Haven't seen a thread in like, a week. What happened?
Also, I guess there is no more hope for a season 3...
There was a very long thread yesterday about Accel, then it spiraled into the whole "Mikoto can't beat a saint" argument.
I'm actually almost done watching Raildex. Pretty enjoyable stuff, and for how generic a tsundere she is, Misaka really is best.
Railgun would probably bore you much more, since the first season has lots of SoL episodes.
>I tried watching Index and dropped it
I hate Index and love Railgun, so I'd say yes, but a lot of retards on here seem to feel the opposite way. I'd say the shows are very different at least, so you shouldn't draw conclusions about one from the other.
If you hate slice of life, you will not like Railgun, if you like slice of life, you might really come to like it. There are some explosions and superpowers and whatnot, but it's got enough SoL that I think that's what defines whether people like it.
Likewise, Index is punching and long speeches followed by punching. Something I have no tolerance for but a lot of people like.
> yfw you almost killed yourself.
Hope in the next volume she actually does some new techniques with her ability.
If one were to draw Othinus, what should that person draw her doing?
>but a lot of retards on here seem to feel the opposite way.
Or maybe it's because when people say they like Index more than Railgun they're talking about the LN and Manga. Also Railgun anime had a lot of anime original filler Nagai fanfiction. Railgun S 2-16, minus Cloverfield episode, were the best adapted part of the franchise that's for sure. Too bad Nagai hated that part.
>implying Railgun has anything on Battle Royal, English Civil War, Best Waifu Itsuwa, WW3, Double Jesus, Derethinus, Motherfucking Thor, Will-tan, USA USA USA USA, Beetle 05, NT9, and NT10, mind broken Touma
It's also because Touma feels like such a bland character, in the anime at least, that it's very boring to watch while at least Misaka and Accelerator are more interesting.
Guy was clearly asking about anime, so I answered about the anime.
But it does seem some of you guys really like the Index anime, which I cannot understand.
And the anime-only Railgun arcs aren't as bad as you guys make them out to be. No denying the Railgun version of Sisters is the best part of any of it, but if you watch the anime before reading the manga, what's made up isn't really noticeable.
I've read the manga, but I saw the anime first. This has undoubtedly colored my opinions, but in that order I actually like the Nagai stuff somewhat.
But the fact that an anon can say he dropped the Index anime after a few episodes, and any replies are criticized for being about the anime and not the LNs (which there is no way that anon is going to jump in and read after a couple anime episodes he hated) just bugs me.
Anime is faster to watch and easier to find than manga or LNs. Reading the source material is great, and worthwhile when you like something, but this attitude of no one being allowed to watch an anime without already having read the source material is nuts.
I refuse to believe I'm the only person that picks up LNs or manga based on anime, rather than the other way around. In fact the way the industry works, even in moonland, expects anime to boost sales of the original works.
Wish people would, if not give advice about anime on /a/, at least be tolerante of others talking about anime. It's getting absurd.
Not him, but the show blows majorly.
S2 had an awesome first episode, then the rest of the season was a trash heap.
Not even Accel-kun can fix it, despite being one of the few good things about it.
Mostly because both the Index and Railgun anime just have such an odd view of the setting in them.
People who watch and enjoy the anime are not at all guaranteed to like the LN, and people who like the LN are not at all guaranteed to like the anime. They're extremely different.
For me it is.
Didn't really got to like Touma (not to mention the ever-annoying index), so I'm glad the MC role slipped over to Misaka. I admit, the thing with the imagine breaker was kinda cool, But other than that...
I mean Index wasn't bad per se, but I liked Railgun way more. That story, animation and music were better as well don't really change things either.
I can't like the Railgun anime mostly because of how shoehorned Saten is into everything (STUDY is obviously another issue). The Railgun manga is fantastic and definitely better than the Index anime, I just don't get how people can like the Railgun anime.
I mean for God's sake, Nagai even fucked up Misaka's establishing moment just to shoehorn in Saten. When she railgunned that car because that guy spilled her ice cream on her in the manga, it established her as sorta unstable and foreshadowed other crazy Level 5s. Instead in the anime she just railguns them because one of them punched Saten, making her seem way more normal than she actually is.
I kind of feel the inverse. I find Touma much, much cooler in Railgun than he is in his own show. Just separating him from Index and putting him with the Railgun cast makes him a lot more tolerable.
This, mind you, from someone who has yet to read the source light novels, so take that as you will.
Depends on where you are. Touma is fairly bland for most of Old Testament as well, though at least going more into his thought process on events in the books helps a little.
New Testament Touma is an actually interesting character though.
Anyone who actually likes the Railgun anime should get out. Also reminder that it's going to happen and you can't stop it.
>Gets Science-cucked by a golden retriever
Gensei is literally the worst shit.
Quenser is best girl, btw.
>that fucking face
Have faith, he will animate more when he's in need of tsundere shekels.
I want to take him home and give him science to do.
I don't even know why I come into these shitty threads.
You are out eating Dango with you're waifu when this guy suddenly shows up and punches her in the face.
I'm just stopping the spread of misinformation. Othinus has never and will never come close to Mikoto's popularity.
While it's a lie that Othinus ever topped Mikoto, she is still very popular, making it to #5 on that annual LN heroines poll where Mikoto finally got dethroned from #1 by a chick from Yahari.
That's complete bullshit and you know it. If we limit this to just novelfags, then Othinus would be currently more popular.
You're ignoring the context of the discussion, which is that she was never forgotten, and in fact is one of the most popular characters here.
You're making a whole lot of assumptions.
Long enough I hope, what could possibly come after Magic God arc?
Finally Aleister, and with that the end of NT, I pressume.
Simple observation. There is not a lot of pro-Mikoto posting related to novel events to begin with. Just look at the reactions for the NT12 afterword. Pretty split between surprise and disappointment. Fans mostly talk about the manga or the anime, where as Othinus fans seem more in quantity and participate more in novel discussions.
Can't decide if I liked WWIII or Othinous Arc more.
WWIII had better build up, story and climax, but Othinus was simply so over the top and awesome.
I'd still choose WWIII, but both arcs are easily the best in the whole franchise.
Index manga is hit or miss due to skipping arcs, you can't go wrong with buying Railgun manga though. Buying the novels would also be good but keep in mind the LNs are only for Index except for a Railgun side story volume.
NT8 and NT10 weren't significant screentime for a side character like her?
The last time she was truly popular, positively posted and discussed in novel threads was for her battle against Brunhild in NT6.
The difference between positive, neutral or negative discussion will depend on what she will do.
I can already see the same complaints again if she's only there for MUH Touma again and nothing important happens again.
Of course, but my point is that even fans will complain if the author doesn't handle things well. It has happened plenty of times in the past with her. Many fans don't like the way she's written in Index.
There is just not enough fan art of her.
yeah, ppl don't appreciate her enough. There's a guy on pixiv who drew near hundred of 4-koma dedicate to her though, now if only I know enough moon runes.
a shame indeed, but at least I know Ventofags are always around.
Othinus arc. It had Touma at his best. It may have been bad at some aspects (same for WW3 or any arc for that matter) but the whole experience was worth it.
It's funny because my favorite scene in WW3 was Touma's run down the falling Star of Betlehem since that moment also portrayed Touma at his best.
I thought you were joking. She really was #5 beating out Index at 6. Also
*1. Hachiman Hikigaya (Oregairu)
*2. Touma Kamijou (Index)
*3. Yukino Yukinoshita (Oregairu)
*4. Misaka Mikoto (Index)
*5. Kazuto Kirigaya (SAO)
*6. Yui Yuigahama (Oregairu)
*7. Asuna Yuuki (SAO)
*8. Accelerator (Index)
*9. Tatsuya Shiba (Mahouka Koukou)
10. Othinus (Index)
She actually managed to be #10 at combined rankings. Also, that Oregairu and Index domination. Touma and 8man team-up when?
I realize that Haganai suffered because of what the author pulled and dropped off the radar but what surprised me was that Yozora hanged on longer. Usually, the one at the top is the one that stays longer. I guess she has loyal fans or she was more interesting even when Haganai was on a decline.
