.
Bando was the best.
You know what, I dont have any plans tonight. I saw that my sister's laptop still have it in the disk when I did some requested compulsary cleanup last weekend. I'll drink some good stuff and try my best to marathon it till sunrise. Stay tuned for the /blog update.
>everyone likes it the first time
I fucking hated it. I forced myself through it really hard. One of the worst I've seen. And I love Guilty Crown, so don't try to "bandwagon" me.
>They should have gone straight with the pretentiousness, gore and melodramatic stuff
But then it'll just be 'pretentious' gore. You need a balance between hardcore moments and a kinda breathing room moments, otherwise the show will just get monotonous.
The characters are shallow as fuck, and they need to kill puppies to make the viewers feel anything, since they've already desensitized them with large amounts of cheesy gore.
>turn your brain off
Sort of, I don't understand the "babys first edge"/"muh deep storyline" argument people put on this. It didn't really seem like what the show was going for. For what it is I don't see how it is really as bad as people make it out to be.
It's really not.
It's got some tragedy which is sad, but not trying to be deep.
It's got a decent plot, not supremely original, but done well.
It's got Kill Bill-level violence, which apparently /a/ doesn't like.
It's got moe breathers and some fanservice.
I loved the manga.
The show was okay. Awful adaptation.
10/10 OST, though.
The enjoyment of Elfen Lied is inversely proportional to how much anime you've watched. It can be shocking and provocative, until you've seen something that does that kind of thing better, like NGE.
I didn't like it. I watched about 6 or so episodes and enough was enough for me. I think it's how everyone interacted with each other or maybe the pacing wasn't to my liking. The only good parts was the gore and what not, but the story felt lacking.
Then there's this faggot.
This whole gateway anime thing is shit. I think people who say this are projecting their own experience onto others.
Which all makes sense when you realize that these are 2deep evafags and haven't moved past that phase yet, either.
>Do I have shit taste?
If have to ask then you don't even know what taste is to begin with.
That anime is so bad its good. Like its so over the top that its worth watching just for that. And the characters are so autistic its fucking hilarious at times.
Its a bad anime but a good watch.
