Just 2 more days to go.
Fuck the haters I like this show.
And I'm never going to play the hentai game it's based off either!
Miura is going to fuck it up but then again few adaptations get to be satisfying or better.
Reading the VN and watch the anime for how certain scenes show up would be what's told to newcomers.
There's a reason people say to play the game
It's a story with three parts, each part reveals part of the truth, but all parts are necessary to the story and equal as they reveal shit.
Each route isn't just "Which bitch you get with", it's like a third of the mystery here. With adaptions, they typically have to cut corners or can't cover the story quite right, a lot is left out. In this case especially even if they adapt a route, they aren't adapting F/SN. They're only adapting 1/3rd of the real truth. Gotta take all parts of the story together to reach the answer.
Each route tells you a different answer for the characters and shows a different side to them, but that's necessary as well.
Also 06 version does the Fate route, and 15 version does UBW route. They did this because they wanted you to not hate the main protagonists this time.
Even they admit the Fate route has an issue or two looking back. They can still fix it, but, just wait for the remake on that one.
Honestly, even if the grave scene and Caster fondling Saber for some reason happen the wrong way, the Archer and Gil fights can pretty much make those completely unimportant so I'm still looking forward.
It's still something to look forward to, the final route is finally going to be adapted soon. Only route that hasn't had any adaption to date.
News on it is coming in May, apparently they have something big planned.
2006 version by Deen tried to adapt the Fate route but fucked up in many parts and even tried to mismash stuff from other 2 routes. Don't bother with it.
UBW adaptation by ufotable is the adaptation for the UBW route. So far, most scenes of the VN are present but there is a lot of inner monologue lacking. To put it simply, for the average viewer, Shirou of UBW looks like a "shounen" MC who doesn't think and is completely clueless where as someone who read the VN at the point where the first cour ended would know that Shirou thinks quickly on his feet, is not that clueless, and is intentionally teasing the girl he likes. He's also a good reader of the situation when it matters (i.e during fights).
Well at least watching the LOTR as a kid was fun.
True but I can already hear secondaries screaming "hurr durr why he asspulls".
I'd rather have a lazy (in terms of characterization) adaptation happen then not. But there's always the "what if" that makes me a little
It'll be a good day when it's a little bit less "Yeah, but.." about this, and a little more "Yeah, this is exciting".
Oh, I'm fully aware of the LN content. I don't care that it got changed though. The more light-hearted adaptation was a good breather after the intensity of the fifth one. KnK 6 wasn't perfect, but it was still enjoyable.
Gai-Rei Zero and Hourou Musuko were both really well done, and even Fate/Zero was good for the most part. Aldnoah is shit but it's shit for multiple different reasons, not just directing.
And a director admitting the world and characters the original creator created are confusing is fucking embarrassing.
>Shirou of UBW looks like a "shounen" MC who doesn't think and is completely clueless
I mean, I wouldn't go so far as to say that Ufo has presented Shiro to be *super* intelligent, but I wouldn't say he came across as incompetent or idiotic. He's a dumbed down in the sense that Shiro appears to act a little brashly, and is doing the whole "huh? no, there's no way she likes me" thing with the romance.
But Shirou has the fighting skills to back up his brashness, and he knows it, even though he's underpowered when it comes to magic.
Episode was shown already to some people
Kills the maids, admits Berserker was strong and that he had to take that fight a bit seriously this time, is almost a bit confounded when Berserker was still moving even when all of his lives were gone but he still disappeared in the end, and then Gil ripped Ilya apart in front of Shirou.
This adaption tried to show "Berserker really is strong", since that was an important thing to convey. Just like how Gilgamesh took Karna seriously in CCC, as Gilgamesh is still the strongest by far, but those divine types are still a bit of trouble worth putting some attention towards.
Still the same idea conveyed in the VN but they tried to do it in their own way. "There's no way Berserker could win this perhaps, but he was by far strong, one of the strongest even in death. He died standing, so that Ilya would not feel alone". It's all about how you show that this guy is fucking strong both physically and as a character, despite not being able to speak, even if he cannot win this battle by any means.
He's just like a typical Japanese otaku writer, has some ideas, none of them particularly relevant to normal fags (I still maintain that the flashy quick panning animation style largely carry the anime) but kind of interesting to otaku.
>It'll be like watching LOTR movies before reading the books but maybe a little better. It's still bad.
That's contradictionary to what you said.
Having read the books makes watching LotR painful
Eh. I consider myself pretty a hardcore Tolkienite, but I don't begrudge the movies. They make some blunders, but overall their above average war-epics, with a fantasy setting. They do a good job adapting certain aspects, but really don't capture the essence of the original.
Good films, bad adaptation.
Posting a translated excerpt from the TM twitter that happened on April's Fools, involving Waver meeting Kayneth. (1/3)
El-Melloi II: ...I see, if my hypothesis is correct, then that must be it.
El-Melloi II: The world where the professor exists and the world I come from have crossed because of the dark Capsule Servants.
El-Melloi II: Information on parallel worlds is collected in the Throne of Heroes.
El-Melloi II: The problem is that information essentially is mass and energy. The information recklessly gathered by the illegal Capsule Servants exceeded the limit, so the boundaries of the world were warped.
El-Melloi II: That is the conclusion based on modern scientific theory, but also on Greek philosophy as well. As a result, a world where I, El-Melloi II, and the professor, El-Melloi I, coexist was created.
Flat: I don't think that's all. I think maybe a lot more, thousands or tens of thousands of "possibilities" all came together. The Shirou-kun I know wasn't a lawyer, and Rin-chan was a bit different from the Rin-chan I knew... I'm gonna call the professor. >RT
El-Melloi II: That's right. It's as Flat says. I had it slightly wrong. Let me amend my hypothesis...
El-Melloi II: This place must be a Kaleidoscope. A world where fragments and reflections of various possibilities are brought together because of someone observing them...
El-Melloi II: But if it is the Kaleidoscope, there must be a single vantage point. The Kaleidoscope came into being because someone was serving as that vantage point...
El-Melloi II: Ahh, well. No wonder. Of course I can't meet the professor. It's because I thought that I couldn't meet him.
Kayneth: IR Productions, Miss RT... No matter how many times I call, there's no answer. Even though she's the only human connection I can rely on now...
Kayneth: Has she forgotten me? Or have I forgotten her? ...It's no use. Everything's unclear.
El-Melloi II: But you wouldn't feel obligated to think that way. Flat, lead me to the professor. You of all people can do it. Yes, you only need to acknowledge it. It's as unreachable as the stars to me, but that's how you and this magecraft are, right?
Kayneth: I am K... Mister K. But... what does K even stand for? K for Kapsule Servant? No, but then...
Kayneth: Now that I think about it... what is a Capsule Servant, anyway?
Flat: ...If you come into contact with Mister K... "him"... No, you must know what would happen. ...You're bad at magecraft, but-- in situations like this, you're so smart that it's sad.
Flat: Understood, Professor. Through the circuit of Twitter, I will-- connect the two of you.
El-Melloi II: ...Ah, Professor. You were in this alleyway? Even if it is April, you'll catch your death of cold in a place like this.
Kayneth: Hahaha, to think there was still someone who would speak to the likes of me...
Kayneth: You must be the one who is to eliminate me. But at the same time, you are one who knows me. Isn't that so?
El-Melloi II: Professor... So you really don't know who you are anymore? Because I noticed, being the vantage point, you're being rejected from this place.
Kayneth: Then tell me. Who am I?
El-Melloi II: ...Who else?
El-Melloi II: You are the professor who did me the honor of fighting me when I was still immature. Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald. ...The most proud of all, Lord El-Melloi.
Kayneth: Kayneth... El-Melloi... ahh, is that so.
Kayneth: I put my pride and life on the line, and lost it all... that was me, wasn't it.
Kayneth: ...No, that's not right. It seems that after I passed, I left one thing - my "name".
Kayneth: Isn't that right? You, who call yourself "II"...
El-Melloi II: ...I can't hear the professor's voice anymore.
El-Melloi II: Because I noticed it, this Kaleidoscope is breaking apart. The parallel worlds are returning to their rightful places without anyone noticing.
El-Melloi II: Goodbye, Professor.
El-Melloi II: ...Ah, it's the original Akihabara. It's gotten pretty late.
El-Melloi II: I'm back, but the other worlds must still be continuing unconnected.
El-Melloi II: The days have passed. They pass. And they will continue to pass. I'm sure it's the same for that noisy place, somewhere out there.
El-Melloi II: ...Yeah. Maybe I'll buy Mr Glen a souvenir.
>Kayneth: I am K... Mister K. But... what does K even stand for? K for Kapsule Servant? No, but then...
>Kayneth: Now that I think about it... what is a Capsule Servant, anyway?
Shit, they became self aware and the magic was undone.
They started to realize that it was all a lie right as he started to no longer exist. This is a world based on observations, for Waver who couldn't imagine meeting the diseased, he couldn't.
You can't realize it's fake, or else it starts to shatter.
How did that pudgy eyesore turn into this chocolate beauty?
>I never got that part.
The fuck can you not get? He's not "Emiya SHirou", he's Amaketsu Shirou or whatever. A famous Japanese Christian summoned during the third war who was incarnated after the war and lived with the Kotomine family for a generation or two as he made plans for the next war where he would win.
This isn't too hard, originally when summoned he looked like this.
Over the years he updated his appearance a bit. Since he was a famous saint the Chritian household allowed him to live with them without much question.
Kotomine's family took part in the third war after all or something.
>And he has major problem with getting to the point.
>I was more speaking about how Nasu can't be consistent.
Guy has spent 20 years writing the same universe that features everything from normal high school comedy to post-apocalyptic sci-fi. Give him a break.
Look at the image there, he didn't look like Marik at all in the past. He only updated his appearance to look like that sometime in the last generation.
Looked more like Sasaki previously
Guess he thought that short hair would be more hip, and decided to style it upwards.
>I thought unlimited blade works was finished
Right, because the route ends with Saber stealing Caster away, and that's just the climax?
It's a split season, just like Fate/Zero.
Lancer is taking that "anus is defenseless" line too seriously.
>Kayneth: ...No, that's not right. It seems that after I passed, I left one thing - my "name".
>Kayneth: Isn't that right? You, who call yourself "II"...
>no Ever Present Feeling
>shortened Graveyard scene
>no Lancer teasing Shirou and Rin
Participants (and who they played):
Higashide Yuuichirou = Spartacus-P
Sakurai Hikaru = Manaka
Narita Ryohgo = Strange Fake Caster and Andersen
Sanda Makoto = El Melloi II
Urobuchi Gen = Mister K, Sola-Ui, Tokiomi, Shinji
Keikenchi = JK Jeanne
>no Lancer teasing Shirou and Rin
you sure about this? cause it ain't ubw if they leave that out
>Butcher was Wakame-kun
>no Lancer teasing Shirou and Rin
Ep 15 ends with Illya dying so we don't know whether or not they'll keep it yet
But if they don't I will riot
Fate route is best route.
> shirouxsaber canon masterrace
this, although I prefer Rin personally
So each member of the main cast was most likely played by their respective VA?
April Fool's Tmitter event
You probably missed it.
Spartacus was the best
It's okay, he promised he'd do his best
>You probably missed it.
I didn't. I just thought it was scripted.
So are you telling me that TM&Folks basically did a gigantic improv with only general guidelines and directions?
l like all the things you mentioned
>Illyafaggotry, and jerking it to Kotomine.
I see nothing wrong with this
Everyone loves cooking scenes.
Anyone that read F/SN wanted to go out and try to be Iron Chef the next day. The dream was too big for some people though, they grew bitter seeing their own inability on display, saying the dream was impossible from the start.
It takes more than man to accomplish this task, to become the greatest chef.
And? Zouken did nothing wrong, he deserves to live.
IIRC events of both novels occur in years of their releases, i.e. 2000 and 2004 for Tsukihime and Fate respectively. But later Tsukihime was moved to just before Fate. Am I correct or just pulling it out of my ass?
There was never any confirmation on the dates that I know of. Then there was the Q&A about their placement. Then there was the recent comment from Nasu about it being 2004 for Fate.
No Tsukihime takes place in 1999 parallel to KnK, I think Nasu meant High Jump took place in 1999 since that's one of the possible beginnings for F/SN because Tsukihime ends in October not January and Eclipse takes place sometime in the future. There isn't a solid date given but F/SN either takes place after Eclipse or he's talking about a different beginning.
Q: About Tsukihime, which has the same background world setting as Fate/stay night, which story happened first chronologically? And how many years apart are they?
A: The end of Tsukihime is the beginning of Fate/stay night.
Zouken doesn't have long to live and Shinji is gonn a move away after High School is over. Sakura doesn't have to suffer for long.
That doesn't disprove or prove anything. Tsukihime has several endings and F/SN has several beginnings.
That's what Nasu does all the time, Tsukihime's canon ending is either in October, after Kagetsu Tohya which takes place in Summer, Tsukihime 2 (which is stretching it even more since that will never happen) or Eclipse and F/SN has different beginnings from when Kerry dies, Saber is summoned or High Jumps.
>ingredients are pork shoulder meat, with ham meat added, salt, water, modified potato starch as a binder, sugar, and sodium nitrite as a preservative. Natural gelatin forms during cooking in its tins on the production line.
Shinji becomes the best bro after the UBW route, Dr. Gil healed his mind by turning him into the grail, it was all part of the plan.
We'll be there with Shinji soon anon.
By being based. He never needed to make anything up to Sakura anyways, she always loved her brother even with all the
consensualsex. Shirou and Shinji are bro's too.
She was another heroine to save before she went down the wrong path in life. If you think any of them deserve evil cast upon them for their actions in another route, then you're missing a point.
Even in someone has the potential to commit evil, which is true about everyone, they also have the potential to be saved. There are no enemies in this story, just people that need saving. We must correct them in their ways to save them.
Ilya didn't commit any evils in HF route aside from in some bad ends. Everyone in the story commits some shit in the bad ends, even Issei, everyone has potential for evil. However we must save them so they don't fall down that path.
It's not about punishing people for potential crimes, otherwise we'd be throwing stones at everyone all day, as everyone has sin(I mean everyone did some real shit, even Saber decapitated Shirou that one time). it's about putting them back on the right track and saving them. It's the concept "There are no villains here", that's the essential concept to get when you're trying to help everyone, even Shinji was someone that they tried to save if he would just fucking reach towards them as well and try to meet them part way.
You must not seek to blame people for their evils as much as you should try to bring their good out, and thus you have managed to convert someone to being fully good rather than just making them fall out further into evil, potentially with your dick.
She doesn't. She does some cool stuff in HF though.
It was rape, she didn't get mana out of it or anything as he wasn't a magus, it didn't actually help her control the things in her body. She already had a lot of mana naturally due to being Aoi's loin-fruit, but the worms tended to eat most of it. It was just something Zouken talked Shinji into in order to break Sakura down further since she developed some armor towards Zouken's normal torments on her, he was always trying to find new ways to break her down as noted.
Shinji was a good guy before Zouken started to morally degrade him as well.
It was wrong, she did fight back originally but it was noted she didn't see much point later on since he was stronger than her, fighting back each time still only nets one result, and she just ended up pitying him. It's not something she wanted, she did originally think of him as a good brother before this happened. We even see her fighting back in HF when he tries it again.
Seems that they've made up as of UBW Ending though, but in order to make up, he had to understand that he had done a few things wrong in the past.
Shinji did some stuff wrong, but he's not beyond saving. This is something to understand here.
He was also someone that could have been saved, if he would only have atoned and understand his issues a bit. He had to be broken down fully in UBW before he could finally heal.
Even Zouken found a small atonement in his last moments alive, as he remembered his soul one last time, and chose death. It did not make up for what he had done, but in those final moments he was allowed to die as a human once more, the magus he once was, rather than just a monster.
Makiri Zouken, the man who wished to help people, for one last moment he lived in the last seconds of his life.
There's a bit of meaning in that; although if you think he was correct in his ways much before that, it's not quite right.
I'm glad you agree anon, he did rape Sakura but he certainly isn't nonredeemable. Anyone who lives in the Matou house with best grandpa Zouken is going to be a little fucked up. He's actually one of the more complex characters in the story, though he doesn't get much since he was too busy being Nasu's scapegoat.
The original post I quoted never read the VN and avoided to do so because of Ilya's death, everything released so far as far as anime goes has Ilya portrayed as an innocent victim.
The difference between Shinji and the others though, is that he could not atone for his deeds. He was too warped, any time he was shown up or lost, he only retreated even further into his delusions rather than realizing how he was wrong. He was not apologetic or at a loss, any time he got the slightest bit of an edge against someone he did not hesitate to apply it to show that he was above them, because he wanted to feel like he was powerful. Underneath it all he understood his weakness perhaps; which is why he had to constantly wrap himself in delusions of power and exude his power over others in order to feel better, though it could not ever help him.
Only once he was broken down entirely could he find his way back in life.
He had to be utterly shattered, to know why this was wrong entirely or to feel some consequence entirely, before his delusions were finally broken in a way that he could not retreat into them anymore. If he could not atone or realize his mistake, he couldn't find the path back, a shame.
No light measure could be taken in this case; him being beaten down twice by Kuzuki and then by Lancer wasn't enough. It had to be full on losing his humanity and turning into grail mud that would finally make him go "Alright, screw this".
Becoming a mud-beast seems to have accomplished this.
>people accusing Zouken of wrongdoing
I just don't get you guys sometimes.
I mean if he could not at least find the desire to atone, then he wouldn't be saved.
Sometimes it's just about having the will to do it that means everything, to repent, whether or not one agrees with if they can make up for it.
You must realize your mistake essentially. Call it a starting point, but that's the most important step.
I know someone who fits that bill perfectly.
>beaten down twice by Kuzuki
I don't remember this happening?
Also, about the Grail Mud: I find it really weird. It's like nasu had no idea what to with Rin and Saber for the finale since Gil was busy fighting Shirou. I kinda find the UBW ending to be the most underwhelming because the Grail mud isn't really that threatening, or has a personality. They better make Shirou vs Gil really epic then, I actually wouldn't mind some anime-only changes here.
Yeah, he has a lifetime of making up for it to go, but because he's made it clear that he's trying to atone people have recognized his efforts as he's taking it seriously.
Now he's seen as a kind of good guy even if it doesn't erase his past. He must always remember his sin, but he's not alone anymore. His good deeds have found some small answer.
I have no doubt that they will go all out for Shirou vs Gil. It's the scene I'm looking forward to the most, mainly because I want to see zerofags cry when Gil gets anally devastated by Shirou.
>Becoming a mud-beast seems to have accomplished this.
Based Avenger saving souls.
How can somebody be so Hero?
It's like, he wasn't humbled when he lost the war the first time when Rider was beaten down trying to protect him after he ran into Kuzuki. Instead he just warped further into his delusions "That bitch, it's all her fault".
He found no humility or meaning; he only blamed it on others, and Kotomine gave him another chance because it humored him. Upon being humiliated again by Lancer after trying to rape Tohsaka, he again did not find any humanity. It was just "That fucking priest and fucking Lancer, if it wasn't everyone elses fault I could have done it".
Any time he made a mistake or lost, he could only warp back further into himself. You see this action on the fast scale during the near Tohsaka rape scene. He was gleeful in his misdeeds upon capturing her, was reduced to fear upon Lancer getting there, gleeful again as Kotomine died as he kicked his corpse around and tried to rape Tohsaka again, reduced to fear again when Lancer got back up, went back to arrogant and prideful the second he escaped the situation.
Again and again he kept committing the same actions without ever finding humility until it was almost too late.
There's only one Matou magus, Zouken
Everyone else is just his science project, food, or spare body eventually. Until he was dead there couldn't be another Matou magus for real. Everyone else was just a tool to prolong his life, rather than someone to pass the crest onto.
It's what happened to Shinji's mother, she wound up as the "food" category.
He kept tossing her into the pit even after it stopped doing anything to improve her ability as a magus. He just figured it was a good way to keep her in line.
I got you a better pic, friend.
It's like how elephant trainers break an elephant when they're young by tying them a small post with a small rope that can hold them when they're a baby and then they have sex with the elephant. So that even when it grows much bigger, that small rope will be enough to make the elephant think that it's trapped and they keep having sex with it. Circuses are pretty gross when you learn about then, seriously.
Yes I do. They are all shit compared to Arc.
>not lower than shit
