Just your standard overlord thread.
Will be talking about latest chapter so if your not up to that point, SPOILERS AHEAD
Yeah, reading that chapter 5 really killed my expectations for Madhouse to deliver on that fight. Comparing to the previous figths, it was on other dimension itself and re-read it while counting the preparation phase as well.
93 skills/items/casts used if you count both combatatants alternating + regular attacks. I had my hopes on the experienced chief animation director before but not even he can siphon enough hours/budget to make that fight justice.
My bad. Dumping what I found now.
Note that some are repeats, but bear with me here.
Glorious Pleiades, which I posted yesterday.
Will be amusing to see if Ainz can break the barrier of 101th level, since he arrived into the new world with 90% earned, 10% missing.
And I don't even care at this point, knowing the "general" flow of the volumes, what faction is attacking Carne village in vol.8?
Demiurge's pecs, in HD.
That, and Ainz's bones.
Nobody actually cares about the ladies' bath scene, right?
Who would care about that shit after posting >>123249968
Poscript, with Mare being sexual.
With this, Volume 8 is complete.
Oh, here's something written for Volume 9. Can nip translators tell us what its saying?
>Take it seriously and think it's quite depressing but quite good piece of work
>Can't stop laughing my ass off during humorous scenes thanks to that artstyle
Shieeet now I don't know which one I like more
really? the only thing i can really remember is when he smashes in that adventurer's skull.
it wasn't pretty but definitely not worse than what the rest of the guild members have done.
Man, fuck this name.
Since system work on combining classes he had to meed few requirements to get necro shit evelve to lich but you can guess that he filled up the rest with just other powerful magic subclasses
Well he did emphasis entertainment for his build, outside of hunting that Eclipse class.
For that reason he learned 700 spells from 18 different ssytems out of the 6000+ possible when most casters had 300.
"Hello, there PK-target, I'm the most badass necromancer on this homeworld and you're going to be eaten up by my Shark Cyclone and gravity."
But he doesn't even have genitals.
Seems like both mediafire and my collection had something that wasn't in neither, combined the best/most from both. (And updated the e-reader/pdf compilations.)
I assume he can just magic himself some.
We know he could give himself a human face, don't know if it was actually solid though.
In anycase I assume he can give himself flesh or something equivalent anyway.
Do stats ever get brought up, can they be seen with analysis magic/skill? Can Ainz level up beyond 100 now? Can the other members of Nazarick level up? Can skill points been earned and allocated (or however it was done in the game)?
It's actually read 'flying squirrel' (yeah, his name is as stupid as the rest).
I thought it said that if he wanted to dedicate the power to it he could have made the illusion face real?
I mean, there are items to transform your class. I am sure there are items to temporarily transform your race too.
Gonna be clear with you
Ainz does not have a sex drive, lust/love is a strong emotion and thus gets suppressed. He has absolutely no interest in sex and thus will never spend time figuring out how to make a magic dick
prohibited actions don't apply anymore though so i guess if he really tried it might be possible but i doubt it'd happen for a while.
you'll have to find proof for that, i also only remember that he's only able to make an illusion
He's not restricted to the games magic anymore though. I mean technically I'd assume like with most of his kind (Or at elast as they're explained in other fiction) his character was technically once human then turned himself undead (I mean character backstory-wise, since it's true for NPC's it should be true/real for him), given that why cant he at least temporarily regain his flesh?
Chances of Clementine getting ressurected as a catgirl?
since there's skills specifically for viewing hp/mp i think we can assume there's something similar for other stats but i haven't seen anything besides those really mentioned.
as for levels, it's still unclear but ainz said he was close to the next level so we might see what happens there soon.
i don't know if skill points even matter since equipment/classes can augment that pretty drastically.
Is there anyone translating it more often than one chapter a week?
so-bin should post more concept art in these books dammit.
Rather than complaining why don't you learn Japanese and do it yourself?
Or run the webnovel through a machine translator if your desperate?
Also don't forget the audio drama is getting translated (at a painfully slow rate) as well.
You can also wait on the anime,
which will probably be shit and will never reach the point the LN translations are up to.
The most serious solution I can offer is, begging or paying other translators to work on it. I think there's a few that are open to recommendations of what series to take on. If the current translators worked together with another group they could start an arrangement like is being done with WordMaster (the groups divide up the chapters between them so releases can be more frequent).
You could also beg to assist with QC/Editing, which would give you a chance to look at it earlier and speed up releases IF YOU DO A GOOD JOB.
>Every year, the war between the kingdom and empire was supposed to end with a standoff.
>However, the empire's ruler, the fresh blood emperor visits the great underground tomb of Nazarick, and Ainz participates in the battle between the two countries.
>From this, the quarell rushes into an all out war.
That's most likely the case, since the settings suggest it's a period during which people didn't travel much. There's also a chance there's the cliche of 'we can't cross the ocean due to the monsters sinking ships'. There's also a chance that the entire continent has not been explored or is not all nations can interact (dragons den/cursed forest/unscalable mountain/'we dont go there').
I also assume flight magic and teleportation are not things most common folk can do.
m8 r u takin the piss
it's actually kind of incredible how much we got this week
>oh my god why can't these guys translate faster so that I have more chapters to not read sooner
>wanting to read a single 5 minute long chapter at a time
Wheres the Heman equivalent to kick his bones?
As someone who hasn't read the wn I'm assuming it's gonna be a deal of putting two and two together
Gazef runs into a legendarily powerful chanter claiming to be from Nazarick
Some super powerful warrior shows up out of nowhere claiming to chase vampires
Well known and powerful adventurers go somewhere and die
Magical Wildlife around a certain area gets driven out
More monsters appear harassing the country
Follow the path of destruction and you get to a giant dungeon filled with intelligent beings, convince them to help you and you get to turn a wa in your favour
hi welcome to all ongoing translations ever you spoiled little shit
"In order to gain the strength to accomplish his goal, he needed a weapon. He was willing to throw away everything else for the weapon of his desires.
Magic weapons were expensive, but the one he truly wanted wasn’t any ordinary magic weapon.
Further south, past the Kingdom—was a city in the middle of a desert. Amongst the goods that occasionally flowed out from that city was a weapon that, even unenchanted, far surpassed the cutting ability of ordinary magic weapons. It had a price to match, so much so that people’s eyes would pop out of their sockets upon seeing it. That was the weapon he wanted.
And then, he had finally managed to obtain a 「Katana」."
Oh? That would be very very lovely. The battlefield scene
(slaughter)was one of my favorite moment in the WN.
Does this mean the LN will follow WN part to
the magic schoolarc afterall?
It was glorious in the WN.
The kingdom and the empire sent off a convoy to visits Nazarick at he same time; however, since the kingdom is closer they arrived first.
For the kingdom, they pretty much did everything wrong. The king send a messenger in a fancy carriage, once they arrived, the messenger were told to wait in the log cabin that Ainz had made to be kindda like a guard post at the gate. They waited like an hour or something and was pissed that they had to wait when they were noble. Once Ainz comes out he greet them and the messenger pretty much just bitch and moan about how they weren't welcomed properly as they status entitled them. They bitched about how it's disrespectful that Ainz wear a mask in front of them and demanded him to take it off, Ainz was like no, I can't take it off because magic, and they were annoyed by that. Ain then were told that the king had sent a message for him, so he was like okay and held out one of his hand like he was receiving a letter, at he point the messenger flipped the fuck out and insult him that he had no etiquette and that he should be receiving the letter on both knees with both of his hand held out to receive the royal letter. Ainz was pretty fucking annoyed by this point, but he still went along with it since he really didn't know the etiquette, after he receive the letter, he read it and it just said the king want him to visit at the palace. Ainz then looked and saw that the carriage the messenger rode in was all fancy looking and the one they had prepare for him was some shoddy ass wooden carriage. Ainz then told the messenger that he would need some time to prepare and invite them to get some refreshment in Nazarick. The messenger then said that he doesn't want to set his foot in a dirty graveyard, Ainz replies that it was just an entrance and that inside the log cabin was a magic mirror passageway connect to inside and invite them in.
They had cakes and tea in Nazarick and everyone lived happily ever after, the end.
Once inside Nazarick, the messengers pretty much dropped their jaws at how luxurious the inside was and was freaking out. Then they got greedy and was like "All these riches, do you even pay taxes on them?" Ainz asked them what do they mean and they started ranting about how this area is in part of the kingdom and that mean that it belong to the kingdom and that since it is so, Ainz must pay the taxes appropriately to the income. They then started accusing Ainz of embezzling from the kingdom and that Ainz was doing illegal shit within the kingdom to obtain all the wealth. Ainz pretty much snapped at this point, and was pissed that they were talking shit about all the stuffs that him and his guild had collected with all their hard work, so he summoned a cerberus. Then it cut to Demiurge walking in and saying that something smell good and it was just Ainz standing in the middle of pools of blood and body chunks all over the place.
For the empire
the emperor himself actually came in person with gifts and such and didn't mind waiting in the log cabin. Then once Ainz was ready, the emperor was escorted inside by the maid and met with Ainz in the throne room with Ainz sitting there. Ainz asked the emperor what he did he came here for and was surprised when the emperor just said that he just want Ainz's friendship and no ridiculous demand. Pretty much the empire side showed much more respect and they played the politic game pretty well in how they introduce himself to Ainz and pretty much why the WN went the empire route. I really hope it's the same for the LN.
Nah, he just killed everyone and destroy the carriage and pretty much seems like they're just gone, it was funny as when a couple chapters later when the scene was at the kingdom people were commenting that the messenger envoy have yet to return and there was no sight of them anywhere.
The attitude is nothing new. Real life world history was like that and it is not a cultural thing. Nobility from different cultures such as europe or asia considered your excess wealth to be theirs to be taxed. And they wouldn't tax you once on it, they'd tax you again on it the next tax period, so it is not like modern income tax where you get taxed only once on the principal.
>Disgusting nobles got what they deserve.
While many people feared or were jealous of the high positions and/or powers of the nobles, they also wanted to be nobles themselves. Much like how modern society is full of people who want to be just like the rich overlords, and thus to support their dreams, they vote for politicians that tax the poor and give to the rich. By making the rich richer and the poor poorer, that supports and increases the general public's desires and dreams of being rich. However, the actual effect is to make it less likely.
By that point, Ainz was already given position as an exclusive noble within the Empire, he wanted to show the might of his undead army and went ahead and prepared 300 death knights. The funny part was that they didn't even get to fight, imagine a scene where like two armies standing against each other, like around 20,000 each then there comes this mage in the front and he casted some spell that took a couple minutes (Ainz used his strongest GvG spell, because at the same time he wanted to test to see if there's any yggdrasil player on the other side to know of the spell and will come to stop him), the suddenly a giant explosion happened and couple thousands people on the side died and then black cloud form from where they were and a giant black goat appeared and started trampling on everyone.
And then my absolute favorite part of the battlefield,
While the kingdom soldiers were all dying left and right and running for their lives, Ainz was like oh man so many people are all dying, there's so much exp being wasted since I am already max level, but oh hey maybe I can use this world class orb that can absorbs exp so that I can use it later on if I needed it. Then he took out an orb to absorbs all the exp of the dying soldiers. To Ainz, he was just using this orb to absorbs exp that would otherwise be wasted, but to all the empire soldiers standing behind him, all they see his a mage that just slaughter thousands of people and is now holding a black orbs that absorbs blue lights flying in from all the dead soldiers, they were feeling pity for the kingdom soldier because they believe that this mage not only kill them brutally but is now even absorbing their souls.
>And if played wrong, found himself hanging around on a peasants pitchfork.
The modern rich are still quite arrogant particularly their children who grew up immersed in the wealthy culture and attitudes of the parents. Consider the story of Paris Hilton's younger brother that was in the news. He talked about getting any peasant getting fired for irritating him. His mistake was doing it on an airplane because of all the laws passed after 9/11. He got arrested, but because of his lawyers, it took a LONG time to actually charge and prosecute him for threats about killing people who got in his way.
And the other part of coin is how the upper class views shit like Russia. It will be a political problem for Russia, elite sending their kids out of Russia to get the best education and connections possible but they don't want to return.
Neither would I, since working to improve things domestically is quite problematic at this point.
Yea, I would say so. Assuming LN 9 ended pretty much at where the WN part one ended, WN part 2 got like half the amount of part 1 so far, so around 13 or 14 volumes I would say.
Magical katanas left over by players.
Yeah, I was laughing pretty hard at that point.
And the Kingdom has it even worse, at least for the Greater Nobility Faction that basically want to be their own kings on their fiefdoms, doing what they like and try to keep the peasants/middle classes from ever improving.
Empire at least had complete spring cleaning and proper institutions for mages and career soldiers. Kingdom only has uh Gazef, honest to the bone and quite powerless in grand scheme of things, Raven, load balancer for the factions and a madwoman disguising as a noble that is intelligent but gets dragged down.
