The best real mecha show of this decade returns in one day.
Will Daiz be subbing it again? Either way, I can't fucking wait.
Oh c'mon. Including some basic physics doesn't mean there's not huge gaping holes of bullshit fictional magic going on. If you're meaning that it is one of the better ones at it, okay, I guess.
No. They didn't do anything with the first one, after it was finished they just got early copies of the DVD versions to upload.
Netflix is all about uploading the whole show in a big chunk.
Ronia had better character animation than Sidonia. Hope Polygon will improve in SoL scenes this time.
Who else finally caved and downloaded the fuckhuge BD release to rewatch before this?
The extra booty is nice.
That and another torrent claiming to be 60fps. I'm not sure how they did it but it looks really cool. The animation is much more fluid. That said the frames get kind of fucked up in the really fast action scenes.
I'm not sure what which I like better. The blu ray (as far as I know) has good resolution and the new camera angles, but has the same frame rate as the TV release as far as I can tell.
I wish I was more technically inclined so that I could better describe the differences between the two versions. I've torrented the show a few times now and I can't decide what looks best.
I'm so far behind on the manga.
I stopped at the part during the storm where Nagate was talking to the Cap and skipped his dinner date with Bear.
drama doesn't matter the whole plot was meant to be a comedy show from the start and it shouldn't be taken seriously.
It did great at what it was meant to be
A comedy mecha show.
Ok, she's Mugi-chan then, pic related.
So next chapter when?
The the frame-interpolated release is cancer.
If you don't like the low framerate that's fine, you don't have to. But don't fuck with someone's work thinking you know what's 'better'. It's as it was intended.
There's a 720 version of the BDs, but the 1080 had more seeders so that's what I went with.
Honestly I think this series is better viewed on a smaller screen, so it doesn't matter.
Totally agree on the space battle scenes. I judge the show this way in part because it is CGI, I normally don't consider frame rate to be an element of "artistic style." I obviously haven't asked them, but I suspect the show's frame rate is a consequence of their intended TV release, not because they wanted it to look that way. Maybe the distinction doesn't mean much, framerate isn't something people worry about outside of video games anyway.
It's funny how they had to use convenient censoring fog in that scene not because it wasn't bluray(it was) but because they have no idea what should be behind it.
-Gundam Build Fighters
-Nobunaga the fucking Fool
-G no Reconguista
So do you think
Tsumugi will die in the manga next chapter, right after being introduced in the anime?
Not sure I like her voice. I know it has to be the same as Hoshijiro's canonically, but it doesn't sound like it's coming from an eldritch horror.
Not anticipate for Benisuzume mkII vs Tanikaze?
I see that they are faithful to the manga and are keeping Izana's butt as one of the 100 sights of Sidonia.
I hope you've brushed up on moon because there are no subs.
That reminds me I'm four volumes behind.
Blame reprint when?
I don't understand why Ochiai doesn't just leave.
He got what he wanted, the chimera. If he claims to be superior to humans why is he risking his life jumping into a fight between them and guana?
I really missed them. We had some fun times.
>there was only one real pair
But Tsumugi and Izana clearly want the D.
Yeah, it's not like he has a beef with Sidonia for imprisoning him into an auxiliary brain turning it into a I have not mouth but I must scream situation.
He probably wants to force Sidonia to evolve as humans instead of advancing with technology.
This feels so out of place compared to the superior season one OP.
Modern-day plamo is all incredibly easy to build.
If you've ever built a lego set, and can stand to read a few guides, there's no reason the Tsugumori couldn't be your first model.
I didn't really like the original OP, but this is a step down even from that.
people on Sidonia between genders are actually between genders on a genetic and physical scale
and it's only done to make sure the populations stay in balance, like clownfish irl
tumblrinas just say they "feel" like they are the other gender for attention
Such a shame. I really liked the ED to S1.
I see one reason: I don't want to fuck up and waste that expensive model kit.
I'd rather fuck up 500 yen kits so later I won't fuck up 5000 yen ones (and Tsugumori costs 5000 yen).
If only the good kit of tsugumori wasn't unpainted.
Also Type-19 kit when?
Actually there's no need for thirdgender that can swing based on population availability because a single male can replenish an entire population. It's only useful if there are not enough women, in that case clone more women. Third gender is literally useless
HGUC kits make good starter models. Check out the generals on /m/ and /toy/ if you want more information.
Plamo is the GOAT hobby. I wish you success.
You don't think it would be a problem if an entire generation all had the same father? There is a minimum amount of genetic variance needed to sustain a population, and it's not less than 1000 people.
That only works for certain species of animals, mostly simpler ones, and certainly not humans. Despite what /pol/ might have you believe, the 'bull' type breeding arrangement doesn't produce enough genetic variance in humans to maintain a population. It's mainly imposed on domesticated animals and livestock for the purpose of forcefully breeding desirable traits into entire populations -which is the opposite of genetic diversity. Most of those animals can't actually live without human assistance because they've become so susceptible to disease from their breeding.
Why that's been appropriated into some kind of emasculation fetish, but it's complete fiction.
That's the evolutionary advantage of protecting women. A situation where a single father is left is unlikely but if the population is skewed towards women it's not a population crisis like it would be if there was a dearth of women, in which case they have cloning.
When humans began agriculture only 1 in 17 men got to reproduce and we're still around. Don't pretend like you know shit, there's more than enough genetic variation even in that massively skewed ratio to maintain a healthy population.
Who remembers this?
Captain wasn't very good at this game.
p.s what do the runes say?
Haha, time for more coloured sights of Sidonia.
I honestly have no idea.
Anyway since I killed the thread by distracting everyone I'll apologize by saying
the trick to getting 14% is burn one side completely until you hit 11mrad/s and then shut it off while increasing the other side to full. You'll squeeze right by.
The problem with your reasoning is that one male gives 50% of their genetic information to their offspring. It means that the offspring will in turn reproduce to make a lot of inbred babies. Normally rare and highly disadvantageous genetic conditions like mental retardation are much more frequent in inbred populations.
This is why in zoos they attempt to 'trade' animal breeding stocks to prevent genetic diseases as a result of inbreeding. So no, having one male impregnate many women is not an alternative and while it may appear like a good idea in the short term, in the long term you'll fuck things up.
Key Personal Casualty Rate: 53%
Though I'm not sure on that second line.
Love this guy's art.
You what? Sounds nothing like Tenohira.
Kitamura did a stellar job with the prior ED.
I don't get it. Just how many 702 clones were there? And how did the MC get the clone out of the cock pit?
I also don't understand how 1 of the clones seemed to be so much better of a pilot than the other 2.
Or how 1 of them could even be that good when the original wasn't even that good.
Just finished reading the manga up until the latest chapter yesterday. Currently rewatching the first season.
I am hyped for Tsumugi. Just slightly annoyed that it devolved into a bit of haremshit, but I can deal with it.
Cancer for wanting to get rid of the cancer killing Sidonia? I don't hate her, but she's brought virtually nothing to the table herself and just derailed a lot of things. The tsunbot rescue was one of the best recent-ish parts of the manga precisely because it was back to being outmatched pilots in Guardians without super robot shit seeping in.
There were multiple reproductions of varying quality. They were dumbly trying to emulate various examples of behaviour, including ejecting the 'pilot' from the 'guardian'. This is the one that Nagate collected. Benny was the one that happened to be the closest to correctly replicating Hoshijiro.
Fine, I'll bite. You'd know it if you read it carefully.
There was 1 using hoshijiro's converted body, later known as benisuzume. 3 other clones showed up with that one in the first encounter in volume 3. Later in volume 4, 48 clones of 702 show up in clasp formation.
MC recovers one of the 3 clones because it was never in the cockpit. It was just floating outside attached by an umbilical, see pic.
And benisuzume is better both in part by being the original and having human parts, and by being the only one that lives through most encounters. It has experience.
Please don't kill her. Put her out of commission or something and let her be Nagate's housewife in Sidonia.
Don't do this to me Nihei.
Nihei is second only to Toriyama for forgetting his own plot.
I didn't see any new guardians in the trailer. Making new 3D models is a lot of work, which is likely why we missed some events in the first season as well.
I doubt we'll get merchandise for anything not promoted in the show.
>Just how many 702 clones were there?
>And how did the MC get the clone out of the cock pit?
The first one was already outside of the cockpit.
The second one snuck into MC's cockpit trying to kill him, but with Izana's help the clone was cut from the main body
>I also don't understand how 1 of the clones seemed to be so much better of a pilot than the other 2.
Gauna science, probably. The real Benisuzume is the one that absorbed Hoshijiro and created a couple of incomplete clones.
>Or how 1 of them could even be that good when the original wasn't even that good.
Hoshijiro really is an elite pilot, and with gauna science she, as Benisuzume, gets a gauna guardian with a very powerful Heigus engine
>I don't read manga. Too boring for most series.
>I only watched it. I don't read manga.
Time to post spoilers.
2nd season ED will sing by them
No need to go out of our way, man. All of our discussion was "spoilers" back then, have you forgot? Animefags had no say on this matter, and only retards were actually spoilering, like, everything.
The scans I have say three, actually. Or are you not talking about what I think you're talking about?
Well, that's funny. Must've been a long storm.
Im ready for the triumphant return of best girl
>cheated on best girl
>cheated with thirsty nostalgic bitch captain
>stood up Lala after she offered to make him food
I felt and am feeling a churning mix of disgust and anger
Haha, feels good as an Izanafag.
You get a taste now.
I'm working on the Outlaw Factory kit right now.
I'm really REALLY fucking looking for the new one from Cerberus Project kit. But I have yet to find a place selling it.
It will come back to bite him.
When she finds out, Tsumugi will tell Tanikaze that he's breaking her heart. His fucking the captain has led him down a path she simply cannot follow, and then Tsumugi dies. The Sidonia scientists tell Izana that it was not her injuries that clamied Tsumugi's life, but that she instead lost the will to live.
Meanwhile, Tanikaze, his soul now crushed from having lost the love of his life, twice, joins Ochiai in carrying out his plans.
the differences between Izana suffering and Tsumugi suffering is that Tsumugi took the initiative and got in a committed relationship while Izana was to busy being an admirer and growing a vagina.
I think Nagate sleeping with the captain is just about the same level of asspull that Nagate confessing to Tsumugi out of nowhere was.
At least Izana has Yuhata now, bizarrely.
>just about the same level of asspull that Nagate confessing to Tsumugi out of nowhere was.
not like there has been implications of mutual feelings since basically her introduction
Please, it was completely onesided. There was zero evidence he thought of her as anything more than a daughter due to knowing where she came from.
Ou wana av ago adit m8? Fook ou up swear un me mum!
Both were asspulls, with the Tsumugi one being even weirder due to how she seemed to have been established as something of a daughterfu for most of the cast. The Captain one is straight out of nowhere though, I'm not sure which is worse.
I do a lot of kit commissions. But the Outlaw Factory kit is for my personal collection.
I'm actually quite popular in the US GK circles. But fucking NOBODY has this kit. I'm convinced they only made one and it's the one on display at events.
That's the only explanation.
Here's hoping for e2046 recast to come out as soon as
half life 3 is released
>only watched Knights of Sidonia about a month ago
>Hear about new season, glad to know. Opt to browse this thread for whatever reason.
I feel like I have committed a grave mistake in coming here.
Also most of the time these threads are quite fun.
I'm having a hard time finding a rather old show that aired on toonami. I remember watching it as a kid but I simply can't remember what its called
it was a bunch of racing robots (I post this question here because I saw the mecha thing) that went around a track and they fought on the track until the race was over or some shit.
They went fast
I can't remember the name, pls send help for a fellow russian!
I don't understand why people hat netflix, I mean
Kunato gets his mind controlled by Ochiai, who then proceeds to make not one, but two Chimera. Then, the one called Kanata goes insane, almost destroys Sidonia and then Ochiai takes control of his body and becomes an unstoppable monster. Also Nagate and Captain had sex. Fuck off back to reddit Netflixfag.
Well, I knew about the chimera and I was fuzzy on some plot details that are coming.
Though, I'll likely avoid these threads once it starts airing until it drops on
Netflix.to avoid too many anime-only spoilers.
