Which of Togashi's works is the better series?
Can Yusuke beat Gon in a fight?
HxH has Killua and all I want in life is to cuddle a Killua
I love both series, but HxH is the better of the two. This is simply because HxH is a more complete story, and still carries the desire of Togashi to finish. Where with YYH, Togashi ended it abruptly due to the pressure WSJ infliced on him.
>b-but muh hiatus
If he wasn't wanting to finish the series he wouldn't have come back in the first place.
Togashi wanted to end YYH after the Dark tournament arc, but WSJ had just lost it's major selling stories (i don't remember which ones they were) and basically made Togashi continue the story against his wishes so WSJ would still sell.
It essentially resulted in him being worked to death week after week to accommodate WSJ, and it has resulted in his current health problems. It's also why his new contract with WSJ basically reads, "Do whatever the fuck you want".
Hunter x Hunter is objectively better.
Yu Yu Hakusho honestly is pretty mediocre if you take off your nostalgia goggles. It's incredibly repetitive and a by the numbers battle manga.
It's only saving grace are its incredible cast of characters.
Hunter x Hunter beats it in every other possible way though.
YYH was fucking awesome, other than the arc when they're fighting those guys with territories in the house and the way the king tournament arc was handled was shitty.
HxH is better though in my opinion. I like more of the characters, the power system is interesting, it feels more like an adventure, and a cool world. It'll never be finished though so I guess YYH wins there.
Of course it would have been, that's what was planned. That's the conclusion Togashi had been writing toward since the beginning. It was set up to be a perfect ending.
But WSJ said "No, we need you to keep writing", and Togashi has made them pay for it ever since he started HxH. The only problem is, the one's who are really affected by this our the fans, aka us.
I just hope he comes back from his surgery ready to go full force.
>It's only saving grace are its incredible cast of characters.
That's a pretty huge saving grace.
Anyways, I'm re-reading it at the moment. It's still pretty good.
And Kuwabara is still the best.
HxH is better since it actually world builds pretty nicely while giving everyone, even the villains a decent spotlight. YYH was a little... Unexciting with it all. The fights and Yusuke were the best part there.
And Yusuke would destroy Gon. Fucker is probably on Mereums level in terms of combat ability if not more.
Is Keiko or Botan best girl?
Both characters were kind of pointless aside from serving as the damsel in distress at some point. The only edge Botan has is her sassy attitude.
This is true best YYH girl.
It didn't stop it from being any less gay.
I would say it's different now for multiple reasons.
Early-mid 90's attitude towards homosexuality is very different from what it is now, so there's greater easiness when addressing the subject. Not to mention, Togashi has wanted to write a gay main character for a long time, but was thwarted by WSJ when he tried.
Now however, Togashi has free reign with his contract to do whatever he wants. Also, shota sells in Japan. This is an indisputable fact.
>start with MC and love interest and female partner
>make them both background characters after the first arc
>add Kurama and Hiei
>introduce Sensui and his demon partner that outright loved the guy
as time goes on he cares less and less
I hope we get some evidence that Gon is a homo before the series ends
It's hard to say really. Either two things are gonna happen:
1) Gon and Killua actually head in the "couple" direction.
2) There will be no romance for either one of them, period.
What other possibility could there be? Togashi introducing female love interests for either of them? Yeah fucking right, the fanbase would riot. Not to mention it would go against everything that's been hinted at up to this point.
If would feel so out of place.
It might just be 'best friends forever' thing where they stay together that's really just a thinly veiled relationship. It definitely won't go all out, no matter how much staring madhouse's killua does.
gon's straight anyway
>Can Yusuke beat Gon in a fight?
I actually want a source on this because this sounds just like the rumor of "Toriyama was going to end it in the Frieza saga but wahh the editors!" When I read an interview where Toriyama did not plan to end Dragon Ball after Frieza (I wish I had it bookmarked)
Quality-wise, HxH is better since everyone is Kurama-level in terms of battle techniques but power level wise, it isn't even a contest with YYH the same way it isn't even a contest that Yamcha could destroy every last S-Level on the YYH save Raizen.
Havent seen Yu Yu hakusho but Gon will jajanken the shit out of that nigger
Yamcha would get wrecked after getting too careless or go up against someone that just happens to know how to counter all of his attacks. That's just how it works.
Hunter x Hunter's plot and characters were far more intersting than Yu Yu Hakusho's, which was nothing more than a run of the mill shounen (bear in mind I'm only talking about the anime version).
The only thing bringing HxH down is Togashi's laziness, from the constant hiatuses to the laughably poor art (which signals another incoming hiatus).
They're done by the same artist, what difference in artstyle is there? Don't try to say the scribble chapters in HxH, that's laziness, not an artstyle.
It's not like art or girls are the reasons anyone reads Togashi's work in the first place anyway, if you think they're more significant than his god tier storytelling or characterization then you are the one with shit taste.
I enjoyed YYH more, it HxH is great but I never felt like I got enough of what I came for which was people with powers punching each other. But that's not what HxH was really about so I can't say it's worse for it.
I dunno but I'm pretty fucking sick of HxH by this point. Or rather, I got sick of it a while ago and just stopped.
I just don't have the patience for this shit anymore, particularly for Togashi's work ethic.
At least he did a better job with females in HxH.
The YYH manga wins by default just because it isn't drawn like shit like HxH.
inb4 mangareader. I got this off Google. Give me a break.
Togashi scribbles is kind of a problem. Though I won't say that the art didn't get worse in YYH either. There's some Kubo-tier no-backgrounds towards the end where it's obvious he just wants to get this shit over with.
By the end of the Dark Tournament, Team Urameshi would kick not only Gon and Killua's ass but also any other Hunter's.
YYH operates on another level, even Kuwabara would kick Mereum's ass once he gets to A class strength. Not even accounting for his dimension slicing sword there.
Killua is a fucking shit.
he should get taller considering his genetics
Yes, I'd say. In spite of everything, he loves his mother and won't stand for anyone talking shit about her. Same with Keiko. I'd feel sorry for anyone trying to bully his kids.
YYH is just proto-Hunter in many ways but I'll always love Yusuke and his gang.
Chimera Ant arc Gon stomps Yusuke, he wouldn't even need to go full Gon-San. Yusuke's got nothing on nen.
Why do faggots think the Dark Tournament is the best part of YYH? It's not even the best arc. The only good part about it is that Kuwabara got a lot of spotlight.
>Toguro isn't even that good of a character
>Togashi kills off two important characters and brings them both back
Best arc goes to
Maze Castleor Chapter Black
Kuwabara is literally the best YYH character.
