Time for cute witches and product placement.
>Houkago no Pleiades - 02 [720p]
Huh. Kinda weird, seeing as the TV anime doesn't actually look all that worse than the ONA. Was the ONA that much of a success they decided that giving them enough money to afford making a full series would be a good idea?
you would figure there would be more hype for a magical girl show after Yuyuyu
Old Gainax is dead, though and the hype died with it. This actually is a lot better than I expected them to be capable of doing, I didn't know they had enough staff left to even make a full length TV show.
Why Subaru so cute?
Every TV anime made today is a 24 minute long commercial made to sell toys, character merchandise, or the material that it is adapting. For ignorant neckbeards to shun this because it has the backing of Subaru is both hypocritical and laughable.
It's not a continuation, it's an alternate version. But watch the ONA anyway, it looks better, and you don't have anything better to do with 30 minutes of your life anyway or you wouldn't be here.
What a nice little detail
These car sound effects are hysterical
The guy is more feminine than the girls though.
My brain plain refuses to consider him as a male.
>You will never be this alpha
The flying scenes would be so good if it wasn't for that 3DCG.
Nice hoodie. Itsuki better make the girls wear more cute costumes next episode.
>Show about advertising cars
>Action scenes go at 24fps
YuYuYu actually sold well, something this will never do.
It doesn't matter if it's used for distant shots if those shots are still close enough for the CGI to be clearly visible. Seeing the artystyle and design of the characters change from 1 scene to the next is always awful and never looks good. If you can tell that it's CGI in an othwerwise hand-drawn show through normal watching then it was a poor use of CGI.
So let me see if I got the exposition right:
Each of the girls actually live in their own alternate timelines. But when the alien crash-landed on the planet it somehow threw time-space out of whack. So each of the girls came to the one, same world. Or perhaps the worlds merged together somehow. This is why Subaru's and Aoi's backstories don't match (in Subaru's world Aoi moved away, in Aoi's world Subaru moved away), and also why each girl had the same seat in class. I am willing to bet that once the alien fixes his ship and the time-space continuum gets back in order, the girls would be forced to say goodbye as they go back to their own worlds.
How'd I do?
I wonder, did Subaru had red haired girl as her girlfriend in the Aoi universe?
I could see that being it. But didn't the space shit crash something like 7 years ago? They weren't specific on that, and the world/timeline merging everyone to the same school seems like a recent development.
I thought I was resistant to moeblobs by now, but dayum, she's cute
I want stroke Subaru's horns.
Aoi best girl.
>in Subaru's world Aoi moved away, in Aoi's world Subaru moved away
They didn't really move away, they're still in the same town they just go to different schools. At first I interpreted that episode 1 scene as them both going to different high schools after middle school and not talking to eachother anymore and blaming the other, but some alternate timeline thing seems likely after this episode.
Aoi was friends with that one chick in Subaru's original world, but in this one where they're all together it's like Aoi doesn't even know that chick anymore.
This is developing better than I expected. The first episode was already better than the ONA in most places, but this episode was nice new material over the ONA. The best part for me was them getting the club room though. I can't wait for them to have the cute and cozy and candy-like room from the ONA again.
I need more Yellow doing silly transformations though. And more of purple's stone-faced chuuni antics.
She will just grow even more.
The alien said he summoned one of them for help, but that it was difficult. He might have only done that recently and it was what caused, or somehow instigated, the merging.
The girls said it happened each time they got a new member, so all of the worlds didn't merge at the same time. It's like the girls are coming into a new world and pulling everything else with them.
I thought Itsuki would be just another quiet yamato nadeshiko character, but she was pretty funny this episode.
Love: it's what makes a Subaru a Subaru.
>There is still hope for Aoi.
/u/ please. Minato and Subaru are supposed to be star-crossed lovers.
Not him, but I am obsessed with cute magical girls. Japan just makes witches too adorable and wonderful, man. Majimoji, Little Witch Academia, Witch Craft Works, Kiki's, Yoyo to Nene, and others. I can't get enough of it.
There's some good resemblance though
Strike Witches much?
Went to MAL to check out the synopsis and I already had it in my plan to read, funny enough. Will mentally put it higher on the queue, even though I don't read manga that much even though I should. Thanks for the suggestion though.
I feel like the main characters being called "Vanilla" and "Chocolat" had something to do with my previous interest. I picked up Gochuumon and several other anime because of that, too. It's so dumb, but I love when they name them like that. Same with Amagi Brilliant Park.
That looks nothing like Mami.
Well, I guess I'm officially homosexual now.
Why haven't you bought the merchandise yet /a/?
