ITT: shows that were immediately forgotten by /a/ after they finished airing
And that's a good thing.
>being suprised people don't talk about shows that just finished airing
There's nothing left to discuss, I liked it, I'm sure we'll have plenty of threads in the future. Was that your first season watching shows with /a/ or something?
Yurikuma was great. Wish it was longer.
This was actually forgotten while it was airing.
>Cross Ange immediately forgotten by /a/
A lot of forgotten shows from that season
but I'll remember them.
At least Fantasista got put on some chart relatively recently for its costume designs, so it isn't completely forgotten about.
at least I think I'm the only person who hasn't forgotten this
>Third season when?
>BAWWWwwww third season never!
>OMG THIRD SEASON DESU IS BACK!!!
Third season airs.
This one goes in the hall of fame for "Otherwise great shows ruined by shit endings"
Newfags may not believe it, but Murasaki was once almost as popular as Hestia is now.
Oh yeah. K-K-K. Moonman Moonman can't you see?
I haven't forgotten, anon, although I agree that this show has disappeared from /a/
I like the ending - it's depressing and unfulfilling, but I think it shows the vast cultural difference between Murasaki and the rest of the world.
A shame really.
Most of the ani/mu/ we get is cookie-cutter idolshit or "music club that doesn't actually play any music".
There was, like, that one and only thread that even reached bump limit because of the MC getting NTR'd and that was it. Give it another 2 or 3 years and nobody on /a/ will be able to tell where the girls from this picture came from, or at least the genre of their story or anything. It'll be completely erased from /a/'s memory, just like the protagonists' memory of their childhood experiences got erased. Isn't it sad?
This was great
This was embarassing shit
This was edgy shit
This was lovely
This was great
worst thing ever
This was fucking exellent
This was really stupid and half-assed
Didn't watch the rest except for CA because I'm pretty sure we'll be shitposting about CA for years to come
>alpha and morally ambiguous MC
>qt haruk clone
>unique and diverse setting
>really good OP
I feel like it had so much going for it but nobody seemed to care
It's pretty darn infamous though, despite its half-assed happy end. I can only imagine what it would've been like Gainax just went with some real mindfuckery for the grand finale like in the olden days. That would've elevated Yura's misadventures into the stuff of legends, but it wasn't meant to be.
Probably this show
Fuck off, newcuck
>Sailor moon crystal
>Akagame ga kill
He'd just need to come across the right opponent.
Hey what was that show that had some blue haired little girl, and she was the president of some corparation, and she wanted to take over the world or some shit
I think she also wore something like the pic related
What was the name of that?
There's still threads every now and then but it's not the same
How many years passed in that interim? Wasn't the new one kinda panned?
Also Haruhi spinoff, not nearly as much play as one might expect, but again, it's kinda shit so.
I don't know what sort of longevity you expect glorified advertisements to get on this board. Admittedly Hataraku Maou sama still gets some play around here, but that's just reaction images. Most shows like Blood Lad are one and done around here.
For a second I thought OP was Kampfer, but you fag's don't remember.
Any chart that has 2005 without honey and clover is absolute trash and just parrots shit without actively packing it up.
Mushishi was amazing, but honey and clover was genre/demographic defining. It definitely competes for the #1 spot and absolutely is a #2 if you want to speak about the artistry and "risk" of mushishi (it wasnt a risk despite what people think).
oh its a bait post just like all of the other AOTY charts
Because anime was finally becoming refined enough with technology and production, and studios were willing to take risks and animate different types of shows. Not that any of those were extremely different, it was a mindset.
For example, JC staff collaborated non stop with honey and clovers mangaka, which is why it looks completely unlike something JC would made, and is a perfect (plus some) adaptation. The score/art is perfect for the series.
I'm not sure if 2005 is the exact year I would tag for this, maybe around 2000-2003 as a start, but this was a good standardization.
If you look at the charts and anime lists, 2002,3 and 4 are also all great.
I think 2009ish was the descent of what we are currently in. Obviously there are some standouts like five leaves, chiahayafuru, space bros, and tatami galaxy (severely overrated) but I think the overall quality and demographicing has got worse
The first half is pretty godly but the 2nd is pretty weak because it throws in sci-fi elements to try to properly follow the source material.
Is liking Sidonia the new meme?
>he doesn't like Ping Pong
Ping pong is good, don't get me wrong. It just isn't aoty good. Many episodes were poorly executed and people harp on it for its highpoints. It also wasn't as experiential as say tatami galaxy which suffers from a similar problem. It just felt like they did a mediocre job occasionally.
Obviously it was very good and a top anime of the year, but definitely not the best. More "artistic" shows are overrated by pseudo elitists in the same way that plebs eat up shit like klk.
I've been watching every show every season since /a/ began, and stuff from before, and I still think I have an infinite amount to see/learn. I'm just saying that pingpong isn't the gift to mankind people make it out to be, it was just flashy and made a huge impact.
> Many episodes were poorly executed and people harp on it for its highpoints
>I've been watching every show every season since /a/ began
You almost had me going for a second.
I think all of these are just as good as knights of sidonia and deserving of equal/near equal praise. There were also a lot of series that weren't as high of caliber, but were incredibly enjoyable in 2014 that I personally enjoyed more too.
Are you seriously saying that ping pong wouldn't have been better compressed with the unneeded bits cut out?
had to concentrate for several long hard minutes just to remember the name
This shit. I watched the first few episodes and was bored to tears, and literally did not see a single thread about it, and I was NEET and on 4chan for the entirety of 2013.
Are you not watching it? It's incredibly enjoyable and it's better than DM. I might be a little biased towards it because of the immense improvement on past YGO seasons, but it is pretty solid.
this ugly piece of pretentious shit
>it's good because it's bad!!!
not him but I agree
I watched both of them, enjoyed both of them, but even now, I could not recall a single name, track, or scene from UK.
meanwhile i recall Crowds fondly and even downloaded the soundtrack which I enjoy listening too
I am gay for Joe
I don't even think I saw a single thread for it while it was airing anyway.
Holy shit that got an anime adaption? I remember reading like the first chapter in a copy of Jump like years ago, I literally couldn't tell you a single thing about that, or what it was even named, but I'm pretty sure I found the concept cool. Of course that was like the first chapter, so if it actually developed into absolute shit is beyond my knowledge.
>I could not recall a single name, track, or scene from UK.
I can understand not remembering the names because holy shit they had retarded names for some reason, but not a single scene? Not even the beautiful one where the main tanuki is waliking around with Benten and some other faggot in that park with orange leaves everywhere?
>Galaxy Angel Rune anime was a total failure because Madhouse didn't take it anymore.
>Brocolli stopped producing Galaxy Angel series on 2009 and shifted onto Otome games.
Why Brocolly? why?
My respect for the dead man shall, however, never perish.
Black Rock Shooter, an anime about an OC DONUT STEEL!!!11 Hatsune Miku recolour that no one wanted to watch.
This show started out so fucking good. It was a Racing series with some really excellent Real Robot style mech motorcycles.
Then it went full DRAMA POLITICS and a bunch of shit nobody gave a fuck about.
I bet none even mention this after 2012
sad because /a/ loved it while it was airing.
I love kampfer but I wish I didn't. It's such trash.
