After an eventful first episode, we're settling into Kimi ni Todoke territory.
If you read the manga, they start dating by the 2nd chapter. And before anyone complains about bad pacing, the first chapter is 110 pages long with each following chapter about 40-50 pages long.
Too "japanese", with all the "I want to have a conversation but I'm too inhibited so I'm going to labor under some stupid misunderstanding for 8 episodes and call it drama" shit.
The manga is lovely in a dreamlike way, even when Takeo is spazzing. The anime overplays the moments a touch too much, but it's still good.
So, ok a Takeo has a legitimate reason to act the way he does. But goddamn son, she sent you a text in THE FUCKING MORNING. WITH EMOJIS and shit.
Pro-Tip: No one woman would ever do this with some dude they are not trying to date.
So what did you guys think about the VA's? Takeo's sounded a bit too manly for me, but after getting used to it, it's pretty good. The rest are also spot on.
Loving all the VAs, the voices are as how I imagine they would sound, especially Yamato. They're doing great job.
Someone told me Takeo's VA is 8man's VA and I couldn't stop hearing it during this episode.
I don't know how my heart is going to take it when we reach the confession.
To me, Takeo sounds like a guy lowering his voice below his natural range for the role, which is exactly what's really going on. I'd have preferred either a guy who didn't sound so cartoonishly gruff, or someone with a truly deep voice who didn't sound like he was forcing it. Yamato's fine. Girls will speak with a voice high in their range. It's natural. Suna sounds a tad too expressive. I imagined him just a hint more deadpan.
I got the impression that Yamato moves fast. And that she's going to take charge of the relationship right away - "meet me alone without that third wheel next week" in the second episode doesn't give me the impression of "slow".
I was thinking "I am going to drop this like a bag of rocks if they don't get together by the 6th episode" but I'm starting to have hope. Not that it won't be crushed but whatever.
>in the second episode doesn't give me the impression of "slow"
A lot of people including myself who read the manga were expecting the two to at least
get to the confession by the end of this episode, but the reason that people like this is for the fact that they get together rather quickly, and any misunderstanding gets resolved rather quickly. If they don't put in filler in the next episode, they should get to the confession, so stick with it for a bit.
Because it isn't hard to pick up on when someone likes you. Body language is the biggest indicator, but a girl that puts that much effort into sounding cute through texts (and responding immediately) has got a thing for you.
I'm no Chad Thundercock but as I said, it isn't hard to tell when someone's got the hots for you. After the man makes the first approach, everything is fair game. A girl will contact you first if she really likes you. Though the "first approach" varies between women; some think that just introducing yourself is enough. Others want you to take more of a risk and ask them out, and such things etc.
Stop being an oversensitive weeb
>Because it isn't hard to pick up on when someone likes you.
You'd think. I've had a woman literally throw condoms at me and still didn't get it.
