if i was mahiro, i'd tell nyarko i'd only reciprocate her feelings if she accepts kuuko's advances, and for this whole first bit to take place kuuko agrees to accept kuune's advances and basically it'll be one giant clusterfuck but in a good way
>end of humanity
It's just the dawn of new era. Nothing changes in the long run, anon. The moon won't fall out of it's orbit, there won't be mass hysteria, anarchy and madness sweeping all of humanity.
They are benevolent beings and they want to coexist in peace, making humanity stronger in the end. All They want in return is love and friendship. And in some cases video games and manga.
>tfw your waifu has so many threads now for some reason
She'll look so good in that wedding dress for you! Then there's the wedding night, lucky bastard.
Mahiro made a mistake, make sure you don't do the same. If you value your sanity stay away from the terrible frenchman.
Sure, parenting can get insane at times but other than that it's a wonderful thing.
Promised an anon I'd make this a while back, I've been waiting for a Nyaruko thread.
I'm a huge Lovecraft fan and think Nyaruko is a qt, but from what I understand other than references and namedrops this series doesn't have much to do with the mythos, and is based around otaku reference humour, which I'm not a fan of. Should I give it a try anyways?
Just watched the first season of this and I gotta say, it was fuckin' painfully bad.
Am I missing something? All it is it a hodgepodge of all the worst aspects of every genre.
It's not consistent enough to be a monster of the week type of thing.
It doesn't really commit to SoL either.
None of the characters are in any way compelling, just copy and pasted archetypes.
There weren't really enough contenders for the Mashiro bowl for t to be a harem, yet it keeps the horseshit beta as fuck harem MC theme.
Was being the worst parts of different shows the point? It's labeled as a parody anime, is that what a parody is nowadays?
This show is a parody to anime in the same way as a plate full of fat and gristle is a parody of a steak.
I did enjoy the fuck out of episode 10. That was what I would call parody
Why you gotta be so rude? Don't you know you're an Eldritch abomination too?

Does nyaruko have the highest obscure-reference-density of any anime in existence?
Why hasn't this been typeset and why isn't there more
SZS, but that's because so much of it is society/culture based. There's so much that S2 never got even halfway decent translations (the use of signs everywhere didn't help).
I-I don't know what the think anymore. I'm filled with doubt.
To know all those references would be asking a lot even for someone living in Japan. I didn't realize shit went so deep and encompassed so damn much.
What the hell am I to do if merely watching anime and reading manga isn't enough?
Short answer: no
Longer answer: You can catch most of what goes on in S1 if you have a high powerlevel and basic knowledge of things like Morning Musume. The signs are half the show; you will see things like the producer wanting to meet Kyoani's staff and references anywhere from Rozen Maiden to Boku no Pico. Expect it to take 40 minutes to watch an episode.
SZS and Tatami Galaxy are the only shows I've ever had to pause to catch up on subs and I've seen almost 1200.
S2 is a total crapshoot.
S3 is similar to S1 but with almost none of the signs translated. You will get the time/societal jokes but miss the sign gags.
>SZS and Tatami Galaxy are the only shows I've ever had to pause to catch up on subs and I've seen almost 1200.
How? I have to do this all the time. It's like when reading a book and you catch yourself just moving your eyes along the lines instead of actually reading them, so you have to go back a bit.
Except reading is a lot faster than speaking dialog... You can read a line of typically timed subtitles many times over before it goes off the screen. Unless you completely miss multiple lines in a row or something, you should be able to catch up. If you're missing multiple lines in a row (and the dialog isn't incredibly rapid like Tatami Galaxy), that means your attention is wandering for ten, twenty seconds at a time! If that's the case, you might want to try watching a different show that keeps your interest better!
Nyaruko would never let harm come to Mahiro
But my attention isn't going anywhere. I'm still looking at the characters, seeing what they're doing, and listening to the dialogue (even though I don't know Jap), but I just miss words. Sometimes I have to go back and rewatch the same couple seconds a few times before I get the line, because I get too focused on something else in the frame or a certain sound, or something else. It also doesn't help that I read slowly.
Not typically. I'm saying that if your attention wanders for a second or two, you won't miss any lines of dialog in most shows, although in Tatami Galaxy you might, because the cadence of the lines is quicker. If you miss an entire line and it goes off screen before you notice, you'll never know what that line said unless you rewind a little.
To reiterate, it's not too fast for any competent English reader to read, it's just fast enough that you are more likely to miss something if you stop paying attention.
Are you not a native English speaker? Many people tend to find that "missing words" doesn't interfere with their comprehension. Most of the time when you read quickly, you don't "read" every word anyway, you just recognize fixed patterns. That's why so many people don't notice typos where a common word is duplicated or omitted (pic related, for example).
I am a native English speaker, but when I'm watching something (which includes shows/movies, and I have control over pausing and rewinding it, for some reason I get really autistic about wanting to hear (or read, in subtitles' case) every single word correctly.
In a physics class I took a (foreign) T.A. used monster girls as illustrations on slides in a presentation about electric potential or something. He tried to pass it off like they were just normal clip art. I was extremely uncomfortable because I couldn't tell if he truly didn't realize that these images he had come up with were connected to fetishistic pornography, or if they were his fap material and he just figured no one else would recognize it.
I googled "nyaruko pregnant" and I found something terrifying
